Sorry to be that guy, but the primary colors of light are red, blue, and green - add lights of those colors together and you get a white light. Red, blue, and yellow (or, more specifically magenta, cyan, and yellow) are subtractive primary colors, used for inks and dyes - paint with those three colors and you'll get black. To unruin this theory a bit, I could imagine this symbolizing the light trapped inside Takua - radiant inside, but all he or anyone else sees is the black... Or maybe he was just always different.

Watch Journey to One on Netflix
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to Hapori Tohu's topic in BZPower.com News Discussion
Bit late to the party... vast improvement over the Year 1 storytelling, if only because it actually has time to tell a story. One episode being longer than the entire Year 1 animations is a good start! I seem to be in the minority here, but... I miss Batpohatu. -

Wow. Just those few pages make you wonder how much interesting character drama we missed out on in G1 due to the "no romance or reproduction" rule... -
Set Review: 71172 LEGO Dimensions

Well, I mean, the way the game works, it's linear, so even if you go to another level you can't advance until you beat the oh wait that's a regeneration joke isn't it -

I had mine freeze up a couple of times on the Wizard of Oz (read: first) level on Wii U, but I haven't had any problems since. It seems like it does have some technical issues, but nothing that can't be overcome by just being a little careful while playing - if you're in a spot that tends to freeze, avoid rapidly adding/removing characters or vehicles. -

Heat Vision Temporary Blindness?
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to bonesiii's topic in Bionicle Storyline & Theories
Not to be petty but isn't this more of "laser vision" a completely seperate rahkshi power? (although why we didn't just get a single rahkshi of beam-vision i have no idea, oh well.) pretty sure heat-vision fires beams of, well, heat, however that works? microwaves? :0 I'm imagining something like the heat vision from Man of Steel that basically has beams of fire shooting out of Supe's eyes. Not terribly realistic, but definitely cool-looking, and it seems Bionicle usually follows the Rule of Cool for this sort of thing. -
Heat Vision Temporary Blindness?
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to bonesiii's topic in Bionicle Storyline & Theories
Or maybe it's as simple as heat vision emitting light of some sort (as sci-fi heat/"laser" vision usually does so the audience can see it), and you're basically staring at a light source taking up your entire field of view for a few seconds. That'd weaken anybody's vision. Alternatively, the heat vision power actively makes your eyes less responsive to light in the short term to prevent this from causing permanent damage. -

Solis Magna System Found by Hubble Telescope
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to Hapori Tohu's topic in BZPower.com News Discussion
If we're gonna try to name the two stars in the middle of the system rather than (or maybe in addition to!) the nebula itself, how about some more iconic, albeit more abstract names: Mata Nui and Makuta. Those names were around since 2001, mortal enemies, yet united brothers. I'm not too good with symbolism but I feel that kinda fits two stars in the middle of a nebula. (Assuming they actually are in the middle of the nebula. Three dimensions and all that.) It's not even too much of a stretch! Both were on Bara Magna, about in those relative positions - possibly even visible from space - during the final battle of 2011. -

For me, it's a toss-up between the BIONICLE: The Game theme and the defeat of the Bohrok Kal (better audio here from BioMedia project).

You know, come to think of it, we still don't know exactly what the G2 characters are. I think it's a safe bet that they're biomechanical, but they already seem more organic than their G1 counterparts; the Protectors have family-like relationships, and their corpses appear to be able to decompose to some extent (hence the skeletons). Slightly more on-topic point: early on, it seems like there's not much interest - in either generation - in explaining exactly what these characters are. I do find it interesting that many commenters in this topic can't remember assuming that they were just robots, yet we can't seem to find any official material early on suggesting they were biomechanical. LEGO may have won an award for implicit clarity here...

Kanohi Imprints
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to TheSkeletonMan939's topic in Bionicle Storyline & Theories
I remember in the film they did some weird ritual where they stood on the UDD symbol to revive Takanuva. Visually, it would make sense for some life energy to be involved there, but it raises a lot more questions, too. Could that have been a prototype Red Star? What was it doing in Mangaia, though? And if Vakama knew it was there, why didn't he use it for Lhikan? Then again, while Vakama definitely knew how to use it, he really didn't appear to have a clue what it did (he said something about awakening the Great Spirit - nope, Takanuva). Wow, I'm rambling worse than usual here. Time to leave before it gets worse! -
Just checked some of the early comics for references to mechanical life because I'm a huge nerd and needed a nice dose of nostalgia today anyways. Here's what I found: Abstract: throughout most of the comics, there's no reference to the Toa's (or any species') mechanical nature. If you were just to read the script, you could easily assume they were fully organic. They definitely breathe, which doesn't make much sense for robots. Most notably in #2: Later, in the Bohrok saga, it's a pretty big surprise when Kopaka figures out that the Krana are alive. You'd think they'd already know that, since they're fully organic and probably pulsing a little bit. I always imagined them pulsing like an alien brain or something. Maybe it's because they're not used to seeing fully organic life? But then there's lots of plantlife and a few organic creatures on Mata Nui, too, so, hmm. </ramble> Then there's this interesting bit from #6: (emphasis mine - I mean, sort of, that particular phrase is emphasized in the comic but so are a LOT of things that I didn't bother to emphasize) So apparently being biomechanical makes you not alive. In conclusion: Yes, I think the biomechanical nature of the characters was introduced later, but not in the way you'd expect. (It was probably canon from the beginning, but not relevant in any way) I think that early in the series, they were treated no differently than ordinary living beings and their robotic appearance was treated as nothing more than artistic license, and only later did the writers make it an explicit part of the story. (I remember vividly - it might have been 2006 - a discussion about how the Toa's organic tissue atrophied and decayed while they were in their canisters, while their armor was fine; when they put their pieces back together, the tissue grew back) P.S. If you happen to have a collection of the comics lying around, I'd highly recommend giving them another read! They're great. The Bohrok saga, in particular, is my favorite. And lots of interesting nods to future story... "Do you ever get the feeling there's a lot more to this island than we know about?" "Yes. It is not a comforting thought." And then there was Tahu's "That voice... I 'hear' it in my mind!" which immediately reminded me of how inarticulately G2 Tahu got the same point across...

...no? But that one's a little bit conspicuous, too... And one that's more for BZPower than BIONICLE: Of course, I'm not quite sure how to pronounce "stomache" or "brakelatabasaasta" (can't even remember how to spell the latter), and I'm not sure what possible use the phrase "secret stomache message" would have in normal conversation... But I would laugh so hard if I heard this happen.

Simplifying the Species List
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to Click's topic in Bionicle Storyline & Theories
I'm of the opinion that MU characters don't necessarily need to belong to a species, since there's no concept of reproduction anyways. Why can't all the various Dark Hunters and such just be one-off Great Being experiments?- 74 replies

Journey's End = The End?
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to fishers64's topic in Bionicle Storyline & Theories
Ok, I'm not quite sure what happened here on Page 2, but I skipped ahead to post my thoughts on the OP... My opinion is actually the opposite of most of the sentiment here: I like the clunky Greg reveals (although it would have been cool if they were less clunky), but dislike the unfinished serials that ultimately raised more questions than they were even supposed to answer. So I would prefer to take all the various facts that emerged after the story - Red Star, Velika, etc - but ignore the beginnings of the serials and say the story just ended at Journey's End, and oh by the way here's a few things we wanted to reveal but ran out of time.- 155 replies

Takua's Mask Before Pakari?
Jedi Knight Krazy replied to Banana Gunz's topic in Bionicle Storyline & Theories
Let me try a quick interpretation that preserves both the mundane and symbolic "causes" of Takua's mask oddities: Takua's original mask - which he kept when he was transferred to Metru Nui - was a colorless Pakari; tinted blue by his Av-Matoran abilities, not by paint. Because his memories were wiped, this ability was fully subconscious. It was blue because Takua's just kind of glitchy (read: lovably incompetent), being the first Matoran and all.To preserve his cover (because they couldn't get the mask to stay red or yellow), the Order of Mata Nui made blue into a valid, but "rare", Ta-Matoran color during the Time Slip. (via brainwashing and memory wipes, etc., same as the rest of the Time Slip really)When Takua's mask broke, he tried several masks, but none of them fit because he was an Av-Matoran and his head was shaped slightly differently. So he picked a blue Pakari, just like his old one. How's that? It doesn't fit well because he's destined to wear another mask, both in- and out-of-universe. Similarly, blue is a Ta-Matoran color solely because of Takua, both in- and out-of-universe. -
