Most people think puzzle games through and figure them out through intelligence and wit. I just smash the square peg into the round hole until it breaks the hole big enough to go in.

Ugh... Ever since we first had hints of a Bionicle return I've been dreading this. Now that leaks are in the wild, newbies are posting them everywhere they can, including BZP, despite the rules forbidding it and the fact that the leaker could lose their job for such a critical breach of contract. At the same time, I've seen a lot of people dismissing them because they "look shopped" despite the alleged source of these leaks involving what would be a photoshopped image even if it were real (in that case, it would be shopped by THE LEGO GROUP). Personally? I think the leaks are real (given that faking them would require a great deal of work including poorly photoshopping well-designed graphics as well as faking more than a year of non-trolling interaction, not to mention making legit Hero Factory leaks in previous years), but I also want to try to inhibit their spread. So I end up trying to play both sides, explaining the rules to passionate newcomers but also trying to explain to friends that maybe they'll look a little silly if they nitpick leaks that may well turn out to be real. And this is only the start—if the leaks ARE real, I'm due for a long period of dealing with Bionicle fans eager to dance on Hero Factory's grave, smear people like myself who tried to temper people's high hopes or evidence-free predictions for five long years, or at the very least view Bionicle's return as "destiny". Not to mention the folks who are furious when they find out that the new sets use the Hero Factory building system. It's gonna be interesting. I might end up withdrawing from BZP again if the level of discourse gets as bad as it did five years ago, when Bionicle itself ended.

Y'all need to chill the heck out There isn't anything I can say that hasn't already been said probably but whatevs Maybe it's real. Maybe it isn't. We're not going to know for sure until we get an official word and/or it's 2015. A little hopeful excitement is understandable, as is a little pessimistic displeasure should it be true, along with some irritation should you think it's fake. But seriously: chill out People of all stances have been taking this way too seriously. Even if it is fake, that doesn't give you the right to chew out those believing it. Even if it is legit, saying it's going to be A. the greatest thing since sliced bread OR B. a sign of the apocalypse is something you're guaranteed to be wrong about. I get that we all love Bionicle, but for crying out loud, people! Chill Out

I used to get angry about stuff like this But now I know the true meaning of ambivalence.

Honestly I was kinda torn about writing this because obviously I'm going to be shot down, but I really want to get this off my chest. I don't WANT Bionicle to return. I know, it's likely not going to get the most positive feedback on a bonkles forum, but everything about this just feels... wrong. First off, if this happens, I shudder at the thought of the reactions. Primarily those of the bring-back-bonkles crowd- the whiniest, most obnoxious part of the fandom, now celebrating and dancing on Hero Factory's grave because they "won" by throwing temper tantrums over a toy line ending and LEGO took notice. I doubt that was the case. Besides, what are they going to do once New Bonkles ends? And then there's Hero Factory. I'm not calling it flawless- it was pretty far from that. Unresolved cliffhangers, a highly groanworthy TV program (honestly, can we even call it a show?), and, of course, the now-infamous Nathan Evo scene where he almost killed a bunch of babies just because one member of their species happened to be a criminal. That being said, Invasion from Below is possibly the worst place for the series to end- with an ending slopped together in the last twelve hours of production featuring the complete genocide of a species and yet another unresolved cliffhanger. I have to admit this doesn't really have much to do with bonkles, but if we could see at least one more Hero Factory wave that somewhat resembled an ending before bonkles' triumphant return or whatever the next constraction line is comes out, that'd be a lot better than what we have now. Unfortunately, given LEGO's track record, I sincerely doubt that'll happen. And lastly, possibly the biggest reason I don't want bonkles returning is because if it returns, it'll be, well, bonkles. Getting anything resembling 2001-2004 or any other period when bonkles was great is highly unlikely, and we'll likely get something more like the ending years of bonkles when the storyline was extra convoluted and Farshtey favoritism ran rampant. I don't know- the story serials were my least favorite part of bonkles. However, I will admit this: I will gladly accept bonkles' return if these conditions are followed: 1. The Toa Mata/Nuva return, and resemble the Toa Mata/Nuva 2. The storyline gives us some look at the story through the Matoran's point of view and doesn't portray them as worthless objects the Toa need to defend (assuming New Bonkles has Toa and Matoran) 3. The Piraka return, because from any perspective, ironic or otherwise, they were a lot better than that big gold thing from the serials (addendum, actually, I'll just lock this entry because I don't feel like dealing with fallout. if a staff member informs me that for some reason this entry needs to be removed, I will gladly do so. otherwise, I'm sticking with my thoughts here)

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that you don't get excited by anything until there's concrete confirmation it's happening. And I gotta be honest: a blurry photograph uploaded on the internet by some stranger isn't really concrete confirmation to me. But we'll see.

You're a good person, Lyichir. I have high hopes that, regardless of whether the leaks are true or not, the Hero Factory naysayers will still look foolish in the long run, and not just because HF is the second most successful Contstraction line by a wide margin.

Not going to go into details, but I am convinced by the leaked images that have been seen. They are consistent with a lot of the hints we've heard, and the person who originally photographed and posted these images seems trustworthy. Furthermore, they seem consistent with BIONICLE on a thematic level: masked heroes with fantasy weapons versus beastly-looking villains. If it turns out they are fake and I have been tricked, I will not be the least bit ashamed, by this because these are the most convincing BIONICLE concepts to emerge in the past five years. I'm more than happy to concede a victory to any trickster or Internet troll who is prepared to go to such lengths to fool me. I anxiously look forward to official teasers and information. Perhaps the LEGO Group might be announcing something during Comic Con, or perhaps we'll have to wait until November or December when the LEGO Club Magazines tend to tease the next years' themes. Overall, I'm optimistic for the theme. The pics we've gotten are obviously not remotely good enough to form a definitive opinion on how I like the sets. But what I can see looks promising indeed.

Well, I don't even have any clue who's on Hero Factory's story team or how much it differs from who was on BIONICLE's story team. The only person I know for sure was on one story team and not the other is Greg. But my post was in response to the latter question. Keep in mind that a story depends on more than who's writing it. Greg Farshtey's Chima stories have a totally different tone than his BIONICLE or Hero Factory stories. I know one member of the old BIONICLE story team, Lena Dixen, is now working on LEGO Friends of all things.

Personally I think that there will be less drama for this than there was for BIONICLE ending, and what drama there is will be short-term. There's no way that the theme will be everything all the "bring back BIONICLE" people dreamed of, and perhaps that will be the push they need to move on from BIONICLE for good. Others in that group will probably be more accepting, and with any luck, will not be so belligerent about the new BIONICLE as they were with Hero Factory.

Earlier today, my grandfather died in a hospital a few states away. This wasn't unexpected, mind you. See, when I was on vacation at the beginning of this month, it was an out-of-state family reunion thrown by my grandparents to celebrate their 60th anniversary. My grandfather caught pneumonia early on, however, and had to be taken to the nearest hospital. He was there throughout the whole weeklong reunion and remained there even after everyone went home. My grandmother stayed to take care of him, with some of my other family members going there to be with her and support her during that time. He had other health problems far worse than pneumonia, however, which is partly why we didn't expect him to survive. So when one of my aunts called earlier and told us he passed away . . . well, like I said, it wasn't unexpected. But it does hurt. Not sure when the funeral is going to be. My grandfather is getting a military funeral because he was in the Air Force, but again don't know when that funeral will be, exactly. All I know is that life, as usual, goes on and will go on even after the funeral is done. My grandfather was one of the toughest and kindest people I knew. Always quick with a smile and a joke. He was always supportive of me and my brothers and was a great person all around. I'll miss him terribly. -TNTOS-
