WOW I forgot that that used to be a rule. I bought it sometime back in '08-'09. I was just thinking "y'know I didn't really use the perks that much" but I definitely took pride in being able to start threads for people (and group PMs, post-Downtime). Too obvious? What other explanation is there for Toru being the only one left on both Meticulous One lists? The Head Honcho has probably voted for me. That makes it 4-4. Ehks, you have three possible outcomes to choose from. Choose wisely. ~Unit#phntk#1

A brief examination of the suspect lists and remaining players makes it rather obvious that Toru is the Meticulous One. So I vote Toru. ~Unit#phntk#1

We know that Makuta's plan was to steal the Ignika from the Piraka once they acquired it. What then? The Plan required Mata Nui to be reawakened by the Toa using the mask. Let's say Velika interfered, somehow beating up the Piraka and throwing them off the island. From there, the Inika and Nuva meet up. Perhaps they descend together to find the Ignika, or maybe one team is sent back to help rebuild Metru Nui. Either way, the mask is found, and it plunges into the sea so it can lead the Toa to the Codrex. What if the Piraka were successful in their plot? Teridax steals the mask from them easily enough, and from there he needs to get it to the Toa. Perhaps he places it where they can find it, steers them towards that spot. Or he could put on a grand show of benevolence and hand it over to them in person. Or it tears itself from his claws and goes for a swim anyway. The Toa still end up taking it to the Codrex. No matter what, Makuta wins. At least until 2010. Unless the Ignika gets lost, destroyed, or trapped in a Toa Seal, changing the victors of 2006 doesn't really make a difference to the Plan. Pretty crazy. All that to say, no, I don't think it's likely that Velika had precognition. Interesting hypothesis, though. We never learned much about how the destiny thing worked, even though it's one of the Three Virtues. It could be that he knew something of the Plan, and thought it might help him to further his goals. So he let Makuta's unknowing minions run amok while helping the Resistance with vague riddles to avoid suspicion. That's pretty out there, though. ~Unit#phntk#1

That sounds exactly like a Garai. But we know that the elemental masks were made from elemental Toa disks. How were the elemental disks made? Perhaps a Disk of Gravity is made by combining Levitation + Increase Weight. I feel like the elemental masks would be more common if they were so easy to make, though. To answer the original question, I can see Reconstitute at Random being used for the Felnas, Mask of Mutation or Mask of Adaptation. Remove Poison could be Healing or the Rode. Freeze is a bit harder. While the Mask of Ice is obvious, the only other possibility I see is the Shelek. Looking at the list of masks, there's quite a few that I can't really think of combinations for, either. Masks could be made directly out of protodermis; perhaps some can only be made via that method? The same would go for disks with those powers. They must be forged from liquid, instead of being combined from other disks. Some combinations may also be obscure and/or illogical. Both explanations would make the production of various powers a trade secret. Certainly Nynrah and Xia would be a place to obtain masks you wouldn't be able to commission from Metru-Nui craftsmen. This also gives an in-universe explanation for the prevalence of the twelve Mata/Metru masks in Metru-Nui. They are versatile powers with simple, well-known combinations, making them popular. Eventually, they may have fashionable, so that the few alternate powers being made were forged in one of those twelve shapes. This fashion probably spread to a few other islands from Metru-Nui. It's really a shame that this concept wasn't fleshed out more. While it's far from the most striking example of lost potential in the canon, we've now established that there is plenty of room for interesting ideas here. ~Unit#phntk#1
