  1. So, a conversation with some colleagues today gave me an interesting idea for a "famous last words" statement... "Nah, those Mayans never got anything right." Just to be safe, I bid you all a happy afterlife.
  2. Drat, looks like I'm going have to sit this one out due to life taking precedence and procrastination, mostly the latter. I sure look forward to reading and voting though. Best of luck to everyone!~Necricorn
  3. An extension would be useful, maybe a week or two?I allowed myself to procrastinate, then started thinking that I wouldn't be able to cough up anything readable in a few days. An extension would certainly help, maybe not with the readability, but at least the story would actually exist in some form of mangled, twisted mess. ~Necricorn
  4. That is the hardest I've laughed all day long. Well said, well said indeed.
  5. Will do, I'll get what I have together and PM a snapshot.
  6. So, I was buying some new music today in anticipation of an upcoming road trip. I bought a Strings Tribute album (yes, I'm that geeky, and yes, they're quite epic), and found something rather oxymoronic in my recommended products list... o.0 I somehow have my doubts...
  7. Okay, I'm thinking that I'd be able to go through my collection tomorrow and at least find the unique parts for the Iron Predator (minifigs, parts with stickers, treads, etc.) if you'd be interested. (Tomorrow is my last day before I move out, so I'll need to seal any deals then.)Incidentally, I don't have any Dinos from Johnny Thunder, just Dino Attack. I've got a Johnny Thunder elephant though. If you'd still be interested in the animals, I'd be willing to sell all of them, the plants, baseplates, and whatever brown bricks I can find for $20, shipping included.I'll keep you up to date on what I find from the Iron Predator.
  8. I know I've got some palm tree leaves, cacti, flowers, and seaweed in regard to the botanical realm. I have some a few dinosaurs from Dino Attack, a Johnny Thunder-era elephant, some horses, a cat, snakes, alligators, scorpions, and probably a few more that I'm forgetting. Brown bricks will be harder to find when I'm digging through the lot, and I don't have as many as other colors, but I've got a few. Are we talking just the basic bricks, or could you use some barrels, fort walls, etc.?By the way, I was looking through your trade topic. I've got a handful of baseplates, and I would be able to get you at least the unique parts for the Iron Predator. If I could find the instructions online to cross-reference, I should be able to get you all the pieces, if you're interested.
  9. When I came to the first page of the blog listing and saw that over half of the entries concern Asylum of the Daleks, my reaction was quite simple. "Thank goodness, I'm among Whovians again!"
  10. Yup! I'm working a deal to sell the Jungle Slizer, but besides that, everything is still available.
  11. I just came back last week following a hiatus that lasted over two years. The two years were spent learning to do my job, now that I'll actually be working, maybe I can focus on some of the finer things in life.
  12. Hey Bones (or any judges), I've got a couple of quick questions.I'm thinking about writing about Krika. Would it be alright if I was to open my story with a large, army vs. army battle in his area of the Northern Continent? I realize that I'd be throwing in a bunch of non-canon characters, but they'd essentially be unnamed cannon fodder. The point of writing about the battle is to show a great psychological effect which it has on Krika, it isn't meant to be a "Makuta Krika beats up everyone and it's awesome" scene.I was thinking that the other combatants would be a mix of species; in-story I can lampshade it as mercenary groups hired by both sides, but it should also help prevent anyone from thinking: "If two armies of Race X are fighting, then Race X must canonically live in Krika's domain."I'll leave the area unnamed, of course. The lack of specificity would actually play a large part in the effect the battle has on Krika.Secondly, I'll probably spend most of the story around the time of Teridax's takeover of the Brotherhood and the Great Cataclysm, but would it be permissible for me to "fast-forward" to Karda Nui for the last few paragraphs of the story? The scene would start after Gorast disrupted Krika's density control and left him behind.Biosector01 says that he "eventually faded from existence", so I was thinking that I'd use that indefinite amount of time for a bit of a catharsis (as cathartic as helplessly fading to nothingness can be ). I'd have the story end as he dies (or at least loses the ability to narrate in the first person), probably a little while before the Karda Nui energy storm, just to avoid any conflict with the "character must have died before Mata Nui awakened" rule.Oh, and one more. Would a one-on-one battle between two named Makuta be possible as long as it supports future storyline events and neither one dies?Well, those weren't really quick questions. Thanks in advance!
