  1. Happy April! This is where you can post out of character about the Six Kingdoms: Rebirth (SKR) game until the end of August, 2020. Please see the general rules, common sense guide, and BZPRPG rules of play for how to behave in this and all SKR topics. Lastly, remember, your characters are part of a collectively told narrative and no one has plot armor. There are no "plot post." Please make sure to chat with friends about what stories you want to form together, be they faction quests or personal journeys. Your GMs are Unreliable Narrator and Vezok's Friend I look forward to playing with you all! Conduct: Conduct is defined as anything requiring GM intervention for resolution. This can be facilitating the resolution of a scene or handling reports of rule-breaking. Please note, we only handle conduct for BZPower specific issues. We do not handle conduct related to 3rd party sites like Discord or Google docs unless the conduct directly involves the GMs (i.e. harassment in private message threads). If you have an issue with a player on those platforms please contact the appropriate support team. While we hope players can be kind and collaborative, we understand sometimes not engaging is the best solution. Reporting Conduct: To report Conduct issues, please submit a single PM on BZPower to the GMs. In the subject line please include “SK CONDUCT” along with the type of isse (dispute, rules violation, etc.). We will read and reply to these PMs on a weekly basis. Thank you for your patience in advance. Gameplay and Lore Questions: Please post all questions regarding gameplay, planning, and lore in the OOC Topic for the game. For visibility, tag both GMs in your post. We’ll answer these questions as they come up, or during the weekly news roundup on Mondays. P.S.: I couldn't NOT have a character demographics spreadsheet...

  3. IC: Sans, Turaga's Hut "Hmm." Sans got up and paced across the room. "Others have informed me about the vague existence of these southern threats... but their name.. 'Aspects...' Waveahk, I have an idea." The Ga-Turaga turned towards the mutated mercenary. "You've been a big help, huhuhuhu, around Metru-Koro these past few days. There are some who feel a bit uneasy about your presence, though. Here's what I'm thinking: since you already have one such parasite, and seemed to have interacted with at least one of these beings before, maybe they'll be receptive to you. Toa Stannis is working on a way to confront these beings, but it would be helpful if we had more intel on them. What if you went down there and tried to meet with them? It would be very dangerous, mayhaps even suicidal, but you're durable and strong, and if you formed some sort of squad, you all might fare better. Of course, you would probably have to treat with these mystical spirits alone, but a group could help you reach these Kumu Islets safely. How does this all sound to you? Would you be willing to venture south into the unknown and attempt to talk directly with these Aspects?" OOC: @Toru Nui

  4. IC: Sans, Turaga's Hut "Greetings, big blue. Or maybe you're bigger blue? We should've had you and Zataka stand side-by-side when we had the chance, huhuhuhu. Tell me, what are you talking about with this arm slug stuff? I admit, I have been a bit curious ever since noticing it back in Metru-Nui. How did you acquire that?" Outside, Sans' trusty cretaceous steed Papy seemed excited at the commotion at the door. "Nyeh! Nyeh heh!" It squeaked at the people, maybe hoping for a treat or some pets? OOC: @Toru Nui

  6. @Toru Nui IC: Pridak | Metru-Nui Coliseum Pridak watched the vahki go and brought the glass of his favorite drink to his lips. He wondered if one day Ehlek would try and rise against him, but he knew it wouldn’t be soon. Ehlek currently spent most of his free time breathing through a straw into a paper bag to try and replicate the experience of a rebreather. A toa of fire with toxic spores sprouting from his back entered the chamber and demanded a new task. Pridak couldn’t remember what the Zakazian cavern dweller’s last task was. “The archives could use tending to,” Pridak said after a brief thought. “After the crash many of the exhibits -- the ones not crushed during the battle by the bohrok -- got loose and are now running rampant. Perhaps you could use your talents,” he gestured at the fungal growths, “to sedate them. Along with the rahi I’ve been getting reports of scavenging villagers from outside making their way across the toxic lake. If you find them, teach them a lesson. This isn’t their land anymore.”

  7. IC: Reliable Narrator | Metru-Koro A tiny lizard listening to the conversation between the vortixx and the others in the ramshackle shantytown built over the graves of their lizard people grew deeply concerned about the vortixx saying, "a friend I own." But then, she was just a lizard. An educated lizard educated at a lizard school, but a she was still just a lizard. Maybe the bigger you got, the more you lost sight of the fact that ownership is a system of conscious thought dependent on self-awareness and the concept of separation from other things. Maybe being closer to the great fluffy sky cotton the birds called clouds increased one's sense of self importance. "By becoming self-aware, you gain ownership of reality; in becoming real, you become the master of both inner and outer life," her mentor Deepak Chopra wrote in one of his self-help books. Perhaps the vortixx sought to own themselves and placed this desire into their friends? She got distracted by a fly and wandered off into the grasses behind the boulder she'd been sunbathing on. She had more important educated lizard business to attend to anyways.

  10. IC Kilo-M9 - Metru-koro: Scanning for threats... No threats detected. Beginning night patrol in 2.6 hours. Atop the main wall of Metru-Koro, a metal guardian stood alone, staring out across the wasteland of Zakaz. By now the single sun was beginning to set, casting an orange glow upon the dusty expanse. For the machine known to most as Kilo-M9, it was the latest in a series of identical days. For the past few days, the mechanical enforcer had been acting as a guard for the newly-constructed Metru-Koro. After escaping the archives with Nale and Arkius the trio had found what shelter they could from their universe’s rocky arrival on Zakaz. Joining the exodus of former Metru Nui citizens was deemed to be the logical choice for the trio, leading them to assist with bringing supplies into the wasteland that was their new home. It was in those salvaging runs that the machine had obtained the new solar panel that was now mounted on its back. After all, there wasn’t going to be power where the refugees set up civilization, and the area near the fallen head was too dangerous to stay near when low on energy. When setting up the foundations of what would be the new village, some of the refugees had expressed concern at their new robotic companion. After living under the Vahki for so long, some citizens were less than thrilled about having another robot overseeing them, let alone an obsolete model that had rebelled against the cities attempt to destroy it. The positive testimony of its former companions and the obvious strength at moving objects and willingness to help started to turn public opinion to something that might eventually be positive. With the initial construction complete, it was logical for the former law enforcer to take up a position in the villages rudimentary guard forces. The machine’s abilities and lack of boredom or tiredness made it ideal for the role. Now, it would soon be time for the machine to leave its stationary guard post and begin patrolling the boundary of the makeshift town, as it had done the last few days. The solar panel meant that it could be always active in some way, though it also meant that the guardian had not entered sleep mode since before the cataclysm. Scanning for threats... No threats detected. Beginning night patrol in 2.5 hours. OOC: @~Xemnas~@Snelly@Tarn Feel free to come recruit Kilo for the treasure hunt.

  12. IC: Skyra Daring - Metru-Koro - "Alright, I'll be back soon~" Skyra waved as she walked off, grabbing a bottle of something out of the shack on the way out. As she walked through Metru-Koro, Skyra opened the bottle and took a swig of it before making a face. "The heck even is this stuff? Tastes weird..." She drank some more. It didn't take long before she could see Sans' hut in the distance, this drink was weird, but it was starting to make her feel pretty good! Skyra gasped as she saw a familiar figure coming out of the hut. "Hmmm? Is that Stannis?" Now Skyra didn't really know Stannis personally, but she was well aware of who he was. Back when she was still a Matoran the Toa had saved her from falling to her death. She'd uh, drove a vehicle right out of a chute that day if she recalled correctly. "Yooooooo Stannis! Heyheyhey!" Skyra started yelling from a distance at the Wanderer, started to run towards him before she tripped and fell flat on her face. "Ow." She promptly got back up and kept going like nothing happened. "Hiiiiiiii~" Skyra said as she reached the hut. "You probably don't remember me but like uhhhh...you met me when I was...shorter...like down hereeeeee..." She put a hand roughly at the height of a matoran. "Anywhooooo...what up Stan? I'm Skyra Daring! You may have heard of me...me and my wifey Rose cooked Carapar into roasted crab~" She took a long swig of her bottle. "What the heck even IS this stuff?" @EmperorWhenua@Toru Nui@Azibo

  14. While it's nice to have merch to collect, I find this to be a rather shallow take on all this. No franchise ought to be defined by material objects over the scope and significance of its narrative; if the toys are more important than the story, then the writers have failed at their craft. And, frankly, our wallets will thank us all if we're buying less bonks.

IC: Sidra - Earth Temple "There are Matoran, Toa, and Turaga back at the refugee camps. You're not alone anymore." IC: Zaliyah - Throne Room "We need to rebuild, and for that we need the Mask of Creation," Zaliyah replied, offering her Barraki a curt, hunched bow. 18. IC: Nektann | His hive of scum and villainy, Fort Nektann With Barius stepping aside Boss took the space. He owned it with his wide stance and powerfully sharp jawline. Chains dangled from his belt rattling with trophies from past raids as he moved to be fully facing Parnassus. He took a big sniff of the shadowy being. Parnassus smelled of the road and riding in the saddle of his hoverbike; he smelled of the musk of the southern swamps and of strange sulphuric chemicals. Boss smelled a deal maker in his hangar, and he’d make one. Once it suited him. “You come all this way for a paint job? What you want? Don’t got a lotta room to work on someone else’s ride. Takes a lot of expense to keep space open, you imagine. What you offering?” IC: Pridak | Coliseum Throne Room With the arrival of two more of his warriors Pridak realized he needed a system for easy dispatch and notification of his troops. Why did he not already have one installed? In the week of rebuilding, recovering, and wracking his mind about what went wrong somehow a basic system of communication hadn’t occurred to him. Why not a simple radio broadcasting system, or a text-based dispatch like the Dark Hunters used? “I am curious,” Pridak said, “about what you would do differently in these current times to improve the lives of our free people? Please, speak honestly. How would you improve our new home?” OOC: @Conway, @Burnmad, @Toru Nui, @Nato the Traveler

  24. Hi, I'm a newcomer to the game so hopefully this is all fine. Let me know if I have to fix anything. Name: Yaushe Species: Toa (former), spirit (current) Faction: N/A Brief Description: Most often seen as a van-like vehicle, though can sometimes be glimpsed as a tiny spark of static electricity when switching vessels. She retains the morals of a Toa, refusing to kill or allow someone to die. She can be a little bitter and sarcastic regarding her current state of existence. Background/Occupation: Yaushe is- or rather, was- a Toa of Electricity, who had taken her vehicle to a mechanic for repairs. With her Iden, she was inspecting the interior of the car for damage or signs of dodgy servicing when disaster struck. She woke, her spirit having jumped into the nearest vessel it could find: the vehicle itself. Her memory is hazy around the details surrounding her death, and just about blank for the time before that. She did, however, retain enough of her memories to know the body crushed under her car was once her own. She's elected to stay with the mechanics who were around her when she woke up, both for lack of any idea of what else to do and also because they're able to patch her up if something happens. She prefers to stay within the vehicle, but will begrudgingly switch vessels if required (such as for repairs or being required to go indoors), being nervous about the consequences of being in a vessel if it is destroyed. Flaws: Yaushe insists on keeping her vessels in top working condition and does not like to be in anything fragile, due to a persistent fear of what might happen were she to be without one. She is also often hindered by a lack of hands in most usable vessels. She is still deeply disturbed by having to witness her own body buried- moreso that she was not able to bury it herself. Powers and Equipment: Yaushe retains a little of her elemental power when in a powered mechanical vessel- likely due to the presence of electricity already in the vessel. The amount of elemental power she has access to is related to the amount available in a vessel. Unlike regular Iden users, something about the nature of her unfortunate accident has limited her to only be able to inhabit vessels within close range of the one she is currently inhabiting. Her inability to float around as a free spirit is either another side effect of the accident or a psychological issue, a mystery she doesn't know the answer to and isn't keen at all to find out. The vessels she possesses have to fulfil the normal rules for Iden users- either mechanical or "empty" (lacking a spirit). Her new state does come with some benefits, such as the retaining of her elemental powers to some degree. Vessels she inhabits also have a heightened resistance to damage from electricity, and she is able to interact with them (eg. being able to drive her van around while inhabiting it, being able to move motors and gears in vessels she is currently inhabiting, etc.). She is also able to communicate with the living world in her vessels, even if the object she's inhabiting lacks a speaker or other means to make sound. She's a very good driver, and due to her affinity for it, thinks she might have been doing something relating to driving really fast in her past life.

  25. IC Collector - Metru-Koro “I … I believe our friends were just wondering if you survived. I … I will inform them when I return to Po-Koro,” Collector answered, staring after this Toa Knichou. Did … shouldn’t he be more excited? His friends were alive, and still wanted to be friends. Why … why did he not see the value in this? He still possessed more than just his airship, and that ship could be sunk by a mere Skakdi’s eye beams. Might it not be Knichou? …No, even in the gloom and under the graffiti, Collector could see words the Taku written on the ship. It was Knichou, and he was wearing adaptive armor, the Vortixx knew the look. The late Nynrah Ghosts of Xia had always been agreeable with them, unlike the other Vortixx. Maybe they could have been friends… Collector was a bit lost with how to feel about this Toa, but still thru returned to their bike, locked it, and then headed into the refuge camp of Metru-Koro. Personally they thought the name was silly and redundant, “city-village” was the translation, and that was … why? Why not Metru-Nuva: “new city?” Still, it was up to the Matoran to name their new town whatever they wanted. Even if it was a poor name. As they walked towards Turaga Sam’s’s office, Collector could see a board erected in the city. They glanced at it, a Toa was asking others to join in hunting down Skakdi-Xa? That was … well, it probably would do the Matoran good to be more proactive, and with less Toa in town, Collector might seem more useful as a friend. But if the Toa died, and Metru-Koro fell without them… This refuge camp of a village still felt too fragile. But maybe things had changed since they were last here? They wandered about, looks like the green house was a lot bigger now. Oh, and there appear to be Toa in front of it. So many gathered, but there was a Skakdi here too? ”Hello, Toa-Heroes,” the Vortixx greeted them, eyeing the Skakdi, “You would not be here for the Skakdi hunt, yes?” OOC: @~Xemnas~ @Tarn @Snelly @Onaku

  27. The way I understood the info, is that Lego does not want anything anymore with CCBS because of environmental costs (kinda weird considering how much plastic those big DUPLO bricks need), and that he wanted to pitch AR/VR tech into it for a more story-focused approach. As I mentioned in another Discord server, I immediately thought of the recent new bioplastics they introduced in their plant parts; it sounds like an opportunity for LEGO to pioneer and master this new material with a G3/new constraction line - in a way it reminds me of how Valve pushes new tech to its limits when they make a new HL game (recent example: Half Life Alyx & VR). I'm into this with no expectation at all, and I'm willing to wait as much as it's needed - he's the mastermind behind Bionicle's original concept, and whether it's a continuation or a brand new concept, I have no doubt he has not lost his touch 20 years later.

  32. Name: Oreius Species: Toa of Fire Faction: Metru-Nui Description: Oreius’s body is orange and black. He stands a little shorter than the average height for a Toa, but he would be taller if not for the odd hunch he carries over his right shoulder blade, which causes his neck and head to jut forward. This lends him a perpetually hunched appearance, and does nothing to improve the glower that rarely leaves his face. Usually, his golden eyes are knitted in a frown and his jaw is set, betraying little emotion and less friendliness. He wears a set of silver-gray experimental armour. When the armour is actively being used (i.e. when kinetic force is activating the Kanoka), the power lines and the attached armour will glow gold due to the energy moving through them. This glow fades when the armour is not actively being used. (see Mask/Tools) Background/Occupation: Oreius’s history is about as penetrable as his perpetual scowl. He has served for centuries as a protector of various islands in the Silver Sea, moving from place to place as need calls. His original homeland is lost to history, but some say it was destroyed by an ancient power, and he has spent his life on endless combat as a way of atoning for his failure to defend it. Regardless of what drives him, he only stayed in one place long enough to defeat whatever threat it faced before moving on, refusing any thanks beyond provisions to get him to his next destination. Eventually, he joined Metru Nui's forces and served Turaga Dume as a military leader on the front lines of the war against the League of Six Kingdoms. Powers/Abilities: As a Toa of Fire, Oreius can control fire and heat in all its forms, from heating or cooling an area to creating powerful blasts and beams. He can absorb or release fire at will, and can detect sources of heat. He is also resistant to high temperatures. Having spent his life in battle, Oreius is a consummate warrior. His body is a weapon that he wields with brutal grace, honing in on enemies’ weak points and finding cracks in their defences. His martial skill is formidable, as is his knowledge of tactics and strategy. Millennia ago, Oreius was desecrated by the Aspect Stannis and received a kraata of limited invulnerability. As Stannis grows in power, so does he. Currently, the kraata is level 5, granting him protection from almost any physical harm, as well as immunity to environmental extremes. He is now strong enough to resist the elemental powers of a Toa Nuva. Mask/Tools: Oreius wears the Mask of Pain, a rare Kanohi that allows him to detect flaws and weaknesses. The mask is always on at a low level, informing him of the most effective way to incapacitate anyone around him. He can mentally focus to receive more detailed information, but otherwise, the mask will simply inform him of the most efficient way to inflict debilitating injury. Oreius carries a single short sword, which he straps to his back when not in use. This blade is utilitarian in appearance, bearing more resemblance to a butcher’s knife than the ornate weapons that other Toa often carry. The sword is one of a pair, but he lost the other while capturing an island from the League. To make up for his lost sword, Oreius donned an experimental suit of light armour. This armour is built to accommodate four Kanoka disks in four sockets. From these sockets run four cables, one to each of his limbs, where they attach to two gauntlets and two plates on the top of his feet. When one of these pieces of armour is subjected to sufficient kinetic energy (through a punch or a kick, for example), the attached Kanoka is activated and transmits its energy to whatever object was punched or kicked. The disks are permanently installed in the armour, giving Oreius the following powers: Freeze, Weaken, Regeneration, and Reconstitute at Random. Flaws: Oreius does not deal in subtleties or shades of gray. He sees the world in black and white, good and evil, and has made it his life’s purpose to root out anything that threatens the Matoran. As such, he will not stand down against anything he perceives as evil, and will fight until his last breath, never allowing thoughts of surrender or retreat. His armour can be disabled by severing or crushing the power lines that run from each Kanoka. If a connection is broken, Oreius can no longer activate that power until it is repaired. *** Name: Taja Species: Toa of Shadow Faction: Metru-Nui Description: Taja stands at average height for a Toa, with a slender, wine-red body and black armour that seems to absorb any light that falls upon it. Her blue eyes shine from behind a black Huna, and she carries a Kanoka launcher strapped to her back. Background/Occupation: Taja used to live in Ko-Metru, whose quiet streets and even quieter inhabitants suited her well, being sensitive to loud noise as all De-Matoran are. She worked as a scholar in the Knowledge Towers, where she studied the stars and translated the work of other scholars. However, unlike many scholars, she enjoyed more lighthearted pursuits in her spare time, such as disk surfing. When the Krom Sphere changed the skies, Taja travelled to Ga-Metru to consult with the Astrologist, Nixie. She met Okuo and Kohara, and they joined forces to recover Ga-Metru's Great Disk. Upon successfully obtaining the disk and returning it to Turaga Dume, Taja was transformed into a Toa, and she joined the battle for Metru Nui. After crash-landing on Zakaz, Taja joined the crew of the Taku in the aid of Po-Koro. She encountered the Aspect Whisper in the aftermath and accepted her offer of desecration, which unwittingly transformed her into a Toa of Shadow. Powers/Abilities: As a Toa of Shadow, Taja can create, control, and absorb darkness in all its forms, from casting an area into utter darkness to travelling through shadows to unleashing powerful blasts and beams. She can manipulate shadows to interact physically with the world, doing whatever she commands of them. Taja was desecrated by the Aspect Whisper and received a kraata of adaptation. As Whisper grows in power, so does she. Currently, the kraata is level 2, granting her the ability to adapt quickly to environmental extremes such as heat or cold, and making her impossible to capture the same way twice. She's a fair shot with a Kanoka, preferring it over using her powers. As a Matoran, she learned to surf at high speed through the chutes and canals of Metru Nui. Equipment: Taja wears a great Huna, Mask of Concealment. This mask has been modified to include silencers over her ears, which can be manually adjusted to allow more or less sound through. Her Huna also sports a custom lens over one eye that she can activate to enhance her vision, which aided in her work studying the stars. She carries a protosteel Kanoka launcher strapped to her back, as well as a small collection of various Kanoka disks. Taja also carries a set of great Kanohi masks on a leather cord strapped to her back. These masks were looted from the Grand Temple Ruins, and can be swapped with her current mask at any time. These are a great Hau, Mask of Shielding, a great Komau, Mask of Mind Control, and a second great Huna, Mask of Concealment. Flaws: Like all Kra-Toa, Taja is sensitive to light. Sunlight is merely an irritant, but light-based powers can easily do her great harm. Also, as a result of her unorthodox desecration, she suffers from void sickness. Symptoms include clouded thoughts, distraction, and an inability to discern what is real. She's slow to trust others, preferring to keep her own counsel. Being a new Toa, she is unfamiliar with her new powers and has limited control over them. She often feels useless and unworthy of the power she's been given.

  34. IC Stannis | Metru Koro "Thank you for keeping our faith alive and well in the face of catastrophe. Maybe you can have your hilltop home some day; time will tell where and when. And do not hesitate to request me should my experiences or powers be necessitated more directly." The elder toa then got up, sucking at his pipe, and bade his farewell. "Mata Nui be with you, Turaga Sans." He stepped out of the hut into the evening air and relished in the opportunity to stretch his back out at last. As expected, the former Dark Hunter waited to be admitted to the hut or, more specifically, for Stannis to leave. He looked to the blue-skinned Stelitan. "The turaga will see you now," he said surprisingly politely. "But—before you go in—what is your name?" @Toru Nui

  36. IC: Parnassus | Fort Nektann Parnassus glanced over at the first Skakdi to address them, and held up one finger as though to say, Gimme a minute here, my friend, before turning back to the Big Guy and grinning right back at him. "You're not one of mine, are you?" they said, tilting their chin towards one of the many -- many! -- kraata from this man's spine. "No offence or anything. It's not like I'm one to treat people like they're disposable or anything. But after enough people have come to you for a deal, some of them can, well, start to blend together a little." The Aspect waved a hand to the rest of the Fort. "You get it, right?" they continued. "Operation of this size, I can't imagine that you remember everyone you interact with on a daily basis." With that, Parnassus slapped the side of their hoverbike. "I've heard a lot about you folks as well, to be perfectly honest and reciprocal," they said. "Heard you folks are some of the best mechanics currently working. Now, my pride and joy right here is riding a little worse for wear nowadays, and I was hoping I might be able to bring it for a bit of once-over, you know? What that be all right, Mr...?" OOC: @Burnmad @Unreliable Narrator IC: Irna | Metru-Koro Gates Irna, having been left holding both the map and new task, watched the Vortixx run off towards the airship for a moment. Then, looking over at the remaining sentry and giving them a shrug, she made her way back inside the town. Tucking the map underneath her arm, she slowly made her way over to Sans' hut where, waiting outside the door, she spotted ... what was his name again? Wave-something or other. "Hello there," she said, giving the massive individual a small wave. "Are you waiting to see the Turaga as well?" OOC: @Toru Nui -Void

  37. Been following Faber's IG since last year when he first teased #14B2020, I totally forgot my BZP password but this news is enough for me to miraculously remember it and break the silence. So Faber is in talks with people. He will be attending meetings. The door is open to Bionicle returning in some shape or form, and he's inviting all of us on the journey. This is really exciting. It may not pan out - Faber says this is no confirmation of anything - but for me, this is confirmation of something important: That there is still interest in Bionicle. To be able to have an open discussion about that is quite exciting. No more cryptic updates. Next we'll know for sure, but until then hope has been successfully instilled. Based on what Faber was saying about parts being discontinued and that everything we own is rare and important, this sounds likely. I would be okay with the story continuing in some way while the character models are posted to us to build with our existing parts. Or an extension of those canonization contests back in the day where the fans build the characters? Either way, count me in. I really hope this works out! -NotS

  38. IC: Skorm (Metru-Koro) Skorm sighed again, deeper. "I figured you would ask something like that, you are the type." The toa looked at his reflection in the water. "I don't think I can stay here for too long, but I do owe you. I'll help."

  39. IC: Nale Vella - "Po-Koro" "I'm no medic," Nale replied, "I doubt I'd be of much use." With that, Kanohi strode off, and the Toa of Magnetism sighed. Looking to the horizon again, she could see the sun was setting. Getting used to one sun had been a bit jarring, after spending all her life inside the giant robot. And those weren't even real suns to begin with. She went inside. The place her and Arkius had been staying was hastily put together not long after they'd left Mata Nui's head, but for now it was home. Their home. The bed was little more than a cot in the floor, barely big enough to fit her and the Toa of Earth (especially at his size), and the entire structure creaked as if it would collapse at the slightest breeze. A single lightstone affixed to the ceiling was the only light source. Nale rested her spear in the doorway and sat down on the edge of the bed, the sunlight outside continuing to disappear and bring darkness upon the village. Nighttime in this strange new land frightened her, truth be told, as she never knew what was lying just outside the reach of their lightstones. She decided to lie down, but the Toa in her was telling her to stay alert and keep watch over these refugees. A Skakdi had harmed a Matoran and threatened Po-Koro, and she could do little about it except give advice. Nale shut her eyes. And then opened them, upon realizing she had a returning visitor. The Fa-Toa got up from her bed and returned to the shack's doorway, taking hold of her spear. Kanohi once again stood before her. "I...can't come," she replied, "but I'll see what I can do around here. Go along, Kanohi. You have a Matoran to find." @Harvali IC: Datrox Karvan - Metru-Koro "Indeed. I suppose not many here knowing me is...a good thing. I feel as though I've been granted a new start, but by who..." I glanced off in the distance, towards the dead god, "...I do not know. Perhaps I have made my own destiny." "Seems like it'll be dark, soon. Do you have a place to stay? I confess I have been wandering these streets since the Koro was constructed, going from place to place. It'd be nice to spend a night with a roof over my head." @Toru Nui OOC: @Biological Chronicler Nale is currently at her shack, not in the middle of the village.

  40. IC: Sans, Turaga's Hut "I shudder at the thought... or maybe it's just gas, huhuhuhu." Sans laughed at his own joke, as usual. He wanted to show Stannis that he was still the same light-hearted man even if these times were trying. "In time, then. I hope you don't go alone; please remember that no one asks you do everything by yourself. We can't afford any reckless heroes in these times. Do you have any concrete idea as to what lies in the south? Tell me true, what have you heard lurks in those swamps and jungles?" Sans looked at Stannis, their old eyes meeting each others. "Thank you for staying, at least for now. The new Toa especially look up to you. I hope you guide them and give them some idea of some way they can help, whether that's directing fortification or construction efforts, organizing exploratory squads, or working to solve this island's new mysteries. Please, though, let me know you're leaving before you're gone. If you're heading out, do be careful, and kind. And send the big blue guy in. He came here for some reason, no doubt. I think I'll stay here the rest of the day, if I can get away with it. It seems these days that people seek me out often enough that it's good I stay stationary for a time." Sans looked towards his window, and saw the rays of the now-setting sun penetrating his humble hut. OOC: @EmperorWhenua

  41. IC Kanohi - Po-Koro The little Fe-Matoran got to work, checking in with the Matoran, mending any of the crude stone huts that he had neglected healing. As he was working he walking past Toa Nale, and hesitated. He … she needed to be informed. Kanohi swallowed, and then said “Toa Nale, um, the Ko-Matoran was traveling with another, a Vo-Matoran who was run over by that Skakdi. The Skakdi was the one who broke the Ko-Matoran’s mask too. The other Matoran may be alive, but either way we … we need to find her. And if she is … we need to let her rest. There is something else too, she was carrying a weapon that we might be able to use to grow a Knowledge Tower. That might mean a new shelter for Po-Koro, a sturdier one.“ ”I am going to try to find her and the weapon. Another Toa has come, I do not know their element or their mask, but they said they will help. But … would you be interested in coming too? The other Toa can fight for us, I would not ask you to fight. Otherwise … would you mind helping out at the camp while I am gone, to mend what tools and machines we have with your powers? I hate to bother.“ But it is your duty. OOC: @Tarn

  42. IC: Zaliyah - The Coliseum "Fair enough," she nodded, following him into the elevator. IC: Xane - Irnakk's Tooth "Nightmare pits? My homeland didn't have any of those," he mused. As much as he disliked giving credence to stereotypes, the skakdi of this world truly did sound savage. But not all of them, evidently. "I get the impression you don't put much stock in the beliefs of your people?" He asked Enra. IC: Sidra - Earth Temple In one sentence, Sidra had learned more about this land than she had in a week. "So there were Toa and Matoran here before the skakdi came? Did your people build these temples?"

  45. As soon as the announcements hit, I packed as much up from my apartment as I could and moved back home. While I don't like having to be alone, I'd much rather be alone out here than in the city. It's much safer, and I think it's better for my mental health too. At school, I felt lonely unless I got out and socialized every day. Here, I feel less lonely overall even though I'm actually all alone most of the time. That said, I do miss seeing people on campus every day in person, and I've lost contact with most of the acquaintances I wasn't all that close with. And I much prefer in person classes to online.

  47. IC: Tekmo (Black Spike Mountains) 'Robots showed up and trashed the market'. Well, that wasn't untrue. "Yes. What she said." IC: Waveahk (Aqua Magna Shoreline, The Aquarium) Slowly, The Aquarium began to hover closer and closer to the Bell, before setting down a few feet away. It considerable time and effort, but eventually Waveahk and Vrokdann were able to get the Bell aboard the ship. Waveahk decided it wasn't worth it to take it all the way to the cargo bay, instead they just left it in the boarding ramp section. As the automated flight path took them back to New Atero, Waveahk decided to try and get to know Vrokdann more, so that he knew what to expect when she inevitably turned on him. "So... what exactly possessed you to shoot lasers at my stand?" He referred to the incident that ended up indenturing Vrokdann to him, back in the New Atero Marketplace.

  49. Well that is how I retcon the references of romance with the "love isn't canon" rule. Velika "hacked" the Matoran to give them sentience, but its likely the Matoran took on the Great Being's and maybe even Velika's views of life as a result of that hack. If we take Legends of Metru-Nui and Web of Shadows; we know marriage is canon (i.e. Sidorak and Roodaka) and the Matoran have a concept of romance (i.e. Matau jokes about it with Nokama)... but we also have to reconcile that with the "love isn't canon" statement. I take it then that the relationships we see in particular with Hewkii & Macku, and to a lesser extent Jaller & Hahlii and maybe even Vhisola's attitude towards Nokama; are not love as biologically reproducing creatures such as humans, Agorii or Glatorian would understand it; but instead more like a child just mimicking what they see their parents and adults do. Like have you ever seen a seven year old confess their love to another kid and then go around holding hands? Its innocently cute, but its hardly what an adult would consider to be romantic love. I think that is pretty much the Matoran extent of understand of romance, gender and sex; they know it exists even if only via just weird bits of programming and knowledge quirks left over from the Great Beings... but they really lack the full picture to completely grasp what they are doing. So Hewkii and Macku hang out, and their actions would seem romantic to a human viewer; but between Hewkii and Macku the intent is really just the same as the little kids holding hands I mentioned earlier... just parroting and copying what their creators the Great Beings would have done... without fully understanding the intent. Again, Velika (and maybe Tren Krom or Mata Nui) would be the only beings in the entire MU to really understand a natural world as we the human audience would, and since it was Velika who screwed with Matoran programming to make them sentient in the first place it seems likely a lot of Matoran behavior just is copying his own personal opinions, biases and world views. Like to put it in Greek terms, Matoran understand Agape and Philia definitions of love, love for their common matoran, love of their deity Mata-Nui, and the purposes of charity and brotherhood (Unity, Duty, Destiny and the like). But they lack the idea of Eros, romantic love and anything the Matoran do that resembles romance as an adult human/Agorii or Glatorian would understand it is really just a subconscious childlike attempt to imitate what the Great Beings understood while lacking the context completely. In a meta sense, its almost representative of a company ran and operated by adults (Lego) trying to make an epic fantasy world for children (there is a small part of me that wishes Greg never really canonized the Great Beings as a Glatorian group... I would much rather pretend they are far futuristic human-like characters with funny names for the Matoran such as Thompson, Faber, Farshtey and Swinnerton... ) Back to gender, its really just a side affect of their element for most Matoran, and to our knowledge the Av-Matoran were the only group of Matoran that had both genders represented in their ranks. So if anyone where to question the purpose of gender, it would be the Matoran of Light; because for everyone else the real important societal identify is elemental affiliation. Of course the more interesting aspect is the Av-Matoran hidden in society... again Takua spent almost his whole existence thinking he was a Ta-Matoran and there are countless unidentified Av-Matoran scattered across the former Matoran Universe who probably are unaware of their true elemental affiliation due to the Time Slip.

  50. It's been years since the introduction of Mask of Time Duplication and the alternate realities of the Olmak, but I recently had thoughts that probably won't have a confirmed answer: What would happen if three of the same individual (example: Toa Mata Tahu, Original Tahu Nuva, and Toa Nuva Tahu Mistika) formed a Kaita fusion? (edit 1: looked back at old Greg Q&A stuff and said not possible for same element to Kaita fuse... although I wonder if it's still possible if there was one regular Tahu, a Fire/Shadow Toa Tahu, and a Shadow Toa Tahu) (edit 3: I know this isn't possible in the main universe, but what if another universe where this restriction didn't exist?) Would they still be the same person but with greater control over their (assuming that they have the same) element? (edit 2: same as the edit 1) If fusion components have the same/similar Kanohi (such as Hau/Hau Nuva), would its power be enhanced? I would like to know what others think on this topic. -Tomdroidser
