Saahrak was a Vortixx on Xia, performing menial labor as all Xia's men did. Shortly after the fall of the League of Six Kingdoms, Xia's leaders attempted to found an empire and invaded the Tren Krom Peninsula. After climbing the Mountain, Saahrak was allowed to join the army and was deployed (the only way a Vortixx male could leave Xia). He gained a reputation as an efficient and practical leader. After the Brotherhood of Makuta intervened and ended the war, they offered him a position leading the Visorak Horde, which Saahrak accepted.
Saahrak eventually grew disillusioned with the Brotherhood's bureaucracy, realizing he was little more than a pawn to the Makuta. He faked his own death and was recruited by the Dark Hunters under the codename Soldier. He eventually became a member of the Shadowed One's inner circle and typically oversaw the strategic aspects of other missions. His proudest success was overseeing a series of coordinated strikes against several Brotherhood strongholds during the war between the two superpowers.
Saahrak was known for his unwillingness to kill unless necessary, seeing potential allies where others saw victims. He also followed a strange code of honor that often put him against his employers, whether it was Xia, the Brotherhood, or the Dark Hunters. Saahrak was one of the Shadowed One's most ardent loyalists, although their philosophical debates often ended with energy blasts and furniture being thrown through walls.
