  1. Yeah, it was only after writing this that I realized just how hard it might be to pick out a favorite myth, which is part of the reason I don't list one for myself.

I have not yet had the chance to read them, but they have been on my to-read list for quite a while now. From what I've seen about them, they seem extremely interesting. I was actually planning to start reading them quite soon, but ended up finding a copy of both the Kalevala and the Mabinogion which have taken up my recent reading.

  2. Hi Indigo, been a long time since I last talked to you.

It's good to hear that you managed to get out of the relationship. Far too often people get trapped in unhealthy relationships, often with very painful results. Managing to get out of those kinds of relationships seems to be one of the hardest things to do, due to the psychological aspects at play.

    Good to see you again.

(I'm The Dark Chronicler, if you remember me. Hi!)

  3. Oh wow, so many missed comments. Sooo sorry about that. Real life, you know?

Onarax: Yeah, anything like Archery won't turn out well... but Beast Wrestling would be awesome.

Despair: Really like the ideas of pets.

Onarax: Sil should be fine... as long as he has no weapons or powers... and isn't quite as dangerous as I last saw him.

Despair: A EVIL DEATH CAT from... Techna, I think.

    Onarax: Indeed he was.

Despair: I think I agree with you there. Now as leaders of factions, we can have somewhat powerful pets.

Cadias: Exactly what I was thinking, robotic pets would all need to be made out of metal, a highly important resource in the desert world. So, they would not be cheap either.

Onarax: ... Such an EVIL, EVIL, feline...

Despair: Never trust a cat, never.

  4. Driven nearly insane by all the misery in his past, a man from Ireland seeks his revenge. Wearing a pair of black sunglasses, he heads out on the adventure of a lifetime. He's going to turn his day around, no matter the cost. It will be the best day he's ever had, or someone is going to pay.

  5. I've always had a skill for coming up with names rather quickly, never usually taking over a minute to think up at the very least one name, if not multiple. I can work with Bionicle, or Human with relative ease.

It takes me about half an hour to create a character, without any idea of how I'm going to complete them. I suppose I just don't just as much thought into them as you guys. XD

What always kills me though is the personality section. I always feel that I never put enough into it, but I really don't want to write up a whole psychological profile.

  6. Faction concept modified to fit Cadias' idea:

    Nui-Jaga

A smaller organization that has earned itself a better name among the violence, often using reasonable methods to resolve conflict. They are looked down upon by some of the larger groups as being barely worth their time and effort. The group has been slowly growing in size, as more and more people turn their support to the more reasonable dealings they are known for. Members are known for having a Nui-Jaga scorpion tattooed on them, to show their loyalty. They have taken it upon themselves to not only help their members, but also the civilians to evacuate to the city.

Nui-Jaga was formed by a group of friends banding together when they discovered the hidden laboratory of the Great Beings within Kirse, finding a treasure of incredible machinery and designs. They started up Nui-Jaga, a small group far below the notice of the major factions. But when rumors spread about the discovery, they took center stage. At first, they started trading away their discoveries, but soon some other groups decided not to pay for what they wanted and to just take the machines. During these struggles, the Nui-Jaga lost several founding members to enemies.

Then, for some reason, the attacks stopped and Nui-Jaga was able to rebuild itself. Poisoned Blood Guard were seen in the area, but it is claimed by their leader that they were unconnected. Slowly, support for Nui-Jaga rose, and new members began to join the new face of courage. Some were inspired by the group's leader and sole surviving founder, Deveriis, while others joined due to the fairness which Nui-Jaga attempt to uphold.

    The Freerunners

The Freerunners are not so much an organization as they are four loosely connected groups. They are groups of thieves, taking advantage of the current situation to earn themselves power and currency. They do not have the largest, nor the smallest number of members. They are hated by all of the other groups, minus the Brakas. Freerunners are hard to catch, and rarely work in large groups. They have nothing to tell them apart from the normal citizens, and they prefer it that way.

No one is quite certain how the Freerunners came into existence, though reports suggest it was not long after the Brakas turned from merely merchants. Rumors abound about the group, but the members in it really aren't speaking about it to anyone outside of their own ranks. Who formed it is even a mystery, and no one is certain if the current leader was even connected to the Freerunners before it began to gain strength. They are rather secretive, and trying to learn their secrets can prove dangerous.

It is known that they began their rise to power by leeching off of other groups, swiping away supplies and whatever else they could get their hands upon. They were at first a single united group, but division among ideas started a shift between them, forming them into four loosely allied groups all going by the same name. They consider themselves all part of the same faction, even if ideas aren't shared between them.

    Poisoned Blood

The harshest group by far, and possibly the most dangerous. They are the smallest group to hold power, but have proven themselves ruthless and destructive. Anyone who stands against them is likely to end up dead. The violence and bloodthirst with which they act is legendary, and is sometimes enough to make foes flee itself. But whenever there is a fight, the Poisoned Blood are certain to leave a rather brutal battlefield behind them. They have taken well to the crisis, and have been working with Nui-Jaga to help evacuate the civilians to safety. This has caused great discontent among the members, who wish the city for themselves.

Poisoned Blood was formed based upon the ideas of a former doctor named Virthee, who had seen death and suffering on the battlefield, and struggled to cope with the pain and agony war caused to the innocent. He allied himself with Cadias, who had been injured in a fight and was in no shape to leave. The two worked together, creating the basis for what would over time evolve into Poisoned Blood. They decided that for peace to exist, all of those who fought would have to die, and if they began this path, they too would be upon that list of warriors who would have to perish. Virthee took the name of Moros, and began a plan of death and violence.

Poisoned Blood started slowly, barely noticeable in the slightest to those who loomed over it, but they began to grow. Over time, it absorbed new members who didn't wished to take power. Its leader has grown weaker in his will for violence, and has tried to turn the group around. There have been many rumors of plans to overthrow him.

    Nightguard

This faction was formed by the former Warriors who conquered the city banding together to fight against the increasing crime of the outside world. They are of a smaller number than many of the factions, but are made up of skilled battlers and those who despite their current situation, still have the interests of the people somewhere in their minds. They have been in decline as time has passed, but now must defend their city from other groups. They are often the best trained soldiers of any faction, but old ways die hard and many will still go out of their way to protect innocents from getting harmed in the battles that take place throughout the city. They have an intense hatred of The Brakas.

Nightguard was formed by the great hero of the battle against the Great Beings, Kirse. At first they were formed to keep order and law within the city, but as time went on, and the planet began to decay, it turned towards protecting it's people and it's city. Another group formed quickly enough to challenge the Nightguard, a group called The Brakas. They were the first two power giants, both with very different ideas of how the city should be run. As more groups took after the example of The Brakas, Nightguard's power began to weaken.

Kirse's health took a turn for the worst, and he passed away not too long ago. The Nightguard were left leaderless, and have been severely struggling to stay powerful. Anyone who can prove themselves sufficiently loyal to the cause and ideas of Kirse can take the position, though it is one that brings great risks. They have no real alliances with any group, as Kirse did not wish to form them.

    The Brakas

The Brakas are made up of the merchants, low level criminals, con artists, thieves, and thugs for hire. They're the bottom of the crime totem pole, but also the main transportation of resources. They have reasonably good relations with most of the other factions, except the Nightguard, with whom they have a rather poor connection. They have easily the most members. but are thought to be the least organized of the factions. It is not uncommon for a member of another faction to also be a member of the Brakas, minus the Nightguard.

The Brakas were one of the first groups, formed by a being named Lashon, and from the very beginning they opposed the Nightguard for power. They were formed from the merchants, who transported needed goods. Lashon's group took over an area in Kirse where the machines had once been made, and began rebuilding the machinery into their own. From here, they began creating mechanical animals, known as Rahi. They began selling these Rahi to anyone who could afford to buy them, and earning themselves a nice profit.

The Brakas supported any group that seemed promising, with cheaper resources or even lending members, and helped them grow. Because of this, they have made few enemies, though their crimes are considered a nuisance by most. They haven't grown in power, or lost power for a long while, and are just as powerful as when they challenged the Nightguard. Even then, they were not very strong. Despite this, they are highly influential due to having members in all factions minus Nightguard.
