  1. IC: A small figure wove its way through the streets of Le-Koro. It was a Matoran of air, armored in white and green, the easy curves of a Miru sloping across its face. By his garb, it was clear that this Matoran was a guardsman, though the badge he wore had not returned to his chest until recently. Though off duty for the moment, his green eyes were bright and alert, taking in the city, evaluating it, embracing it. There was much experience behind those eyes, memories of friends found and lost, of goals accomplished and failed, of paths forged and abandoned. Nine months had passed since Lekua had abandoned his wanderings and returned to the Gukko Force, and his thoughts still drifted frequently to his life on the road. His path took him to the area of the city where the Force's birds roosted. It was not long before he arrived at the nest of Cyclone, the great kahu who had been Lekua's companion from the time of his enrollment in the Force up to the present day. The hawk greeted him affectionately, and the Matoran responded in kind. As he groomed and fed the bird, he reflected, as heroes about to begin a new quest often do. But of course, Lekua was no hero - this much he understood. Now, Stannis - he was a hero. He smiled as he thought of his former companion. What had ever become of Stannis? Lekua was unsure. He hadn't seen nor heard from the Maru of Stone since he had gone to Po-Wahi to visit some time ago. Yes, and during that visit, Stannis had acquired a handful of new companions - this Lekua remembered, though their names escaped him - who were most certainly heroes themselves. But despite his former yearnings for heroism - his desire to be The One who made a difference - this was not his role. It had taken him far too long to realize this fact, he felt, but the important thing was that the realization had occurred. On the road, he had been lost, aimless - searching for a path to glory that existed only in his mind. But in the Force his purpose was clear. As an individual he was of little consequence, but he was important as a component of a greater whole. He wondered briefly what Nichou would think of this idea. The last time he'd seen the Onu-Matoran, his closest friend within Stannis's Companions, was even farther in the past than his last meeting with Stannis himself. Lekua realized that he had been seated motionless for some time now, legs dangling over the lip of Cyclone's nest - not that this was a real problem, but he had some small errands to run. He rose, spoke a word of farewell to Cyclone, and turned back toward Le-Koro proper. OOC: Open for interaction.
  2. Thanks. A couple more specific questions: What's the status of Ko-Koro? What are the Dasaka currently up to in Ga-Koro? Also, assuming the Skype group is still a thing, could someone add me back in? I think I left by mistake a while back.
  3. IC: Vaíl, Ga-Koro Harbor Vaíl contemplated the vessel with interest for a few moments. Its construction was decidedly unusual; indeed, it didn't rightly resemble any craft she had seen before. Unfortunately, it seemed that the bulk of it was submerged beneath the water of the harbor, making any meaningful observation difficult. The Toa turned to her companion. "Thank you," she said. And then, with a slight smirk scarcely visible in the darkness: "I will." Within moments the pair had said their goodbyes and the Matoran was gone. Vaíl returned her gaze to the mysterious vessel, briefly contemplating investigating further - but no, a no-name low-life wandering around the docks at midnight wouldn't be looked kindly upon. Besides, it had been a long day already. Some real food sounded a good deal more appealing than a late-night swim. Maybe something a bit stronger than water to drink. An actual bed, imagine that. She opened her widget pouch to check on the contents. Should be enough. Taking note again of the harbor's layout and the submarine's location, she turned back toward the city.
  4. Yo. What's going on in the game at the moment?
  5. I'd be down for Corrin in Smash 5 if his game is popular internationally and he's a good character within the source material and he's still popular several years down the road. It's just too soon to tell. Also, I'm not really into Fire Emblem at all, but doesn't his Smash appearance involve spoilers for his actual game? That's an interesting observation that I hadn't noticed before. Still, online polls, unreliable though they may be, seem to indicate that K Rool and Isaac probably did reasonably well in the ballot, which I'd hope would indicate to Sakurai that they're popular enough to warrant inclusion. But, as you say, who can fathom the mind of the all-powerful Samurai? So anyway, where do I board the Sma5h hype train again?
  6. Last Smash Bros. Direct yesterday. Cannot believe that yet another Fire Emblem character is being added, and one from a game that's not even out yet, no less. I was pretty upset at first, but now I'm just disappointed. Corrin is the last Nintendo character to be added to Smash 4. This would've been a great opportunity to put in an iconic/classic character from Nintendo's rich history - looking at you, K Rool and Isaac - but instead they went for what's pretty much a blatant cash grab with FE Fates being released soon. As far as I know, pretty much nobody cares about this character. The very faint silver lining is that his moveset looks somewhat decent. No excitement for or interest in this character whatsoever. I am excited for Cloud, though, who's actually an iconic character who a lot of people have wanted in Smash as a pipe dream for years. Haven't bought him yet, but I plan to do so soon. I thought it was kind of dumb that so much time in the Direct was spent showing off his moveset (and the movesets of the other characters) - the important thing to show in the Direct is that something is in the game in the first place; I'd rather read detailed information on the website later. Eh. Bayonetta looks cool; she's someone I'd been hoping would make it for a while even if I've never played her games. I was pretty disappointed that they only included one character from the ballot, though, since there were doubtless dozens of characters who did well in the ballot and would fit very well in Smash. Ah, well, guess there's always Smash 5. I guess there was a "goodbye" closing sequence but I was too busy being sad about Wolf not making it to pay attention. Back to Project M we go. too bad PM died for a Knuckles Mii costume
  7. Pokemon distributions in general are pretty dumb. It's like on-disc DLC, except instead of paying for it you have to be in the right place at the right time.
  8. I only use it to retweet promotions where you can win free stuff. Haven't gotten anything yet, but it doesn't require any real time investment to use it that way.
  9. IC: Vaíl, Naho Bay In a few practiced motions, Vaíl started the boat's motor and directed her vessel after the Matoran's. She glanced again at the stars and paused briefly in concentration, as though she were trying to remember something. She shook her head and returned her gaze to the sea. [[timeskip]]
  10. IC: Vaíl, Naho Bay Vaíl shrugged. "Sure," she replied. She glanced at the water, through which a conspicuous fin was gliding in their general direction. She looked back up. "I mean, yeah, I'd appreciate that, thanks."
  11. For me it'll always be Adventurers. Man, those are some cool sets. What I wouldn't give for a new line featuring Johnny and the gang... After that it's Exo-Force. Had some really neat concepts and designs. Shame the story just kind of drifted into nothing.
  12. IC: Vaíl, Naho Bay "Weird," Vaíl said. Sparkly? she thought incredulously. "Any idea how they wound up here? Or why?"
  13. IC: Vaíl, Naho Bay "Right." The silence hung for several long moments. The Matoran didn't seem particularly interested in making conversation. For that matter, neither was Vaíl, not particularly - but there was one matter she needed information about. "I heard about some sort of ... That there was a bunch of foreigners that showed up near here recently - from across the sea, or something. Not any concrete details, though." She paused. "You know anything about that?"
  14. IC: Vaíl, Naho Bay "Mhm," Vaíl said, looking up at the sky. Then her gaze returned to the water. "Um, you look like you're from around here ... Tell me, are there always this many, ah, sharks out here at night?"
  15. IC: Vaíl, Naho Bay "Hope I'm not interrupting anything," Vaíl said, pulling her arm across her chest to stretch her shoulder - it was a bit sore from guiding the motor. "You don't see many people out here at night, especially on rafts."
  16. Not exactly the most polished MOC I've seen, but that's understandable given the limitations of combiners. The old-school vibe is a nice change of pace from the more modern stuff you usually see on here.
  17. This is sick. Only noticeable imperfection I see is the slightly rough transition between the waist and the legs. Everything else is smooth and fluid, and the MOC overall gives a powerful, menacing impression. The color scheme also works very well. Well done.

    New Project Incoming

Looking great so far. Can't wait for Sunday.
  19. IC: Vaíl, Naho Bay She sat at the center of the boat, though to be elsewhere in the tiny vessel would have been nigh impossible. Her left arm was stretched back, gently guiding the boat's small outboard motor as the vessel chugged steadily toward Ga-Koro. The bay was calm - nothing could be heard save the motor's quiet sputtering and the waves' soft lapping at the boat's sides. Vaíl glanced upward at the expanse of the stars for a few moments of appreciation before returning her gaze to the sea. Her body was relaxed, but here eyes were alert: she had seen more than a few takea fins slicing through the water that night, and while she knew the sharks would prove little danger to the wary voyager, to let her guard down would be to take a wholly unnecessary risk. An indistinct span of time slipped away into the night, and then Vaíl saw looming out from the water a murky silhouette, a silhouette which soon resolved itself in the glow of the moon into another small vessel. It looked to be anchored, and there was one passenger, maybe two. As she neared the boat, she cut the motor, allowing her craft to drift slowly up toward the other. If the person aboard noticed her approach, they gave no indication thereof. When she reached a comfortable speaking range, Vaíl raised a quiet greeting. "Evening," she said.
  20. NX is almost definitely not coming out next year considering that Nintendo presumably won't even be revealing any information about it at all until next June.
  21. [RAY]: Update [OTHER STAFF MEMBERS]: pls give update on BZPStuck's status if possible since the first command probably won't be happening soon
  22. Looking to get a fresh start with a new character. Anything interesting going on that I could hop in on? Anyone have characters looking for casual interaction / conversation?
  23. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is undoubtedly a great work of literature and I had a lot of fun reading it. Not sure how relevant that is to the topic at hand; just something that came to mind.
