  1. IC: Yaushe and Mega - Yaushe

Navu would see Mega soothingly patting the dashboard of the van, which was curiously devoid of any disfigured Toa.

There was a soft chuffing-wheezing, almost like hitched breath, after Zsann spoke. Mega turned to Navu. "If you wanna hop on out, ain't nobody gonna judge. I think... we're gonna go with our first plan. Helpin' to defend the city."

  2. IC: Yaushe and Mega - Yaushe

Yaushe stopped, a little more suddenly than she meant to. Mega nearly knocked her head on the wheel. "Oof! What's that for?"

    "I... I can't leave, Mega."

"Sure y' can," Mega said softly, patting the dashboard. "I'll let you in my gun, like the last time. You're gonna be fine."

    "I can't!"

"You can't stay out here. I'm sorry, Yaushe, but..."

She paused. The van was trembling, not much, but she could feel it through the dashboard. Yaushe said, voice coming in a harsh, panicked whisper through the air conditioner, "It's all I have left. Don't make me leave my body out here. Please."

  3. IC: Yaushe and Mega - Yaushe

Mega had moved to the driver's seat to have a look at Yaushe's radio. Yaushe, having momentarily forgotten that Navu was under the impression that she herself was in the driver's seat, didn't think anything of it.

Once everyone was inside, Yaushe closed the doors and sped off in the direction Navu had indicated. Mega sat back from the radio and clicked the seatbelt on, saying to Navu, "Don't you fret. Yaushe'll have us there quick as a flash."

  4. IC: Yaushe - Yaushe

Yaushe pulled up to the house. To Zsann, she said, "Uh... I think so? Let me... Yeah. Here."

A compartment popped open, revealing some bits and bobs- chief among them was a simple travel shovel, marked with slight use. To Navu, she said, "You can wait in here with me, if you want. I... I know this sort of thing's hard to see."

  5. IC: Yaushe - Yaushe

"She met him a few days ago, by the sounds of it. He brought a friend, who did some kind of messed up ritual. I dunno. Body sounds easier to deal with."

Yaushe opened the back door. As Triage climbed in, Mega, who had wandered over to see what the fuss was about and caught the tail end of the conversation, headed to the passenger seat. Yaushe opened the door- briefly showing the empty driver's seat to anyone who happened to be looking that way- and closed it quickly after Mega climbed in.

"Sure, Navu. We're gonna get this sorted." Yaushe started up, took a second to adjust her mirror, and headed down the road.

  6. IC: Yaushe - Yaushe

"Someone's gotten murdered, by the sounds of it." Yaushe's voice was a low thrum, a rumble from the back of the van. "Navu- she's resting in here- says it happened at her house. Thinks the murderer's long gone, but the corpse is still there, frozen. And I..."

It was hard to tell, but her voice sounded... defeated, somehow. "I can't bury a body."

  7. IC: Yaushe - Yaushe

"I'm sure there's somebody who can help," Yaushe said. "Leaving someone out like that... it's not right."

Yaushe paused, and heard something outside.

"And is a Ghost to boot! ... along with apparently being my teacher while... while I was a Ghost as well..."

Yaushe's motor near stuttered. More ghosts? She thought she was alone, an outlier... but the person who'd spoken was clearly alive. Still, what else could they mean...?

She was startled out of her train of thought by Triage, and spoke to him with her 'outside voice'. "Uh. Hey. You know anyone who can thaw a dead body?"

  8. IC: Yaushe - Yaushe

Now that Navu was inside, Yaushe switched to using her softer "voice", her words blowing soft and airy out of the air conditioner. Cleverly, she covered this up with, "Uh, I'll switch to my... inside... voice."

    Foolproof.

"That sounds really serious. How long ago was this? I can... well, I can't, uh, leave the van, but I can ask someone to go get the murderer out of your house... were these separate things that happened, or...?"

  9. IC: Yaushe - uh

Navu took Yaushe by surprise; on the one hand, once Navu was inside she would see there was no one physically present in the van, but on the other, it felt wrong to say no. After a split second, doing right won out, and the door Navu was knocking on audibly unlocked. "Uh. Sure. But... don't look in the driver's seat. I'm... shy. Shy and... disfigured. Reaaally disfigured."

It was technically true. Couldn't get much more disfigured than not having a body at all.

  10. IC: Yaushe -  Oh! Van

Yaushe watched Mega and Zsann go, and then noticed the odd shape of Whisper with them. She couldn't believe she'd missed them over there the first time. She remembered them from when she was back with her other friends, on that transporter. They'd been selling something weird. She considered trying to get their attention, but it wasn't like she had an arm to wave at them. Maybe she'd try calling out if they got close enough.

  11. IC: Yaushe - Van Talk

Yaushe didn't like to worry about what would happen if her vessel was destroyed. Would her spirit be free again, unable to communicate or interact with the outside world but lacking a body to return to? Would she fizzle out? She tried not to think about the many bad outcomes such a question had. But, like in Po-Koro... she was a Toa. Even if she could honk now. Though she supposed she could honk before, just a lot less efficiently.

She was really not wanting to think about the destroyed vessel thing, apparently.

But, she had a duty. And she'd never forgive herself if people died because of her. She'd been through it once, and that was enough to tell her the experience wasn't fun.

"I'm staying, then. Toa's gotta do what a Toa's gotta do." She hoped the terrible not-even-a-joke and the fact that she was talking through the thrums of a machine hid her apprehension. "If you two wanna sit this one out, though, no shame in that. I mean, it's not like hero work is species-limited, but you two don't have a whole Code to follow in your job description."

  12. IC: Yaushe - Outside Sans Undertale's House

Seeing as the person she had asked was still considering their answer, Yaushe turned her attention to the knocking on her door... And realised there wasn't really a way for her to pretend to still be paying attention to the guy she'd been talking with.

So, she issued a polite enough "'scuse me", rolled the window up, and cracked the window on the other side for Mega and Zsann. Mostly for appearances, since obviously the other two knew she wasn't in there, per se. At least not physically.

"Hey. You guys get anywhere? What's happening?" Her mirror turned a little. "I see your boyfriend's turned up, Mega. Didn't think Toa of The Green could become tomatoes."

    @Dane-gerous@A-tak-nid

  13. OOC: To be clear, Yaushe has been sitting here for a while (she didn't just roll up), but that doesn't really change anything because she did very much begin honking

IC: Yaushe - Outside Sans' Hut

At the calm words of Jephro, the din suddenly stopped. Yaushe, if she could have, would have blinked. That wasn't the response she was expecting.

Then Keitara apologised to her (maybe she thought she was mad no one had come outside to chat to the van???) and moved on to, thankfully, chat with Mega. In the van, a depression formed in the driver's seat briefly, like someone sitting back in stunned silence.

At the very least, they'd calmed her down.

She cracked open the window a tiny amount to keep the illusion of speaking to Jephro from the interior (or, well, a more conventional definition of the interior), not enough for anyone to see in but enough to "talk" through, and said, "What?"

    @Smudge8

OOC: Yaushe doesn't know their names, this is more so I don't have to be vague about who these van-friendly people are
