  1. You are making claims with no reason or proof to back them up. Also, I would like to point out, the new wave of BIONICLE uses a lot of technic parts, making the build a lot more interesting and complex. Also, they are actually lot more complex than Gen1 Toa sets. Just go buy one and compare it to a Toa Inika, and you'll see what I mean. Also, I do remember the old Bionicles back when I wasn't even ten years old. Let me tell you, it really didn't help me at all when I tried to make my own design that characters looked odd and out of place because of all the overspecialized and stylized pieces. Frankly, I would have loved having CCBS when I tried so hard to make a Link (Legend of Zelda) MOC, but couldn't for the life of me because none of the pieces were right. So, tntkirill24, I feel like you are letting blind nostalgia cloud your judgement.
  2. Ah, I understand. Thank you. By the way, I agree with both the Chir brothers here. I love the CCBS, and think that it carries the Bionicle look very well.
  3. It happens when you press the post button twice on a slow connection. I'm more curious than certain. Lewa's gunmetal blades might look better on Gali's feet, etc. Yeah, I tried it out as well, and I find both sets are better with contrasting weapon colors. Actually, I almost wish that Lewa's swords were Titanium Metallic just like his axe blades. But I can see how another brand-new recolor might have been pushing it. Maybe one day we might get those swords in Titanium Metallic in another set and I'll be able to see what they look like in that color for real... I was think that, too. The fact that the swords don't match their axe blades is kind of annoying, but it doesn't stop me from absolutely loving Lewa's design.
  4. Not sure if this is your real opinion or you're trying to stir up trouble. So you want me to explain what is bad about everything in gen 2? I think so. Please, make your point. Story: Who likes it? DO YOU REMEMBER THE OLD ONE?! If you wanted bionicle back, then why liking the one that is just the same but the best parts of the story gone? Do you know the old one? it was thousands times better! Parts: The old sets had fantastic parts and now you get very simple parts. THE SETS WERE GOOD BECAUSE OF TECHNIC PARTS!!! And more, there was thousands more possibilities for MOCs! Not to mention how good they looked like! Story: Many of G2's fans remember the old story. In fact, a great number of us remember the very start of the story, back before it became so edgy and convoluted. G2 Bionicle's story is very true to that, and while it hasn't gotten as much chance to develop as the classic theme, what we've seen so far suggests that the writers are taking specific steps to avoid the factors that led to the classic theme's cancellation. Parts: The classic Bionicle parts did not follow any sort of system, with new parts frequently being introduced despite not offering significant advantages over the old ones. After Bionicle's end, Hero Factory introduced the CCBS (Character and Creature Building System), which helped to fix those issues by creating a core set of basic elements in a wide range of modular sizes. The new sets have more diverse and complex builds than any past Toa, thanks in part to groundbreaking levels of integration between the CCBS and traditional Technic elements. EDIT: Ninja'd. Not to lead away from the conversation, but what does "Ninja'd" mean?
  5. It happens when you press the post button twice on a slow connection. I'm more curious than certain. Lewa's gunmetal blades might look better on Gali's feet, etc. I've tried. Lyichir was right when he said that the contrast is good. Trust me.
  6. Hey, you're right! Only a couple more months to go till we can have our skelingtons!
  7. I think they are good for hero factory but for bionicle, THEY SHALL NOT BE USED!!! Do you remember the old ones? They were PERFECT FOR BIONICLE!!! Now, we got parts that shall not even be used in bionicle! So instead of reviving bionicle, THEY DESTROYED IT COMPLETELY!!! You mean the brittle, overspecialized pieces that were relatively hard to MOC with? How exactly were those perfect, and how did the CCBS ruin Bionicle?
  8. Yeah, I noticed that too... On a slightly unrelated note, has anyone written a transcript of this episode? After Tahu says "Shh, quiet!" it sounds like he says a bunch of gibberish before saying "that weird voice in my head again." Does anyone know what he's saying?
  9. Well, the same could be said for the Toa. Why do they need Ekimu? I'm thinking maybe Ekimu has some to clue as to where Makuta might be, or where the Mask of Creation (or Ultimate Power) is. In any case, the Golden Masks, as Onua pointed out, are leading them to him.
  10. Maybe they were pre-rendered pictures from development? Dunno. Also, just a question: why do we care about this game so much? It was cancelled over a decade ago, so why do we even have our hopes up of playing this game that's proven to be broken?
  11. Cheesy brings up a good point. They're expensive, and with the 2015 waves already totaling in at $270, do we really want that much more expense? I'm not sure... I'm planning on getting a job soon, maybe in the summer. Point is, I know that some little kid that might want all the sets but doesn't have a whole lot of money may be disappointed if LEGO adds another expense in. Of course, I don't know much about money and sales and all that. I think Lyichir may be more suited to that.
  12. Look at the tweets on the BZP homepage. the BS01 tweet links to it. I would, but whenever I use BZP on Internet Explorer (which I have to when I use my Surface), I can't use the paste function... or start polls... and tons of other stuff. It's a real issue that I know about, but point is, there's the episode. Personally, I think that the episodes make a nice 10 minute short. Not super long, not amazing, but I think they do the trick. That trick being, of course, to bring people in and get interested in the Bionicle line. My little cousin is six, and he just ate up the episodes he's seen... Man, I can't wait till August when I can visit him (he lives in North Carolina, I live in New England)! I'll have some of the summer sets by then, so we can play with those and read the book that's coming out... Bruh... It's gonna be real fun.
  13. Well, yes, but I like the certainty of buying them on LEGO's own website. I just don't really go to my nearest LEGO store because it's over an hour away. Ordering them seems to work just fine for me, and I'm pretty sure LEGO uses either USPS or UPS (maybe Fedex), and they ship pretty much everywhere in the continental USA.
  14. That's exactly what I was trying to say. Thank you.
  15. ...August. Well, they'll probably start popping up early at certain locations in July, since that pretty much happens every year. But you won't necessarily be able to find them reliably until August, and May or June are probably too much to hope for. Popping up early as in like Bionicle 2015 appearing in December? Or as in G1 popping up in the middle of Summer? More like the former. Very few street dates for Lego are absolute, and there will almost always be a few retailers who release the sets early. But predicting exactly WHICH retailers will do so is pretty difficult. Based on my experiences I expect that Toys R Us, if they don't release the sets early, should have them out promptly on August 1. They tend to be fairly reliable that way. Other than that, anything goes. Often it's just a matter of how much stock the retailers have left from the winter wave—a store that has sold through a large amount of a certain theme is more likely to put the new stuff out early, whereas a store that is overstocked with that theme might not put out the new sets until there's room on the shelves. And that can vary even within the same retail chain depending on location. Welp, guess I'm not getting anything over the Summer. You know that LEGO has an online shop, right? You buy them right there, right on time, and they ship to you ASAP. Plus, if you sign up for the VIP program, you get one point for every dollar you spend; then, you can redeem every 100 points for a $5 gift card. I'm planning on buying all of my summer sets online, so I get about 90 points.
  16. Yes, I wouldn't mind some vehicles coming into G2, think it'd be quite interesting seeing some more CCBS-bionicle style vehicles. 1st; @Forgetta: your single post responses are bordering on SPAM. Hope a staff doesn't notice. What spam? ;3 The posts that say nothing but "This." If you really like what a post is saying, upvote it. Don't spam the discussion. Back on topic, I don't want "Matoran" per se. I do want villagers. However, after looking at Lyichir's post, I don't think that would happen. I would love to get some unblended masks, though, because I don't like my villager self-moc to have a Protector mask. I'd rather just plain white.
  17. Dude. He's six. He'd be overwhelmed and confused by all that kind of stuff. A mindless game like Mask of Creation is perfect for him.
  18. The point I was making is that LEGO used to be almost bankrupt, and they were trying all kinds of new things to try to stay afloat. Now that they've raised themselves up to the top, they've become more experienced with their tactics, and know better than to do something that will cost them money in the long run. Also, mind you, they have made a free game, Mask of Creation. While it isn't the same type of game as MNOG, it provides a cool little action game for the target audience to enjoy. I know that my 6 y/o cousin who I introduced to Bionicle (bought him his first sets, PoI and PoE), loves the game. When we talk on Skype, he'll often tell me about how cool the game is.
  19. Well, we've answered the question, right? Just... got a little off-topic.
  20. It just started, there is really nothing to compare at the moment. It's like comparing the first part of an essay outline to a finished novel. Comparing to 2001 which was G1 start, there is a lot to compare actually, like the advertisement, characters, promotions, games, videos, etc. I think this is what people miss the most. Very true, however, most people keep on comparing it to the original continuity as a whole. If more people made comparisons along the lines of the example you provided, then that would be alright. Why must that be? What's stopping Lego from having something like that made again? I think that this year it's become more clear than ever how vital MNOLG was to making people not just like but love Bionicle by immersing them in its world in a way that a bunch of 90 second clips can't. Without that game, 2001 wouldn't have been more than this year has been so far - some good sets with a bit of artwork and a few paragraphs of slightly interesting story. Because it wasn't sold. Lego is going to put that much effort into something now for free, they want to directly sell it to individuals now. Wanna squeeze every penny from the fans now, eh? Well, you can't forget that LEGO is a business. They exist to make money. Are they socially responsible? Yes. Do they create quality products and communicate with their fanbase? Yes. However, they still are out to make money, and they know better than to invest a lot of money into a project that will yield no profit like a free, online game. Also keep in mind that LEGO was close to bankruptcy back in the late 90s, so they know what that was like, and want to keep their business afloat.
  21. I'd say that if LEGO does actually implement any of these, it won't be because of a topic on BZP. Was anyone suggesting otherwise? This topic, like the many other topics about future sets, is just meant as speculation. It's not designed as a petition for Lego to release a product, just as a place for fans to brainstorm ideas and critique their overall feasibility or likelihood. This. It was the part "I'm not sure if any of these will become a thing" that I took as saying "I'm not sure LEGO will do any of these", as if LEGO actually reviewed topics such as this. So really, I just assumed that's what Chirox was saying. Sorry 'bout that. No I'm completely aware that lego don't read this stuff, I believe that mask packs are a possibility in the sense that with the success of CMF and mixels I think lego might attempt this with bionicle (as they do commonly reuse ideas). Well, seeing as mask packs and related memorabilia disappeared around 2005, I think LEGO has realized that it's not a sound investment.
  22. I'm gonna go through this bit-by-bit, because there is so much to talk about with this comment. First, the CCBS. LEGO is using it for every large-scale figure they make. Hero Factory, Superheroes (for a short time), Star Wars, Chima, and now Bionicle. It's what they do now. They had a unified brick system, now they have a system for action figures. They weren't going to design a whole new system for Bionicle's return; rather, adapt the system they had already made to be completely versatile and usable for any action figures. Second, fists? You're upset that the characters have hands? Why? They're a large step-up from the 2009 4-fingered hands, and a total improvement from the characters not even having hands from 2001-2008. They hand little stub things. I know that as a younger kid, I always wanted to them to have actual hands, so 2009 was amazing. Now they have durable, 5-fingered hands, and I feel it breathes life into the characters just a little more than the old pieces. Third, Lewa's mask. Did you even watch the designer video of him? They go into detail of how they got from the 2001 mask to the 2015 mask. It's not like they pulled the design out of their butts. They put lots of careful thought into it. Fourth, same mask being used by every Protector. Remember, back in 2001, the Turaga had a badge of office? It didn't totally matter then, because the Turaga led the Matoran for 1000 years with no one to replace them. However, now, the Protectors and villagers seem to have much shorter lifespans. They mate, and have children. The Protectors, being the role of leader (and being passed down from father-to-son), it makes sense that the Protectors have a badge of office, something that signifies their leadership. That would be their masks. The masks are special compared to the villagers', and quite possibly have some elemental energy left from the time that Ekimu and Makuta made them. Besides, have you noticed the vivid colors used in the masks? They may be the same mold, but they're unique in their own right. Fifth, the Protectors not having names. This is somewhat annoying to me, as well, but you need to think of the reason why this is. They don't need names. They're the leaders, and their titles serve as plenty name for them. There's only six villagers on Okoto at a time that have the title, so they don't need names. Names are required to identify one from another. The title is their name. Also, you can make like NujuMetru and start calling the PoE "Barney" or something like that. Sixth, the miniscule amount of story. I've said it many times, and I'll say it again. We're only four months in! We're getting books and graphic novels, so the story will be expanded there. I think the main problem here is that you need patience. Seventh, giving each Toa a quirk. That makes them more relate-able, and less like supreme warriors with no fears or flaws. A crucial part of any character's personality is their flaws. Don't take that away from them, and away from the primary audience that looks at these characters as heroes. Flaws are what make a character good, and sometimes they're a very interesting plot-point. Eighth... Have you even watched the animations? If you did, you'd know that in Episode 3, the Toa are all called just that: Toa! Direct quote here: "The sun burnt Pohatu, Toa of Stone, as he fought his way across desert dunes." Next time, actually research what you're talking about before you complain about it. Ninth, the Lord of Skull Spiders. Maybe he's not such an amazing villain, but guess what? He's a villain that came out alongside the Toa to fight! Back in 2004-2005, the Toa were released six months earlier than their villains, and even then they were mostly clone builds. The major villains that the Toa have to fight in 2015, Skull Grinder, Skull Basher, Skull Slicer, Skull Scorpio, and Skull Warrior, are coming. It's not like the LoSS is all they have to fight at all. Tenth, from saviors of the Universe to exterminators? Back in the first half of 2001, the Toa were still finding their masks and freeing Rahi from Makuta's control, saving the island. You know what they're doing the the first half of 2015? Still finding their masks and defeating Skull Spiders, saving the island. Get over yourself; Gen2 has barely begun yet. Eleventh, the cartoons. You ignorant little git! You know the animators took heavy inspiration from MNOG, right? They didn't want to do CGI. They wanted to harken back to the original, and YOU of all people complain? Honestly.
  23. I'd say that if LEGO does actually implement any of these, it won't be because of a topic on BZP. Was anyone suggesting otherwise? 24. Right, but it just so happens that the cardboard is environmentally friendly and more cost-efficient than the plastic. Frankly, I don't care about anyone's nostalgia when it comes to helping our planet. Like, get over it! It's there because it's better for us.
  25. Based solely on price per piece: the Protector of Stone. However, value is relative. The Protector of Stone's part count is inflated by common and tiny tooth elements, and if you're interested in other colors or types of parts, another Protector may well hold more value for you personally. In my opinion, the Protector of Ice is one of the best in terms of his overall bulkiness and excellent weapons, while the Protectors of Earth and Fire have extremely interesting builds and the Protector of Jungle has a veritable bounty of interesting recolors (including ones that do NOT appear in his respective Toa, a rarity for the Protectors in general). So it's really a matter of taste. Hmm... Thanks. Does the PoS beef up Pohatu interestingly? Well, he gives Pohatu some armor and his staff, so Pohatu ends up looking pretty awesome IMO.
