  1. If I remember correctly these sorts of discrepancies between different representations of the same event in different media weren't uncommon back then. I think this was before Greg had as absolute control over the story as he did in later years?
  2. So excited to try this! Anyone got it working on Windows 10 yet?

    This Guy

Congrats! Was it from a QLD uni?
  4. What has the world come to? (I'm guessing no secret time-delay prank was found? I've heard April Fool's rules where for it to count the prank has to be put into motion in the first half of the day even if not revealed until later - not sure if that's a common rule though...)
  5. Grievous but I'm a massive Grievous fan anyway so the competition was over for me before it started.
  6. I'm just picking out my favourites/the most significant sets of each release really. Ended getting nearly half of the 2015 ones though so did go over budget/allocated storage room requirements.
  7. Ayy! I like it! Can't wait to enjoy it in like 6 or 7 years or something.
  8. I'm guessing there's already unofficial chatrooms that pop-up occasionally - probably easier to use them than deal with the issues involved with running an official site one.
  9. I like getting a welcoming messages when joining forums - even if its an automated system its nice to have a private introduction pointing out stuff. Especially if you're not used to navigating forums and aren't going to find things like the specific welcoming topics.
  10. Always debate giving some to my younger brother - but have never been able to bring myself giving him one that isn't a double up.... Maybe I'm a bad person - I do buy him new ones though.
  11. Man this year has really sped by didn't realise we were at that time of year already!
  12. Matoro because he always felt the least mean. Also I liked him a lot as a Matoran too. That being said I really liked quite a lot of aspects of Nuju's character - primarily though his role as a Matoran in Metru Nui and as the whistle clickin Turaga.
  13. Yay pics! The descriptions had some really interesting info - looking forward to what the "Summer" holds.
  14. For a second I thought that '-' meant Gali had negative 7 luck and was thinking I don't recollect her being dramatically unlucky.
  15. Yes, even if these had stayed "Voodoo Heads", they would definitely have evolved further before being released. This is true with any prototypes from this early in development. However, even if these might look a lot different from the sets we ended up getting (they almost closer resemble the LEGO Technic hockey players from a few years later than the Toa we know and love), they definitely worked as a proof-of-concept to show LEGO there was a market for Technic action figures with dynamic action features. Even as rough as they are, they seem to demonstrate a lot more action play value than the Slizer and Roboriders sets that came before them. It's really amazing to see these concept models. The amount of time, care, and attention that went into planning BIONICLE before its release is one of the major factors that sets it apart from flops like Galidor. These models really show how far the concept evolved during that development process. Though the similarity of the Muaka prototype to the final set is not too surprising, since the 2001 Rahi generally had more Technic Competition/Cyber Slam DNA than action figure DNA, and so had a lot more precedent to fall back on. Oh yeah I get you on that - might point was more that it appears in the decade following this it appears there was a shift in the order of the design process - i.e. it feels to me as time progressed they started worrying about the visual aspect of the sets earlier in the development stages than in this case where it appeared to come after the functionality was designed.
  16. I chose canon size since I like my fiction being extreme and unrealistic by real world standards. Is more exciting that way and more fun for the imagination.
  17. Very very cool to see this! Seems back then the design process prioritised play-functions first, determining which worked well and were fun to play with, then adapting the sets to be more aesthetic and visually appealing. That's the impression I get anyway, particularly from the way they presented the sets. Even if the original concept in that form had stuck I suspect there would have been another visual stage of development following the functional one given the lack of colour variety in the sets we saw there.
  18. Not sure I'm going to be able to afford this - but I wish I could.
  19. I also saw this on the Back to the Future Page on Facebook? So many different universes involved!
  20. Only one that's a definite is Skull Grinder - will decide on the rest at the time I suspect.
  21. Bionicle nostalgia jackpot there - collecting these must really fill that hole the lack of modern collectibles creates. Well the hole exists for me anyway.
  22. If I were in their shoes I'd personally reuse the word Vahi somewhere maybe as a secondary name (instead of primary). I mean it'd be kind of nice and it's another nice throwback and doesn't cause any issues as far as I'm aware. That being said given the Mask of Creation/masks in general don't have specific names other than their like title name I'm guessing Vahi won't ever be used even in passing reference (seems like the phrases such as Toa etc... will be phased out too in favour of the title naming system).
  23. Argh money vs desire! ...*Adds to list anyway* I really want to get this and the Lego Bartman minifig...
