What happens when you combine some classic (gear-containing) Bionicle sets, an Arduino, a MIDI synthesizer, and some instruments? One of the most unique musical ensembles I've ever seen, that's for sure. Engadget reports that Guiseppe Acito, an Italian sound designer and producer, has combined all these things to create the Toa Mata Band, a new project featuring Tahu, Gali, Lewa, and Takanuva playing drum pads, xylophones, synthesizers, and more. You can check out his blog (in Italian) here for additional pictures and details. It's good to see we're not the only ones still playing with our Bionicle sets!

I'm so going to use this song in one of my trilogy movies. I love the sound of the bass and of the xylophone. This is truly original.

Was I the only one who found it hilarious?

Something about the way they're primitively bashing the instruments totally got me.

Totally reminds me of that party in Le-Koro in MNOG. Love the rythm.

Even when trapped by Karma's cycle, the dreams we left behind will open the door!
Even if the universe stands in our way, our seething blood will determine what will be!
We'll break through time and space, and defy all who would stop us to take hold of our path!

So, this is pretty much the best thing ever. I love how much crazy stuff people do with Arduinos.

Well, no. I showed this to my brother and he didn't stop laughing the whole time.

Nothing is more hypocritical than BZP linking to a page with a video. :P

Very smart work, and it really shows that he put a lot of time into this. You really can do anything with Legos.

Really great. The idea is simple, as well as their way of playing instruments, but the effect is strong.

Oh, and you should change his name: "Giuseppe", not "Guiseppe". "Guiseppe" doesn't make any sense. :P
