So I've been thinking about why I didn't really Moc all too much in 2017, and I think I figured out why.

I was building for others, and not for myself. I do not mean this in a literal sense, but that when I went to build I was always trying to build to meet some standard I imposed upon myself based on those around me. I wasn't building what I truly wanted to build, but I was building to try and compare to the other MOCist's around me. If a moc didn't have a custom torso of some kind, it wasn't worth building was the mindset I'd worked myself into.

I think this is why all motivation to build in 2017 kind of went out the window. I wasn't enjoying building.

Now this isn't to say I'm suddenly going to be building only generic HF frame mocs, but if I have a simple concept in my mind, I'm not going to throw it out simply because it's "Simple". I'm going to build what I enjoy.

Also this isn't in anyway blaming anyone else. I solely worked myself into the mindset I did, I felt I had to build like so many of the popular builders, even if it was only a fraction of a fraction of what their builds are like.

So yeah, going forward, I might put out more lesser quality mocs, but at least I'll be enjoying it, and hopefully enjoying Moccing will in turn provide more motivation to build more complex mocs.

Serious question... Which version of bionicle heads did you enjoy/find more useful?

The 2001-2003 heads, the 2004-2008 heads, or the 2009-2016 heads? Mind you, the glatorian, HF, Brain attack and okotan heads are all very similar in my opinion hence why I am clumping them together.

I personally will always prefer the 2004-2008 heads as I felt they were a bit more versatile.

You ever have a moment where you spend a good minute or two in silence, trying to remember where a certain piece is?

I've had those alot lately, the most recent one was me trying to remember where a Trans-Neon Green head was, particularly which moc or model was using it. Sat there for a good 3 minutes in silence, trying to mentally go through my mocs and remember.

So I and this group of guys were fighting the nameless king, as it was my third playthrough, on that character at least, and honor in boss fights had been thrown out the window during the second playthrough. Well just as we finished off the nameless king... well something amazing and magical happened.

I have no clue what caused this glitch, but all of us saw it as I later confirmed, and the one guy with a mic on broke out into laughter. First time I've ever heard another person's voice in dark souls...

Here is a video of the actual event, as Sasriel, the flying player, did eventually come back to earth.

So now that I've basically played through Moon, at least up to right before the Elite Four, taking my sweet time, I wanted to address my biggest complaint about Sun and Moon, and really my only complaint.

    WHY NO LUNATONE AND SOLROCK!!!

Really, given the names of the game, and the significance of space, why exclude the two pokemon that are literally sun and moon pokemon? I mean I was really hoping the two might have some story significance, because sun and moon, but nope nothing. Then I was hoping they would be included in the regional pokedex as version exclusives... nope. It just seems like such a wasted chance. I mean Minior seems like it would be a somewhat decent pre-evolution for the two even, with what they evolve in dependant upon which version you are playing, much like the mascot legendaries.

*Sighs* Just so disappointed about what could have been.

Also I wish a certain returning "Villian" played a bigger role than he does. If you've played through it you know who I am talking about, or should.

So towards the start of November, I had commissioned an artist, by the name of NikkyDash, may know her from her Ruby Nuzlocke Comic she does. Nonetheless been wanting to get a commission of Seymour done for awhile. For those who don't know, Seymour is an Alakazam that was part of my first "Truly" competitive team, when I started taking competitive battling seriously. He was dubbed the "Dragon Killer" as I had him know the move dazzling gleam which was able to usually one shot most dragon types, especially when mega evolved. I eventually retired him in favor of his "Son" Synclaire, whom I bred to have six IVs. But given Seymour's importance to me I wanted to do something with him. Also the trainer is what I would imagine I'd look like as a trainer in Pokemon, though it is a fairly close representation of what I look like in real life, though the beards a bit fuller than I can attain. *Sighs as he wishes he had his "Dream Beard"* So yeah just wanted to share this here.

Also should you be in the market for a commission, Nikkydash is quite affordable, with this only running me $25, though it would have been $15 but she charges $10 for each additional character. So I consider that affordable.

So... Apparently Gali's "Crystal" armor and Terak's "Crystal" armor glow very, very faintly under blacklight, at least the transparent parts. I noticed this while doing one of my blacklight appreciation moments, since I very rarely have my blacklight on, and I noticed that my kopaka moc's crystal armor was glowing, which was actually Gali's armor. I mean it's not glowing incredibly and one could easily believe it is a trick of the light, but when compared to Kopaka's golden unity mask, it definitely was glowing.

Wonder what they did differently with the crystal armor add-ons?

So I am planning on taking a somewhat freelance class that a person is offering in photography, and a scholarship I have is able to cover the costs of the class, which includes having to get a DSLR Camera... The director of the class is only allowing Canon or Nikon Cameras, and wants at least a 55mm lens attachment... Odd limitations but not gonna argue.

Now I've never bought a DSLR camera, nor can I say I ever really have looked at buying them. As such I'm hoping those who might frequent my blog or see this might be able to help me choose which is the better option of the two?

So not much worth noting for Gym 5, as I used two flying pokemon to take care of said gym, however Gym 6... That is a different story
So started with Raze, thinking fire would be good against steel. It was, but her magnemite used thunderbolt, and Raze was left clinging at 1 HP. Immediately brought out Snowdome, and used him for the rest of the entire fight. One-shotted both her Magnemites with Dig, and single-handedly took down her steelix. Funny fact, Snowdome has Sand Veil, and Jasmine kept having her Steelix use Sandstorm. This allowed Snowdome to make it through the entire fight, only getting hit once by Iron Tail, the rest of the time he was spamming Dig, or when he wasn't steelix's attacks were missing, even screech. Snowdome was definitely the MVP here. Tanked it like a boss.

Also caught a flaafy, named it Tex, and grinded it on the way from olivine city to cianwood city, since it was all water pokemon that way. Got it level 30 and evolved in an ampharos.

So I'm not a huge fan of videos that explain indepth lore or fan theories about pokemon, aka I never really watch them, however there is one video I watched recently that really intrigued me, and I would suggest watching should you like this type of stuff. It's really well done and really in depth. Also it's about an hour long, but well worth that hour of time.
Also fairly certain it's safe, I don't remember there being anything that could potentially have it unlinked here...

Screw Morty! Screw him and his stupid Gengar. Everything was going great, Shelob was kicking his other pokemon's behind thanks to the convenient Shadow Sneak she learned just before fighting him, and then his gangar came out and started spamming Hypnosis and Shadowball. Barely managed to get Shelob out of there, as she was clinging to life with 5 hp. Brought in snowdome, first move gangar used hypnosis, switched in raze, sucker punch then hypnosis. Finally brought in Kenya, still hypnosis, but thankfully given her normal type she was immune to the shadowball, and woke up enough to damage it, but then right back to hypnosis. This continued for like 2 minutes, and several healing later we managed to beat morty.
Never been so close to having a pokemon die...

So it begins. I deleted the prior data, and started up the game.

Named my character Vox for obvious reasons, and since the trainer id ended in a 0 I was able to choose the starter of my choice.

I've always been a Cyndaquil man. Still am. This one's stats seem heavily infavor of speed.

Also looking for name suggestions for future pokemon, since I will be nicknaming all pokemon. Heck, if you want a pokemon named after you, I will also use display names if wanted.
    *Imagines hijinks like this occurring*

So since I bought a New 3DS XL, I'm going to restart my Heartgold Nuzlocke, since it's been awhile since I played my prior run. A new system, a new start.
I will make a new blog post after every gym beaten, unless I beat several in one session, which will include a running list of pokemon caught and which route they were caught on. Also every Update post will have Nuzlocke in the tag.

    Here are the rules:

    Core Rules:
Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released.
The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances.
I shall be nicknaming every pokemon I catch.
If I black out/white out it’s considered to be “game over”, even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
I shall not be doing any trading, even with npcs, nor am I allowing trading for pokemon that need to be traded to evolve. However if there are npcs that give pokemon freely, I shall be accepting them. (Can’t remember if heartgold has any, but just incase.)
Also strongly implied is a prohibition against voluntarily resetting and reloading the game when things go wrong. Being able to do so would render all of the other rules pointless.

    Side Rules:
Starter Pokémon is based on the player’s Trainer ID number. If the last number is 1-3 the player starts with a Grass type, 4-6 is Fire type, 7-9 is Water type, 0 is the player’s choice.
Not officially enforcing the rules until the player has Poké Balls and can catch Pokémon. For example, the Poochyena/Zigzagoon that the player has to save Professor Birch from is not counted as the first encounter on the route, and not counting any other encounters as such until they can catch. Likewise, in the games where the rival battle is immediately after getting the starter Pokémon, the “any that faint must be released” rule is not enforced at that time.
As another mercy rule, if the player runs into a Shiny Pokémon, the player may still catch it, regardless of whether or not it is the first encounter in the area. It also does not need to be released if it faints.
I shall allow one revive for the entire game, and it must be a revive in battle, not outside of it. The reason for this is Heartgold is twice as long as most pokemon games, since you have to beat a collective total of 16 gyms, and two elite fours. Two regions worth of hassles.
If the player has no Pokémon that can use a certain field move that is required to continue through any given point of the game, they may catch another Pokémon that can learn said field move. However, it cannot be used in battle for any reason, and must be released, permanently boxed, or migrated as soon as the player gets another Pokémon that can use said field move.

So yeah, wish me luck with this.

Hey, ever wondered what a lifesize minifig would look like if done out of flesh and whatnot? You haven't? Well you will now. Someone cosplayed as a Minifig but took it a step further than just yellow skin and blocky cardboard.

I'm not going to go into detail. Think I saw this originally on SourcefedNerd? I think, and figured it might be worth sharing on here. Link to the full Article

So I don't think I've made an entry like this before... but given an interesting revelation I felt it might be worth it.

There is one massive gripe I have about the contests Bzpower runs. A large portion of the time they never stick to their schedules. This is most prevalent within the Flickr Contests, which has seen voting delayed quite sometime in the past. The most current example is BBC #73, there was suppose to be three sections of voting:
Preliminary Voting begins June 23rd and ends June 26th at 11:59 P.M. EST.
Semifinal Voting begins June 26th and ends June 28th at 11:59 P.M. EST.
Final Voting begins August 6th and ends August 7th at 11:59 P.M. EST.

Only two of these occurred, with semifinal voting being completely removed, despite there being plenty of time... Plenty. On top of this there has been no explanation for why which is another common occurrence, as far as I am aware at least, maybe it was hidden in a blog somewhere. All I know is that it wasn't exactly made publicly aware, to my knowledge.

I mean I know this contest is pretty much over, except for the final voting because someone on flickr recently posted about sending in a moc they entered for final voting, a moc with the most votes in his voting topic. So if the contestants that made it to the top three have been made aware, why hasn't everyone else, including the other people who entered? Mind you I didn't enter so it's like I'm saying this because I have a horse in the running, not the case. This is just something that has bothered me for quite sometime... The lack of schedule keeping, with typically no reason provided for why, especially with the Flickr Contests.

I'm not meaning for this to be a target or attack against anyone, it's just something I've observed and has bothered me for at least a year now.

So I've been putting off upgrading to windows 10 since it's initial release, however now that it is almost a year later, and the 'Free Upgrade' deadline is approaching, I was wondering if anyone who does use windows 10 could perhaps provide some insight.

Firstly, is it actually stable yet? I know one of the big problems when it first came out was that alot of people were getting crashed, Blue screens of Death and some computers being rendered unusable.... Is this still occurring on a regular basis or have they finally fixed the problem?

Secondly, how are you liking it? I mean is it worth the upgrade or is it just kind of meh?

Thirdly, is there any actual features that just make it stand out from like windows 8? Basically I don't do alot of tech heavy stuff, and I just am curious if it's worth it for me to upgrade from windows 8.1? I mean if there's a bunch of features that I'll never used, I don't see the reason for me to upgrade, especially since as I understand it, it doesn't support Windows Media Player, which sadly is the one media player I have on my computer and use for my playlists and whatnot...

So yeah, anyone who can answer these questions would be appreciated... I just don't want to do something I'll regret.
  17. Voxumo
So I'm considering buying a game for my 3DS, something I haven't done since ORAS came out... My 3DS is like the ugly stepchild of my systems. I've narrowed my choice down to the following games.
    Super Smash Bros
    Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon
    Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Or Wait for Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright to come out...

Also before anyone mentions it, I know smash for the WIIU is better than the 3DS version, but I do not own a WiiU nor Do I intend on buying one.

Also if anyone else has suggestions for games, I'm all ears. Just want to make an informed decision.
  18. Voxumo
So awhile ago I remember reading some comment on the BBC section of the forums, particularly revolving around a certain contest, can't remember which one, and it was mentioned that there was a certain piece that was allowed to be cut without it causing the model to be disqualified, since most BBC Contests require the use of non-modified parts. If I remember correctly it was stated to be a hose piece, like the one used in the Bahrag.

However I'm not certain of this, since my memory on it is fuzzy, so if someone happens to see this and could confirm, deny or correct my information, that would be most appreciated since I recently came into a surplus of those pieces. Also if anybody knows if there are any other pieces that are acceptable being cut for BBCCs, that would info would be appreciated as well.

I have to admit, I love and hate Pokemon Distribution Events, such as the Hoopa one right now. It’s great for people who live in cities where there is a McDonalds on every street corner, or a Gamestop a block away… but it sucks for people who live in rural locations. I had to drive a 100 miles one way, today, in snow, at -10*F, just to get to a McDonalds. Mind you I thankfully had to go Bulk grocery shopping anyway, since in winter here I can’t afford to go up to Fairbanks once a month for bulk grocery shopping. 200 miles round trip in snow is not worth a monthly trip, especially with schmucks on the road. And no pokemon is worth a 200 mile drive, in summer or winter.

Also yes, this is kind of just a venting post.

So as the title says, I am looking for advice on the Fate/Stay series. Right now on Hulu they have two different versions of the anime (More technically if including Zero) and I'm not sure which one I should attempt to start. Theres Fate/Stay Night and then Fate/Stay Night [unlimited Blade Works]. I know next to nothing about the anime, except that it's one that has been on my 'to-watch' list for awhile. As such I'm hoping someone may be able to give advice on which one is better worth sitting down and watching. Now I know someone is going to say 'why not just watch both' and to that I have a very simple answer. I already have a back-log of anime that I want to watch, and I simply want to try and choose one to put priority on, and I may infact come back to the other sometime later.

So yeah... if anyone has advice on which one would be better to watch first, considering UBW is nearly twice as long as the other, it would be very much appreciated.

Also yes, crummy editing job is crummy. Did not want to waste more time making pretty editing job.

So jokes aside, a couple days ago I managed to breed a 6 IV Abra, after several months of trying. For those who don't know, since I don't exactly broadcast this, but I've been trying to get into competitive pokemon battle for sometime, mostly failing. I used to just use pokemon that I liked or caught in-game for it, but recently took a more serious note. Plus I felt it was probably the next logical step since I had completed my dex on both Y and Alpha Sapphire.

I've had help from a wonderful friend I met through Tumblr, who breeds pokemon professionally and runs an advice blog for pokemon breeding, because frankly alot of the finer mechanics of pokemon went over my head. Heck I didn't even know IVs were a thing until late 2013. So yeah she has been a great help.

So here's the little guy whom I'm so proud of, since it's the first pokemon I've successfully bred

I decided on the name Synclaire for him, since before him I was using an Alakazam that I raised in Y, just for the main story, named Seymour.

Also interesting facts, the two missing IVs I ran into most were HP and Attack, with Speed being the one I ran into the least, and this is based on 2 full boxes of just 5 iv abras, not including the many 4 or less iv ones.

Alright, so I don't ever do this type of thing, but I really wanted to give this the recognition it deserves. Mr.Cod, Owner/business partner? Not sure really, of Modalt Masks did a magma themed mask of fire awhile ago. It was beautiful piece. Well today he managed to top it with the Master of Magma!

I mean it's just beautiful... The attention to detail is amazing. You will notice the magma streaks on the leg armor actually line up despite the gaps in armor, which I find to be an amazing touch. Heres a link to the actual DA page where he posted it.

I had an old family friend come over about two days ago, they brought with them friend's kid who apparently is into lego. Mind you the old family friend is technically the doctor who has dealt with me for the majority of my life, assisted with all the medical i have had and what not, so he knows my ever growing collection of mocs and bionicles. But back to the story. Family friend comes over, unannounced, and brings the kid with him. Naturally I am not prepared for company meaning I don't have socks on. After initial introductions are made the friend asks if the kid could see my collection, which I happily oblige. It's only after the friend asks which of the sets are my favorite, my response being cahdok and gahdok and including what year they were released... The kid speaks up and states 'Oh, that was the same year I was born.'

Two things crossed my mind that instant. First one being I felt rather older than I should, and had to hold myself back from saying I had bionicles older than the kid, because so rare do I meet another human being in person who I can say that about, let alone that i'm actually older than them, since majority of my 'acquaintances' are older than me. The second thing that crossed my mind was that I suddenly felt short. I'm only like 5'8", and this kid was already a tch taller than me. Add in the age that kid is and the fact he likely hasn't reached a growth spurt yet... it's a bit daunting.

But alas I held back any urges and the kid even took a picture infront of my collection... Made his day at least and the family friend was appreciative.

Alright I don't normally ask for help, but I'm finding myself in a bit where I can find the answer to something but it's incredibly confusing answers.

As I mentioned awhile ago, I bought a new camera... well Newish. I understand most of the functions of it, but some I still don't understand when the right time would be to use them. I've tried looking up the answers, but most I find are overly technical in their explaining and I end up being unable to really comprehend.

So hopefully there are some folks who know their camera info and who can help answer this in a layman's manner. Firstly what is ISO, and should I just keep it on auto? Secondly when is the right time/situation to use AF Lock, AE Lock, and FE Lock?

Just for reference I'm using a Canon Powershot SD1000, from like 2006/2007... Not sure if that helps but figured I'd state that. Also it is my first digital camera so part of the reason why I'm wanting to make sure I really understand and can make use of the settings.
