  1. IC Wolfe - Astral: "The only thing escaping will be me in about two minutes," Wolfe replied jokingly as he hauled Night Stalker further into the ship. He heard Ferro ask about cells as well, so he followed the other Hero and his lady-villain ward towards the decidedly smaller lockup. Night Stalker was dragged into one of the cells, followed by Wolfe cautiously backing out and activating the cell door. "The medics will look in on you as soon as they can," he told the villain with a casual, two-finger salute, then turned to keep an eye on Ferro and the other detainee in case the former needed help. IC Flint - Fallen Ship: Following the sound of voices, Flint eventually found an office of sorts and stepped just inside the doorway. The mesh-covered bookcase was odd, and upon closer inspection was found to be bolted to the wall. Strange... Flint thought, but left it alone, as there was no time for poking around enemy offices. After approaching the second doorway, he stopped, as there was a small, organic being blocking his path. He glanced at Saracen, as if asking is this the guy?, then turned his attention back to the doctor. "How well can you get around?" he asked in a toneless voice. IC NPC Bulk - Tower Ruins: Muttering a curse, the Alpha 1 member ran in the direction Traferous had taken off.
  2. IC Flint - Fallen Ship: Seeing that another Hero was taking care of 78, Flint continued on in the direction he'd seen Saracen run. He entered the ship with caution, careful to look out for any traps or faulty equipment that could blow up in his face. His sword wouldn't be of any use in that kind of situation, but he held it at the ready regardless, in case some other villain saw fit to ambush him. "Rune, where are you?" he called as he neared the hallway with the three doors. IC Wolfe - Astral: "You'll live," the vet chuckled as he hauled Night Stalker aboard. "Which way to the cells?" he called to no one in particular. IC NPC Bulk - After Traferous: Nearing the little group that was bombarding the villains' ringleader, Bulk checked his rocket launcher and grinned at Thumper. "Watch this," he said, before addressing the Heroes attacking Traferous. "GUYS, INCOMING!" And with that, he fired... OOC: Yes, Bulk has a rocket launcher in his Breakout form.
  3. IC NPC Bulk - Tower Ruins: He straightened his back and rolled his shoulders, as though nothing had happened. "Never better -- thanks," he replied to Thumper cheerfully, then lightly punched one hand into the other. "Now, let's go show this villain what happens when he messes with Hero Factory." With that, he started off in the direction Traferous had gone. IC Wolfe - Near the Astral: Wolfe hadn't expected the grenade, so there was no time to react before he was blown to the side of the ship like a leaf. He was a bit dazed, and his left leg began to hurt. As he tried to clear his head, he glanced around for Night Stalker. "Hey, you okay?" he called. I'm getting too old for this... IC Flint - Heading for the Downed Ship: Flint grumbled as he watched 78 pull further ahead. He kept on running, firing more shots, as it was all he could do at this point, at least until he could catch up.
  4. OOC: They can be tracked from the 'Mission Control Deck' on the Astral now. IC Flint - Heading for the Downed Ship: The large Hero was nowhere near fast enough to beat 78, but he kept running as fast as his legs could carry him. As he did, he whipped out his pistol and began firing at 78's feet, intending to slow her down. IC Helen - Middle of the Fray: Thoroughly annoyed, the mission manager headed back to the Astral.
  5. OOC: Unit - I was referring to Buckley as the second Hero. XD IC Helen - Facing Traferous: "Last I checked, defending one's friends wasn't exclusive to villains," she said icily as she backed away from him. IC NPC Bulk - Tower Ruins: He stumbled backward and caught himself on a piece of rubble. "Flint, go help Rune!" he wheezed over the comms. IC Flint - Middle of the Fray: "On it," he answered, then ran in the direction Saracen had flown. IC Wolfe - With Night Stalker: The vet glanced down at his new ward, vaguely amused. "Alright, you, time to get out of this mess," he said before attempting to drag the massive villain towards the Astral.
  6. IC NPC Bulk - Tower Ruins: He wordlessly grabbed 78's arm again and slapped one of the cuffs on her wrist. "Don't think so, miss." IC Helen - Facing Traferous: It could not be clearer that negotiations were over. As soon as that blast was fired, Helen turned and did something she never thought she'd get to do. Those self-defense classes were finally going to come in handy. She whirled, swinging her leg out and straight at Traferous's face.
  7. OOC: We really need to establish how other aspects of this universe work. We don't even know how these planets are run/governed, which only fuels the "HF is evil" argument... IC Dr. Xaal's Drone - City Outskirts, Old Timer: The drone watched from a safe distance as the medic worked, not making a sound. It was gathering data on these two Heroes as it hovered there, as well as observing the medical procedures this Splint guy was using. Perhaps its master could find a use for this information. IC NPC Bulk - Tower Ruins: "Hold on there," Bulk said as he grabbed 78's arm to escort her away. "I think it's time we brought you back to our ship for questioning, like we agreed." The Alpha 1 member hailed Saracen and the other Heroes. "Rune, how 'bout helping me out by grabbing the Doc in the fallen ship? He may be injured, but bring backup anyway." IC Flint - Middle of the Fray: "Yep," he responded to Weaver without taking his eyes off of Von Nebula. "You okay?"
  8. OOC: I don't understand why Shade is so adamant about transferring a (non-existent) core to a body that could very well have its original core restored (if they find Focus). Plus, I'm sure there are plenty of blank Hero frames lying around in the rubble... IC Helen - Standing Between Two Powerhouses: Helen scoffed. "'Unlike Hero Factory,' huh? News flash, hon: we don't dictate. We're an independent police unit, if you want to get technical -- one the Republic* has the power to shut down any time they wish. Have any of you ever considered that the vast majority of people are perfectly happy with how we operate?" She would have continued her rant were it not for the sudden appearance of Von Nebula himself. Helen whirled around at the sound of his voice, but looked more annoyed than startled. "You've got some nerve showing up here," she interjected before turning her attention back to Traferous. "An alliance? After all of that." She crossed her arms again. "I'll humor you. But only because neither side is in any position to do much else." IC Wolfe and Flint - Facing Von Nebula: Both Heroes had their weapons out in a flash, but in a defensive manner. Wolfe still stood behind Gorn, as well as Von Nebula. Flint now had his back to Traferous and Helen, standing between them and the former Hero. Neither of them liked where this was going. OOC: * For lack of a better name. I'm sure there's some galaxy-wide government/alliance, but I don't know what else to call it.
  9. IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: The old Hero glared at Var, now directing the conversation to her as well as Gorn. "We were made to uphold the law," he told them, "Nothing more. The people trust us to do just that, expect us to do just that. We show villains the same respect we show civilians, and hold out hope that the villains we spare may one day turn their lives around. Look at Jawblade! We may end up recapturing him somewhere down the road, but he helped us today. The people need that. They need to know that, no matter what happens, everyone, villain and civilian alike, is given a chance. Ending this man's life takes away that chance. It tells the people we don't care. And if we don't care what happens to a villain who is, at his core, just like them... then why should we care about anyone?" "I don't expect you to understand this," Wolfe told Var. "Having friends who rely on you and care about you are probably things that you don't have..." IC Helen - Facing Traferous: Von Nebula... she thought as a hint of shock came across her face. "You haven't given us much of a reason to believe you," she answered. "But assuming your 'origin story' is true, what then? Are you trying to find the Hero who caused this? Because I'm afraid we haven't seen him in a very long time."
  10. IC Wolfe - Tower Ruins: Walking up behind Gorn, Wolfe put his hand firmly on the enraged Hero's shoulder, hoping to keep him from getting any closer to Night Stalker. "Enough," the veteran growled. "He's right; the moment you step over the line, you become just like him. The civilians, your fellow Heroes, will never look at you the same way again. Is winning really so important that you would risk being feared by the very people you fight so hard to protect?"
  11. IC NPC Bulk - With Thumper and 78: "GORN, STOP!" he shouted over the comms. IC Helen - Facing Traferous: Helen allowed herself a smirk. "I'm sure you're quite the charmer," she quipped before becoming serious again. "But none of that answers my question: Why? Why would a formally respectable socialite like yourself gather a bunch of thugs and go around doing Maker-knows-what to innocent civilians? You have yet to prove to me that someone else isn't holding your leash."
  12. IC Helen - Facing Traferous: "Enlighten me," she responded, trying to maintain an even tone. "Because right now it's starting to look like you're just some playboy lackey doing someone else's bidding."
  13. IC Helen - Tower Ruins: Helen cocked an eyebrow in surprise as Traferous transformed, and didn't so much as flinch when he approached. Inwardly, however, she was very nervous, knowing that despite this man's innocent appearance, he could very well end her without much effort at all. "Impressive," she commented with a nod. "Now, Mr. Diaphanous, I understand you have been causing my people quite some trouble in various parts of the galaxy, and have now seen fit to destroy their home... Our home... Have we, perhaps, had the pleasure of meeting before and wronged you in some fashion? Or do you simply enjoy testing out your toys on innocent robots?" IC NPC Bulk - With Thumper and 78: Bulk grimaced. "I'll do what I can, but if that guy keeps going after them, I can't promise anything." He opened a comm channel to Saracen and Gorn. "Hey, Rune, tell that guy that you'll back off if he lets Gorn go. If he keeps hasslin' ya, well..."
  14. IC Helen - Pause Boss fight: If she was bothered at effectively being shushed, she didn't show it, aside from crossing her arms as she waited.
  15. IC NPC Bulk - With Thumper and 78: The Alpha Team member chuckled and put the cuffs away. "Naw, I'm certainly not the boss. And I appreciate your being cooperative. Let's head over to the Astral an--" He looked over to where a good number of people seemed to be gathering as though preparing for battle, including some monstrous, four-armed being. "That can't be good..." IC Helen - Enter Boss Fight: "Roger, Nex. I'll stall him." Armed with nothing more than a datapad and an icy disposition, Helen slipped past a couple of Heroes to the fore (with Flint close behind like some kind of armored bouncer), stopped a comfortable distance from Traferous, and cleared her vocalizer. "Excuse me! Mr. Diaphanous?" she called, casual as ever. "It seems to me that we have quite thoroughly gotten off on the wrong foot. Might we have a word?" IC Dr. Xaal's Drone - Old Timer: The drone turned at the sound of someone approaching and backed away somewhat, making a rather displeased-sounding series of clicks.
  16. Forgot to ask this in my initial post, but what's the status of Wasteland's flora? More or less the same as Bara Magna? Are there species of plant unique to this RPG? How difficult would it be for my possible Bo-Matoran to grow herbs for food and medicinal purposes?
  17. IC Flint - Astral: The mattresses in question were being stashed behind some rubble just outside the ship. Flint didn't care if the punks found them again, so long as they were delayed in doing so. IC Helen - Astral: "Leave that to me," she snorted as she got up and headed for the door. When she got there, she walked past Flint and said, "You, with me," and marched on, to which the Hero loosed a grumble of annoyance before following her.
  18. IC Helen - Astral: The majority of Saracen and Thumper's encounter with this Traferous was the latter yelling his vocalizer off. Helen was unimpressed. "Sir, I know this will sound insane, but what if I go talk to him myself?" she suggested to Zib. "Someone who's not an armed Hero. Maybe I can convince him and his posse to get lost."
  19. IC Wolfe - Negotiating with Var: He let out a weary chuckle. "Seems I have none," he replied, absently tapping his bow against his leg in thought. "Very well, then... I acquiesce to your offer." Giving an exaggerated bow, Wolfe then stepped back and leaned against the chunk of wall he had previously slammed into. He would love nothing more than to subdue this villain, but he knew there was no way he would come out of the fight in any condition to help his comrades. Letting her go was the logical option, no matter how much it stung. IC NPC Bulk - Downed Villain Ships: Bulk glanced with dubiety from 78 to Thumper and back. "Well, that's for the higher-ups to decide, but I don't doubt Thumper here did an excellent job... Anyway, I'm gonna need you to come with us, miss. If you don't fuss, we won't need these." He held up the cuffs as a warning. IC Helen - Astral: Helen thought about what Saracen and Andrea had said. The Heroes were most definitely backed into a corner where this villain was concerned. However much they all wanted this being to pay for what he'd done to their friends and their home, she still felt that outright ending this villain for good should only be attempted once they had exhausted all other options... and there was one painfully simple one that they hadn't yet tried. "Zib, has anyone even tried talking to this guy?" If she had to, she'd march right on out there herself and give the villain a piece of her mind.
  20. IC Helen - Astral: "You've done your best, Rune," she told him, which was the closest thing to a compliment anyone had gotten out of her in ages. "For now, try assisting the others until we see what this guy's next move is."
  21. IC Wolfe - Fighting Var: "How kind of you," the veteran quipped before he adopted a more serious tone. "But I have a better idea: leave this planetoid now -- without laying a hand on another being -- and I won't call the calvary." IC Helen - Astral: "Rune, the power signature of the last villain cell just went dark," she warned over the comms. IC NPC Bulk - Downed Ships: Jogging round the side of the ship, Bulk stopped abruptly to avoid slamming into 78. "Whoa now!" He turned to Thumper as he pulled out a pair of Hero cuffs. "Is this one of 'em? Where's the other?"
  22. IC Wolfe - Fighting Var: Wolfe watched Var warily. The smartest thing for him to do would be to keep his distance. As a long-range fighter, it would be expected of him. Attacking the villain at close-range was considered, but he wasn't exactly chomping at the bit to get up close and personal with that plasma sword. However... He stood up in mock stiffness and picked up a fallen arrow. The damaged red fletching told him it was an explosive type; one that could no longer be fired. He tucked his bow under his arm and started to unscrew the arrowhead as he backed away from Var. "You sure are cocky for being the last villain standing," he bluffed nonchalantly. "Even if you take me out, there are other Heroes nearby who can take care of you." He palmed the explosive arrowhead and tossed the useless shaft away, then let his hand hover over the hilt of his combat dagger to conceal his holding the makeshift grenade. IC NPC Bulk and Helen - Astral: Bulk glanced up. "No...?" "Good," Helen replied without looking up from her datapad. "I'm sending you to go assist Eloise Thumper. She's onboard one of the fallen ships, supervising two of the villains, one of whom is injured. We need you guys to bring them in before they can regroup with the other villains." "On it," Bulk answered before heading out. Helen hailed Thumper. "He's on his way," she said casually.
  23. IC Wolfe - Fighting Var: He had expected her reflexes to be good, but not this good. One moment Wolfe was standing upright and drawing another arrow, the next he was flung back and slammed into a chunk of wall. He slid down, his systems rattled, and groped for his bow. "Is that the best you've got?" he coughed as he readied a new arrow from a kneeling position. IC Helen - Astral: Her suspicions about Thumper's crush confirmed, Helen strode back to her station with a smirk and spotted Bulk on the other side of the room. "Bulk, are you busy?" she called. If it turned out that he was, she would simply send someone else... Not that Thumper needed to know.
  24. IC Wolfe - Fighting Var: "Eh, you don't look all that tough," Wolfe smirked. In truth, he was fully prepared for this fight to go terribly, but he had to do whatever he could to keep this villain distracted at the very least. He circled right, slowly, and drew a standard arrow... Then fired it straight at Var's left shoulder, with another quickly following, this time for the right shoulder. IC Helen - Astral: She rubbed her forehead with two fingers as she listened to Thumper. "Alright, until we can have them brought in, take everything they say with a grain of salt," she warned, sounding oddly patient in spite of her irritated expression. "They're trying to guilt-trip you so that you'll sympathize and let them go." Rounding a corner, she muted the mic and opened the lab door. "Right this way," she told Selphi."Let me know if you need anything else." Turning her attention back to Thumper, she said, "I'll send Bulk over ASAP."
