So I started reading Homestuck a few weeks ago, and I've just now finally reached the current point.

I sure as heck didn't see that coming.

Although the lack of ==> saddens me, it's good to know that I'm up to speed with the storyline now. I guess I can finally call myself a MSPA fan with confidence

Two MOCists of considerable skill will compete against each other in a month-long MOC-off in 3 different themes.
Lord Oblivion and I have been pretty much neck-and-neck in almost every contest (not to mention skill), and now is the time to settle who is the better MOCist once and for all!

    The three themes are:
    - Mecha/Robot
    - Obnoxious Colours
    - Switching Places

Stay tuned from April 10 - May 10 as we post our MOCs from each category. Check out the Flickr group for more info and join it if you want. At the end of the month-long period scores will be given out by our anonymous judges.

    May the best MOCist win!

So last night I celebrated my friend's birthday and mine in the same party with about 15 friends, even though mine's not really until Tuesday. Somehow over the course of the night I managed to kick a frog about 3m by accident, before it happily hopped into the room we were sleeping in and hurled itself at me.
I think I got about an hour of sleep this morning, consequently I'm none too bright for study and such. In other words, it was a good party.

Also, I just noticed that I'm on 42 posts Cool stuff.

Hey guys, sorry I've been inactive recently, it's taking a while to settle into the new forum

Anyway, the question I pose to you is: which HF set(s) would you recommend from the 4.0 wave? I kinda like Splitface, but what sets would you recommend 1) in terms of parts, and 2) in terms of set design?
Budget is under $20 AU per set at the mo, so unless you have magical persuasion powers I probs won't get Black Phantom.

On another note, I've been participating in the 2012 MOCathalon over on MOCpages (so far only managed to build one MOC >.<) and I'd love some ideas on what I could possibly build for the following categories:
    Darwin Awards
Show someone unintentionally killing themselves in the most ironic way possible. The crazier the better but it must be grounded in reality, to a point.
    Houston, We Have a Problem
These famous words must be illustrated through your creation. Not too many rules on this one, just make sure you can tie it in with the phrase.
    Ghost Hunters
Build a MOC based on ghost hunting. This can be something like the ghost-hunters show, or Ghost Adventures. The focus must be on ghosts, no vampires, werewolves etc.

Please, give me your opinions on stuff mentioned above.

You know you want to hug it.
    So I'm 16 today. YAY!
It just feels like a normal day, though. I'm nowhere near as excited as I was last year...

    Onto the MOC:
Ok, so it's a bit of a joke really. Except for the head. I might be just a little bit proud of that...
Haven't even tried using those Dinosaur pieces for about 8 years. Ahh the nostalgia...

I slept over at a friend's house last night outside, looking up at the stars. We saw quite a few shooting stars, but nothing spectacular... that is, until about 5am. An asteroid flew across the sky, glowing as bright as burning magnesium. It literally lit up the sky. Seriously, it was freakin' amazing. I've been trying to find pictures of it, but so far have been unsuccessful.
    Did anyone else see this?

As you probably all know, 2.0 parts are the bomb. Wish I could say the same for the storyline... but who gives a fudge.

    So, I got:
    Nitroblast
    Jetbug
    Furno 2.0 x 2.0 (yes that means 2 of them )

    My opinion on Nitroblast:
Not bad. I think the problem with all these villain sets (Firelord excluded) is that their heads are too far forward. I know they want to go for the evil, hunched-over look, but seriously, who the heck has a neck longer than their forearm?
For parts, this guy has a ton. Nothing unique when compared to the other villains, but his beefy ape-arm has a lot of the new limb pieces, which could be handy to some. Oh, and the red Meltdown bucket is cool :3

    Jetbug:
A much more solid set. The coloured pieces are to die for I would've liked to see a bit more armour on the arms, and some better weapon placement. The head has the same problem as Nitroblast, but a little less severe. Pretty cool set IMO.

    Furno 2.0
Meh. The same as all the other heroes. Plus he has silly goggles. I mainly bought him for the red parts (which might just be used on some upcoming COGs...).

Be expecting some combiners and revamps soon, along with some experimental stuff.

Oh yeah, and please slap me if I don't blog in a while. I keep forgetting I have a blog.

I often wish I lived somewhere wintery
So yeah, it was 60˚C in the sun today. SIXTY FREAKING DEGREES. Only 40˚C in the shade, but that's still sweat-worthy.
I'm just glad that my school has fans and air-cons

Well, I was just randomly browsing through my bucket of system Lego, when it hit me - there were tyres in there! I've been wanting to get some tyres for MOCing for quite some time now, and I've had some all along. I've already put some on Brain-E, thanks to the suggestion from Sumiki. Truly looks 10x better

And yeah, I was also extremely tired today. Not such a good thing when you've got an Indonesian test .

Looks like I won't be entering Partly because I've got too much other stuff going on and partly because I'm just slack.

But hey, new font. The old one was a bit plain IMO

Well, the polls are over, and the people of BZP and Piece Out have spoken. I'm also going to review the 3 finalists' MOCs

In first place we have Koltrin's Silex!

Wow. If I hadn't known it was made for this contest, I wouldn't have guessed that there's a HF torso in there . The overall presentation is very nice. The legs here especially caught my attention. The thin leg-section in between the upper and lower parts provides some nice contrast between the bulky armour plates on the other sections.
The use of pistons on this MOC is quite clever. Instead of filling up that gap with various other pieces, the creator went for a more mechanical look. The arm with the jetpack is very cool, especially with the tubing running up the centre of the arm.
The other arm is cool, but I think the flipping sword action could be a bit better. The grey piece on the axle of the sword also looks a bit off.

Koltrin will recieve this banner as his prize, custom made by Spectral Avohkii Enterprises. Don't forget to give credit!

Coming in for second place is Brahma's Versarak!

I had a feeling that this MOC would go far. Although awfully cluttered at some points, its sheer size is quite impressive. The torso is amazingly solid, and incorporates the HF torso very nicely (down at the crotch area). The Rahkshi backs on the shoulders look really good (I know from experience that it's hard to do this) and the weapon is cool beanz. The legs look quite skinny and unposeable, but the feet make up for this. Although too big for the MOC itself, the feet are very well designed, using pistons to attach the Takanuva blades to the feet. The wings at the back look great also.
Hey, I mean, what's not to like? It's a giant Visorak with antlers

In third place is Fakhri's Dunkan Bulk (Assassin Armour)!

This MOC, although using the HF torso in the standard way, looks awesome. Just look at that blaster arm! Those silver pieces just mesh together so nicely, especially with the aimer on top. The use of the Axxon mask on the shoulder looks good, although there is some bare space underneath.
The body is brilliant. I mean it. The use of those Thunder parts looks so cool, and the Inika leg-armour in the centre just completes it. My only complaint here is that the Hero core is too far down, and sticks out too much.
Ok, so I do not like the other arm at all. It looks far too skinny and bare, even though the creator tried to cover this up with the piston.
The legs are fine, but sadly lacking in originality. I think that a bit more bulk here could do wonders.

Congratulations to Koltrin and the other finalists! And thanks to all who participated in this contest

February MOC of the Month: Tabaris by SubAqua

The first thing that I noticed about this MOC was its colour scheme. Sure, it uses black as the main colour, but just look at the red and yellow bits! Sure, the grey bits here and there might disrupt the otherwise clean colour-scheme, but it doesn't really detract from the overall look of Tabaris. I also really like the robe, and the way that it's attached (using a Bohrok eye). The HF piece on the body looks very good, especially in conjunction with those Metru-brains behind it. The tyre around the waist, although of different texture to the rest of the MOC, is fine IMO. The legs are my real complaint here. The Metru-brains stick out too far, and look like they were just slapped on at the last minute. The lower legs look kinda blocky, but the yellow shin-guards cover this up nicely. Overall, I'm impressed that Subs managed to pull off this colour scheme so well. Sure, it's not a perfect MOC, but it's so original that I chose it for MOC of the Month.

So yeah, give me your thoughts on what you think of this MOC. I'm sure Subs will appreciate it too
