  1. Okay so I was cleaning my room and found that little lore booklet that came with one of the old Bionicle card games. I’m curious to see just how much was dropped/retconned/etc. “Once a paradise, the island of Mata Nui has become a place of darkness and fear, ruled by the evil Makuta. But the islanders, known as Tohunga[…]” Well that didn’t take long. “Onua, the Earth Toa, watches over the land and intervenes to restore balance when it is threatened.” Onua is Zygarde’s new form for Pokémon Z it’s confirmed “Tahu, spirit of fire, is the oldest of the Toa, having been created when the planet was forming.” When the planet was forming? Well…sorta… “With his fire sword, Tahu keeps the lava moving towards the ocean, much to the annoyance of his rival, Gali.” Tahu u little brat “Lewa, the youngest of the six Toa, is the spirit of air.” They have been hanging on to that for quite some time, haven’t they… “The Tohunga believe [Gali] is the sustainer of life, and worship her more than any of the others.” Gali 4 fav goddess They reversed the image of Kopaka in here. I could maybe deal with the sword and shield being on the wrong hands, but seeing the Akaku mirrored is just…*shudder* “They are careful not to anger him, though, being fearful of the landslides an enraged Pohatu can unleash.” Something about the phrase “an enraged Pohatu” just makes me chuckle. Like has he ever even gotten beyond “mildly irritated”? (Kanohi Hau) “Provides protection against overhead attacks or falling objects.” But you’re screwed if they attack from straight ahead. “[Matau] can also fly[…]” Wait what “Nokama’s tool is a fork-shaped staff[…]” Apparently “trident” is too advanced a word for the target demographic “[Nuju’s] closest friend among the Turaga is Nokama, and the two silent Turaga often pass their time in winter on frozen Lake Naho.” I wasn’t aware that Mata Nui actually had seasons. Also I ship it now. “Here Whenua and the rest of his tribe toil to quarry the great rocks that will eventually be carved by the Pohatu Tohunga.” Personally I prefer “Po-Matoran” “[Le-Matoran] also show affection be imitation, a gesture that is often misinterpreted by those unfamiliar with their customs.” Okay I don’t remember this and it sounds slightly freaking adorable “Ga-Koro is also home to a great mystery—Gali’s shrine is missing a mask. Many would-be adventurers have set out to find the mask, never to return. Nokama has recently chosen new champions in an effort to locate the missing mask once and for all.” Hello epic-sounding aborted arc, I am now angered by your non-existence

  7. My grandmother put a hole in the bottom of her sink, so my dad and I offered to replace it. Things I learned and or random commentary: When using a screwdriver to punch a hole in a metal outlet box, realize that your hand should not be on the other side of the hole you are punching out. It will hurt, and bleed. Outlets are a pain to wire in when you can't see what you're doing. GFCI outlets can be wired wrong. (Ok, technically I knew that.) If you are screwing in a screw above you, realize your face is underneath it and be thankful it wasn't a gosh darn drill. Old sink pipes are disgusting. No, I haven't gotten all the sink securer things figured out yet, I'll tell you when I'm ready to give up. It's only been like half an hour. Can we drop it now? Drills are a pain to use in a tight space. What kind of special person wires a flipping garbage disposal to a switch using a 3 way wire outside of a box? The amount of things that could go wrong is astonishing. You don't do that. especially under a kitchen sink. (Seriously, the wire pigtail fasteners where just hanging under the garbage disposal. That's so very incredibly bad.) Why is the dishwasher leaking? That about sums it up.

  9. Or is getting a separate google+ page / youtube account a lot more complex than it needs to be? I felt like I was going around in circles, turns out there's an option right there on the left side of google+ Well, between website, youtube, and google+ page, I'm poised to begin marketing Power Lies Beneath when the time comes. Man, that took a lot longer than it needed too. *Also there might be another google account floating about now...

  10. Every time I think about Gmail, and YouTube, and Google+, my brain just goes on lockdown. I just don't understand the interconnectivity of it all. It boggles me how the interconnectivity between these things is so unnecessarily complex. If it wasn't for the fact that my school forced me to use Gmail, I would have given up trying to figure out after day one. I'm still trying to figure out how my Gmail accounts are linked to YouTube and I still don't even know what Google+ is or how to use it or what it's good for. Anyway, that's my mini rant against all three of those things. I know I'm not a real tech-savvy person to begin with so maybe that's why I can't figure it out. Although I was, as of this morning, able to comment on BZP's YouTube videos with a BZP name so I think I made some progress.

  11. Ahhhh it is. It was extremely frustrating when they first rolled out the merger. They made it a little better since then, but it's still really frustrating to have to specify that I want to browse as my YouTube account instead of my Google+ account every time I visit YouTube.

  13. My track record of love: friends, acquaintances, pets, one-sided crushes I never acted on. Any advice I give must be taken with copious amounts of salt grains. Um... yeah, not sure what to say. They say a flip of a coin can tell you how you really feel about something. Heads you act on it, tails you don't. If it stands on end, make a romantic display including a boombox, a rainy night and a giant monster Panda that could potentially level three square blocks. (I think I see why I have not had a romantic relationship. My answer for tails is far too simplistic). Try it and make note of how you felt when you saw the outcome. Also, don't feel ashamed about lying to a coin. As for acting on it, though, it might be a good idea to think about what you'd want out of a relationship at this point in time. Just keep in mind that you don't always have to play it safe. You have every right to take risks should you see fit to do so. Oh, I got a fortune from a cookie that might help too. Maybe not, though. "If you want to win anything-a race, your self, your life-you have to go a little berserk." (Iamstealingadvicefromcookieswhatiswrongwithme)

  14. Hey, BZP community. I know I haven't done much for you, but I need a little help. I'm in love with someone. I feel like I was meant to be with this person. I don't know exactly why I feel this way, but I do. But there's a few complications. I'm pretty sure the person is not romantically interested in me. We're incredibly good friends (maybe best friends?) and I am pretty sure that at one point she did have feelings for me. It might be my generally low self-esteem talking, but I think that she doesn't anymore, possibly because I didn't realize my feelings for her until it was too late. Which is disappointing, considering that I probably had a much better chance of being with her then than I do now. I don't even know if I'm what she's looking for in a person anymore. Also, I don't really know what I'd do if I was in a relationship with this person. I've never been in an actual relationship as such before, and to be honest it's a little scary. I've never been the best at expressing my emotions, and I'm afraid that I would not be able to properly do so even if I was in a relationship with her. Please, leave some comments below. They'd be greatly appreciated guys. <3

  16. Sooo... 'bout them religious themes that LEGO avoids... Goddess Gali was too fabulous and would've spawned an actual religion so they changed it so parents wouldn't complain That is the only logical explanation right?

  18. These were funny. I know the old Bionicle board game has some outdated bios in it, like with the Toa's ages, but apparently not as much as the card game. Also, in the early years I head-cannon-ed that the ice characters were female (ice = water = girls) so Nuju and Nokama together would be like two BFFs hanging out away from their male companions. That I would ship. But yeah fun stuff, thanks for sharing.

  19. Before the days of Hulu and Netflix, we were so big into SG-1 we bought all the DVDs. Ten seasons later, it still remains one of the highlights of our collection. Yeah, Heroes was very emotional. I'm also very fond of the episode Ascension and a few other episodes from various seasons that I can't name off the top of my head. Then there's always comedy to break up the tension. Urgo anyone?

  21. I pretty much agree with this. I'm also mostly socially inept, so take my advice with a whole box of salt. But I've found that when I look back on my life (all 19 years of it.) I generally don't regret many attempts I've made to express those types of feelings to someone. Though at the time it was beyond terrifying. Knowing that makes it somewhat easier for me. But it's still terrifying. (This probably is due to a lot of things ranging from normal fear of rejection to feeling worthless most of the time.) And I never had anything to lose by perusing them. (Within reason obviously.) But, I'm not in your shoes, so I don't have an answer for you. I can tell you what I'd do, but that only goes as far as my experience, which is mostly negative in that area at this point. But unless you think going after her would either offend her or anything like that than it's really up to you to figure that out. And as i mentioned above, I have little self confidence as well, and if somebody did say they liked me I would probably go through something like the five stages of grief. (I'm honestly not sure how much of an exaggeration that is.) So I can sympathize with that, and how much it sucks.

  22. Predicting other people's feelings is ridiculously hard and notoriously fickle. Sometimes the people you don't think like you actually do, and vice versa. Basically, people in general are strange. Romantic interactions are not really my strong suit (#INTJProblems), but the advice I'd give anyone is to just ... be honest. It's easier said than done, I know, but if this is something you really want you'll find a way to try and make it happen.

  24. Hmm, I'd advise from my experience to try and take things easy. You're definitely old enough to fall in love. I was about sixteen when I fell in love with somebody I knew online. However, being able to understand that emotion and how it will affect other people is a whole other matter. I'm not saying to dismiss your feelings. You're the only one qualified to determine whether they're real. But at the same time, acting on them might not be a good idea. You might not realize it, but confessing feelings like that for somebody can put an unfair amount of pressure on them. Unless they feel the same way, they might not be ready to reciprocate, and a person you really, truly love doesn't deserve to have that kind of weight on their shoulders. Of course, perhaps asking you to exercise this degree of caution isn't fair, either. If it is true that you are hoping for something more out of your relationship with this person than just being friends, it wouldn't be right to fawn over her while she's completely in the dark about it. I guess there's no easy answer. At some point, if you're sure about these feelings, you're going to want to be honest with her. Just be aware of the costs that might carry. Once she knows how you feel about her, that might change things between you no matter how she feels. Will knowing be be better for her than not knowing? That's what I think you need to think about.

  32. This is what I expect they will do if the game is localized. Since the story takes place entirely in the past, the connection to Phoenix might not even have to be mentioned in the game itself (depending on certain factors in the game itself, of course). However, there are a couple things that could stop this from working quite so elegantly. The biggest would be if there are shared locations between this and the Phoenix Wright series. Particularly the series' most distinctive natural landmark, Gourd Lake. In any case, as people have pointed out, the games have never been all that realistic, even in the original Japanese versions. Allegedly, the first case of the first game takes place in 2016, but all the cell phones are incredibly low-tech by today's standards.
