  1. I don't know how I didn't see this one. I need that Dark Blue Metru mask to complete a Karzahni. The whole lot went for cheaper than just the mask on BL, makes no sense.
  2. I think this image was posted in the original topic waaaay back in the day, but it's good that it's resurfaced again. Oh the days where people didn't carry an incredibly powerful camera at all times and international shipping was difficult for 10 year olds
  3. That explains why this BL shop has a bunch of NEW condition Rurus: https://store.bricklink.com/ciprinius?itemID=105888914#/shop?o={"pgSize":100,"itemType":"P","catID":"235","showHomeItems":0} I originally thought maybe they found a pallet of original mask packs and cracked them all, but they only have Ruru, Pakari, Miru and Kakama, all in these colors in high quantities. My best guess would be they somehow found an overlap at some point in time with these still being 'in stock' internally at LEGO, and being able to place orders through customer service. I'm going to message the BL seller and see if they will reveal any secrets. EDIT: Also, would you mind linking the original facebook post/group?
  4. So glad to finally have you here! I've been checking (stalking) your twitter and IG for months awaiting any updates. These masks are a thing of dreams and we need more! First of all, any further details of where/who you obtained them from, and where they got them from, as far back in the timeline as is possible would be wonderful. Second, I suppose it must be said, any further pictures of the masks would be greatly appreciated, especially shots compared to other parts of the same color from the same era. While it's absolutely believable that unknown mythical Bionicle parts show up over 20 years later, and the pictures you provided were great, there is a rise in popularity of resin "replicas" (fakes) out there that are getting better. While I don't think I've seen a resin mask that could stand up to close inspection, I'm not saying it's not possible, and unfortunately we are likely to see these fakes being passed off as the real thing at some point in the future if the craft is mastered. As for the price... unfortunately out of my reach, as much as I'd love to have one. You could probably look at the sky Kakama as your base price, while there are 3 known examples AFAIK, only one has ever been sold and the other two owners seem pretty elusive, but having true one of a kinds? The sky is the limit I guess, you've stumbled upon a fortune. - Roger
  5. I'd take Bricklink sales with a pinch of salt, there's no way of proving if the item was correct, or the transaction even took place. I'd say 3k for a White Huna is very extreme, there's a few of them out there, I wouldn't put it anywhere near the Sky Kakama that recently sold.
  6. A little bit unfortunate that out of the ~80 he got there seems to be only 2 5's.
  7. AFAIK these were all picked up by one guy who bought them from a German BL store (listed as Kurahk Kraata IIRC). A bunch of weird stuff comes from the German Legoland factory store. Did you get yours from the same guy?
  8. "It is only the mask and we have to hold onto it because we are not sure if it is sskk or Wmkk. We were suppose to get it today from a collector but the package did not make it to us. As soon as we get it, we will try to see which one it is. It should it have been listed today it is a mistake." Response from the seller. Another false alarm.
  9. Alright, who saw that BL SSKK, what was it? =D
  10. Actually got a Bricklink alert for once. Is this the same White Huna showing on the price guide as selling in April, or a different one?
  11. Are you allowed to link said group here? Sounds like somewhere I should be.
  12. At this point I'm pretty sure we've seen more generic un-carded SSKK than we have carded ones. Does lead in to my theory even more 😂.
  13. WMKK for $2000 is mental. I know most of them by now are squirreled away in the collections of the big collectors from back in the day. How big can this bubble grow! Have I ever mentioned my conspiracy theory that there never were 72 SSKK 😂. As for the supposed display piece WMKK... it does look very shiny, even compared to brand new ones without 20 years of tarnish like mine. It seems feasible that they could have been on some sort of display, but without the bag and the card I personally don't see any value in it. Plenty of people have made passable metal 'reproductions' over the years. If it was still on the display itself, that would be an interesting piece.
  14. In the art world I guess you would call it a reproduction. In this world I'd just call it fake.
