  1. GADUNKA by far. I remember loving building the set and making stop motion upon stop motion of him devouring matoran. Trust me, it got very creative after seven different shorts. ok now I cant think of anything else but going back and remaking him from my bucket of pieces
  2. IC: Monton Monton strode back into the cavern that the Avashkan (a combination of the matoran words "avsa" and "kraahkan" to mean "shadow seekers") cult called home. At a glance it would seem modest: No electricity, no pumps or other visible mechanics/modern luxuries. The Avashkans lived by coexisting with the earth, utilizing luminous plants and minerals for their light. Their water source was a small trickle from an underground spring. Also, being located so close to The Dark Walk acted as a defense, shielding the Avashkans in isolation and warding off malicious visitors… He stooped into the Great Hall, by far the largest section of the cavern which hard been carved out under the fossilized remains of a giant rahi, rib cage and skull intact in the ceiling, and large enough for him to stand upright. Being quickly noticed, he was approached by the matoran who had summoned him. Omand was the founder of the Avashkans and when he summoned Monton it usually meant he was in store for a forage into The Dark Walk. Monton was uneasy, as the Avashkan's only toa, only he was ever sent out on such missions. And Omand had started to become more fascinated with the shadows than with the technology they developed from it. True, although the cult meddled in the dark more than most outsiders were comfortable with they did not worship it. "Monton," Omand addressed in a voice gravelly enough to represent its age, "I need you to go to the Koro, to fetch me a tablet on the properties of water mechanics in subterranean plant life." Monton waited. He knew the request could not be that simple. He wasn't surprised when Omand drew him closer and his voice dropped, "And I need you to find me rahkshi armor, any piece. The larger the better. You won't find it in any shop, you'll need to go to the Black Market." Noting Monton's questioning look he added, "I'm on the verge of something… with protodermic structures!" With a few further instructions Monton nodded and left the cavern. He didn't question Omand's secrecy. Omand was growing old and beginning to drift. Monton was certain that even in the Black Market he wouldn't find anything closer to a rahkshi than kofo-jaga droppings. But a reason to return to Onu-Koro was something of a holiday, and although he cherished his solitude with the earth he readily welcomed a chance to interact with the city.
  3. Thanks everyone for the comments! I wish! I used to love making Bionicle stop motion until it just got too hard. Hm thats interesting. I personally loved Onua's stance. No I wasn't going for an anime look, I just love trying to draw masks in different ways that look non-set-like, yet resemblant of the set and usually with a way for a mouth to operate.
  4. IC: His bent legs rested upon the ground as he sat upright, engaging in the Avashkan pose of meditation, hands placed on the earth behind him. He felt the earth -- he was the earth -- every rock, every pebble, every mineral. The earth lived, it grew and breathed, it was alive, and he was part of it! The Kraata tattoos on his armor and mask became luminous with a green light as his Kanohi Iden activated and his soul began to reach out from his form into his surroundings. Thats when the screams began. Monton could suppress them for a short while, but of late the had grown in force. His amazement at the earth was soon replaced by a deep Fear, a fear that quickly led to immense shame, and then dropped into despair. It was a struggle, Monton could feel it, and although weak there still was an undeniable grip as the ghosts of his past latched on to his soul, attempting to hold it back from his body. With the feeling of an icicle being thrust through his torso he gasped loudly, eyes wide as his soul reentered his Toa form. He quickly reigned in the Fear, recalling his teachings and gasping heavily for air. As his breath calmed it became in tune with that of the earth once again, and the glow from his tattoos faded. He stared out into The Dark Walk for a few more seconds and then stood and began to make his way back to the nearby caverns, where he and the other Avashkans had made their home.
  5. So I was once thinking, Toa control elements, but you don't really see it. But you know it happens. Kinda like how you know that guy at BK puts your burger in the microwave before serving it. But you just don't really see it. And so I saw The Legend of Kora and got inspired and set to doodling bionicle. You can totes my goats see the influences from TLOK and the rest of the Avatar universe :3 edit: Ill settle for this on the link edit: AHA, I figured it out, now the thumbnail works as the link
  6. Name: Toa Monton Species: Toa of Earth Description: Typical Toa of Earth; bigger, bulkier, well muscled but not necessarily tall for a Toa, mainly black with underlinings of grey. His armor and Kanohi Iden are tattooed with a luminescent green ink [derived from organic substances subterranean plants] that glows as his spirit enters or leaves his body. Gender: Male Powers/Weapons: Element of Earth Tech: [none at present] Weaknesses: As Monton spent a long time in exile underground his senses became closely entwined with the earth and the life it supports. Harm done to any part of it is greatly disturbing to him, as all life is invaluable. As a member of the Avashkan Cult he is shunned by the general populace of Onu-Koro. The exposure to the aura and odiousness of The Dark Walk have left him prone to anger and fear, a heightened fight-or-flight response, making him overreact to low-threat situations. His views and priorities seem narrow minded as he holds little [if any] political stances and values the well-being of the earth of the island equivalent to that of its inhabitants. Moodiness makes Monton a poor teammate, preferring his unity with the earth. Another major result of his occult life is his reverence for shadows and loathe for light. Any intense/pure light is harmful to him, and any venture to the upper world is only made at night. He avoids killing, but uncontrolled rage and fear make this goal difficult. Alignment: His beliefs and self-considered home lie in the Avashkan Cult. As a result of their teachings his true love lies with Mata Nui's creation. History: Monton was originally a guardian of Onu-Koro until he joined the Avashkan Cult. The Avashkans [a matoran word meaning "shadow seeker"] were originally a political party within the Koro who vied for a halt in production -- a cease to all mining and construction -- until technology adapted for the Koro to return resources back to the earth, rather than continuing to rob nutrients from it. Desperate, their leaders began to explore The Dark Walk as a means of solution. The Avashkans began to show a reverence for the shadows and the things that grew within it, disturbing the villagers with experiments and discoveries that shared properties with the Makuta and rahkshi. The party began to drift from political to occult, to the point that began to reside at The Dark Walk. Avashkans may now enter but are not allowed to reside within the Koro. Not that they would be accepted by the villagers, Avashkans only wear black and are easily identified by the luminous tattoos that signify their members. Despite their eerie appearance and dealings with the dark the common view of the cult is misconstrued. Rather the Avashkans cherish the earth of Mata Nui and its children -- including the villagers who reject them -- and in their exile they have found ways to coexist with the natural in the dark. They get their bad rep from their traditional rituals that include exposure to the odiousness of The Dark Walk and ventures towards the Mangaia. Monton was at first a scoffer of the Avashkan ways and their pitiful attempts to end the prosperity of the Onu-Koro. His opinions changed when he studied the properties of the earth with Omand, founder of the Avashkan party and whose knowledge he respected greatly. Monton studied under Omand as the party made pivotal shifts towards cult, and his teachings had a heavy impact upon his pupil. Monton began to see the world as a living organism, constantly dying and being reborn from the same matter, reconstituting its surroundings into itself. He also began to see that the dark was not to be feared for its own sake, and that it gave way for light to be; night is as essential as day for all that is living. When the cult seceded the Toa left willingly with it, causing a great stir in the Koro. For years he has lived as an Avashkan on the fringe of society, meditating, pondering the well-being of nature and society, engaging his spirit form in the earth and shadows, studying the properties of creatures of the deep, and even venturing near the Mangaia. He refuses to kill, resorting to putting himself in harm's way as last resort. Exposure to the odiousness of The Dark Walk is something possible as a Toa but lethal to a Matoran, making him an essential member. Years spent in meditation have helped to control his weaknesses towards rage and fear after he once murdered an entire mining expedition from Onu-Koro that was experimenting with a new explosive. The murder was mistaken for a cave-in and Monton remained unidentified, yet he continues to be tormented by the ghosts of his victims, especially in his spirit form.
