  1. I had an idea that instead of masters there would be a role similar to it, but not quite as powerful. Think of the shoulder height (to a Toa) protector with armour and weapons with limited elemental use. I know its not canon, but it could work. What do you guys think?
  2. Huh. I could of sworn I posted in this entry. Maybe it glitched out. Anyway, I think my point was, was that I agreed with you Lychir. It would have undermined the teaching of Bionicle, which is work as a team to counter your weaknesses and defeat the evil. It's a nice simple message that I think anyone can relate to.
  3. It seems to be under the general consensus that we should all wait until at least the end of the first year for a Okoto RPG to come out. Otherwise a lot of stuff is just guest work. And yeah, perhaps now I see my reboot idea seemed a little far fetched, but I still want an Okoto RPG at some point in the near future. Whether it runs a long side the current one(preferable) or not.
  4. I was thinking maybe wait until all the the animations of this first year are over. There shouldnt be a massive rush and we can have a bit more story too
  5. Hey so we have a little discussion here I see, that's great! For those saying that there is nothing to do for Okoto I see your point, but let me just say that the BZRPG only really uses a bit of 01. Everything else is it's own story. Anyway, I was going to try and host one if thats okay. Would really appreciate some help to admin though. Also for story ideas too.
  6. As for G2, I'd love to play an rpg based on it, right now though there really isn't much of a story for it, at least not yet. Actually I was just chatting with a couple of friends about creating one and this came up, as you would expect. Personally for me it's somewhat of a good thing, because it does make it easier for people to integrate themselves into, IMO. Also how much of the real Gen 1 story does the BZRPG follow? Not a lot and for understandable reasons it made its own story.
  7. Thanks for putting my argument a little better than I could seem to muster up. Maybe I was a little forward is saying the current RPG should be cancelled. You have to understand I know little of the inner workings of the BZRPG and I assumed that for one to arrive the other would have to leave. If the two could run side by side that would be awesome. Also some of you peeps have been a little harsh on me. I can't say it bothers me, but if you have a problem with me please dont bring it into the thread. I dont so I would expect you to all do the same. Thanks. There does seem to be a misconception that I want to see the end of the current RPG. I dont. Or st least I wouldnt want to see it go for no good reason. I think its very easy also, for people that have been with it for years to say how accessible it it. Yeah I wasnt there for long, but I left for the reasons I have mentioned above, not for no good reason. I really do appreciate and admire the thought and care ALL of you have put into making that world so vibrant and expansive. If there was a way to balance that out with a easier to enter atmosphere it would be a win win.
  8. I would personally disagree. It is a discussion topic. I will admit the discussion up to this point hass been a little one sided up to this point, but hey. A lot of people seem to be taking this as a personal assault on their deity. Its a bit ridiculous. Scrapping the entirety of the existing BZPRPG based solely on your assumption that you think a G2 version of the game might be popular is not a valid reason for us to change over. I think many replies have been just as selfish.
  9. I agree. Maybe one day it will be time to switch. And, ideally, it will happen according to player demand, which does not exist right now. So it's less "grumpy men and women" and more "there is no demand, so why would we switch our product?" When the demand comes, then of course we'll have to adjust to meet that demand: the whole point of the BZPRPG is to give the players a good time. No one here is arguing that one day it might happen; they're just pointing out that there's nobody who would be happy for the switch at the present moment (except yourself, I suppose), so there's very little reason to change. If we switched now, then the game would be adapting to a generation of fans that does not yet exist (and may not exist for several years), which is a poor market strategy by anyone's standards. Yeah I agree that this thread has made me realize there isn't a big demand. That doesn't mean I think it wouldn't be popular if it got released though.
  10. Hey guys. Trust me, I have read your replies and I see most of your arguments and appreciate those that have put theirs in a well thought out manner. If I was invested into a game and everyone thing got changed I would be pretty skeptical to. This isnt me trying to take away your fun, I've never been about that. My only argument is that a new generation is being introduced to Bionicle in a new way, and thus, hopefully joining this site and adding a bit of new blood to it. I do agree that now might not be the time to do it as we don't know much of the lore and at this point haven't had many solely G2 Bio fans join here. But in time, I can only assume that more will arrive and the lore of G2 will get richer and richer. At that point I think it would be foolish not to switch. Of course the ideal would be to have the two running side by side but have not the time or commitment to really run such a thing. Seriously I admire those of you that do. But one day we will have to move over to give the new kids room, otherwise we are just grumpy men and women who wont let the kids play with our toys.
  11. Look guys, I'm not saying I want it scrapped. It's just that Bionicle as we know it is Okoto. Why hasnt the the BZRPG gone with it? And I know that it follows a different story to G1 but there are a lot of things (powers, races, masks, etc) that are exclusive to Gen 1. I've played it enough to know what the problems are so please don't assume, thanks mate.
  12. Eh...I would describe their relationship as something a brother and sister would have, if not really close friends. Based on his reaction when she left The Jedi Order for good, anyways. True, but if anyone were to fill a child roll to Anakin it would be Ahsoka, not Luke and Leia, right?
  13. So I know that they have said that Vader wont change much when he meets Ahsoka but am I the only one that finds it odd that he reacts more to finding Luke. He never even met Luke or Leia when he was Anakin yet he basically raised Ahsoka to an extent. Wouldnt Ahsoka be more like a daughter to him that Leia?
  14. When you think about it, the BZPRPG has become a convoluted mess that makes it very hard for new comers to join. I myself have tried a handful of times but I have had little success in integrating myself into this already heavily established universe which rivals that of even the old Bionicle G1(which alas, should have been put down years ago). Just imagine being a newcomer to Bionicle in general and seeing all these powers and masks you never knew existed. Hardly a welcoming site when all you want to do is create a Toa of Fire and bash the heads in of a skull villain. Pretty daunting. I just think that this would be a big step in the right direction to not only help accustom to fans to the site but old fans into the new story. What better way to grow fond of a new universe than to be part of it? I know there isn't much of a story so far, but that isn't a bad thing. The whole point of an RPG is that the players can create their own tales. For the record, I am assuming that this will be done at some point but the questions are: Should it be done? And when should it be done? EDIT: Hey guys. I'm really not doing this to go against any one of you or the stories and characters you have created. Please for the love of all that's holy dont assume that.
  15. Well, that's what I was trying to do with this topic: provide an occasion for us to settle this, once and for all. From the responses so far, I think it's safe to say that no further canonization along these lines will be conducted (at least by members of BZP S&T who respect the community's wishes). Of course, the point that constable-frozen brings up in their post above is really something else entirely, and questions the validity of the canonization that set off this argument. Greg often uses technically ambiguous language to confirm or deny canonizations. Perhaps we could set up some sort of Sliding Scale of Definitive Language with which to judge his responses. My point is that I think we should just let G1 go. It had a good run, but it should have ended years back when Makuta died. I really don't see the point in even trying to get Greg to canonize things because what good does it do? Why add to a dead universe. I'm all for letting G1 live on in forms of creative outlet, but as far as anything official goes we should just let it die.

  18. No. And at this point I'm really not bothered. Time has passed and the momentum of my interest has faded.
  19. I stopped watching after season 2, though I did see some episodes concerning Madalore and Death Watch. Those episodes were a lot better then all the episodes I saw prior. I stopped watching it because it at the time did not go with the established canon, but after Disney bought LucasArts and made much of the Expanded Universe non-canon (which at first I hated, but now I actually see the wisdom in it and like that decision), I would really like to watch it. Ironically, I left the show for being non-canon and too childish, but it was after I left that it became the opposite. :lol I honestly don't get how people say it's childish. Even season 1 and 2.. They had some real themes and problems that every adult could relate to. If anything, re-watching them when I'm older only makes me see the more grown-up elements to it more clearly. I remember the talk between Anakin and Asohka at the end of the final Geonosis episode in (I think) season 2 really hit home to me that it wasn't just a kids show. Sure, its a kids show, but it doesn't talk down to the older audience either. I know it did conflict with canon which used to bug me too, but I wouldn't want them to sacrifice a good story for the sake of adding in a detail in from the books. Watching more Rebels, I am starting to really enjoy it. Seems like a very fun show that can appeal to everyone and I can clearly see the tone they are going for. Some parts in it genuinely make me laugh. Its not so much the lines themselves, it's more the delivery. Stella voice cast all around. From what I here it seems to be tying up a few loose ends from TCW so that's really great news. I cant really see why people are complaining about the animation style either. Sure, its different from TCW but its definatley not dumbed down. Its actually very crisp. Only thing Im slightly not too sure about is Kanan's face texture looks kind of shiny and reminds me of the little avatar things on the Nintendo Wii.
  20. I have been re-watching TCW recently and I am just remembering how much of a great show it actually is. I actually think I prefer it to all of the six films. It is a shame it had to be cancelled prematurely but I can see why they had to do it. I will definitely be getting "Dark Disciple" when it is released in June.
  21. Books only about £12 so that's not bad really considering you get a pretty nice figure with it
  22. That's incredible. Looks like it could be used as a prop in a live action movie. Speaking of props, major ones given to the guy who created this.
  23. Well, it showed that Tahu and his particular group of Toa weren't the only names in the Bionicle universe that mattered. Yeah I have to agree. Just makes the universe feel a bit more fleshed out. I am hoping that this year is just for the Toa and once they are introduce we can start looking into some more named characters to join them
