  1.

Has anyone noticed Kopaka's leadership role?

And it was the greatest seven minutes ever.

I think this is my favorite episode so far, mostly because of all the times Lewa has been completely wrecked, this is the first time an enemy "had to" break through a solid wall to do it.

Broke through a solid wall with a dinky little claw attached to a chain, no less.

(your signature is fantastic, by the way)

  2. I was pretty disappointed myself that the skull gang all share a bunch of parts. At the very least, everybody having unique masks would've been nice. The unique builds sort of make up for it, anyways.

The uniter/unifier terminology makes me wonder. Are they uniting all the tribes together into one civilization again, once the city's been restored?

  3. Uh, no.

There's one sequence in the teaser where all the maskless Toa sans Tahu are grabbing onto Kulta while Tahu faces him down. Did you not see that?

Meanwhile, Kulta and Ekimu's showdown takes place inside the arena, not the forge. It's obvious because of the hexagonal patterns on the ground and the blue-lit color scheme, rather than the orange of the forge.

  4. I want better color schemes. Brown and fluorescent green do not a pleasant combination make. Neither does fluorescent green and bright orange on gunmetal grey.

I think more molded detail would be nice too. The printed detail on the current chestpieces is pretty neat, but imagine if the skull sets all had proper ribcages instead. Like Tridax Pod launchers without the pods.

Oh, and more masks! Something I liked about the 2001 sets was how much variation there was in all the masks and colors.

  5. I'd just like to say I'm really fond of how LEGO tried to diversify its action features with the skeleton gang. The Toa all had the same "arms swinging" thing, but then you've got Skull Warrior with his bow, Skull Basher's "bashing" function, Skull Slicer's four arms, and Skull Scorpio's entire body.

(still hate the color layouts though)

  6. I think you should still put Axonn together with Hydraxon:

They all have long fingers, two toes on each foot, and triangular mouths.

Perhaps Brutaka is also a Makuta prototype. Maybe all Makuta prototypes are powered up by Antidermis (their organic components are built from the same framework as the Makuta's, and contact with gaseous Makuta essence "supercharges" those components the same way steroids enhance performance by increasing the level of male hormones within the body) , it's just that only Brutaka had the opportunity to discover it. Plus, him being a Makuta prototype would go a way to explain why the Brotherhood possesses a copy of his mask.

  7. Personally, the overuse of transparent plastic is turning me off the skull folks. Plus the weird color placement (bright colors against drab colors draw the eye to important places and this guy's midsection is not important) and unfortunate color combinations. Lime green and bright blue used together looks awful against gunmetal grey. Same with lime green and bright orange.

Torran also mentioned the disconnect between massive armor and tiny limbs and I agree. Still, those masks look nice and I like how the four-armed guy has a gear function that looks like it swings all four arms at once.
