  1. Hey, folks. I thought I pop in and give update since BrickFair VA tomorrow. Man, today was a whirlwind of day preparing for that (I am glad that I decided months ago to take off today from work. It was definitely was needed.). XD But well, I managed to get all my luggage ready. I got some of our schedule a bit more nailed down (Admittedly I would like to have done that a bit sooner than today, but my friend was busy last weekend.), which I guess I will share here really quick: Wednesday - Leaving at 10 AM (Originally it was going to be 7 AM... But due to the check in time, we kind had to change that plan as we probably would gotten there at like 9:30 AM, which means we would have keep our luggage in hot car for quite a few hours as we can't check in till 3 PM. However according to phone conservation, the earliest check in without an additional charge is 1 PM.). - Arrival Time in Virginia be around 12:50 PM (Assuming there is not too much traffic and stuff) - Have a quick lunch, then head to hotel to check in (As mention before, it should be around 1 PM at that point) - After checking in and carrying our stuff to the room, we will probably take a rest in hotel room for a bit - Currently we shooting to head over to convention center around 3 PM and well, we should be there for most of day after that (We might step out for a quick dinner at some point) Thursday - The plan right now is to skip the convention day and check out some of local stuff like the Air & Space Museum, ect. Friday - I am not completely sure about, but I think we will be around later in the day for convention. *shrugs* Saturday - I should be around most of public hours (I might step out for like meal or something). I am not sure about after that as we were talking about idea of maybe checking out the laser tag event thing. Although my friend is not BZPower member, so I am not sure if he would be allow to come with (I mean we would both pay the fee to go and all.). *shrugs* Sunday - Again, I should be around for public hours and closing ceremonies stuff. That and I will be around to help with MOC tear down stuff obviously (Which I assume I give my MOCs off to Black Six after that as I am letting BZP take them to BrickFair NJ). That's about it really. I look forward to meeting you awesome folks and getting to experience a little what like behind the table. Hopefully I won't be a total social failure there. Uh, I guess I will see some of you folks later. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have great week. - JMJ 2015
  2. Hey, folks. I thought pop back in today and let you all know how things are going this week. Mostly in terms of a BrickFair VA stuff as hey, the trip next week, so its time to run around like a headless chicken as I try make sure I have everything ready. XD Before I start on that though, I thought I take a moment and wish BZPower a happy birthday since I hadn't done that yet. Happy Birthday, BZPower! As I mention in my previous entry, thank you for so many years of great memories and here's to many more. Alright, with that done, let's back on to the topic of BrickFair VA. First up, I decided on what MOCs that I will be bringing with me. Originally I was going to ship them, but I kind decided last week that I would just bring them with me since it will save money on shipping cost. That and I kind got sidetracked working on my tenth year anniversary gift to BZPower. So yeah, I am bring my MOCs with me, which is probably for the best since it would be kind weird going to a LEGO convention without any LEGO on you (It also avoids me having awkwardly ask Black Six if I could help with my MOCs. XD). Really I only issue that I have with my MOCs (Beside, the fact that they are not that good.) at the moment is I am struggling to think of names for them. It mostly an issue because I need to fill out the forms for both BZPower and BrickFair VA website (Yes, I am aware I won't get MOC Cards since I miss the deadline, but you can still registered there. However I do need to at least do BZPower convention form as I plan on letting BZPower take them to next convention.). Beside that MOC stuff, I believe I am mostly ready for the trip (Although I must admit I am kind of nervous already.). I am going to head to the bank tomorrow to get some cash for the trip and pay my rent obviously (Next month's bills are going to be fun to pay... XD). I also got my BIONILUG brick ready, so it finally have a use next week. Schedule wise, we will be coming down on Wednesday. I am not sure when we will get there exactly, but I am guessing we will be in Virgina by noon or a little earlier (It depends on traffic really.). Although we won't be at convention center till after 3 PM since we can't check into hotel until 3 PM, according to website. So we are probably going to kill some time by checking out the Air and Space Museum nearby. Based on my last conversation with my friend, we are probably skip out on Thursday to check out other things nearby and Friday, we will be around during the afternoon hours. As for Saturday and Sunday, we should be there for most of those days as far as I am aware. That's the basic schedule for our trip. I am going to try nail it down some more this weekend with my friend, so if anything changes I let you folks know. That's about it really. I can't think of anything else to mention, although I probably did forget something. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a great day. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015 P.S. - Check out my 10th anniversary gift, if you hadn't already.
  3. I must admit being this close to the trip is starting to make me feel a little nervous.

  4. Hey, BZPers. This is a bit late, but yesterday was my tenth year anniversary of being BZPower and well, since it is milestone, I thought I would do something special for the day. Now originally I was planning on maybe doing a contest for this milestone. But since I am going to BrickFair VA this year, I thought it would be a better idea to play things a bit more safe. So what did I do instead then? Well, I purchased this a bit earlier in the month and I thought I should share this piece of history with everyone. I should note the VHS tape have nothing of value as it was nothing but static and weird noises (If it did have anything of value, I was planning on giving the footage to BZP.). So yeah, here's the scanned copy of the two books: BIONICLE - Style Guide (Note: You will have download this one as its too big to show up on Google Docs) & BIONICLE - Synopsis. There was also two CDs in the Style Guide binder, although as far as I can tell there is nothing in them that binder doesn't already shown. The CDs are basically just a digital version of the Style Guide (But well, it is not in format that I think I can share with others easily unfortunately.). The CDs do give me access to images reference in the Style Guide's Gallery, so if you want me to upload those somewhere for you folks, just let me know. Oh, and the Market Material section in Style Guide was empty and I guessing it was taken out by LEGO maybe. Most of Style Guide has the stuff that we already knew about 2001 thru 2003. There are some errors here and there such as some Kanohi Nuva Mask descriptions being next to wrong images and it uses what I assume was prototype name for Mask of Light at the time. As for BIONICLE - Synopsis, one interesting thing about that document is that it shows Greg's version of Shadow Toa defeat (I am not sure if he wrote that document though.), which I think is sort of new as that version of defeat was only mention in a guide book before as Cathy Hapka did not use that idea and chose the "switching opponent" method instead. That's all I think that's worth mentioning. I hope you folks like it. And thank you BZPower for ten years of great memories. Here's to ten more years. XD Alright, that's enough from me for today. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  5. Hey, folks. It been awhile since I wrote an entry here, so I thought I pop in today and give you all an update. As the title states though, I actually meant to post this sooner, but I kind of got sidetracked with other stuff on Sunday. That was mostly because I was reorganizing the basement as we got a new shelving unit on Saturday… I would take some pictures to show you how it looks, but basement is still a bit of a mess as I didn’t have a whole lot time to look through some old junk, ect. But anyway, I think I am getting a bit ahead of myself here. I mean that was the end of my vacation week, after all. Let’s rewind a bit. First though, I think I’ll explain why I was off last week. So this week and last week are what my employer calls shutdown weeks, which are basically their recommended time to take your vacation time and they serve as maintenance weeks since they do a lot of cleaning in the shop during these weeks. Most people at my work are entitled to at least two weeks vacation (You also don’t have to take your vacation time during shutdown weeks.). Although it varies depending on how long you have been there. For me personally, I am only entitled to two weeks vacation (And well, I won’t be getting three weeks until four years from now.). Now usually I only take one week off (And it is usually the first shutdown week, which is the week of July 4th) as it means my second week check is basically a bonus check as I basically get paid twice for a single week, which it is kind of nice. Of course, I am kind of breaking that tradition as I will be taking that second week to go down to BrickFair VA, so no bonus week paycheck this year. But well, hopefully BrickFair will be worth giving up that extra check. Alright, that’s enough explaining. Let’s get back on topic, shall we? As you already know, I was off from work last week, so the question now is: What did I do during my week break? Honestly not a whole lot really. I did managed to do at least some of my goals for the week such as renew my photo ID (It was going expired at the end of the month), get a hair cut, and confirmed my reservation at Holiday Inn (Although admittedly I kind have a nagging feeling that they create a new reservation rather than update the one that BrickFair VA website place… I am going to have see about calling them back this weekend.). The only goals that I didn’t meet last week were my BZPower related ones really, which were getting my MOCs ready to ship, checking out Bionicle Generation 2 story, and working on a secret project. Well, in the case of the secret project, I have confirmed that one of things involved with it can’t be done, so that’s stinks. I’ll just have to make due with what I have. Hopefully you folks will like it when you see it. As for MOCs goal, I think I might need your folks’ advice on what to send. Here are some pictures of MOCs that I am considering sending. Although I should note that I will probably will make some changes to a few of MOCs as some of them still have WIP elements. I am curious though to hear any of your thoughts on them. So if you have any thoughts, feel free to share them. Thanks in advance, if you do. Beside that stuff, I managed to completed a couple of video games from my Steam library last week. Those games were Her Story & Batman: Arkham Asylum. I thought they both were pretty interesting, especially Batman: Arkham Asylum. Like once I started playing it, I just couldn't stop. I spent a good amount of three days exploring the Asylum and trying to find everything I could in the game (I managed to get all Riddler trophies.). So yeah, I rather liked the game and I look forward to checking out Batman: Arkham City at some point. Hopefully it will be just as fun as Arkham Asylum was (Although I imagine finding all Riddler trophies will be quite a task in it considering City looks more open world and stuff.). Uh... That's about it for my vacation last week. Oh, wait... I didn't mention that I checked out my first gaming convention on June 27th. Really I would go on about that here, but I already ramble enough about it on my Tumblr, so I'll spare you the details as I doubt you will want to read the wall of text recap that I wrote there. But yeah, I had a fun day at that convention with some friends (It is called, "Too Many Games" Con for those wondering.) and I got to see Jurassic World later (I ended up seeing it twice during my vacation since my sister wanted to see it too.). Personally I liked Jurassic World for what it was. I won't say it was a perfect film, but it certainly was entertaining and had its moments. *shrugs* Alright, that's enough from me for today. I hope you all have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read this. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  6. Hey, folks. I thought I would take the opportunity today to share some of my thoughts on this year’s E3. Bethesda - Overview So first up is Bethesda since they were the first conference, I saw this year. Now I got to be honest I am not really that familiar with Bethesda. I mean I hadn’t play any of their games before (Although I do “own” Dishonored & Skyrim on Steam. I just hadn’t gotten around to playing either of those game.), so I am not sure really how to judge their conference as I had no expectations for it. Therefore, I would probably take my thoughts here as a grain of salt really. Not that I really had a problem with conference. I actually thought they did pretty well in terms of coverage for the games. Although personally I can’t say I care for some of their games (Such as Doom & The Elder Scrolls: Legends). Really the only games from the event that interested me were Dishonored 2 and Fallout 4. I care about Dishonored 2 mostly because while I have not play the first game yet, I am familiar with the game since I did watch a Let’s Play of it (By Youtuber, Jesse Cox, for those wondering.), so I am glad to hear there will be another game in that universe. And well, the trailer was pretty awesome and shown off Emily as a playable character. As for Fallout 4, I mostly care abut it due to high levels customization shown off in the trailer and because it looks like it could be fun. *shrugs* I admit I am not completely sold it since it does feel kind weird jumping into a series at fourth installment. Hopefully it will be easy to get into, if I do consider getting it in the future. Alright, that's all I have say on Bethesda conference. Oh, and feel free to suggest some Bethesda PC games to me since like I say I hadn't play any games from them before, so I am interested to hear if there are any that I should check out. Thanks in advance. Microsoft - Overview Next up is Microsoft conference and I'll admit I am not fan of Microsoft really. It mostly because they kind of "killed" Rare Studios. So with that biased in mind, I would say their conference was alright. They actually showcase some interesting indie stuff. But outside of that, I was kind bored with their presentation, especially when they were talking about Halo or that car game. XD Uh, the games that interested me (if I had an Xbox One) were the following: - ReCore - Beyond Eyes (Hoping for PC release) - Tacoma (Again, hoping for PC release) - Cuphead - Rare Replay - Sea of Thieves Outside of that, the HoloLens presentation was kind cool. I am interested to see what might come from that technology. Another cool thing that they announced the Xbox One will now be backward compatibility (It feel a bit late) with Xbox 360. I mean it doesn't interest me personally as I own neither system, but it was a nice thing for Microsoft to do. Alright, that's all I have say about Microsoft. Electronic Art & Ubisoft - Overview I hadn't watched either of these two, so I can't really comment on how they did or if there was any games that I was interested in. Uh, I don't feel like watching either of them right now. XD So I guess that sums up my thoughts on them pretty well. Uh, I might update this later with some thoughts. In the meantime, you are welcome to share what you thought was great about those conferences here. Sony - Overview Okay, it is time for thoughts on Sony conference. Now unlike Microsoft, I like Sony. Mostly because they seem to have a lot more variety when it comes to games (That and well, the Kingdom Hearts series is primarily on their systems. XD). Although I should note that I don't own a PS4 and I have no intention of getting one till at Kingdom Hearts III has been released, assuming it actually end up on PS4. =P But anyway, enough about my bias, personally I thought Sony did the best out of these E3 conferences. Like I really felt like they hit it out of park with these cool titles: The Last Guardian, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and No Man's Sky. They also announce stuff like a remake for FFVII and a sequel to an old Sega game, Shenmue III. Personally I am not too excited about those as I am not too familiar with either series, but it was still a cool announcement and I am sure the fans of both series are happy. They shown some footage from Batman: Arkham Knight, which reminds me that I should check that series out sometime. I mean it has my favorite Batman (Kevin Conroy) in it and looks interesting. So yeah, I might have check that out sometime. I actually got Batman: Arkham City from a friend recently on Steam (Thanks again, Makuta Luroka.). Although I should probably play the series in order, so I'll have to see about getting Arkham Asylum. One last thing of interest from Sony Conference was Uncharted 4. I am not really familiar with the series, but it looks might be kind interesting. Hm...Speaking of Uncharted series, is the series worth checking out? I do have PS3, so if the previous games are on there, I guess I could play them sometime in the future, maybe. That's all I have say about Sony Conference. Nintendo - Overview Its Nintendo time! I don't think I need to explain my bias for Nintendo since I think it is pretty obvious that they are my favorite of three major console companies. And well, I have played Nintendo products for majority of my life. So yeah, I definitely I am bias about them. That being said, I thought this year's E3 announcements were kind lackluster and to be honest, I was kind expecting that after they announced that Zelda U has been delayed and wouldn't be show off at E3 this year (I understood the reason for delay and all, but it would been nice to have seen more of development at least.). I mean not that I am saying they needed a Zelda title to make this E3 awesome or something. I just mean that based on previous Directs from this year, it didn’t feel like they had a lot going on when it comes major titles, outside of Xenoblade Chronicles X and Star Fox (I didn’t include Yarn Yoshi in this list because I don’t think it will be system seller for Wii U.). *shrugs* Still though, for what it is worth, they had one of most entertaining conferences since that Muppet opening was pretty great (I would love to see those Muppets again in the future.). But anyway, since this is Nintendo, I am going share all my thoughts on what they announced today: - Earthbound Beginnings (Or as it is originally known, Mother 1): I’ll admit I probably would prefer to have gotten news that a remake was being made of Mother 1 rather than an updated port as Mother 1 is the most dated (Especially in terms of sprite graphics.) of the trilogy. Of course, as soon as I heard the news, I instantly went to the eShop and brought it because I wanted to show my support for the Mother series. Furthermore, I am curious to see how it compares to its sequel, Earthbound. That and well, I am hoping this might convince Nintendo down the line to release Mother 3 here too. - Super Mario Maker: While I hadn’t really seen any of Treehouse stuff for it yet, it looks like it will be pretty cool, based on what I seen from the Digital Event. I am looking forward to its release. I might even try to attempt the Best Buy thing this weekend for it. XD - Star Fox Zero: I must say this title looks like it should be fun. But man, I wish they could had this as a demo at Best Buy. XD Also Wonderful 101 Director, Hideki Kamiya, loves you. - The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes: I am not sure what think of this game really. I am tempted by it due to multiplayer element, even though I doubt anyone would want to play online with me. XD - Hyrule Warriors Legends: I already own the Wii U version (And I am nowhere near done it), so I don't see much a reason to get it as it is pretty much the same game, but with some bonus Wind Waker characters. *shrugs* - Metroid Prime: Federation Force: Uh, I can't say I care for this one way or the other. Although I do think that it might been a better idea to make a new 2D Metroid game rather than a spinoff. But well, maybe it will surprise me. - Fire Emblem: Fates: I am pretty hype for this game, although I hope they don't make me have to buy the game three times to get the whole experience. Additionally I also gotten word that marriage will be thing again, but it doesn't look like same-sex marriages were included, which is extremely disappointing... *sigh* - Genei Ibun Roku X FE: Honestly I don't know what to think of this game. I should probably watch some Treehouse stuff on it as this trailer really tells me nothing. XD - Xenoblade Chronicles X: THE HYPE IS ON FIRE! Yeah, I am mega hype for this game. I am so glad we finally got a release date. - Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer: I am kind of interest in this. Mostly because I am curious about the gameplay element and how Amiibo cards work. - Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival: I'll be honest I am only interested in this for the Amiibo figures. XD The game itself, I don't think I would have anyone to play it with. - Yoshi’s Wolly World: I loved Yoshi's Island as a kid, so naturally I am pretty excited about this new Yoshi game and I look forward to play it. Also I must have those special Yoshi amiibo! XD - Yo-Kai Watch: Eh... I don't really care either way about this. I got enough games to deal with as it is. XD - Fatal Frame: Madien of Black Water: I am bit disappointed that they kept this out of Digital Event, although I understand the reasoning. As for my thoughts on it, I am actually interested in it. I watched someone play one of older games in the series before, so I think I will give this game a try. - Chibi-Robo: Zip-Lash: Like Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, the Amiibo packed with this is mostly what I care about. - Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam: Okay, I am not familiar with Paper Mario series. But I do enjoy Mario & Luigi series, so I am interested what will come from this. I don't know if I will buy it at release though. - Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash: Eh... Yeah, I can't even pretend to care about this game. And those were my thoughts on the Nintendo conference. Obviously I didn't hate it or something, but it definitely wasn't the ideal E3 event with announcements on big secret projects that making me go, "Take my money, Nintendo." Square Enix - Overview Honestly there wasn't a whole lot of interesting things going on at Square's presentation. Really the only noteworthy things from it were Kingdom Hearts III trailer and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trailer, which generated major hype for me. I was especially hyped by the Kingdom Hearts III trailer, even though the game won't be coming out until like 2017 or later. XD *** And that's all my thoughts on this year's E3. Feel free to share your own here, if you want. Alright, that's enough from me for today. I hope you are having a great week and thanks for taking the time to read this. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  7. Honestly that KH3 trailer is highlight of my night. I am just so excited. - JMJ 2015
  8. Hey, folks. Its been awhile since I have done one of these entries, so I thought I pop in and let you know how things are going. Really there is not a whole lot to say. Things mostly been same old same here (Wake up, go to work, go home, use free time in some way, go to bed...Repeat). So nothing exciting really (I mean I would talk about work stuff, but I imagine that would bored most of you greatly.). Uh... I got Splatoon recently, for those that might be wondering (Although my status message here probably gave it away quite clearly.). Personally I am enjoying it. Although I will admit in its current state, it is overpriced, especially if you added the Amiibo for it into the equation. So yeah, I can't blame some people for waiting to get it as it does feel like it could used some more content. Another game mode or two for online would been nice to have. Bosses in single play mode (Excluding Final Boss, whom I am currently struggling to beat.) could use some more difficult as well (Like third boss, I beat super quick. There was little challenge to that one at all.). So yeah, its far from perfect. But I am enjoying it and there is promise of future free updates (Which they have already introduced a new map and some weapons), so I feel at least somewhat justified in my purchase of it. That and well, I guess it is my "vote with my wallet" that Nintendo trying new things is a good thing. *shrugs* But anyway, I wouldn't say I am saying I am that good at Splatoon. I mean I am kind of afraid to try Ranked Mode since I became level 10, not too long ago. XD I don't really have a weapon that I am particularly good at really. Although I like using N-Zap '85 and Splattershot Jr, so I guess you could say those. Oh, and I have yet to use the Amiibo, so I can't really comment on those features. I don't really know how with friends thing for Splatoon works exactly. But if you want to play Splatoon with me, feel free (My Nintendo ID is BZPJMJ64.). I am sure you will crush me. XD *** In other news, I been discussing with my friend about BrickFair VA trip lately and well, trying nail down a bit of schedule for us since its good to be prepare and stuff. And well, I thought maybe I should ask you folks for some advice since a lot of you are veterans of this kind of thing and I am kind of noob with this traveling stuff. So yeah, I appreciate any advice. I guess write some general questions for you folks to answer, if you want. 1) Is there any particular event at BrickFair VA that we should check out while we are there (Outside well, the MOCs and the people)? 2) Is there anything outside of the con that we should check out (Museums, ect)? Alright, that's enough from me for today. I hope you all have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read this. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  9. Splatoon is so much fun!

  10. Well, I got 9 to 10 weeks to get all my WIP MOCs done for BZP Convention Circuit. The pressure is on. XD

  11. Hey, folks. I thought I pop in again and let you all know all how jury duty went since I mention it in the last entry. I went in at 7:40 AM, which is early since its start at like 8:30 AM. And well, after finding my way around with signs, I went inside the right building and went thru the metal detector (First time I been through one of those. Put my book, keys, wallet, and phone in scan thingy.). Once that was done, I follow signs again to Jury Assembly and I gave my notice paper to folks at the desk there. After that, I start to wait for other people to show up, so they could start (I was like second person to arrival there.). I am glad I brought a book as I would been bored. XD Oh, and for those wondering what book I was reading, its "Sphere," by Michael Crichton. I actually had this book for awhile since I brought it after I enjoyed some of Michael Crichton's other literature works (Jurassic Park, The Lost World, and The Andromeda Strain). But well, I never got around to read it until now. I mean it was either this book or Star Wars: Survivor's Quest; which I admit I am not that familiar with all Star Wars EU stuff (Not that it matters too much now due to these stories being non-canon by Disney.), so I thought that one might cause confusion for me. But anyway, it was actually rather fitting that I start reading "Sphere" as apparently its about a three hundred year old alien spacecraft being discovered in Pacific Ocean. I say its fitting because I start about a month or so ago watching the X-Files, which has its share of extraterrestrial stories as well (By the way, I am currently on Season 6 of the X-Files. Although I still got to watch the movie that goes between it and season 5, so I am not exactly on season 6 just yet.). Of course, I didn't get very far into that book before we start filling out some jury paperwork (Basically a questionnaire and donation form to donate your jury duty money to one of three special programs.). I think I was on like page 26 (Yeah, I know you and my sister would been like halfway through the book with time I had.). After we finished that, they gave us a bathroom break around 9:40 AM, I think. And when we return (10:00 AM), they basically told us the case has been settle out of the court and sent us all home. So yeah, that was my first jury duty experience. I must admit I was kind of relief by that news. Not because I had a problem with performing my civic duty, but rather it was due my nerves finally calm down. I don't know how describe it really, but new things like this always get me work up. I guess because I worried a lot about screwing up and well, interacting with new people in general. (Which is why I kind of glad I won't be going alone on that trip this summer. I am going to need a familiar face to at least try to help keep that in check.) Oh, and they did count me being there as the jury duty being served, so I shouldn't be called until next year, I guess. Alright, that's about it really. I can't think of anything else talk about. I mean I hadn't really done any more work on spaceship MOCs (Did I mention those here or was that just on Twitter? I don't remember. XD), so nothing new to mention about them. Hm...I guess I mention really quick that I ended up picking a "NEW" 3DS XL. I must admit I wasn't planning on getting one this soon, especially since I usually don't upgrade my systems (If you want proof of that, just ask me about my original DS. I kept that system until original 3DS came out.). But well, since I would like play Xenoblade Chronicles 3D at some point in the future and Majora's Mask Edition of "New" 3DS XL came back in stock, I decided to get it early. I hadn't got around to using it yet, but it definitely seem like it faster than my old 3DS was. I am looking forward to trying it out with some games (Like Kid Icarus: Uprising as I am curious how it will play with second analog stick.). Okay, I think that's enough from me for today. As always, I hope you have a good week and thank you for taking the time to read this. Oh, and thanks again to those that commented in the last entry, I appreciate it. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  12. @Ehksidian: Well, I definitely glad I didn't get Grand Jury Duty as that's sound rough. XD @SPIRIT: XD Thanks for the laugh. @Vorahk1Panrahk2: Ah. I heard that from several people. So yeah, definitely bringing a book for sanity's sake. @Makuta Luroka: Ah, I see. It doesn't look like that be the case for me, unless they don't pick me. @Lyichir: Yeah, I actually saw your response to that before I copy that entry over to here, which is why I edited the phrasing of things in both entries as I want to note that I was aware that there was a chance that I won't pick for a trial. lol Yeah, I imagine if I said what SPIRIT wrote, they wouldn't pick me. I could not do that with a straight face though. XD Although to be honest, I don't really mind if I am pick or not (Well, my wallet cares...). I mean work kind slow this week anyway, so they couldn't pick a better week to do this thing. Hm...I think I'll add what you say on Tumblr here in a quote for reference. Its good advice. Thank you for all information, Lyichir. =D @Nigel Thornberry: Well, I am glad see I wasn't only one that thought to refer Ace Attorney in an entry about court. XD @fisher64: Yup, as I said above, I am definitely bringing a book as it better than staring into space for hours on end (Which if these "interviews" are done in alphabet order, I am definitely going be there awhile due to my last name.). @AT: Ah, yeah, I figured there was a rule like that about electronics. Alright, I am definitely just going to bring a book. Wow... I hope that doesn't happen to me. But well, at least they count it for you. *** Thanks everybody for taking the time to comment. I appreciated it and I hope you all have a great week. Hopefully things will go well for me tomorrow. - JMJ 2015
  13. So this Wednesday is going be the first time that I been summoned to be a juror before. I must admit I am kind of nervous about the idea of sitting in on a court case (Well, assuming they pick me for the case.). But well, I guess the Ace Attorney games have prepared me for it. *One of the Pursuit themes from Ace Attorney series starts playing* … Okay, speaking seriously again, I hope I do a decent job at it, assuming they pick me. I mean I don’t really know what involve with it, outside of a lot of waiting and working with the other jurors involved (Again, assuming they pick me for the jury.) and well, losing a day’s pay at work (Which means no overtime this week...) since the court only paying me $9/Day to be there. Oh and you have to go through some sort of interview process for them to see if you are right juror for the case. *shrugs* So yeah, I would appreciate any advice that you veteran jurors might have. Hm…I guess I should maybe bring a book or something with me, so I have something to do during the waiting parts. I would bring my 3DS, but I imagine that would probably be frown upon in the courts. That and well, you do have to go through a metal detector to enter the place, so I think it would be best not to carry a ton of electronic stuff as it means more stuff to keep track of. *shrugs* Again, I would appreciate hearing any advice you folks might have. With that said, I think that’s it for this entry. I am sorry that it was kind dull read. Thanks for taking the time to read it and I hope you all have a great week. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  14. Hey, folks. Its time for yearly tradition of telling you folks how my birthday went today. Like last year, I don't have a lot to say. It mostly just a normal work day really, although I was very tired today (I probably should gone to bed earlier yesterday. XD). So it wasn't fun or exciting work day, especially considering I am doing quotes and that can very dull when you are doing them for like 8 hours straight (We also had an issue today as our supplier's website was having server issues.). But anyway, that's probably boring stuff to mention to you folks. Hm... I guess I mention here what I got for my birthday as I got more gifts than I was expecting this year (I mean I was expecting nothing really. XD). So here's short list of what I got for my birthday: - The entire Professor Layton series + Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright* - Grim Fandango Remastered* (on Steam) - Knock-knock** (on Steam) - Cake and Grilled Cheese*** - Cards*** *from a real life friend (Its same friend that helped me take those day visits to BrickFair VA. And as mention in previous entries, he also coming with me for this year's trip to BrickFair VA) **from Voltex (Lucina) ***from family So yeah, it was a bit surprising that I got that much and part of me doesn't feel like I deserve it really. *shrugs* I especially feel indebted to my friend for getting entire Professor Layton series as last I checked, they were kind of expensive. I definitely going to need to come up a way to pay him back for that. Outside of that stuff and work, I would say I had a good birthday today. I mean I got eat Grilled Cheese (Which is one of my favorites) and I don't feel nearly as tired as I was earlier. So yeah, I would say I am happy with this day for most part. That's all I really have to say about my birthday. As a side note, yesterday was my 5th anniversary of being employed. I don't really anything say about that, beside obviously that I am rather graceful to still have this job. Alright, that's enough from me for today. I apologize if this was kind of a boring read. I hope you all have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read this. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  15. Well, only four days till JMJ is Old Day.

  16. Personally I would like to see Johnny Thunder, Ogel, and Chase McCain (Possibly other characters from LEGO City: Undercover game). I would say Bionicle characters as option too, but I am not sure how well they fit in. I guess they could go with Minifigure style that they use for Hero Factory characters previously though. *shrugs* If they did appear, I think they should be Gen 2 versions since it only makes sense really. I mean Gen 1 characters probably would just cause confusion for newer fans that only know of Gen 2 and well, they would be LEGO's target audience for this, not old fans like myself. - JMJ 2015
  17. Happy Birthday, SPIRIT! I hope you have a great day today.

    1. SPIRIT

      SPIRIT

      Hey thanks.

  18. @TNTOS: Yeah. XD In fairness to the movie though, I think my expectations of it probably were responsible for most of my disappointment in it. Had I not watched the show first, my opinions might have been reversed actually. *** Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I hope you have a great day. - JMJ 2015
  19. Hey, folks. I thought I should pop in today and give another little update here. Although I’ll admit not a whole lot has happen since my last entry really. Just been doing the usual stuff during my free time, which for this month (March) seems be mostly watching stuff on Netflix and well, using Twitter to share random thoughts that I have. XD So yeah, this is probably going to end up being a very TV show related entry as well, I would like to share some of my non-spoiler thoughts on the shows that I been watching. I guess I’ll start off with Firefly since I mention I was watching it in the previous entry here. I believe finished that show about two weeks ago, so everything should be still fresh in my mind hopefully. To start off, I enjoyed the show, although I am definitely disappointed that it was cancelled before anything could come of it. It look like it would been interesting, if it had been given the chance. That being said, I wasn't a huge fan of follow up movie, Serenity. Not so much because some characters that I like died in it (Which I won't mention more than that for spoiler reasons) as I understood from story perspective why their deaths were necessary. It was more because the plot felt extremely rushed to me and as well, I think my expectations were a bit too high for it (I blame the great movie finale that Farscape had for that.). Of course, I am not saying I hate the movie (Serenity) as I like getting to see the crew again and getting some closure with mysteries surrounding River. And the "villain" of the film was also pretty awesome. So yeah, the film has a bit of mixed opinions for me. *** "I'm a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar." *** Moving right along, since I finished Firefly, I kind out of the blue decide to check out the X-Files since I always rather curious about that show (By coincidence, it was on the day that Fox confirmed that they were bringing the X-Files back next year.). And well, I like it. It kind like FRINGE, but with more of focus on extraterrestrials and government conspiracies. Not sure what else to say really since I don't want to bored you with personal theories about an old 90s show. Oh, and I am currently on Season 2, Episode 14. *** "The Truth Is Out There." *** Alright, so the last topic for this entry is WIP MOCs since I got a couple or so in work since I decided build, while I watch the X-Files on Netflix. XD So yeah, here's some links to them: WIP Figure 1 WIP Figure 2 WIP Spaceship I am not sure at this point if I will be shipping all of these MOCs (when they are finished) on the convention circuit. I am thinking about it though, especially "new" spaceship one (Which I might sent along with its "sibling" from last year's circuit as I think they both look rather good together.) *shrugs* Oh, and I am thinking of maybe trying buy some LEGO light bricks as I think it might be neat to have parts of the spaceship light up. I am not sure how well that will go (Especially considering last time I ordered something LEGO related, I never got it. *sigh*), but I am going to see about giving it a shot at least. What are you folks' thoughts on them so far? Just curious is all. I know they are nowhere near as good as any of ones that are posted in BBC forum, so I am not expecting praise or anything on them. XD Well, I think that’s enough rambling for this entry. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a great day. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
  20. Hey, folks. It been awhile since I did a little ramble here, so I thought I pop in and do one today. I guess I’ll start off by confirming (as I have done in the topic here) that I will be going to BrickFair VA this year. Hm…I guess I kind did confirm this in last entry by mentioning what my Brick Badge would look like. Although at that point, I was still working out transportation details. Now those issues have mostly been resolved as the friend, I took the Day Trips with previously, has expressed interest in coming along with me. And well, I have now registered him for the event and placed a reservation for one of BrickFair VA reserved rooms at the Holiday Inn. So I feel pretty safe now saying that me being there will be a thing. Hopefully my friend won’t feel too out of place there. Not that I am saying I am going to fit right in or anything. I mean I am not that good of MOCer (Just look at what I sent on convention circuit last year.) and well, I am a loser with terrible social skills. *shrugs* So I may try to see about checking out some other stuff, outside the convention, like museums, while we are down there. Oh, and we will be there from Wednesday (July 29th) till Monday (August 3rd). Alright, that’s enough on BrickFair VA. I am sure I’ll have more thoughts and stuff on it as we get closer to the date. I imagine my nerves will be completely shot the day before we head down. XD In other news, I guess I mention here really quickly that I finished TV series, Farscape, recently. I must say I enjoyed it a lot. I’m actually still thinking about it, even though I am happy with its conclusion. Well, the conclusion that isn’t the Season 4 finale. That one was literally the worst ending ever (I would describe it, but I rather not spoil things.). I am glad the fans of show were able to push the studio to at least produce a better ending by means of the TV movie, the Peacekeeper Wars. The Peacekeeper Wars was a great ending to the show, although I imagine it could have been even better if a season 5 had been a thing as it was originally planned. But anyway, thanks again to Black Six for suggesting Farscape to me. Oh, since I finished Farscape, I have start watching Firefly for first time since I didn’t feel like jumping back into Star Trek right away. I am currently about halfway through it and to put it simply, I am quite enjoying it. Although I am rather sad that such a unique show (It’s a Space Western!) only had 14 episodes to play with. It feels like it deserve more than that. Maybe that’s just me though. Speaking of Star Trek, I plan on getting back to watching that after I finish with Firefly. Although I decide to change my viewing schedule of it. Originally I was going to watch TNG movies before watching the Enterprise series, but it looks like unfortunately Netflix doesn’t have all of them available for streaming. So new schedule will be as follows: Enterprise > TOS (+ Cartoon) > TOS & TNG films I am probably going to see if my uncle has a copy of any TOS or TNG films that I can borrow since I know he is a big movie and TV buff. That and I am pretty sure he is a fan of Star Trek (I recall him having like models of the Enterprise and stuff.). Alright, moving on from that topic, I guess I can ramble about video games next. Although to be honest, I hadn’t play much video games this month, outside the Beta for A Hat in Time. I guess I’ll talk briefly about A Hat in Time. It looks like it is shaping up to be pretty good from what I play of it (I managed to get 11 of 14 available Time pieces. I have no idea where the first two are, but the third one is on a brutal 3D platforming map called, “Beta Hero Challenge”.). Its menu interfaces are a lot better than they were in Alpha. The camera feature is pretty cool addition (It may of been inspired by Link Selfies feature in the Wind Waker HD.). Oh, and umbrella hookshot is really fun to play with. I admit when I first used it, I thought it made you swing too fast (It doesn’t really work like Wind Waker’s hookshot does as in Wind Waker, you have more control over your swing.). But once I got used to it, it is really ideal way of getting around Mafia Town quickly as you can kind of like chain swing your way to places on the map. So yeah, A Hat in Time is looking pretty good. I look forward to seeing the finished product. It should be fun. Like I said, that’s pretty much the only video game that I played this month. I should probably play more of Majora’s Mask or any other unfinished games that I have. XD Alright, that’s enough on that topic. Hm…I guess the next topic is how my convention circuit MOCs (Dragon’s Head) are coming along. Honestly I hadn’t made any process since I have been waiting for parts for over a month now to arrive. They supposedly ship out two weeks ago, but I have yet to receive the package. So yeah, it has been on hold. Although I am starting to think the Dragon project is too complex for me, so I might just disassemble it and starts over with something else. It’s hard though trying to come up with something that moves or has lights *shrugs* Okay, I think that’s enough rambling for this entry. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have great day. Talk to you later, BZPers. - JMJ 2015
