  1. I don't understand the justifications my friends come up with for continually doing this. I was playing Destiny with my friend and one of his friends and he mentioned that he almost finished paying off his pre-order for GOW4. When I asked him what he would do if that was a bad decision and it was a dud. He nonchalantly said he would trade it in. When I mentioned waiting for reviews, his freind, in a defensive, sort of offended tone stated reviews don't matter and you should decide for yourself weather you like it. I mean, that's fine, I guess, but I think you should at least wait to see that the game isn't broken. My friend also defended the AC game that launched a few years ago, stating that it was a new console and they didn't know how to work with it. One would wonder why they where willing to release the game and block reviews until after release. No, they knew exactly what they where doing. And we wonder why we get so many broken games....
  2. I'm not one for identifying based on race or gender really, but honestly, I'd be fairly satisfied with more characters that weren't obviously handicapped without making it a plot point. I guess mental illnesses sort of covers that, but I guess something more physical would be appreciated.
  3. Yeah working with someone who is also in your personal life can be.... interesting, to say the least.
  4. I was about to say that there is an XKCD for this, but that part at the end makes me think you might already know that...
  5. I think it has a lot to do with context. I think the way those stories are told it's not terribly important how they concluded but how they end up there. I think it's not unreasonable to assume that stories can be enjoyed in many ways for a variety of reasons.
  6. I had that scene in the force awakens ruined for me. I was a bit irked, but when watching the movie, I saw it coming a mile away anyway and probably would have regardless so.... No, the one that got ruined for me that still makes me sour is one of Transistors final scenes. I'm going to explain this and try not to ruin anything so bear with me. but if you've played the game I'm sure you know the part I'm talking about. Supergiant games have these nice little art pieces that accompany bits of story, in most cases, seeing one wouldn't really tell you anything as they're in much need of context to fully understand. But I was browsing the steam community (I know, I learned, I avoided Bastion's like the plague.) and I saw one that needed no explanation at all. when I got to that part of the game I saw it coming a mile away, but the way it was done I'm not sure I would have otherwise. I felt robbed of that moment and I can never truly appreciate it for what it was meant to be. That being said, Transistor is still an absolute work of art and a joy to play, not to mention unreasonably gorgeous. But I still feel robbed having not experienced it the way it was meant to.
  7. I really like the beginning fanfare in March of the resistance but other than that I didn't find a whole lot I really liked. It's not bad, just not as memorable for me I guess.
  8. That took far longer then it should have... great game though. Despite it being a decade old it still looks really good, if maybe a bit outdated. Things like missiles exploding and seeing Samus's face reflected in the visor where really nice touches. On to Metroid Prime: Echoes!
  9. I'm just really confused that they're bringing Wii U ports to 3DS when we have a console launching in six months. Not that it's a bad ting, those are good games and a wider audience is better. It's just odd.
  10. That is appreciated. Playing it further might have resulted in a very expensive mistake...
  11. This one took far too long. Really, really great game. Brought me back to when I played Zero Mission as a kid. Next up: Prime! If I can get through that omega pirate...
  12. I'm still working on super Metroid. Great game though. I still prefer Zero Mission as it's the first one I played. If you can find it at a good price, Kid Icarus: Uprising is really fantastic. Xenoblade Chronicles is really good if you're willing to say goodbye to 80 hours of your life.
  13. I may or may not still buy the occasional Lego set, transformer, etc. I've always found the "childish" thing such a strange concept. I'm an adult and I make enough money to buy expensive things like what I wanted as a kid. Of course I'm going to do that once in a while.
  14. Getting to spite a Junkrat in Overwatch. Oh, your riptire killed most of my team? Well isn't it a shame that HEROES NEVER DIE! This, BTW, is not because I got to give my team an edge in the match. No, this is purely because I despise Junkrat's ult and am sick of having it burned on me because I'm the healer. For all I care, my team can all get taken out because they don't appreciate me. I never claimed to be a good person.
  15. I was working on beating Metroid prime for the first time, but I need to go to bed because I need to be up early. So currently I'm not going to sleep like I should be.
  16. @Ghidora: Again, I can, I just don't know what. And it's a bit more of a delicate situation as not being able to go back to that restaurant would make me very sad. And yes, I picked up the joke, my friends make jokes like that all the time except Spanish because I live in Arizona and it's extremely common to encounter the language. I found it amusing and was simply responding with some playful banter to make it clear that I picked up what he was laying down, so to speak.
  17. Right, well see, I never think that, and I'm halfway convinced. There is some additional context here I suppose, but that was quite some time ago, so I'm going to go ahead and say it's irrelevant. I also seriously doubt that last statement Um... Is not what I would consider saying at all but ok?
  18. @ Spirit: That's a fair point, but the tips are given at the time of order. You go up to the counter, put your order in and pay, then they bring it out to you. You can give a tip (I always do), but I'm not entirely sure if they would know how much, seems like that might cause some issues... @Soran: To add to what's above, you're given a number and they bring the food to you. (It's a weird system), I'll be honest, I don't know anyone one there by name, first and last time I've given mine as well. It might also be worth noting that next time I went there that she remembered my name. I felt pretty bad because I didn't catch hers... @Ghidora: It's hard to tell. Most of them are fairly reserved. I'm not jumping to that conclusion really, others where. Again, I genuinely don't know. If I do the same thing I always do, nothing changes. If I do something, it could go well, but it could blow up in my face. And there are absolutely things I can do, but I'm not good at this and I don't want to put her in an uncomfortable situation. I would absolutely like to pursue this, I'm just not sure how to not am I sure I should.
  19. Okay, so I'm seeing if I can't get a second opinion that's in no way connected to my personal life. OK, so a little less then a month ago I was at a local restaurant with my family for my father's birthday. When I went up to order the young lady who took it made note that she saw me there often, (which is true) and asked for my name. (She also gave me hers but I was kind of panicking at this point and I can't actually remember it.) Now, my family is convinced that she was flirting with me. Based on my expierience being on both sides of customer service, I would not consider this normal practice, but my question to you is: at the very least, is that a reasonable assumption? My gut tells me that it's not, and even if it is a reasonable assumption I wouldn't know how to handle the situation, as it just feels fundamentally wrong to put somebody in that situation while at work. Anyway, I know that's a weird question to ask here, but it's been bugging me for weeks and I thought putting it here might allow me to vent it out and also get a second opinion. Feel free to move right along if you have nothing to say.
  20. 1. Obtain a self driving car so I no longer have to spend three hours a day to commute to and from work. 2. Get up the courage to talk to someone I find attractive. 3. Actually finish writing the book series I've planned out. 4. Move to Flagstaff. (It's another city in my state, it's much colder then most of Arizona.)
  21. According to Nintendo, Metroid and Metroid prime are separate universes. Make of that what you will. It appears to be right after Prime 3. There's a Marvel style after credits scene that is rather interesting, I won't elaborate here for spoilery reasons, but you can find it easily enough. I haven't finished it yet, but it's actually fairly enjoyable, I've played it in single player, and I played the blast ball demo. And while it's not what I want from a Metroid game, it's cool getting some in universe context for the other games.
  22. You can't hear it in the video as it's recorded from the main menu and not in game, but the rest of my team was singing praise for that. I'm really proud of this moment. (It's even better that I got to spite a Junkrat because the amount of times a Junkrat player has burned their ult to hunt me down and kill me is just really too high.) Oh hey, look there's my mouse. Can't fix it now...
  23. I got the Lucio Skin in one of the packs I got, which was pretty cool, I think I also got the Genji one. really want the Mercy one though. What platform do you play on?
