  1. He very well may have gotten tired of hundreds of questions that he'd mostly answered before. But yes, LEGO did 'randomly' step in and change the rules on him (and this is common knowledge; I'm a little surprised anyone thought differently ). But it wasn't actually random because the new policy is something that many companies do just to play it safe now. Completely unnecessary in Greg's case, but the rule's the rule. And age verification isn't really possible. We already have the option for people to include their ages (although personally I don't recommend giving any personal info out like that online), but there's just no way to make sure. Oh I see, I was kind of absent here for a while after Bionicle ended, so I must've missed the memo Disappointing that we can't really enforce it, how do the Lego forums do it differently?
  2. Not sure if someone already pointed this out, and I apologize if they did, but over on the Lego discussion, Greg says this in response to a question asking if Lego imposed rules/restriction when interacting with fans: "Yes. I do have permission to do social media, but I cannot talk on an outside site to people under 13, and since BZP has no age verification, I can't chat there anymore." Here's the link: https://community.lego.com/t5/LEGO-General/Chat-with-Greg-Farshtey/m-p/6681144/highlight/true#M91298 Is there any way to add age verification lol? Was age verification not on here before, or did the Lego group step in randomly and stop Greg from talking to us? Seems kind of sad to see Greg not talking to us anymore over something so simple, I just thought he got bored talking to us or something. And I think at this point, almost everyone here must be past 13.
  3. Really? Wow, I always just figured the same matoran originally made by the GBs were the only ones in the MU, never figured they could just be made.
  4. I agree with your guys's opinions. Personally, the only modification I have done is painting a Kraahkan golden, because I can't seem to find a Voya gold one anyone, and also painted a few armor pieces that same shade of gold, as I could not get a right mix to match either Voya gold or Dull gold. I made him just this week, though, so my modifications don't interfere with any contests On another note, pertaining to alterations in contests, how would a judge know if you glued any parts together? Just curious, it seems like that would be an easy way to cheat, especially if you covered it up with other pieces or just did it well. Or is gluing allowed?
  5. oops, I had said boxor was my firt, but now I recall that I started off with a McToran way back when, the purple/black one (Onepu right?) while my brother got Hewki
  6. That's a good point as well, altering just one piece does look pretty lazy. So it should pretty much be go all in, or don't go in at all?
  7. I guess I didn't think about how it affected contests. So would the general consensus be that alterations are ok when doing so for yourself, as long as you aren't competing with other people?
  8. Not sure if anyone already posted this, but I found this while looking at random Zaktan pictures on brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=261508 (Pictures belong to Brickshelf user Tyranide)
  9. Personally, I've seen many fantastic custom made Bionicles pieces, ranging from simple repaints to full on cutting and recombining. I've also seen some criticism for the people who decide to make such alterations. My question is, where does this criticism come from exactly? I've just been curious, because personally it seems like another way for Bionicle fans to artistically express themselves, and so I don't know why there is so much backlash for doing so. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, it doesn't seem to fit under Bionicle creations or Set discussion, but please move me wherever this needs to be if it shouldn't be here.
  10. I personally hated Karzahni (the being) and Tren Krom's death. Two of the most ancient beings in the MU, just dead in the blink of an eye, and right when the story stopped being written too. I always thought Karzahni was one of the most unique and frightening villains of the series, and Tren Krom held a lot of potential as a character. Their deaths just seemed pointless.
  11. My very first was the Boxor, although my brother had gotten both a Tahu Nuva as well as a Tahnok-Kal before me.
  12. Rest in peace Heather...my condolences to your family and friends. What a tragic and abrupt loss.
  13. I'm pretty sure the whole 'eye turning red thing' is simply intended to be symbolic of Makuta taking over, not necessarily a physical change.
  14. All good reasons. I feel like so much of this year has been wasted http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/confusedw.gif I mean it's very likely the last year of Bionicle we're gonna get (at least for a long time, maybe when I'm 30 or something lol), and yet instead of getting lots of needed closure, we get almost nothing.
  15. It's been a LONG while since the last update. When Lego said they'd be cancelling the Bionicle sets, they said the story would continue throughout 2011, but for now, it seems pretty dead (I guess the year is almost over, so that may make sense). What do you think? EDIT: Whoo 1st Hot Topic!
