Video games and LEGO...the stuff of childhood, for some, at least, and certainly for graphic designer and LEGO fan Julius A. Brunk. In the interest of combining these two passions, Brunk has successfully constructed a functional, large-scale LEGO replica of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System controller. It certainly isn't the first giant NES controller that's been constructed, but it is the first to be made entirely out of LEGO bricks. The project took several months and several thousand bricks to complete and is compatible with NES games played on ROM. Now that's an amazing feat. I wish I could build something like that in the future. But what really amazes me, is that it actually works.

Wow, fantastic. We've got an NES at home and three games, and I'd love to try this. 
I can imagine constantly hitting on those studs is going to hurt, though.

Yep, those studs would hurt clearly if you're playing a racing game and wants to go faster than the game allows you and you push that botton way too hard.

Ahh... Lego. What can't you do? I like how it actually works with the NES games.

That is the biggest video game controller I've ever seen, and that's what makes it awesome. If I had a NES, I would definitely use this as a controller if I owned it.

Of course, those platforms would have to have only as many control inputs as the NES itself. Which is really just four directional controls and four other buttons. It makes me wonder if one could build a more complex controller, perhaps one with at least one analog stick. But it certainly would be a lot harder than the rectangular NES controller.
