  1. This is the greatest post here, extremely well-said. Definitely agreed. Just PM Black Six (with information about what the proto was for, etc.) and he can take care of it. =]
  2. Great to see that the forums are back! Thanks, Black Six.
  3. Congrats Nate!! Welcome to the team. ^^

    Backness

Lol yeah I lost like . . . one blog entry, maybe 5 posts. XD I should probably be more active. . . .
  5. Voted for #2, because three polls later it's still an amazing story.
  6. (Donna was another companion I also didn't include) But the reason I didn't include Clara was because I just don't think we've seen enough of her yet. I really like her so far, but wouldn't quite consider her a top 10 yet. Yeah, Fantine has always been one of my favorite characters--Anne Hathaway just blew me away with her performance of I Dreamed a Dream. (I also might agree on liking Ginny or Luna more [i really need to re-read the books...], but I mean, Emma Watson, so... =P) She was definitely great as Maria Hill--I just had to include her as an honorable mention. Even so, though, I don't think we've seen enough of Hill for that character alone to be one of my favorites. Yeah, the more that I think about it (or watch episodes of the show), the less I like Lana. I think maybe what I liked so much is the "idea" of her--like people on that show mention all the time, how Clark and Lana are the "perfect couple", etc. (obviously not really, but it's the idea that's in everyone's head). Overall I most definitely like Chloe/Lois a lot more. Glad you approve. ^^ Gonna guess that one of them is Jimmy Stewart. There were several reasons for that, really. I think one of the main things would be because the phone scene is such an iconic scene for Neeson's voice (and would be far less cool if it were a different voice). Another big reason would be because of his sacrifice for his daughter--he's out of the game and wants to just live life, but when his daughter's taken...all that changes. He no longer cares about himself, but only about her, and getting her back. Plus I love spy movies. =P (and have yet to see Schindler's List, so couldn't include his character from there). As for Qui-Gon Jinn, he's definitely a great mentor role there, and Neeson was fantastic in that movie, but I think I enjoyed his character in Batman Begins more. Haha, yeah. I -did- love Matt Smith (and Christopher Eccleston), too. And I mean, a lot. But Tennant is definitely my favorite, so he's the only one I mentioned.
  7. Sorry for taking so long for this. Assigned to Dual Matrix. Assigned to Tyler Durden. Thank you both for choosing the SSCC!
  8. I think the worst part about it was that she only showed up in like 2 episodes, and before that she was just a voice on the phone for a long time. They built her up so much, and then... ;_; (it was definitely predictable, though, like you said. But that didn't keep me from going "please don't please don't" the whole episode =P) It's true that it gave him some good character development, but still. I don't see why they couldn't've kept her around for another season or something first. =P
  9. Well, right, oops. XD I'm pretty sure I actually cried when that happened. I guess I should've said I loved the character, not necessarily the side story. =P
  10. Top ten celebrity character crushes (which has basically just become "favorite characters" because I'm not sure I'd say I have crushes for all of them)--both for male and female. Female: Fantine (Anne Hathaway)--Les Misérables Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic)--Castle Parker (Beth Riesgraf)--Leverage (honorable mention to her brief appearance in Criminal Minds as Dr. Maeve Donovan as that side story was adorable [edit: er, not the end of it, but the character in general], as well as Maxine from NCIS, because her character was adorable there, too) Young Cosette (Isabelle Allen)--Les Misérables (the exception to this list, as she's obviously not a crush. But her character is still adorable and deserves to be listed) Hermione Granger (Emma Watson [<3])--Harry Potter Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders)--How I Met Your Mother (honorable mention to Maria Hill, from The Avengers) Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)--Game of Thrones Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightly)--Pirates of the Caribbean Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman), and Amy Pond (Karen Gillan)--Doctor Who (I can't really decide which is my favorite, and I love them all, so). Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack), Lois Lane (Erica Durance), and Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk)--Smallville (I seem to go through phases with them, and depending on the episode/season, I'll like one more than the other. I'm also almost positive that my mind is just blanking on more female crushes, and so these probably wouldn't be on the list at all if I could remember who I'm forgetting) EDIT: Buttercup (Robin Wright)--The Princess Bride (cannot believe I forgot her D: ) Male (doing top 15 because there's no way I could choose just 10 D: ): Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion)--Castle (honorable mention to Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly, and basically any other character Fillion has played) Hoot (Eric Bana)--Black Hawk Down The Doctor (David Tennant)--Doctor Who Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale)--The Dark Knight Trilogy William Forrester (Sean Connery)--Finding Forrester (honorable mention to Marko Ramius from The Hunt for Red October) Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman)--Les Misérables (honorable mention to Wolverine) Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg)--The Avengers, Agents of SHIELD, etc. Detective David Mills (Brad Pitt)--Se7en (honorable mention to Tyler Durden from Fight Club) John Reese (Jim Caviezel)--Person of Interest (also just Caviezel in anything) Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg)--Shooter (honorable mention to Dignam from The Departed) John Watson/Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman)--Sherlock/The Hobbit George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart)--It's a Wonderful Life Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson)--Taken (also anything Liam Neeson is in, because of his voice; honorable mention specifically to Ra's al Ghul) Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris)--How I Met Your Mother Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln)--The Walking Dead And many more, I'm sure (I'm also positive my mind is blanking on some obvious ones, but oh well). ~ Velox

    Need a Recommendation

I watched a couple episodes of Elementary, and personally, I wasn't all that impressed. =/ Especially when compared to Sherlock. I feel like if it was just a normal crime show it would be better, but since it's supposed to be Sherlock Holmes, that coupled with the amazingness of Sherlock made me like it less? Just my opinion, though--you may very well like it more than I did. CBS.com has a couple full episodes that you can watch, but I don't know if you want to watch one out of order or not.

    Time for a Break

rainymood.com is the greatest thing ever.
  14. I'm pretty sure that the first non-canon character I played as or wrote about was Velox, a Toa of Electricity. I used him in the BZPRPG back in '09, and wrote some (albeit horrible) short stories about him ~'07. I think the first actual Bionicle character I wrote about was Vezok in an old comedy of mine, shortly after I joined.
  15. Really, really hard choice between #1 and #6. They're both absolutely fantastic pieces. Ended up going with #1 in the end, but man was #6 amazing, too. I just hope one of them wins.
  16. It was between #6 and #9, but in the end I had to go with #6. Really liked the city setting there.
  17. Hahaha yeah first I wrote it and then was like "oh dang I can't say that" and deleted it, but then I remembered that actually I can. It feels so weird...
