  1. Like with the previous part you mentioned, I'd think a skylight would be the best application for a large curved glass piece like that in a City layout. For a piece like this I'd think it might be suitable for letting light into a large modern building like a train or bus station. Hm, okay then, thanks for the suggestion. Next piece is the various lengths of "corrugated pipe" Those can often be good for things like HVAC ducts or downspouts on the sides of buildings.

  3. Don't worry, I'm sure Mercy will come in at least one of the sets.
  4. Hm... the most obvious use to me would be to use that for some sort of skylight (assuming it's in a transparent color). Sharing the color and part number as well might make it easier to cross reference and come up with ideas.
  5. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would suspect that this would be a constraction-only theme in the first place. There has only ever been one licensed theme that had a constraction theme without an accompanying System theme, and that was Ben 10 (not exactly the picture of success). I don't know exactly how likely Overwatch constraction sets ever would have been (I had assumed that, like the vast majority of licensed themes, it would probably be System-only), but a teaser featuring a minifigure hardly disproves the possibility of one..
  6. For me, Lewa: Uniter of Jungle's creative limb builds take the cake when it comes to building experience alone.
  7. That would seem like a relatively accurate scale. But that's not the only consideration in set design. The best scale has to balance a reasonable scale compared to other figs with which scale allows for the best visual representation of the subject itself. For mechs and other vehicles, an added consideration is being able to easily insert and remove a figure without making it too fragile. Which isn't to say they couldn't pull it off at that scale, particularly with the introduction of useful parts like Mixel joints since those Exo-Force days. But they might end up fudging the scale a bit toward something bigger if not doing so would compromise the look or structure of the MEKA.
  8. Yeah, but the teaser video is new. I do wonder if they'd give him regular minifig legs. Because the world is not ready for Zen using his legs. I'm more interested to see how they solve his orbs. Also curious to see how they do the bigger characters like Reinhardt and Dva. Reinhardt seems like he'd be a good candidate for either a bigfig like Mungus from Chima or Killow from Ninjago, or a "semi-bigfig" like Axl from Nexo Knights. I would hope that either way he'd have a standard minifig head, so you could have him either helmeted or with a hairpiece representing his hair and beard. Dva's MEKA, on the other hand, will almost certainly be some sort of brick-built vehicle. It'll be interesting to see how they handle the scale—scale on small mechs can be iffy, and sometimes functionality, detail, or durability requires Lego to fudge the scale a bit like with the multiple Hulkbusters they've done in the Marvel Super Heroes theme. I expect that Bastion would also be a good candidate for a brick-built or mostly brick-built character.
  9. What can you do? TV shows are expensive to produce and from what I've read the viewership of the Nexo Knights TV series was never that much to write home about. I'm happy it seems to at least be getting a sort of conclusion in the sets, with an epic final battle between Merlok and Monstrox. That's more than, say, Exo-Force got. Elves seems to be ending as well, so I'm hoping that we get some sort of epic new theme next year to fill that void...
  10. Of course not. Elves lasted four years and has much better female representation. Both huge improvements on Bionicle G2.
  11. These spinner parts don't have any hidden connection points, though you can definitely make use of them with some creative connections (mainly taking advantage of the 4 module diameter of the interior section of the rim). The ripcords, however, do work with regular Technic gears, though, making them superior to older ones like the Rhotuka or Speedorz ripcords. As a side note, the spinner rims from the Spinjitzu Masters sets DO have "connection points" of sorts, as seen here: https://twitter.com/AndrewBarnick/status/946785335563997184 I got this one at BrickFair and was similarly disappointed by the slow speed and low distance. I've seen people get better distance by starting from an elevated position, so I might try that at some point. On the other hand, I was much more impressed by the build than you seem to be. The handle may not necessarily NEED to be that bulky, but it made for an interesting build regardless, and I was quite impressed with the finished product's ergonomic form and heft. That said, the higher price point does bite, especially if you plan on collecting all five of these (and unlike the Airjitzu spinners and Spinjitzu Masters, there are no added weapons or weapon racks to add variety to the builds of each set). I might still want to get the full series for those gorgeous figs but I'll probably wait for the inevitable sales.
  12. Black on gold (or yellowish-orange) would look awesome!
  13. I can't really even fathom what a $150 Overwatch set would even consist of. I'd be surprised to see the price points reach that high. A CMF series seems plausible, probably BrickHeadz, and a range of System sets, but even then I'd think $100 might be the highest it'd go.
  14. Not even close to worth the cost of remaking all those worn out molds. Even if they did make the investment, it's hard to imagine sales being able to recoup those costs with remakes when most Bionicle sets and parts (barring a couple of rarities) are cheap and plentiful on the secondary market.
  15. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32474#T=C Curiously, it appears that several non-production colors are available on BrickLink. I suspect spray paint may be involved, although mislabeled colors pop up often enough. Note that the printed versions would have different BrickLink catalog entries. I reckon some of those are unprinted versions of printed ones (either ones that escaped the factory or ones with the prints removed). Dark Gray, Orange, and Sand Blue ones have appeared in sets with prints but not without. The only ones beyond that are Yellow, Neon Green, and Flat Silver, and the latter two at least are most likely just misidentified.

  17. This is a genius way to give an existing coaster a new lease on life. And I never realized it was the same layout as the Ricochet... I remember that being one of my favorite coasters.
  18. Two likely reasons: firstly, to better distribute the cost of all those new molds across more sets (see also the City, Super Heroes, Speed Champions, and Friends sets that have used or will used the track), and secondly to provide a more affordable option for kids and families who can't afford this $380 behemoth. There are some logistical issues that might prevent a loop from working with the design of these roller coaster cars and tracks. The cars can't really make horizontal turns and vertical inclines at the same time, which is sort of a necessity for a loop so that the start and end of the loop don't intersect.
  19. Not being able to take off masks doesn't necessarily matter if they could use Suvas, though, as Iron_Man5 suggests. That would allow them to swap between masks without removing and replacing their masks. There's also the fact that Teridax's armor was for all intents and purposes crippled in Legacy of Evil—the hole behind the mask may have been a result of being crushed, or, alternatively, an impermanent feature that a Makuta's shapeshifting power might be able to correct for.
  20. Depends what you mean by perfect. It's not necessarily a perfect replica, since the original had a stickered torso instead of a printed one. But in terms of quality that makes the new one better, not worse. The figure is also holding a printed box representing the set he came in!
  21. Huh, so I've had the Rahkshi since 2003, and I've never noticed that their colors were supposed to be somewhat metallic. I just presumed they were a slight deviation of the standard Toa colors. Did I miss something with those guys? Yup! Even though Bricklink doesn't list the colors differently (except for White Metallic, listed as Pearl White), all six Rahkshi used rare metallic colors for their heads, backs, and feet: 184 Bright Red Metallic 185 Bright Blue Metallic 186 Dark Green Metallic 187 Earth Orange Metallic 149 Black Metallic 183 White Metallic All of these were only used for their respective Rahkshi (and parts tubs that included Rahkshi parts), with the exception of Black Metallic, which was also used for 2003 Makuta's mask and a few Vorahk parts reused in the Kikanalo.
  22. A less whiny fan community would be a plus. Not sure that's possible for a Bionicle theme at all, though. In all seriousness, there's definitely things that would be nice to see for G3. G2 pushed things forward really far in terms of builds, so it'd be amazing if a subsequent Bionicle theme could go even farther. Articulated fingers? Articulated... faces? Bigger, more complex sets like creatures and vehicles? System sets with IFB-style minifigures? There are a lot of directions I'd love to see Bionicle go in the future. I wouldn't want those things to come at the expense of the advances G2 already made, though, particularly the integration of CCBS-based articulation and Technic-based action features. Story-wise... just a more consistently developed world and characters would be a plus. Longer-form storytelling (like a movie or TV/Netflix series with more episodes) could help in that respect, though I fully recognize the barriers that exist to that, especially after G2 failed to meet expectations. A part of me had thought last year that Bionicle's best shot at a return sooner rather than later might be a movie in the Lego Movie universe, though with the lessened acclaim for the Lego Batman Movie and Lego Ninjago Movie, I'm not sure that's all that likely anymore.
