  1. By the definition of "superhuman", yes. However, superhero comics/movies/etc. take place in the "real world", the occupants of which are obviously normal humans, and superheroes don't exactly "fit" in the world. Hence being fictional. But in the Bionicle world, Toa/etc. do fit. They're a part of the world. The entire world is fictional, not just the characters with powers. So I don't think Toa would be seen by Matoran in the same way that Superman would be seen by people if he appeared in the real world.
  2. Hmm. For characters, maybe focus more on Matoran and Turaga and stuff, have the story focus more on their roles in whatever troubles are going on in the world. Toa would still be there, and would pass through every once in a while, but it wouldn't be as focused on them. More of a civilian based team. Setting, maybe something between 01-02 Mata Nui and Voya Nui. The lush jungles and other environments of Mata Nui, but with a darker, twisted, mutated sort of setting like Voya Nui. Plot points, idk. I mean, I could come up with a whole story for it, but there isn't really anything specific I would look for or anything. Maybe something like Metroid Fusion, a bit? Fitting in with the twisted, mutated setting, some virus or rogue Protodermis or something that has begun infecting the world. Something like that might be cool. I wouldn't want something completely new for the franchise, but I would like it to have themes of earlier Bionicle (G1). I wouldn't want them to completely rehash characters and plot points and everything, though. We could do with a new set of Matoran/Turaga/Toa/enemies/etc. For the types of pieces, I'd like the blend they used in 01-02. Fairly based in constraction, but with a good dose of Technic as well, for functions and creatures and stuff. I'd also like there to be more cool small sets like the Rahaga (in contrast to the Matoran in like the Karda Nui era, just too boring). Maybe branching out in elements a bit, too? I'd like them to keep the normal six elements, but adding another one or two elements of characters and areas and stuff would be pretty cool. edit: Oh yeah, more Rahi sets (and preferably smaller Rahi sets), and more consistency in lore. It would also need something like MNOG right when it starts to establish the setting, atmosphere, and basic story of the series. I honestly feel like that was one reason G2 failed, it didn't establish a specific feel of the world early on, or even at all, really.
  3. I remember I used to have an unofficial "Bionicle Day", set on August 11th (because for some reason, there are no US national holidays in August). I would just make a point of playing with Bionicles that day or something lol.
  4. Lol I don't think you'll get reprimanded for that, it just references the concept of religion in a fictional world. I don't think you need to worry.
  5. you need to get back here bro

  6. B:TG has always been my favorite Bionicle game, so this is pretty awesome to see. I didn't know they cut stuff out, but it makes a lot of sense, given that not all Toa (both Mata and Nuva versions) are represented Oh man, this is really making me want to replay the game. It's been such a long time...
  7. I wish I could make it, but I don't have anyone to go with (wish my friend had military leave during then) and it's a long enough ride that I wouldn't really want to go alone. Hope you all have fun!
  8. I have a feeling this is about to get shut down by the mods, but I just want to say thanks. I own an entire collection of the Bionicle books (excluding the ones from Bara Magna, they always seemed kind of "different" to me), but having some in PDF form is very handy.
  9. Except that, as it happens, canon is everyone's, not just Greg's. Not really, though. I think a lot of the stuff Greg has released or "confirmed" since the end of Bionicle G1 has just been stuff he's come up with, not stuff that had been determined by the entire Bionicle creative team. There are some exceptions for sure, this one might even be one, but I wouldn't say that everything GregF says has been approved/decided/passed through the creative team. I mean, I'm pretty sure there have been places where he's contradicted himself with his "canon". Don't get me wrong, I love GregF, and love the role he played in Bionicle, but he's not exactly the best for planning. Aside from stuff like "such-and-such character dies" that LEGO gives him, he pretty much just came up with all of his writing as he wrote it.
  10. Kinda makes me sad, since the fan-made tracks will be made obsolete once it's released. But still awesome, and very surprising to me.
  11. You have to click+hold to charge up the shot. I think it's very nearly impossible if you don't do that. (Source: I was stuck on that forever my first time until I realized you can charge it.)
  12. Will Arnett would make a good actor for Kopaka, I think. He has a good lower sarcastic bitingly cynical kind of voice that might fit well. Other than that, idk, I don't know many celebrities.
  13. Finally finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, been reading that for a while now. Just had a lot of reading for school so I don't get to it much, but my insomnia starting at 4:00 am the other day helped me get through a lot of it. (oh, and I started the Order of the Phoenix, I think I'm going to finish reading through the HP series and then read Atlas Shrugged)
  14. If you have an iPhone, you can jailbreak it and install an .ipa of the game directly. For Android it's easier, you can probably find an .apk somewhere and install that without problems (you need to make sure you've enabled third-party installations in your settings first).
  15. Agreed, especially about LEGO not being willing to sell it. I'm *highly* doubtful that they would. LEGO doesn't strike me as a company that would ever sell their IPs (especially seeing how few they have).
  16. I cannot appropriately express my reaction to this due to the language filter on here. That is all.
  17. You know, I need to read that. I watched the movie version (not knowing it was based on a book at the time) and absolutely loved it. Have you read Blood Meridan? That's another one of his that I've been meaning to read for a while. Edit: Just finished listening to the audiobook version of Crime and Punishment. 14 cassettes, probably about 20+ hours long... I've been listening since March or so (just while taking showers for the most part), so it's been a while. But holy [nvm my bad language] that's such a good book. I loved it. Dostoevsky has a great writing style, and is fantastic at character building.
  18. I'm surprised this thread hasn't deteriorated into a cesspool of idiots cough [i mean cool guys] cough and mod-edits like so many others have. Anyway, I don't really have much of an opinion on it. I'm sure Matoran can have emotions, but I'm not sure if that necessarily translates into romance in the traditional sense. It probably depends upon the definition of "romance" to whoever is thinking about it.
  19. Oh sick, I'm totally in. This is the kind of thing I need to get me motivated to survive my Calculus 4 final.
  20. I don't know if I can say a specific reason why it did so, but I felt the line really started weakening as soon as we hit 2008/Karda Nui (although the way they wrapped it up was fantastic). I guess one part of it could be that I just didn't feel they gave as much of an atmosphere to the locations from that point on.
  21. uh hum let me learn you n00b adjusts Bionicle elitist glasses Stone powers let you control rock above ground, Earth powers let you control rock underground. Big difference. I'm being sarcastic of course, I thoroughly agree. I've understood the difference between the two, but it always just seemed such a minor difference and seemed like a waste making another element just to separate them (for whatever reason). Edit: That being said, I should clarify that I don't think Stone should be abandoned in any possible future Bionicle reboot. It's been there from the start, so getting rid of it would be weird. I just think it's odd they put it in in the first place.
  22. the third law in your sig lol

    1. Sir Keksalot

      Sir Keksalot

*puts on a Kakama* I'M FAST AS ****, BOIIII

  23. Has LEGO ever celebrated or really even mentioned the anniversaries of any of their lines? I can't think of any time they have.
  24. Squid launchers. Lots and lots of squid launchers.
