  1. Vestak, are your characters corresponding to the Hero/Villain/Civilian format? Apparently Morphos has a couple things off about his profile. Make sure you stick to the template! :D

No one brought up anything except about the amount of weapons, which I fixed.  And when looking back at it, nothing seemed out of place.  I had a few extra categories, but that was only so I could be more detailed.

Also, since no one has gone back and given a third approval, here are my profiles again.

    Name: Night Stalker

    Affiliation: Villain

Appearance: Black armor with hints of red, 1.5 times the height of a hero.  His helmet resembles the Fire Lord's, but without the flames.

Weapons: Force Hammer - A large war hammer that amplifies the force of its impact.

Tri-Blaster - This blaster is built around Night Stalker's left arm, yet he still has a left hand.  The Tri-Blaster can fire standard forms of ammunition, but Night Stalker most often loads it with capsules filled with a highly corrosive gas.  His armor has been modified to be almost completely resistant to the gas, but long enough exposure will damage even him.

Abilities: Night Stalker has radar built into his helmet, and while it warns him of approaching objects it also functions as normal radar, able to give him basic shapes and surroundings at close distances.  It's reliability drops after fifty feet. His armor also has a chameleon function.  He can change color at will, or set it to automatic, although auto is considerably less effective. He is very strong, which makes his hammer even more dangerous.  However, due to his size and weight, he is bad at dodging and has poor movement speed, instead counting on his armor and strength to get him out of most situations.

Personality: Night Stalker used to be a villain who was focused on becoming the leader of a powerful villain organization one day, known and feared by the whole galaxy.  However, during the Mechna incident he had a revelation, and now he would rather change his name and become a pilot.

    Name: Morphos

    Alias: Mr. Neo Anderson

    Affiliation: Villian

    Occupation: Mercenary/Bounty Hunter

Appearance: Whatever he wants, though he usually appears as an inconspicuous, average, civilian.  Usually the same height as a Hero.

Powers: Morphos is a very unique robot.  He has almost no solid armor, just a bit of basic plating.  Instead his armor is composed of a magnetic liquid metal held in place by a magnetic field.  This metal has the unique property of turning solid on impact.  This by no means makes him invulnerable, as while it is solid the metal takes damage just like any other metal.  However, once it turns liquid again Morphos can easily smooth over the dents and cracks.  Morphos can control the magnetic field to give himself different appearances or to group more armor in one place.  The only place not covered by this liquid metal are his hands and feet.

He can form spikes or weapons out of his liquid metal, but the magnetic field, while very strong and manipulable, is not strong enough to hold it’s shape enough to pierce much more than civilian plating.

His limbs also telescope, no more than five inches though.  This helps him to change his appearance even further.

Weapons: Morphos carries many weapons underneath or suspended in his liquid metal skin.  He carries an energy sword, two pistols, one for solid bullets and one for energy blasts, along with plenty of ammo for both.  He carries multiple explosives of varying power in his skin.

Personality: Morphos is a cold, calculating robot.  He was designed and programmed to kill, and to do it well.  He can act normal if he needs to, but since he doesn’t enjoy doing that he usually only does when he needs to, or when he’s under cover.  He’s much better at being what he was programmed to be.

    Name: Ruby

Powers and Abilities: Ruby’s motors have the ability to operate at a much faster speed than normal.  This allows her to perform at twice the normal speed, meaning the speed of her servos (physically) and processing speed (mentally).  However, this drains power more quickly, so she uses this ability sparingly.  Ruby’s boots also contain magnets, allowing her to run along any strongly magnetic surface.  However, she tends to stay away from ceilings.  Any fast movement on them results in very little contact between the metal surface and the magnets in her boots, which wouldn’t be enough to support her.

Weapon: Ruby carries a sniper scythe, the most perfect weapon in the universe (according to her).  As it’s name implies, it is a combination of an energy scythe and a high power, anti personnel sniper rifle.  The blade of the sniper scythe is made of crimson energy, and it shoots powerful energy blasts of the same color.  The weapon itself is made of black metal with hints of red to match the blade.

Appearance: Ruby is an average hero, wearing mostly red armor with hints of black.  Her core and eyes are silver.

Bio: Ruby is a fairly new hero, a bit naive and shy.  She is not very outgoing and has trouble making friends.  Instead of being out making friends, Ruby has spent that time practicing with her sniper scythe, which accounts for the level of skill she has despite not being active long.  In a fight however, she changes from a young, shy hero to a dangerous combatant, highly skilled and capable.

Went back over the earlier profile; it all looks fine to me. Shade Approved x2, The Scalpel x1.

While I'm also a little iffy about his excessive arsenal, I'm going to give a tentative Approval x2 to Morphos. It's worth mentioning, however, that in order to dissociate ourselves somewhat from the alterations our former GM made, we're planning to use a version of Mechna that's more in line with the Mechna that exists in canon. Story-wise, I think the excuse we were going to use is that the evil Mechna came from the mirror world, and has since been swapped back with the real Mechna.

No issues with your hero, so Ruby Approved x2.

Now, I do have some concerns about Night Stalker. His profile says he possesses a radar that allows him to detect incoming objects, yet I distinctly recall a situation in the previous iteration of the game where it was being used more like some kind of omnipotent sonar, to track the movements and actions of unseen opponents with very high accuracy. Likewise, his acid is described as being only mildly corrosive, yet it was being used to kill armoured NPCs near-instantly, and collapse entire buildings. So while I am going to give an Approval x2 to Night Stalker, it comes with a polite warning to stick to the limitations you've given him.

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

For Morphos, I changed it to only two pistols instead of four, one of each.

For Night Stalker, I clarified his radar ability.  When I wrote that part of his profile I meant that in addition to functioning as a normal radar (tracking objects and basic area mapping reliable only within 50 ft) it would also warn him of approaching objects, in the event that he was not paying attention.  Sorry for the confusion.

As for my going over the limits of his profile, that is partly the fault of me originally using him on the Lego Message Boards HF RPG, which involved characters who were essentially gods.  Meaning that version of Night Stalker could wipe out this entire RPG single handedly.  Thanks for the warning and I will do my best to stick to his profile.

Did I miss the third approval or did you guys miss this?

  4. I'd like to point out that I only said I would be co-GM if no one else was available, as I did not want this game to die.

And now, profiles. I changed Morphos's slightly to make him a little more powerful and no longer silver all the time. Should we wait until the GMs are decided to approve it or just do it now as a group?

Personality: Night Stalker is ambitious and intelligent. He will do whatever he can to get to the top, but will not directly attack anyone in his way unless he knows he can get away with it completely, without even the slightest trace that he was involved.

    Status: Currently in prison

    Name: Morphos

    Alias: Mr. Neo Anderson

    Affiliation: Villains

Morphos can control the magnetic field to give himself different appearances or to group more armor in one place. Obviously, the higher the complexity the more time it will take.

He has the ability to change color between metallic green, silver, and gunmetal. Changing into one solid color takes only a second, but any highlights or details drastically increase the time.

Weapons: Morphos carries many weapons underneath or suspended in his liquid metal skin. He carries an energy sword, two pistols, one for solid bullets and one for energy blasts, along with plenty of ammo for both. He carries multiple explosives of varying power in his skin. His final weapon is a small rocket launcher, built into his chest. There is only enough room for one rocket, and in order to fire it he must create an opening in his skin.

Personality: Morphos is a cold, calculating robot. He was designed and programmed to kill, and to do it well. He can act normal if he needs to, but since he doesn’t enjoy doing that he usually only does when he needs to, or when he’s under cover. He’s much better at being what he was programmed to be.

Status: On Mechna with a brand new pocket watch from his ordeals in the recent past.

Status: Ruby is currently rooming with _______ in Makuhero city while the Factory is rebuilt.

  5. Last I remember Marrow was on the Astral along with the rest of the captured villains.  If Night Stalker saw marrow, he could have informed the heroes that it eats quaza.  It really matters whether or not the Heroes had quaza to spare for feeding a monster.

  6. So far most people are in favor of a semi rebuilt Factory in terms of timeskip.  Other than that I think you and timageness got everything Zippy.

  7. Not starting over.  It will be the same game with the same RPCs and all, but a new topic so we can update things as they happen, instead of forever having fishers post remain there unchanging for eternity.  We can easily copy and paste our old profiles into the new topic.

As for Zippy's coolest name contest, I vote something that won't scare people away. :P  I like HF RPG 2.5, since the new topic will be a continuation of this game and not a new game.

  8. @ Old Master

At first I thought it rather implausible that there wouldn't be major villain activity, but you left enough time for the heroes to have shown that they're still active and can handle themselves even without a factory.  So yeah, good start.  There are still a bunch of loose ends though.  The mission still needs closure, despite Zip's line with the watermelon and giant eagles being brilliant.

Also, something just occurred to me.  With Fishers gone, we won't be able to update the first post for new missions and character profiles anymore.  Is there a way we can work around that without creating a new topic?

  9. For the timeskip we could do a few things that would work out well.

    1. We could timeskip to the end of the current mission.  This is the shortest one and thus not so much would have to be thought out ahead of time.

    2. We could timeskip to a semi-rebuilt hero factory.  I feel a half built factory would be an interesting dynamic, but at the same time it would be under near constant attack from many villains and would keep a large portion of the heroes at the factory for an extended period of time.

3.we could timeskip to a full rebuilt hero factory.  That way we can create new hero characters with very little difficulty, have the factory up and running again, and be able to defend it with relative ease as opposed to semi-built.

  10. Smaller missions would be fun and honestly more canon as well.  Most of what hero factory does is send out single teams to various parts of the galaxy to stop crime the local law enforcement can;t handle.  That would mean that they would not be dealing with just average crooks but villains powerful enough to be a serious threat.  It would keep these smaller mission from getting boring, and every so often a big mission comes along and everyone participates.  To me it sounds fun.

  11. I know I'm new here and inexperienced in running RPGs, but I have lots of time on my hands, at least for the summer, and if there was no one more qualified willing to step up I'd volunteer to be co-GM.

  12.

    IC: Morphos

"You and I both know that heroes don't do that, and what would I care about the amusement park.  I need to get in."

GM IC LARE (TALKING TO MORPHOS)

"If you have a valid reason, take it to the government. I'm sure they will inform me to let you in."

OOC: Is there a comm line that people can use to contact the government here?  I feel like this is the kinda government that doesn't take calls, or at least make their phone number public.

  13. GM IC LARE (TALKING TO MORPHOS)

"Because there are a bunch of Heroes in there killing people," snapped Lare. "And a broken amusement park ride that is unsafe. No one is going in or out of here without the government's explicit authorization until this is over."

The government said to keep people out...

    IC: Morphos

"You and I both know that heroes don't do that, and what would I care about the amusement park.  I need to get in."

  14. GM IC LARE (LOOKING AT MORPHOS)

OOC: I think there was a post a while ago about the wall, actually. There are guards, and I think the wall is electrified?

OOC: Thanks.  I'm assuming Fishers controls them?

    IC: Morphos

    Morphos reaches the gate.

    "You shall not pass."

    GM IC GREF

Gref opened the gate for the Deconstructor and his drones, letting them through, but kept his weapon trained on Morphos and any other villains that wished to follow them inside.

    IC: Morphos

"Why not?  I'm a civilian and I need to get inside.  I mean, look at me, I'm not a villain.  Even if I was you could take me down in seconds."

  15. OOC: I think there was a post a while ago about the wall, actually. There are guards, and I think the wall is electrified?

OOC: Thanks.  I'm assuming Fishers controls them?

    IC: Morphos

    Morphos reaches the gate.

  16. IC: Morphos

Morphos approached the nearest entrance to the Tourist District, morphing into his most convincing civilian form.

OOC: Anything I should know about the gate?  Guards and the like?

  17. IC: Ruby

Ruby, after leaving Splint's ship, wandered around, looking for any heroes still around.  She sees a small group with what looks like Mr, Makuro and heads over.

  18.

No one from the universe the Heroes left could now follow them into Mechna...and no one in this wretched universe they had entered, would be able to follow them out.

OOC: "And thus, only Rocka, Fortis, Striker and Vex were left. The galaxy was doomed."

OOC: *Sigh* Does no one remember Ruby?  Where are Rocka and co.?  I need to get Ruby moving.

  19. IC: Morphos - Let's see if I can do something with him this time

So Hero Factory had come to Mechna.  Big surprise after what just happened.  Morphos would have stayed and started to rebuild, but then again, he was not a hero.  They had work to do, whether or not they're home was destroyed.  He wondered if they were tracking down that hero who too off with Uerub.  Actually, they were probably here about the portal.  Morphos could have done without the hole the the plane of existence, but maybe he could make some quick cash off it by letting the Heroes know one of their own rogues was here.  He take them to the general area and point them in the direction they headed.  With that plan in mind, Morphos set out from the Grunge, heading for the tourist district.

  20. IC: Ruby - several days behind the rest of the RP.

Ruby stood up, stretching her newly repaired legs to test them out.  "That feels much better.  Thank you so much Splint."

  21. IC: Ken Render - Villain Lockup

As they reached the cells, Render thought. He knew very little about this villain, and not only did he seem entirely unapologetic about his role in the attack- excusable, if he had no role in it to begin with- but he also seemed to be hiding something. Not obviously, but Render had his suspicions.

"I'm sure you'll go fine without me, pardner," Render drawled, opening a cell.

    IC: Night Stalker

Night Stalker obediently enters the cell.  "Thanks anyway."

  22. IC: Ken Render - Astral Hallways

"Much obliged, pardner." He couldn't hear any fighting up ahead, that was good. They must have handled the ghost situation already.

    IC: Night Stalker

"Don't mention it.  Unless you want to put a good word in for me in court."
