  1. OOC: Wasn't that retconned? IC Helen - Astral: "I read you, Starburst," Helen responded, having arrived back at her station. "Stand by until it is safe to land."
  2. From the quote Fishers posted, I highly doubt the Story Team had any sort of metaphor in mind for the GBs.
  3. IC Wolfe - Quark Cruiser: Upon seeing that the other Heroes were clear, he opened fire with the laser guns on the thrusters of the escaping ship. IC Jet - Tower Basement: Jet cried out in pain as the wall was lifted from his lower half. His legs and right hip were utterly mangled, as well as the majority of his right arm. Still, he tried to sit up with what little strength he had left in his back and his good arm, despite every instinct to lie completely still. He just wanted to get away from the creature that had been snapping at his head moments ago.
  4. IC Wolfe - Quark Cruiser: He watched grumpily as the enemy ship repeatedly spun around, preventing him and the targeting system from locking on for more than two seconds. "I can't get a clear shot," he told Quark and anyone else listening over comms, "Not without hitting the other Heroes." IC Jet - Tower Basement: "Bulk, sir? Surge?" the rookie asked, catching a glimpse of familiar grey and blue armor. He was about to thank them, but upon seeing what Bulk was doing with the wall, he instead braced himself for the inevitable burst of pain he would experience any second.
  5. IC Jet - Tower Basement: Jet heard something moving above him and saw what looked like some kind of horrid creature heading right for him. "Ohmanohmanohmanohmanohman hELP!" he called, but heard some beeping nearby and glanced over (painfully) to see some sort of droid. "Oh, thank goodness," he breathed. "Please! Go get help! O-or something! Quick!"
  6. IC Wolfe - Quark Quruiser: Another sigh. "Coming," he responded as he turned to climb aboard Quark's ship. Once inside, he hopped into the appropriate seat and strapped himself in, then began prepping the weapon systems. IC Jet - Tower Basement: The rookie wouldn't hear Marrow; at least not yet. He was only just coming to, and his senses weren't returning simultaneously. There was a light above him -- the distant opening in the ceiling of the basement -- and little else to see from where he lay. The rookie tried to turn his head, only for the ensuing pain to make him immediately regret doing so. At least he could feel his left arm, but its movements were slow and clumsy, as though it had been asleep. After a few moments Jet realized he couldn't feel his lower half or his right arm. He bit back a cry of pain and lifted his head, and found a massive piece of wall or ceiling crushing all but his top half. He let his head fall back and began to panic. "HELP!" he shouted as loudly as his battered vocalizer would let him. "HELP!"
  7. OOC: Cool beans, Fishers. IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: Wolfe simply stood by and watched as his arrow blew up some rubble. He felt a twinge of relief at having missed his target, if only because he was loath to end a life unless there were truly no other choice. It was all up to the younger Heroes now. Having essentially run two missions on one charge, Wolfe's exhaustion was catching up with him. Not to mention he was running out of ammo. He would have begun to make his way over to the Astral, but it wouldn't be fair to his comrades, suddenly ditching them mid-battle. For now, he watched from afar.
  8. OOC: Wouldn't the arrow fly past Traf's head and blow up most (or part) of the ship? Or was he running parallel with the ship and the arrow just hit rubble?
  9. IC Wolfe - Outside Ship: He loosed a deep sigh. It was clear that no one was going to agree with him, and he hadn't expected them to. Their determination to put this monster away was admirable. Were it any ordinary villain, he would have hopped aboard the ship already and made a beeline for the nearest prison. Trouble was, Traferous was no ordinary villain, and had to be treated as such. "Look, I understa--" he started to say before Traferous took off. Something in Wolfe clicked just then. Perhaps if he hadn't delayed them further with his talk of truces they would already be on their way. Or perhaps the villain would be doing the same regardless. He would probably never know. His bow was drawn and he wasn't even entirely conscious of it. His final explosive arrow was nocked, aimed, and sent flying right for Traferous's head... There was no going back now.
  10. IC Wolfe - Outside Ship: The grip Wolfe had on his bow tightened as the others spoke, but he held Traferous's gaze. He raised his voice for everyone to hear, hating every bit of what he was about to tell them. "We're taking him to Mechron," he declared. "You've all seen what he can do. He's going to escape us either way... So I offer a truce: Traferous will accompany us peacefully, and we will forgo the paddy wagon routine." Wolfe grit his teeth. "I will allow him to fight this little war of his," he continued, "And I will take full responsibility for anything that happens." He gestured for Traferous to get onboard.
  11. IC Wolfe - Ship: Wolfe had to refrain from firing off another rebuke at Kat. Instead, he turned to Traferous and spoke in a low voice. "I'm not going to apologize for her behavior, because you literally asked for it," he said flatly. "Regardless, I have just one question: Why do you want to go to Mechron?"
  12. IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: The old Hero was about to respond to Traferous when Kat inexplicably shot the villain in the leg. "KATHERINE!" he barked instinctively, and continued through clenched teeth, "Onboard, now."
  13. IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: Wolfe merely stared at Traferous as the villain spoke, then tipped his head in Kat's direction. "You heard the little lady," he said before calmly drawing his bow and pointing it at Traferous as a precaution. "Let's get onboard so we can get you squared away. The more you cooperate, the faster we can catch up to the others and rescue those people on Mechron." IC Jet - Tower Basement: Somewhere beneath the rubble on the surface, the rookie's core still functioned, along with his built-in Hero Tracker...
  14. IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: Normally he would have told his comrades to knock it off, but Wolfe was not in the mood this time. He started to say something, but was interrupted by Quark pelting another Hero with a rock. This caused Wolfe to initiate the slowest of facepalms, which he maintained while Traferous spoke. "Oh ho!" he responded as he glanced up, "So after all of that, you have the audacity to threaten us? You're stupider than I thought..." Turning away with a scoff, he hailed the Mission Control Deck. "Do you guys have anything for us? Any dirt on him, or a location to drop him...?"
  15. IC Helen - Astral: IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: "Sure thing," Wolfe replied to Quark, all the while never taking his eyes off of Traferous.
  16. IC Helen - Astral: Helen simply stared at the tape in disgust. When it was over, she pressed a few buttons on Nex's console and rewound the footage out of curiosity. Spotting a scene where Traferous looked especially excited and self-satisfied, she let it play for the others. "All right, everyone!" he said enthusiastically. "The Hero Factory failsafe shield is down! This is the moment we have been waiting for, the destruction of Hero Factory! If anyone wants to try their hand at a weapon or take a dropship to catch any fleeing Heroes, feel free! Otherwise, enjoy the spectacle!" She took a deep breath to keep from punching the console. "So, who wants to break the news to this poor innocent civilian?"
  17. IC Helen - Astral: She frowned. "Care to elaborate, Nex?" IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: Wolfe's grip tightened on the hilt of his dagger, knowing full well that Traferous was merely humoring them, but he remained silent as Thumper made the arrest.
  18. IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: After the lightshow subsided, Wolfe jumped down from his perch and made his way over to the little group who stood before Traferous. The vet wasn't happy, and it probably showed, but his voice remained pleasant. "Well! Never thought I'd get to see what happens when you try to blow up a cockroach." He stood beside Saracen, facing Traferous. "So what now, friend?" IC Helen - Astral: She turned to Zib and Mr. Makuro, looking mildly distressed. "Is there nothing we can do?"
  19. IC Dr. Xaal Drone - Makuhero City Outskirts: The little machine watched as the Heroes took off, leaving it alone in the alley with nothing more than a skimpy file of information for its master. It remained where it was until the medic's ship was out of view, then backed into the shadows and headed home. OOC: Pass for all of my other PCs, two of whom are down for the count, and two who are just observing the scene.
  20. IC Flint - Engine Room: Flint should have seen that coming, and now he was regretting it. Everything happened too fast for him to do little more than clutch the doctor in such a way as to -- hopefully -- shield him from the brunt of their impact with the wall and the floor. He wouldn't get the chance to find out, however -- he was knocked out cold.
  21. OOC: I'm perfectly cool with this, but, wouldn't Traferous's jets set the hall ablaze? It's still covered in oil, right?
  22. OOC: I'd be happy to write up a blog post for this kind of thing, if y'all want. That way we can comment and discuss over there without cluttering up the main RP thread. :v IC Flint - [insert Second Expletive]: "GAH!" he exclaimed as his arm was hit, and reflexively dropped his sword before scooping up Dr. Lie, turning the opposite direction, and making a mad dash for the lake. The sword would have to be recovered later, unless one of his fellow Heroes were to pick it up in the meantime. His mind raced, trying to think about his next move. If his suspicions were true, the doctor had little reason to help Traferous, and that could be used to Hero Factory's advantage. "Play dead," he growled at the doctor, "I'll try to get you out of this mess, but it's going to be a bumpy ride..." IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: The older Hero was starting to feel quite worn out, but like many of his fellow veterans, he was going to be stubborn and stay in the fight until he dropped from exhaustion. This time, however, he would be rejoining the battle from a distance, and took up position atop a large piece of debris with what few arrows he had left. IC NPC Bulk - Astral: Bulk made his way inside and looked for the Med Bay. OOC: Relinquishing control of Bulk, unless someone needs me to do anything further with him.
  23. OOC: I know I'm slow, but good golly... IC Wolfe - Leaving the Astral: The vet shrugged. "I wasn't the one who fought him," he told Ferro, "I just brought him in. We better hurry and help bring in the rest of 'em." IC Helen - Mission Control Deck, Astral: She glanced at Stormer's readings, intrigued, but not convinced. "How are we supposed to get anyone through such a small opening?" IC NPC Bulk - Tower Ruins: "S'alright, I'm fine," he half chuckled, half grunted to Thumper as he straightened a piece of armor. He winced. "Okay, maybe not. I better head back to the Astral..." Rolling his shoulders stiffly and turning to head back, he said with a grin, "Go get 'em, La Puno de Hierro." IC Flint - [insert Expletive]: Flint had stood his ground even as all heck broke loose outside. Now Saracen was no longer in front of him and their ward was probably having a heart attack. He was going to attempt a bluff he would most likely regret, but he had to show these villains that he meant business. As soon as the doctor backed into him, Flint's left arm came around to brace the organic, and as soon as Traferous spoke, the Hero's khopesh was at the doctor's throat. "I apologize for this," he quickly muttered in Lie's ear, then addressed the shapeshifter. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," he warned as the black blade was pressed against Dr. Lie's skin. "This organic is important to you, eh? Back off and nothing happens to him..." OOC: I'll be gone for the rest of the day, but I'll try to respond ASAP.
  24. IC Flint - Fallen Ship: Flint's grip tightened on the hilt of his khopesh, but it looked like he wouldn't be needing it. The villainess had come and gone, and that was fine by him. Starting a fight within this hallway would have been a terrible idea anyway, what with everything being coated in oil. "Better hope she doesn't come back," he told Dr. Lie, "One stray spark and this whole place will go up in flames faster than you can blink. And I don't feel like bringing a charred husk back to our ship..." Giving a quick nod at the exit, Flint said to Saracen, "I'll bring up the rear if you want to take the lead." IC NPC Bulk - Boss Fight: He grimaced as spikes began to sprout from Traferous's back, but he held on. Then came the lasers. Bulk was starting to regret this move, and his grip slackened as the spikes drove into and between his armor. When the heat and subsequent pain from the lasers became too much, he cried out and let go of the villain. IC Helen - Astral: "Not from the staff directly," she answered Zib, sounding vaguely annoyed, then crossed her arms in thought. "It's possible his powers are inherent now, but I don't see how that helps us," she finally sighed. "Unless he has a device similar to the staff hidden somewhere..." She was just throwing ideas around for the heck of it at this point. IC Wolfe - Astral, Villain Lockup: The older Hero cleared his throat at Ferro and Fravi with a knowing expression, unconvinced that the villainess was completely disarmed. If it turned out she was, then Wolfe's verbal nudge could simply be interpreted as him trying to hurry them along.
  25. OOC: Oh, leave poor Fishers alone. ;P IC Flint - Fallen Ship: "Easy, you two," Flint growled, "Let's get out of here; we almost have things wrapped up outside." He would have told Saracen that things weren't really any different, but he didn't want the doctor getting any ideas. In a few minutes they would see for themselves how the battle was going, but perhaps giving the doctor the impression that his friends had lost would make this part of the trip a bit easier. There'd be no point in stalling, after all. Glancing over his shoulder as he turned to leave, Flint said to Dr. Lie, "We'll get you some drinkable water, but finding a medic who knows how to fix you up properly might take a while. We'll do what we can, though." IC NPC Bulk - Boss Fight: Bulk hung back for a minute as Heroes and villains alike exchanged blows. Then, seeing Bliss take another swing at Traferous, he ran up behind the shapeshifter and attempted to grab him in a Nelson hold. "Give it up, man!" IC Helen - Astral: Sitting back down at her temporary station, Helen caught the last half of Zib's conversation with the Alpha 1 Heroes and gave a halfhearted glare. "I tried," she sighed, "Unless you want me to go back out there and shove that gun where th--" she paused in thought as she considered everything Zib had said. "You said he pulls weapons out of nowhere... I saw him do as much when our 'negotiations' went downhill. Where is he getting all of this mass from? The Black Orb staff creates black holes, right? Could Traferous... be using that power?"
