Notice re: Memoirs: Sorry for the delay between closing time and announcement. Math has to be done to be sure the results are handled properly (since the total number of winners wasn't set in stone), and I'm busy right now with real life stuff. I'll get to it soon though.

Retelling update: Not much progress, but a little; I wrote some further non-canon events after the fall of Atero. Probably about halfway to the Ignika's arrival.

Re-telling update: Atero has fallen. The chapter I just finished ended up with 24 pages, so yeah, the 20-page maximum rule is definitely history in Part Nine!

So, I have a big reply to your latest topic, but BZP apparently has a glitch now that prevents posts... and PMs (I tried that too). Profile comments seem to be working, so letting you know here. The simple answer (to that also-common question ) is the Turaga were afraid some Matoran would try to return, and get killed or infected by Makuta. And there could be any number of tunnel ways down. Hope this gets through... >_>

Well, looks like I hit the bandwidth limit for a free photobucket account (which I used for the retelling art, after Brickshelf glitched). My options there are to pay $3 a month to remove limits, or wait until the 17th and when monthly bandwidth will reset to zero. I had planned to use brickshelf, but the folder for the images glitched. I'll look into what to do. For now, the images for the chapter on Wed. will be on brickshelf.

Update: Once again, no more of the retelling's end has been written as I've been working on the contest, and some RL stuff that came up unexpectedly. But some refining of the plans for the end has happened, and I'm keeping up with posting the early chapters... barely lol. In Memoirs, just dealt with a difficult entry that looks like its author is inactive and won't edit needed things. Hoooopefully the other entries will go faster.

Update: Sorry for neglecting updates... although not much of Part Nine has been written for a while, as I'm working on the Memoirs contest mainly. I did get most of chapter 83 written though since last update.

Retelling update: Mostly I've been rechecking Part One stuff, and doing some last-minute art for those chapters. Half of Chapter 82 is written too, but I realized a better way to do something in 81 by moving it to later in 82, so I'm now going through 81 again to edit.

Retelling progress -- Chapter 81 written, with several non-canon events important to my plot. It did end up, as I suspected Part Nine chapters might, going one page longer than the earlier working-maximum of 20 pages. Not sure whether to expect that trend to continue through the rest; we'll see!

Retelling progress: Haven't gotten much farther than the previous note in the actual writing; the Nuva are inside the Codrex. But I've been doing some of the art that I've been putting off. Specifically: a protodite (as I imagine under the microscope, based on Protodax), a stylized adaptive Hau, another image of Tuyet's mask based on one used with permission by another artist, Miserix's Kanohi, Mask of Creation, and Mutran's pet rock (pre-Mountain)

Retelling progress report: Takanuva is explaining to the Toa Nuva about the energy storms; they are about to head for the Codrex.

Retelling progress: Matoro has sacrificed his life to save Mata Nui. Since this came up in a topic, I didn't have space to include the reanimation of Alternate Tuyet's corpse. Not sure if that or several side threads like it will end up playing a role or not, but if so it'll have to be mentioned as a brief flashback later. Now 77 of 90 chapters written.

New Year's Eve retelling update: I'd hoped to have the whole (first draft) written by tomorrow; that's clearly not happening, but I'm getting very close! Only 15 of 90 chapters left to write. Ignika is in Dekar's hands. Now almost certain I won't need to add any extra chapters.

Retelling update: Toa Inika have begun first battle with all six Piraka and Brutaka; Hakann and Thok are about to steal Brutaka's powers.

Data loss fix updates: I saved things like the Greg Compendium and all posts and reviews in all my fanfics (there aren't many of them that were on this forum, though; I had yet to repost any from the old forum). I'll try to get all that stuff up in some form or another soon, but it'll have to be next week at the earliest. Retelling: 70 of the planned 90 chapters done! Voya Nui plot started.

Retelling progress: Finished a long chapter of almost totally non-canon events between Takua's summoning of the Toa and the canisters actually arriving. Also going back to earlier chapters' comments to add links to story source YouTube videos!

Retelling draft progress: Takua has summoned the Toa and crashed into the beach. If you ever wondered how the heck he could survive that, story has an explanation. (Dunno if it counts as a theory... I don't know that any actual evidenced theory could make that work lol.)

Update: Retelling is now looking like it will end up as 90 chapters rather than 80 if things go how they have been. I'm on track with the plan so far (Takua is going around rescuing Turaga prior to MNOG now; midway through chapter 60), but I strongly suspect the later plans were too squished-together. We'll see.

Retelling progress: Takua has been banished.

Progress on Bionicle history retelling: mostly done with the 59th chapter; everything up until the sinking of Mahri Nui is done (about to write that). Well, need to add a few words about the founding of Koli, but not really sure where that properly goes chronologically; I'm putting it before Mahri Nui but who knows.

Progress on retelling of entire Bionicle history: Ahkmou has arrived on Mata Nui and he's already been bad. (How so is spoilers. )
