  1. Allright, that's fine. I use my mom's paypal
  2. Just keep it then, it's not worth the trouble
  3. By a lucky coincidence that I wasn't trying for, I stumbled across the guy's flickr, which was also impossibile to find! If you guys saw pics from BBTB, he was the guy who made the giant blue spider. Turns out he's also the guy who has the avohkii! http://www.flickr.com/photos/100307179@N05/9518641295/ He's not really active there, I think he just uses flickr to upload pics somewhere else... but where I don't know. He also doesn't name his pictures, add them to groups, or do anything community related on flickr! D:
  4. I'll pay for shipping. Just take it apart and stick it in a padded envelope, I don't need it to be kept together :3 PM me for your paypal
  5. Aww, bad luck! Glad you eventually got one though Megajelly
  6. Did you have fun? Yes! Laser tag is always fun, and it's better when it's a big group like that! Would you do it again next year? Heck yes! How could it have been better? I didn't like the timing; yard sale is one of my favorite parts about brickfair, and I had to skip the bulk of it for the party; I managed to get a good balance of both in though, so it was win/win. But I think maybe a poll for times in advance would be good for next time. I also like the idea of requesting game types, because every time I go to shadowland, the more complicated game types don't work.Did the timing (Saturday right after the public left) work for everyone? See above. It wasn't the worst, but I think sunday could have worked, because brickfair ends pretty early on sunday and I'm in no rush to get home; it's just that everyone leaves and there's no reason to stay Would you prefer some other type of activity? If so, what? Nah. I think laser tag is good, but I think we should have some bzp events during thursday/friday; maybe some bionicle dirty buildster. A Hero Factory or Bionicle parts draft would be fantastic, I think that should happen too. Brickfair doesn't cater to Bionicle well, so I think we should cater to ourselves I don't think their accuracy works at Shadowland; Colin registerd a 100% accuracy, which I don't think he got; granted he IS good, and conservative with his shots, but not THAT good I think it's a good idea in theory, but in practice I think it will come down to only a few people if it's skill based, and if you want it to be random, well, that's what raffles are for But I'm not against a raffle either.
  7. Flickr! It's the best you can have for the moccing community, super fast, nice layout, and the comment/note system is as good as it gets. If you're big on moccing, I suggest being active there, it's great for feedback and improving Plus what aanchir said; image resize is a blessing in disguise; I don't have to use it too much, but it's a life-saver when I do need it. It's a great tool for posting on bzp!
  8. I'm silly! I didn't even realize I forgot it! Yeah that's mine. You can just hold on to it until next Brickfair if you're going, I won't really be needing those parts this year
  9. Gold hau shouldn't be rarer than any other I think. In fact, there was a kanohi pack that came with two random gold/silver mata masks and 3 krana... you should've gotten those instead, you'd have a 1/6 chance of getting a gold hau for every one you got...
  10. Haha yeah, well they mostly only have the bionicle parts that were used in HF villains, and a few other more important parts... hopefully in the future, they'll eventually add all the parts, so we can start using mata masks and such!
  11. I know from making a couple of little ships like this that's it's not very easy to make a nice, original shape that flows nicely; but for beginners, chunky is a good place to start! The color scheme is cool, but I think that the neon yellow on the stand is very distracting. I think that normal trans yellow or clear would be better there if you have it; anything to keep the eye on the focus of the picture, the ship!
  12. Yep. The Yo and the Vu too, but as I said, Trydeltix gets dibs on the Vu if he can get me a WMKK. Just wait a day or two, I'll ask him how it's going.
  13. That's awesome, great design, and the fact that you can interchange between socket and ball was a great addition! I'll probably use this at some point; though I will want to tinker with it, because I think that finding a solution that doesn't use thin liftarms would be better! I'll be sure to credit you though Btw, why did you use blender? LDD has all those parts, and has its own animated instruction software built in (at least last time I checked).
  14. I forgot about how the minifig thing is just new molds; I'm skeptical about the arm printing, because it doesn't happen often on minifigs, but I suppose if Hinkle can get custom printed minifigs with printed arms, so can a cuusoo set Also, it's not like two sets can't go through. Portal is still in review even though BTTF get through first. BTW, I doubt that the Rotta mold hasn't been retired yet; that's one mold that they'd have to bring back. But they could just as easily leave Slimer out I suppose.
  15. As stupid as it is, my money is on Poptropica. Lego has already worked with nickelodeon in the past, I don't see why nickelodeon would say no; and if poptropica is still as stupidly popular as it was several years ago, lego would be making money.. I doubt the ghostbusters sets TBH. It would be aimed entirely at teen and adult fans, mostly adult, which isn't a good idea for a kids product. It's complicated, and (of course), has the dreaded custom minifigs, 4-5 of them. It could get shot down just for that alone.
  16. Haha, what a sneaky sneak! Well he told me he has two offers anyway, so at least one of them isn't you... I see that one on ebay... that's pretty sweet But I doubt it'll stay that cheap for long, single rare parts on ebay have a tendancy to go for more than they're worth, while groups of them are the better deal... I saw a single GPKK on ebay go for over $300. :I
  17. It's only the beginning of the day. Hold on. I am still interested in getting your WMKK. Does it have the card with it? I'd like a WMKK with a card, and if the one that Trydeltix is getting doesn't have a card, I'd rather see if I can get a WMKK from you
  18. I guess you have a bit of a point. Perhaps the issue we're having is the way we're thinking about this: as a mechanism for renting sets INSTEAD of buying them rather than renting sets in ADDITION to buying them. A $39 fee to "rent" an extremely expensive set that you only plan on building, showing off, and then returning seems reasonable enough.Overall, though, the service seems to be targeted towards kids, not AFOLS, and towards parents who consider LEGO "too expensive" to buy on a regular basis. That's what's leading me to think it's being marketed as an alternative to buying LEGO for kids. And as that, it's a rather poor substitute. You do make a point about the marketing, which I agree is a bit messed up. For example, I think that they should do something more drastic for parts lost; but honestly, I can't think of anything that's fair and still deters stealing. But if you think about it, there is not many parts you can steal that would be worth the rent price; maybe pleygo can have a list of parts that would cost extra to replace. Minifigures come to mind, because I think that children putting "cool" minifigures in their pockets when their parents aren't looking will become a problem, especially with expensive minifigures like the ninjago snake people. But also, think about the price. $15 a month? That's a mere $180 a year. I know for many years, I've gotten at the very least $180 in legos for my birthday and christmas combined; I've gotten $180 on just one holiday on rare occaisons too. And that's not even coming close to factoring in how much lego I spend my allowance on. For $180 a year, you can entertain multiple kids, too. Both kids can take turns building the set, and they can play with it together. When I was a lot younger, there were some sets that I would get just to play with, even though there was never a time in my life when I bought the sets and didn't make other things out of them. I remember that I loved playing with an Alpha Team base, because it had play features and stuff. For kids that like to just build the set once and play with it, I don't think it's a bad idea. But that's after you look past the questionable business practices; I hope that somebody on BZP or another Lego site tries it out and reviews it soon, because I think we're all interested in the quality of the program. Heck, I think that the company should give free trials to some prominent lego blogs, because that would get them the publicity they need to get past all the speculation.
  19. I forgot that you made the offer of $100 + WMKK here... I may just want to hold onto my bo instead of sell it, but I know you want to complete your collection Do you have the card that comes with the WMKK?
  20. So far Zaz is the only one who hasn't just made some comment about the lost parts policy or about how "I like to build my sets and then keep them". I too like to "keep my sets", but cmon guys. Who else here wouldn't like to get a chance to build the Ultimate Collector's Edition Death Star for a LOT less than it costs to get one? I got the UCS Millenium Falcon (don't ask, I'm not rich, it has to do with my jewish grandfather and me not having a bar mitzvah), and I gotta tell you, it is fun to build that. It takes DAYS. The first time I built it, I took 2 weeks, but I've managed to get my time down to 4 days, and that's building ALL DAY STRAIGHT. That's a lot of building time you get out of one set, one rental. Unless you own that set, chances are you will never get to build that monstrosity in your whole life. But now, for a relatively small fee that's a tiny fraction of the cost of the set (especially now, since it's out of production), you can build it! I think that's pretty cool. At some point in my more adult life, I would like to get to build sets like the death star, and Pleygo will probably be how I'd do it. IMO, more than half of the appeal of UCS sets like that is the fun of building them, and the rest is for display purposes. Nobody buys them for the parts :I
  21. Oh yeah, I always forget about country filters on bricklink. I didn't have a filter on, but there were still like 20, I dunno.
  22. 5 days after the last bid. That means there's no sniping. But it looks like nobody is bidding :/Is that per mask? yeah.
  23. 5 days after the last bid. That means there's no sniping. But it looks like nobody is bidding :/
  24. Lol okay You have a full set of both? Dang Hopefully we'll be able to see the difference in color! Don't wanna shell out $15 for the nuva, eh? It would be worth it for a full collection IMO And the Za should be hard at all if you bricklink.
