Thanks for the review. Rocka looks great in the set pictures but the actual set itself... eh... not so much. He feels very underwhelming compared to the other sets.

Delightful set review. I'm definately getting this set. Mainly for those 3m shells. Though I wish he had two of the trans apple green 3m shells.

That megablocking Amazon link? Why is it even there????? >:(
Anyway, are you doing Scarox's review still? Because unless I buy the whole wave or Scarox is good, I won't get Rocka.

The shield makes me think of the old Kopaka sets.  That alone is enough to make me want to get him.  The gold and torso armor design are just extras.  ^^

Daybreak. The waves are in turmoil, their frenzied whirlpools and foaming crests crashing into the beach, scattering ivory sand throughout the brilliant silver of the endless sea...

I'm writing a Scarox review, yes.

I'm quite fond of Rocka. He's got a great, simple design that I think really exemplifies the basic qualities that define this wave's sets. His color scheme is well-organized, his weapons look cool (his shield isn't as plain as Bulk's, thankfully), and his helmet evokes the look of his Breakout helmet quite nicely.

The new head is a bit of an enigma, and I look forward to seeing photos of it with various masks/helmets. Overall I'm going to miss the Glatorian head, but I'm not going to miss its fragile Y-joint, and I recognize how the new head may turn out more versatile in the long run.

The back is a bit disappointing, but I can see how it would have been hard to do anything bulkier or more elaborate at this price point. It shouldn't be too difficult to moderator, either. Still, I do hope that someday there is an ideal solution to the empty-back problem, since many of the techniques we've seen in sets seem rudimentary at best.

Thanks for the review. I'm considering one of this new wave for scrap pieces, so I am looking forward to the opinions on the rest of the wave.

As to the "put it on your back" function, the Toa Nuva (2003 for the new people) put their tools on their backs in the bohrok-kal animations. I think that Tahu and Kopaka did in the MNOLG also. So did the McToran and... I've made my point.

QUOTE
And also, incidently, why people shouldn't be acting like Bionicle's "dead" -- it's still continuing in story form unlike just about any other line and has a very strong chance of coming back some day, so it's wisest for people to remain interested in LEGO, showing their support for HF, etc. The best way, as we've shown long ago, for Bionicle to come back, is for us to be on here showing support for HF and Bionicle at the same time, accepting both, knowing that one day HF too will lose the "new factor" and eventually Bionicle will be ready to come back.

If you should be doing your homework right now, copy and paste this into your signature.

Rocka looks pretty good. Just wish he didn't have a piece sticking put of his back.

He's not much exciting in my opinion, but he's okay. I always loved the shield-sword combo, so I really liked that part of him. I have to agree about that red piece, it's kinda odd. At least, they tried... :P

That neck kind of ticks me off. But overall it's an above average set to me. Thanks for the review, Gata, well-written as always!

Wow.  That back is pretty spectacularly awkward.  Having that red piece always there is just strange.

Fantastic set, though.  For some reason I love the shield.  Something about the big, round, shiny simplicity of it.  That head is also a must-have.

Looks like a great set! I've always loved that pearl gold.

Same here! The shade is actually called "warm gold" though.

Why don't you make an Amazon button next to the talkback and read more?

> There could have been more clever ways to fix it, though I'm not sure the price point would have allowed it.

a 2.0 hero foot, two black friction pins, and a ball joint. would cause the shield to jut out from the back a little more and be raised a couple spaces, but it would be balanced by the overall filled out back.

anyway dude i am so super pumped to get one of those new heads yo! they kinda remind me of the inika heads except like 2380573057% better

also, only semi-related, those new brains kinda remind me of the kraata, which makes me even more excited for this new wave

he could not save himself. how could he save us?

for all the blood he shed, your brother failed us.

theres nothing you could do. you had no choice.

why do you cry for him? you are our hero... you are our hero!

That would be more work and, in my opinion, more obtrusive.

I'm going to try to grab at least one of the heroes for the new head, chest and overall cool new stuff they contain. Probably Rocca for his shiny goldness.

Too bad the plug in the front isnt a little lower. It would be perfect for Kanohi.

Those villains' heads look like they attach in the fron though. They'd make good Makutas' masks.

Yep. Have Him. Overall, He is a nice set. I have an idea for the back. Attach a gunmetal Inika foot (Hewkii Inika) Around the shield connection piece. It works.
