What were the left hands of Tahu and Lewa and both hands of Pohatu supposed to be. I know the pieces were needed to make the kaita. But what were they canon wise. Were the meant to be hands with fingers. Kopaka didn't have one cause he needed to hold a shield and Gali and Onua had dual weapons.

Hands with fingers. That is it. This was before the Y-joint became the hand piece. I personally think they should have stuck with this hand type.

They were supposed to be fingers. Two fingers seemed a little weird, but that's so 2001. Still, I liked those.

I'm pretty sure they were meant to be just fingers, I imagine them wanting to spare a new mold making an actual hand piece and use that trowbot piece instead.

When I was little, I thought they were some kind of guns. :P

Now, I usually see them as some kind of claws to help them climb.
