Well, I've been with Bionicle from its start, bought all six of every set that came out until the start of my Dark Ages, which started around 14. But I've read about people's Dark Ages a lot now, and now that I know about it, I won't be doomed to repeat it. I also like to juggle, play soccer, play footbag (the real sport with the hacky-sack), and use Lego Mindstorms NXT for my robotic purposes. In fact, I participate in FTC too, so my knowledge in robotics is quite extensive. But I'me here because I love Bionicle. May the legend live forever.

  1. Fellow UCLA student. Realy cool to see this. I'm a Computer Science and Electrical Engineering student, so free time to play with Legos is few and far between. But I'm glad others enjoy it even while at this level of academics. Makes me wanna go back to my Bionicles soon
  2. That was a piece of work! I love how there was no voice, but the movement of the characters still conveyed the text so well. And the humour was perfect for the setting too! Question is, will you please make more ? Or rather
  3. Honestly, I think Bionicle should be brought back exactly the same way it was introduced. And I would prefer it come back later, like, in 10 years or so. That way, my children can relive the whole experience, and I'd be there to relive the journey all the way. The excitment, the disappointment, the games (even the ones I missed right in the beginning). That's one of my many dreams. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Thank god. I was betting my friend when we went to go watch it that the theater would be packed. He wouldn't believe, thinking I'm stupid since it's "just a movie centered on Lego." The movie only had like, 30 people in it, so I was slightly disheartened. But now that I think about it, we did see the 10 pm movie the day before the official release in all the bigger theaters, and it was in Westwood, where all us UCLA bums go around at night Good to hear this though. I thought the movie was great! And after reading a technical analysis about all the references and jokes, I'm down to watch it a second time, and a third, and maybe a fourth. And then buy it when it is released on DVD
  5. But, I can't say I saw this coming, from a property standpoint. But it's sad that the last official mark of my childhood from LEGO is being wiped out. Good thing BZPOWER still exists
  6. I wish I lived in New York City again just to see that. Thank you everyone who worked on this project. My feelings of awesomeness are gushing out all over the place
  7. Quite interesting story. I like the idea of how the war was dealt with. Very calculated.
  8. I thought it was pretty awesome. But that may be because I have an arduino, and am always on the lookout for cool hacks/projects. And why not know something so trivial?
  9. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Really captured the mystery/horror vibe with the coin. One little thing, though it is extremely insignificant. I sort of twinged at the word "dwelt." I think I would have stuck to a simpler word; for some reason, dwelt felt a little bit forced. But the rest of the diction easily made up for that. I mean, "good bad guy" ? Absolutely brilliant!
  10. I always wonder the amount of dedication it takes to be able to produce such intricate mechanisms from mere plastic. Simply amazing work And now that I think about it, if he just creates a big enough bucket, he could dump all his axles in that machine in the morning, and come back at lunch and his whole collection is sorted, all while he is doing other happy-go-lucky stuff. It's so useful, I wouldn't mind purchasing one for my collection
  11. Man. I'm in college now, so I couldn't read as much as I wanted when I wanted, but in 2 weeks, I finished this. 2 WEEKS. I loved every second of it. Sometimes, I had to read the descriptions of the sunset or the lands to which they traveled twice, just so I could take it all in and imagine it. Just like a real Bionicle book, the plot grabbed me and held me tight. The action was always going places, and the tension was always high. What made it different, though, was that the tension was never high enough to realize that we all reminisce, whether we are on the move, about to fall asleep, or in the act of committing to something huge.I am blown back by your writing Cederak. You have my thanks for weaving such a magnificent and entertaining work of Bionicle art. Especially while I sit in my dorm, trying to do my math.
  12. Guys, chatting here will change nothing. So just wait patiently. That's a virtue, and it would be nice to have more of that around.
  13. What about something that resembles the fire emblem games, where you control the squad and you move your units and attack and such? I can imagine this kind of game being pretty effective with Bionicle, considering the vast number of settings, heroes, villains, rahi, etc.
