  1. Then does this mean this topic should be closed? Since it now turns out that we're not allowed to discuss this subject after all, then what's the point of keeping this particular topic open? From my interpretation of the request LEGO sent out via email, and from what Andrew has said in this forum, it's fine to discuss it as long as we don't spread the list of set numbers+names around.
  2. topkek powerizer

  3. CCBS all the way. The consistency among parts over the years is a lot more favorable in my opinion, whereas using Bionicle parts from a couple years apart, there is little consistency in the design and shape of the parts.
  4. I don't know what to say... Are those actually legos? or what? yes
  5. That video was interesting.
  6. Everything I did prior to 2014 was probably noobish. Especially on the old forums. Glad those archives are gone. :')
  7. Happy birthday, Andrew! I need to remember that your birthday is close to BrickFair Virginia next time. I'll buy you a birthday dinner or drinks. Hope you have fun today
  8. I didn't spend a lot of time around the Bionicle table but the times that I stopped by it looked like you were having fun which is great. The short times I did get to stop and talk to you and others were nice and I'm glad I got to see you. Hopefully in future events I'll spend more time with BZPower members and see you again!

    Brickfair and Beyond

It was great meeting you! I didn't spend enough time at the convention center to have hung out with BZP people more than I did, but maybe in future years I'll see you again!

    Good to finally meet you!
  11. Was good talking to you and being around you and some BZP people especially at the Organizer's Dinner. I've been to every BrickFair Virginia event except 2010, and this year was a lot different for me. I didn't spend much time around the convention center with people this year, but the people I did spend time with definitely were better interactions than past years. Looking forward to future years of BrickFair, and to be able to continue to interact with the BZP people I've known for a long time, and hopefully continue to meet new members/fans in years to come.
  12. Last blog I left off at the start of the public days of BrickFair. Nothing particularly special happened on either day. I did, however, get a delicious fish. Recapping on the weekend, I told myself not to spend any money at BrickFair this year because I have other priorities to spend my money on. I successfully did not spend any money on LEGO. However, taking into account the wings, taco bell trips, gas, and fish dinners, I spent over $100. Woops. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At the LEGO Group Q&A at BrickFair, Kevin made me take pictures since I'm a "professional" photographer. Unfortunately these were people that I was photographing and not cars, so they're not exactly all spectacular photos. There are some great photos in there, but then there are also the goodies (including this good one I took) that we can turn into more Kevin memes. Keep an eye out on the LAN Blog and Kevin's Flickr for some of those photos. I spent most of BrickFair with my bros at Beyond The Brick so keep an eye on their YouTube channel, as I made a cameo appearance in several of their videos (including the Christmas of Creation building activity brought to you in part by Brickipedia). I also just found this dank photo of me at the Organizer's Dinner that Kevin got. In other news, a friend told me to read The Fault In Our Stars (I'm only a few years late to that right?) so I did. I have revoked her privilege to suggest books to me for the time being, as I do not wish to be hit in the feels like that. *abrupt end to blog*
  13. Already mentioned, but definitely Scala. WHY. Update: This nightmare was brought to my attention.
  14. Keep the water under 90°C (~190°F) or else you'll risk warping the plastic more severely than you intend, including possibly expanding it. If you notice the water boiling, it's too hot.
  15. Guess I'll make a blog for once about my BrickFair adventures Day 1: Didn't really do anything at the con besides check in and help set up sound system Did not bring any MOCs. Bailed on the con to go take car pics (what else is new) and get free buffalo wings courtesy of my northern virginia friends Day 2: Did a seminar that I did not plan for ahead of time. Winged the whole thing and according to some audience members I nailed it. Starbucks "chill sesh" with Beyond the Brick and Kevin Hinkle Organizers Dinner with BZPower ppl and LEGO ppl #darnitdanny Finally met Marcos Bessa in person Made Kevin Hinkle memes as per his request Got the biggest sundae I've ever seen as dessert. To quote Marcos, "that's not a sundae, that's a whole week". Day 3: Hung with Beyond the Brick fam Received sad news that one of my friends was killed in a motorcycle accident This. Hosted a "Christmas of Creation" activity with Beyond the Brick to give away ~100 LEGO sets in a community engaging activity. Christmas in July! Day 4: Have not done anything notable today And that's all for now ✌️
  16. If anyone wants to, I'll be around the convention center for part of the time up here, so if you see me feel free to say hi. My badge to identify me by: http://i.imgur.com/nVcw8fX.jpg
  17. At this point, we can't run it on the same server without adversely impacting the performance of either. It sucks and we need a better server obviously, but that's unfortunately the one domain I have very little control over. I really really want it back too; there wasn't enough time to finalize a lot of the stuff I was working on, and plenty of images that are just languishing. The ultimate answer is to bug Swert; updating the server or switching or whatever is a decision that'll be made by him. Thanks for the reply. I know they couldn't both run on the current server, it was more a question of whether any progress was being made with regards to changing servers, as it was mentioned and then it's just been quiet since November last year. Guess it's just "wait and see". In the meantime, I might just have to look to my good old friend the search engine instead, to see if I can find what I'm looking for elsewhere. I was hoping to find some good quality video stills from HF videos I've given all the information I can and found options for other server hosts. At this point it's just a matter of Swert actually doing it, which unfortunately I have been trying to get him to do since before HS01 was taken offline. It would be perfectly easy to cut resource usage by BS01 and HS01 in half and to increase server performance and possibly reduce financial expenses as well. All it requires is for Swert to abandon the host he has yet to abandon and to choose a more capable and more current-day server option.
  18. Our panel made it to YouTube. It's unedited so there might be some... weird... stuff.
  19. Of course not. Nobody jokes around on the internet. Especially not on 1 April.
  20. Post the video of our panel on YouTube. <3 Unless it's NSFBZP.
  21. You should be able to create an account through this link.
  22. Ewww. I think part of the problem here is that there was a jump from "update/freshen" the main page to "reskin the wiki and new visuals all over the place." Leaves us with something that, while it looks cool, doesn't mesh as well overall as the original design. Besides, there's apparently CSS problems with using refreshed (blegh) that are supposedly beyond the powers of either Meiko or Dorek to directly fix. I could fix it however I don't have time to debug what the problem is. Something the wiki really does need to do to open up for more options is upgrade the server. The server currently can't run a MediaWiki version higher than 1.22, as there isn't access to upgrade the server's PHP version. The server also doesn't have enough resources to run HS01 alongside BS01. Upgrading the server will open up more options as far as MediaWiki versions and available skins go.
