  1. Hi there BZPower members!

So in November of last year I posted my first versions of the BIONICLE movies upscaled, and many of you enjoyed them.

Well, I have the latest, final (February 2017) versions out now, in both the 16:9 Aspect Ratio and a Widescreen format.

I hope you enjoy the remasters of all three films! If you'd like, please discuss below your thoughts about the latest versions.

Thanks again for reading this post!

  2. A remastered would be good if graphical details such as replacing the orange color on vakama's body with red for example and removing the yellow on lhikan's greatswords and stripes on mataus mask

Why do i speak about this, because i dislike some of the additions of colors Miramax did with blue on jaller and takua's bellies. Teridax also looked weird in rusted red and green. Dark silver or gunmetal with black mask would have been better.

Generally remasters of films don't change colors on characters or textures from the original. Usually the video gets some color correction, sharpening, and other things but not that. While you can certainly have your own opinions on how the characters should've looked in the films, if they kept all the same colors on "body parts" or "pieces" from the sets, there would be no detail, like just making one of the Toa's legs all red instead of adding textures, silver pistons, and so forth.

  3.

I suggest not squishing it vertically.  Keep the source aspect ratio.

Well, my personal opinion is that while it does look better than my DVD copy when scaled up to fullscreen, it still doesn't really look that better. Your work here is undoubtedly good, but the source material is not promising. the DVDs had quite poor quality (digitally speaking, especially with today's standards) and were riddled with heavy interlacing (except LoMN, which was only ghosted at some parts).

Upscaling than adding 'sharp filter' won't make this any better, only a true HD version released by miramax would look really better (I believe that they actually exist somewhere on their storage).

Sadly I find it hard to believe that we would every lay out hand on it tough, as the movies weren't popular enough for a licenced re-release (even not through a streaming service).

Anyway - I do appreciate your work, it never hurts to see such projects ;)

But seriously, leave the aspect ratio be.

Sorry about the aspect ratio change, guys. The original aspect ratios for all three movies each slightly differ, and there are some minor graphical errors on the right side because it's from a DVD rip.

I will most likely eventually post some clips on my channel with the original aspect ratio.

Sadly I find it hard to believe that we would every lay out hand on it tough, as the movies weren't popular enough for a licenced re-release (even not through a streaming service).

They were all on Netflix for a while, but it seems like the contract ran up and they didn't renew it. I never checked to see if those releases were HD - anyone else remember?

I watched Web of Shadows on Netflix this year in March, and I remember it said it was in SD and NOT HD sadly.

This is great, I love how good it looks. I just have one question that I've never gotten a proper answer for. Is Vakama's helper a Bohrok? Looking at it more closely in greater detail, the question dawned on me once again.

No, his helper was a Fire Drone Though I agree that it does look like a Bohrok.

As for the footage, it does look really good. I would love to see how Webs of Shadows looks remastered like this.

Thank you! The Remastered version of Web of Shadows will be posted in segments on my channel next week starting Monday thru Friday. Mask of Light will follow shorty after. I'm releasing them on the channel in Chronological order. :)

By the way, would anyone like me to post a high-quality video of the Deleted Scenes from MoL on my channel? I will if there's enough interest.

  4. No Kopaka Phantoka?

Seriously though, it's an awesome piece of work. Very true to the story, great animation, and quite the thought provoking exchange between Kopaka and his shadow.

Thanks for the encouragement, Wiriamu! The sequence between Kopaka and his shadow was originally going to be longer, and would have involved Kopaka walking into the cave and seeing his reflection in an ice wall, and then cycling through the different armored variants of himself until it reached the current version, like in the final cut. However, due to how long that would take to learn how to do the effects and the complexity of the reflections being in an ice wall for me, I decided to make it simpler.

I'm really sorry that you are dissappointed about Kopaka Phantoka not appearing in the video. I do not own the set, and during the shooting of that scene I was running low on funds so I wasn't able to buy him. However, when he sees his Nuva armor variant in the scene, I like to think that it is both his Nuva and Adaptive Armor variant, with the Adaptive Armor variant not being seen in its Sky Form in the animation.  :P

  5. Hello everyone,

My local high school is hosting an arts commission festival titled "Films in Five" where you had to create a video that runs 5 minutes or less.

My entry for the event is a short adventure skit involving my favorite Toa of Ice, Kopaka. It took about 4 months to create (On and off), and

it just got accepted into the festival and will be shown there on October 1st! I'm so excited for other people to see it, especially on the big screen!

I wanted to share it with everyone on BZPower too. I hope you enjoy the film, and tell me what you think of it below! :)

  6. Hello fellow Bionicle fans,

Just wanted to let everyone know that Quake Beast seems to be out of stock on shop.lego.com as of this posting. This set is also not currently available at Toys R Us.com either. I would recommend going to your local Lego and Toys R Us stores if you still want to get this set before it's super hard to find, or call Lego customer service to see if you can order it.

    Thanks for your time!

    Kopaka out.

  7. I just got back from the Lego store in Water Tower Place, Chicago, IL. They had all the beast sets, but no Ekimu The Mask Maker or Umarak the Destroyer sets, I'm guessing because of them being back ordered on shop.lego.com for a while (although not currently), and reading Aanchir's comment about how Lego brand retail stores will not be selling the summer 2016 lineup in their stores, it was curious that I would find them there. I guess it could've been just luck. I picked up a Storm Beast set.

  8. Hey everyone,

So recently I've been wanting to purchase one of the Trans clear masks of fire from comic con 2014, but the prices on places like eBay are insane.

Would anyone be willing to sell one to me for $20-$30 + additional shipping (if so, I will only buy from people based in the US to save on shipping charges.)

    Thanks guys, Kopaka out.

  9. Hi all,

Like many other fans, I'd love to be able to listen to the original, unaltered tracks of musical score composed by Nathan Furst for the BIONICLE movie trilogy from 2003-2005. Nathan Furst was going to upload more tracks to his YouTube channel from his computer, but unfortunately something happened and he lost all the tracks.

I was browsing a couple of months ago and came across this video compiled together by Creative Capers entertainment on this page: http://creativecapers.com/our-work/legos-bionicle-trilogy/ and in the video are various music tracks from the film trilogy compiled together for the video. I suspect that whoever made this video has access to the original music tracks for the movies. I wish it were possible for LEGO to give an alright for the tracks to be released somewhere, maybe put them on Nathan Furst's YouTube channel, just for the fan's sake. Thoughts?

  10.

I know that Walmart's been starting to clearance some of the older sets - any news about any Bionicle sales elsewhere?

Amazon has Gali and Onua on a discount.

    Thanks! Shipping though...

Shipping Gali and Onua is bound to be a pain. Try shipping Onua with Lewa instead. :P

    :o ?

Edit: Please try to add a little more substance to your post next time!

  11.

    I don't like it.

G1 had water=female. There was nothing wrong with it. No reason to change things up simply for the sake of changing them.

Yeah, but I don't think they are changing it just to change it. It seems that in recent years LEGO has being making strides towards reaching out to girls, which is great. It was also annoying that every blue hero was female.

What's wrong with blue heroes being only gals?

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just kind of a boring trend.

I like it as a trend. It seems fitting for graceful, flowing, beautiful water to be a female element.

I can tell you from many harsh experiences that there are plenty of women that fall short of that standard.

    Haha! Yeah. :)
