Caught by surprise, Pulse's water blast hit Underscore full in the face. Blubbering around, Underscore managed to teleport away to a spot of dry land where he lay gasping for breath and hacking the water out of his lungs.

"Uh," said Underscore, eyeing Pulse's spear, "Got me. Maybe we can figure something out. Where are you injured?"

Underscore, who had just remembered he could teleport, was about to start making the mental preparations to materialize right next to Pulse, grab the mask, and teleport away again, when Pulse conveniently started to swim away from the scene. Whether this gesture was intentional or not Underscore did not know, but he took advantage of the opening and retrieved his mask. Jamming it onto his face, Underscore sighed as he felt the physical strength and mental awareness return. Underscore was about to return to the fight above, when he looked back. Pulse was hiding between a piston and looked to be nursing his various injuries. Dropping his stick and raising his hands in the air, Underscore cautiously approached Pulse. "Hey, want some help?"

After several frustrating minutes, Underscore finally located his mask in the tangle mess of pistons and steam that was the bottom of the furnace. Underscore lifted the mask to his face and- SMASH Or actually, it was more of a PLOP. Such as it is when one gets hit by a giant drop of water. Surprised by the blast, Underscore's lost his grip on the Kanohi Calix, and the mask slipped out of his fingertips once again. He made a grab for it, but the shock had dimmed his senses and he accomplished nothing but a small disturbance in the water. Blundering about, Underscore managed to find a railing and pulled himself up to higher ground. Shaking the water out of his eyes, Underscore became aware of the cause of the event. Of all the luck would Pulse fall on top of me, he thought. The Calix was floating several feet away from Pulse, though he didn't seem to realize it yet. Underscore crossed his stick in front of him and began inching toward the mask, hoping to retrieve it before Pulse noticed.

Underscore was about to follow up his head-kick with a nice jab to the groin when something caught his eye. A brown figure with sideburns and a lightsaber flew through the air and landed next to Imrukii and TimeLord, and started telling them off. So entranced was Underscore in this bizarre event that he didn't even notice the tidal wave heading straight at him. The force of the wave carried Underscore away from the fight and sent him crashing down onto a catwalk below and knocking off his Kanohi Calix. Stripped of his control over fate, Underscore teleported back to the fight and aimed a rickety kick at Pulse and a weak stab at Nato before diving off the edge to retrieve his mask from the depths of the furnace below.

Underscore rounded on Nato just to see an ice blast headed straight toward his head. At the last second he managed to swerve out of the way, but the blast still caught him on the side of the head, knocking him to the ground. Swearing, Underscore picked himself up and dusted the ice shards off his mask. Seeing Nato had retreated and was now dueling Pulse, Underscore vaulted himself towards the two. Underscore landed right behind Nato and aimed a kick at his head while Nato was busying himself over freezing Pulse.

It only took moments after materializing for the kakophony to begin, from the shouts of the competitors to the feet clanking against the metal catwalks to the hissing and steaming of the furnace. Amidst all the chaos, Underscore spots TimeLord and Nato fighting some 20 yards away from him. Taking a running start, Underscore leaps towards the two, executing a perfect flip at the climax of the jump and falling into a dive, only to bring down his stick inbetween TimeLord and Nato in a devastating blow.

2.5/5 Kind of a weird association, but for some reason this reminds me of the stereotypical Middle Eastern/South Asian music you hear at restaurants. It's interesting, but not something I'd go out of my way to listen to.
