Over the years I've constructed a handful of different concepts for the Matoran, be they meant to represent Metru Nui Matoran or Artahkan, to just my own idle interests at that period.
Some of them came out better than others as a result, but here they are.

Neat stuff; I like to see how people build custom Matoran designs. The torso complexity of all of them is pretty nice, to start out with, but there are some other things I should point out. The first three Matoran's necks are a little freaky, and the limbs are a bit too short- this may just be because the torso design is too large, but whatever.
The Le- and Onu-Matoran have the same neck problem. I like what you tried to do with the shoulders, but to be honest it looks a little freaky.
Now, the Artahkan... not bad, actually. The limbs, again, are a little short, and the torso is about the same in terms of design as the others' designs, but the proportions are better.

Loving the dust on the Ta-Matoran! Reminds me of my BIONICLE collection.
Also, I like the design for the Artahkan. looks really fluid for a small set.
