  1. I didn't say it was "ridiculous" (I often point out that's a bad argument; it means "able to be ridiculed" which could apply to anything from a different POV), but it would be inconsistent with past contests. In both A Thousand Years Untold contests (the ones most relevant here, being S&T story-writing contests), I set the number of categories from the start, and it was way smaller than the total number of protagonists entrants used in this contest. Here the theme required a "to be determined" way of categorizing. I noted in the rules that the polls might have narrower categories than what I ended up using. I could have forced a smaller number on the polls according to that, but I decided it would be best to judge each character individually first, since obviously no two entries for the same character can win; that's the logical place to start in determining the final categories. And I decided it would be too arbitrary to add other groupings in later, so it's based on popularity instead. Presuming voters are concerned with quality, this is probably the best way to do it all things considered. And if I forced there to be one per protagonist, there'd be a whole bunch of entries ushered in without giving people the chance to vote at all. Ungood. How many categories only have one entry? You could always group a few of those together.
  2. I went with 5, I'd say 3 as a minimum. This is the final farewell to generation one, we should ideally choose as many winners as possible.
  3. You know, I think I'm going to be a little sad when this is over. Seeing how this contest is going is pretty much the only reason I come back here. I know Bionicle's coming back but, at the grand old age of 18, I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I suppose it'd be satisfying to leave a mark on canon before I go
  4. I never read Time Trap, so I wouldn't know. I'll think of some way to amend it in the morning. Maybe set up that Dark Hunter cell TSO always wanted?
  5. 1. I didn't mean the damage kind of crack, I meant the crack around the edge of the safe door. Perhaps I could describe it better? 2. Yes, it is meant post-split, and "slightly more intelligent" etc. is indeed Zaktan begrudgingly praising Vezok.
  6. Ah, I think I get what fishers is getting at - it says somewhere in there that Zaktan didn't know he was made of protodites (more specifically, he didn't have any powers fit for the task that he knew of) which happened before Nidhiki defected. But maybe that could be edited slightly and explained away - protodites are too small to take objects out of the safe, or something.
  7. If you mean the training session with the safe, that's canon and I can't remember stating it happened at a certain time.
  8. I've noticed that too, could I rewrite a bit of dialogue? And would adding a bit more dialogue be too much? I've just re-read my entry and realised how little the other Piraka say.
  9. Oh, excellent, I must have missed that. Ooooooh! *many excitement*
  10. I've just remembered - Zaktan's officially alive again. Does that make my entry invalid? Or does it not matter since he's technically not Zaktan anymore, and pretty much every dead character is still alive on the Red Star?
