  1. My first entry- It is a beast from legends that hunts and destroys entire civilizations. No one knows why it does but they do know even the toa would have trouble stopping it if it came. He caries a mysterious spear that can shoot powerful energy and an energy launcher. Higher resolution Image- http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ENDfilms/MOCs/villain_1.png
  2. The rules say you can "Your entry must be least 75% Constraction/Technic and a maximum of 25% System elements". Hero Factory and Bionicle are constraction.
  3. The Three Virtues, in my opinion, was in no place to offer criticism in the first place since they didn't have the actual sets, but just reproductions based on pictures. This especially afflicted their early review of Lewa, since they BUILT THE SET WRONG and then criticized it about flaws the actual set didn't have. Yes, they added a correction to the description after their error was pointed out, but that's like a band-aid over a gushing wound. They really need to learn to apply more professionalism to their reporting considering the size of their audience and the transient nature of YouTube viewers (who aren't necessarily going to revisit a review or video they've already watched for updates). BZP's review didn't offer much criticism, but it presented the set exceptionally well, to the point where people can easily draw their own conclusions. Black Six shouldn't have to try and nitpick fine details just to try to add a semblance of "balance" to the narrative. He clearly liked the set and the review (which, like all reviews, is based on his subjective assessments) reflects that. Not just pictures. They saw the sets in person and had help from the LEGO staff at comic con with some of them. I know that. I was there. The point was, those still weren't the sets. They were not built from the instructions and that allowed for errors, regardless of what help they had (not all of the Lego staff there were the designers of the sets themselves, after all, and even the designers could make mistakes). As previews of the sets, they were great! They gave a good look at what the sets MIGHT be like. But they weren't REviews, and as such they should have tempered both their enthusiasm and their criticism accordingly. They do say that they aren't exact at the very beginning but they are very close. (closest we had till this review).
  4. I will do my best to be there. Maybe I will start to build a contest entry while I watch.

  6. From the first moment I saw these I was amazed at the resemblance you got at such a small scale. Keep up the good work.
  7. This has good and creative armor coverage, has some cool spines, and looks pretty tough. He does look a bit plain but overall this is a cool moc.
  8. Wow...time flies. I should probably slow down on building and get to work getting pictures of them.
  9. I feel lucky that I tend to like the armored sci-fi figures the most and they tend to be more plentiful. This was a nice review with a good look at the parts and overall figures.
  10. Those boxes aren't canisters but they are the coolest looking cardboard LEGO boxes I have seen. I look forward to all of these reviews.
  11. Same here Now that I have gone from building with system to system and constraction even more so.
  12. This review has further solidified my desire to own this set. I will probably replace his gold pieces with gun metal colored ones. I am not a huge fan of the torso print but it works for the set.
  13. But regular lacks parts that exist. But it is a good option for those not wanting to do research.
  14. I have practically no parts to build MoCs. LDD is the only option for me that I even have a chance. I think real parts have an advantage because it's so much easier to build when everything is right in front of you, and it's possible to pose some pieces where the LDD program says it's impossible because of a millimeter of overlap that real parts can overcome. Plus LDD is actually missing some parts that exist in real life. So if I had access to real parts, I would use those instead. Btw, if you think LDD has an advantage, you can use that too if you want. No one's stopping anyone from using LDD. It's all up to preference. Hear, hear! Exactly. I have practically no parts to build MoCs. LDD is the only option for me that I even have a chance. No one's stopping anyone from using LDD. It's all up to preference. Actually, now they are stopping you from using LDD. Well, pretty much. Apparently you aren't allowed to use certain colours for your MOC. And if this is the case then they may as well ban LDD models from the competition full stop. Really angry about this, as, being a student living away from home, I don't have access to my LEGO collection. These grossly unfair rules put people like me (and just LDD users in general) at a huge disadvantage against those who are able to use an extensive collection of physical Bionicle pieces. Instead, we have to make do with an extremely restricted selection of elements. LDD users have next to nothing to work with, and it's only fair that we should be able to use LDD to its full extent. > Hope someone addresses this and fixes it so that all entrants have an equal chance. We all want a fair competition. Use bricklink to determine what colors have existed. That's what I do.
  15. It freezes sometimes. Especially if the computer sleeps.
  16. Yep, those are Bionicle pieces. While you are correct, please do not answer questions if you are not contest staff. But it doesn't require contest staff knowlage to answer it though. It was obvious in the rules and he was just pointing it out.
  17. The gold mask type has been revealed on rebrick- http://rebrick.lego.com/en-US/BottomMenu/Blog/10202014-battle-for-gold-mask.aspx
  18. LDD submissions should not have the 'grid line' background. They should be clear images of the model on a clean background (although, as mentioned elsewhere, you are free to edit the background and your image). Tufi and I are not LDD experts, so if you are looking for help on how to do that I suggest you ask your fellow members or search around online. Ok, thanks for the help! Time to get LDDing. Looking at someone else's response to my post is right ldd to pov-ray may not work (unless ldd to pov-ray has been updated). If it does not work a screenshot would be a good final resort. Make sure you have "high quality rendering of bricks in scene" checked in your ldd preferences so it doesn't look as bad.

If you are like me and are inexperienced with 3d software I would recommend LDD to pov-ray converter (Even LEGO Ideas recommends it). It turns your LDD file into a pov-ray file. Then you open the pov-ray file in pov-ray, tell it the image size you want, and it will export it as a picture.
  20. When it says "no contemporary weapons" what are the limits? An example is the toa marhi blasters aren't too unrealistic but they aren't like a riffle or tank.
  21. Had to turn down my volume at the beginning due to the celebrating. I found this coverage very enjoyable. One little typo (kind of)- they were not the first to see outside LEGO (due to leaked pictures that came out over the past months) but officially they were the first outside the company and both officially and unofficially in person, which must have been awesome.
  22. OK. I will keep that in mind. I did read that post but didn't see anything against it, I guess I didn't look hard enough. Thanks for your nice post about my film.
