Well, it turns out Kit Martello didn't perform too well in the BBC contest, only getting around seven votes in the first round of polling. I don't feel too bad about not winning, since there was a lot of talent in the contest, but it still bothers me that most of my feedback concerning Kit has been largely negative. Regardless, I think Sparkytron's Eris is due a round of congratulations for emerging victorious in the final poll. There are several things I dislike about this MOC, particularly the stand, but it's still a work of art in the end. In other MOCing news, I've posted a topic of my various tablescraps over the past few months. Now, I don't mean "tablescraps" in a negative sense. I'm quite proud of these, and none of them are bare-bones Heromods. But compared to Kit Martello these were all fairly simple endeavors. I anticipate bringing Kit Martello and some of these MOCs (particularly my good buddy Bogwaddle) to Brickfair Virginia this year. I'm hoping to continue modding some of these in the meantime, and perhaps scrapping some of the more basic ones to open those pieces back up for experimentation. One set I've been hoping to get lately, both for its MOCing potential and for its brilliance as a model, is 70500 Kai's Fire Mech from the Ninjago line. But frustratingly, none of the stores around where I'm attending college seem to have it. Still, I'm keeping a sharp lookout for it, and will not be afraid to get it online if double VIP points happen before I find it in a brick-and-mortar store. So that's what's up on the LEGO/MOCing side of things. Schoolwork and other obligations have been keeping me from dedicating long stretches of time to MOCing or building, but I've recently started making progress on my drawing assignments again so hopefully I can get caught up fairly soon.

In addition to Kit Martello, I've built a number of smaller Hero Factory MOCs over the past several months. I figure it's about time I shared some of them. None are quite as impressive or well-refined as Kit, but I chose to photograph these because they use some clever techniques and I'm quite proud of them. The first two MOCs are digital, the rest made with physical bricks.Alternate views of most of the MOCs in this topic can be viewed in the Flickr gallery. All images below link to larger versions. Brimstone I built Brimstone with LEGO Digital Designer last semester as an experiment in certain armor combinations, particularly the Super Heroes chest piece and the 1.0 Hero Factory torso beam. She is supposed to be female, although that may not be apparent due to her generic mask and wide shoulders. All the parts are in colors that they are available for purchase in, though I've had some fun experimenting with alternate color palettes and layering. Hero Factory Canine Buddy This was another digital experiment I started last semester, this time in creating a "police dog" companion to scale with a small or medium hero figure. He uses 25 pieces and is the sort of figure I'd love to see as a set at a "Matoran-like" size and price point, if that were to be reintroduced. In fact, even throwing him in with a small Hero set and pushing the set up to a price point of $12.99 wouldn't bother me. Natalie Breez After building the MOC that would become Kit Martello, I wanted to attempt a smaller, more basic figure. The head doesn't suit this helmet or the MOC's color scheme, but several of my Glatorian heads broke as I was packing my sets up for storage last semester and as such I have been trying to use the new, less fragile head piece whenever possible. Cyril Starlight Having built an couple decent female MOCs, I wanted to experiment with some of the parts and techniques that were ill-suited to female characters, such as Drilldozer's torso/shoulder shell or the two 2.0 torso shells used back-to-back. Cyril was the result. His shield technically uses illegal connections, since the Technic angle connectors do not add up to 360º and thus are in compression. Still, I felt it fit together nicely. Poison Dart The torso design I used for Poison Dart is actually one I came up with last semester but didn't end up posting at that time. XT4's 5x6 torso beam is attached to a more basic 7x9 torso beam, creating an assortment of connection points. What I love best about this torso design is that it allows both the upper body and the lower body to be well-armored. I figured Poison Dart's waspish figure was best-suited to a villain rather than a hero or civilian, and I chose to use Toxic Reapa's head as it was ambiguously-gendered but unambiguously villainous (also, I was out of 2013 head pieces and wanted to continue avoiding Glatorian heads). Bogwaddle Finally we come to the 41-piece Bogwaddle, one of my favorite tablescraps from this semester. He started out with me simply wanting to use some of the Earth Green parts from Ogrum, but as soon as I saw how goofy and playful Ogrum's mask looked when flipped upside-down, I knew I wanted it to be the basis of my MOC. What makes Bogwaddle so appealing to me is not only his small size but also his articulation. His waist is articulated (though you can't see it very well in these pictures) so it can rock side-to-side, and his shoulders can swing back and forth. This, coupled with his light and well-distributed weight, makes it very easy and fun to put him in amusing poses.Comments, criticisms, and suggestions are all welcome! Flickr *cough* Ahem, I say, old bean! Nowadays, with all these Hero chaps running around, I daresay things aren't quite what they once were, eh? Back in my day, we were known as Her Majesty's Gentlemen Adventurers! Of course, now they've adulterated our sacred emblem into some sort of insignia for their 'Hero Factory.' How droll.Anyway, in my day we we just had to fire up the jolly old atmospheric ionization generator, have a smoke, and bag a rapscallion before teatime! Now these new blokes dash around without any sense of class. I say, if you don't have an electrical cane or tophat, you can hardly call yourself a Hero at all! And they're shorter too. Why, back in my day, I . . .What's that, sir? Tea, you say? Oh well, bang on my good fellow, eh wot! ------ I certainly had fun with that description. The idea for the MOC came from the head design, and generally developed from there. He's definitely a debonair fellow, isn't he? ~B~

Today I will be looking at 44006 Breez, one of the smaller sets of this wave. Is this set worth the money? Read on to find out! The bag displays great artwork of Breez with the Brains surrounding her. The bag is mainly green. It also shows that the code gives you 400 Game Points for the Brain Attack game on HeroFactory.com. It notes the piece count (49) and the ages recommended (6-12) The back shows the legal disclaimers and more about the Brain Attack game. It also shows the combiner model for Breez and Ogrum. It demonstrates the visor going up and down, as well as the spinning saw shield. New Elements There are some new elements included in the set. The new chestplate has a place for the Hero Core and 4 areas where the claw-like things can be attached. The new head definetly proves interesting, as an axle can connect to the front. It also WON'T BREAK!!!!! I bet MOCists will go goo-goo over this. The new, transparent visor can attach to the back of the new head. Sadly, it won't work with many of the helmets, and is not compatible with the older heads either. Shame. But, small loss. The helmet is a modified version of Breez's original mold. Build Up The build is mainly like any other Hero, but with some new aspects. Making the Bow Staff was kinda interesting. It is hard to get the claws on the chestplate into the right position though. All in all, a pretty basic build like usual. Playibility This set is fun to play with, as it can preform many poses. The saw shield provides for various uses and ways to play. Strange... both this and the 2.0 Breez have a saw weapon of some kind. Eh, whatever. The Bow Staff can split into two, which can be fun for playing. It also doesn't have any irritating launchers, so that is good. On this set, even though it has so many random colors, it just... works. Breez's shield can go on her back. Unlike with Rocka and Bulk, it actually looks good. It doesn't stick out too much from the back like the other heroes. Makes for good fun during play. Its kinda like how in 2.0, the heroes shields could go on their back in the show (Sadly the sets never had that feature) This figure is definetly made to look like an actual girl, unlike the Breakout one. Not to mention... NON-CRACKING HEAD!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Natalie looks good with her former variants as well. However, her newest upgrade is smaller than her Breakout armor, as well as less armed. That is good, because she isn't over-bulky and over-equipped with weaponary. She looks feminine this time around. And they released her on time. Final Notes All in all, 44006 Breez is a very interesting set, with a few new parts and many recolors. It is definetly one of the better sets of this wave. Bulk doesn't have much bulk, and Rocka, well... I don't have a general gripe over him, but Breez is easily the best in my opinion. Not too big, not too small. Pros New elements and recolorsGreat color schemeInteresting weaponsNot over-bulkyNON-CRACKING HEAD!!!! Cons Uh.. well, there's... no...Hmmm...I... got nothing We all know how Breez can talk to virtually any animal. Giddy up, little Scorpio! So, thanks for looking at my review. Hello out there, Ptah here I learned about Hasbro's Construct Bots a couple of weeks ago on Geekdads. The short of it is Transformers given a Hero Factory twist. 10 Autobots and Decepticons as buildable, posable action figures with parts you can mix and match. I think Hero Factory with its longer history including the experience from Bionicle will mop the floor with the Construct Bots as far as sales go, but it got me thinking. If your favorite Hero had an alt-form to transform into what would it be? Heroes with vehicles has been done: Furno and Stormer have cycles. Heroes with attachments will be out this year: see Surge and his jet pack. But what would see Breeze or Rocka or even the villains transforming into. -
The Hero Factory Building System is Amazing and Here's Why

Before we proceed, let me say that this model is NOT MINE. It was created by LEGO Group designers (EDIT: The designer was Christoffer Raundahl, one of the inventors of this building system whose BIONICLE design credits include the original Tahu and Kopaka sets), though it is most likely a MOC and not a set design (if it is an unannounced set design, though, you are free to celebrate at your leisure). The painted variant was detailed by Søren Westborg, a Danish artist who seems to specialize in painting tabletop gaming figurines, as a commission for LEGO Systems A/S. Original model (photo taken by Flickr user Teabox at LEGO World in Copenhagen) Another pic of the original model A pic of the painted version Gallery of Westborg's commissioned work (also includes a lovely painted Raw-Jaw) I've built the leg and foot of the model on LDD (minus the heel piece, which is not available on LDD) and it's quite brilliant how they go together. I hope that some of these techniques wind up in sets eventually. These models have all the complexity of Witch Doctor and then some, and yet it comes together into a model that is far more refined and cohesive in design. Truly this model demonstrates that the Hero Factory building system is far from infeasible for "titan-sized" models. It just takes some very clever use of parts and a custom skeleton to create something every bit as incredible as many of BIONICLE's greatest titan models. And of course, as far as set design is concerned, a sufficient price point and age range for such a large, complex model. -

She was originally a MOC I made shortly after arriving at college this semester, as an experiment in making a female Hero Factory figure that is well-armored on all sides. Furno's helmet was used due to its unique look and cute, feminine expression when used in reverse.After the contest was announced I added the tail to reinforce the animal motifs of the helmet. I considered a squirrel tail (since bunny girls are unbelievably cliché), but I had a hard enough time creating a connection point that could support a tail this small.Feel free to share any thoughts, comments, or criticisms.

Mark Baldo directed the Hero Factory episodes and BIONICLE TLR. And Cole is a Ninja from Ninjago. Part 1: Introduction Announcer: This is the Zero... uh, I mean Hero Factory! Where the weakest and most out-of-date Heroes are built! Customized, with overused weapons and technology, for any mission! No matter where it takes them. When 5 epic villians strike, the most weak force against evil is ready! Zero Factory! We build Zeroes! Director: Say it right, or else! Announcer: But I like mine better! Brings a whole new meaning to it! Director: Oh, you little !! SAY IT RIGHT!! Announcer: Ok, that's a little harsh... Yeah, it's not incredibly complex. It's essentially a modified version of the torso I use for humanoid creations. The legs and arms are made from scratch as well. I really liked the solid look and feel the original set model had, and I wanted to expand upon that a bit without making it bulky and cumbersome. At first I went with a sleeker design for the arms - a design without the shoulder pads and the connection from the body to the rest of the arm being closer together - but it seemed to be missing something, so I went with this instead. Unfortunately that took away some of the posability, but I think it looks good. I also wanted to go for a kind of limb-swapping thing, with various weapons, spider legs, wheels, etc., but after some time it just seemed a bit too involved for a character that apparantly isn't in the story. Some inspiration for this came from Samus from the Metroid Series, Dyson from the TV series TRON: Uprising ([shameless plug]which is an incredibly well-written, well- designed show and is also incredibly underviewed [/shameless plug]), and Lockdown from Transformers: Animated. My cousin and I were talking about HF a while back, and we debated for a long time about some inconsistencies with the Heros, both set-wise and story-wise.First, we discussed the Heroes' weapons, and the way they are held. We noticed that some Heroes, like Stormer, seem to have a "dominant hand" that they hold their tools with. However, some of them are not uniform in this way, set-wise.Stormer: Always has a weapon in his right hand. (righty)Stringer: HE was a bit confusing during Savage Planet, since he was right-handed in his 1.0 form, but a lefty in his 3.0 shape. However, my cousin pointed out that Stringer's Quad-Amplitude Mega-Decibel sound blaster is situated in his right hand in the instructions. So, we questioned his left-handed claw when he otherwise appears to be right-handed.Bulk: Always has a weapon in his left hand. (lefty)Breez: Always has a weapon in both hands. No idea where she stands in the matter, since sha has always been released with at least two weapons.Surge: He always had a weapon in both hands, and his Ice Spear Blaster (2.0) was attached to both hands. Not sure where he goes, either.Furno: First two incarnations had a weapon in his left hand, but since his 3.0 upgrade, he's remained a righty.Evo: Always has a weapon in his right hand. (righty)Nex: Always has a weapon in his left hand. (lefty)Rocka: Hard to say, since both of his incarnations had weapons in different hands.So, what we were wondering is whether or not the heroes have a "dominant hand," and why some of them seem to change. (I know it's a set-designer thing, but it still bugged us.And secondly, the rookies: Nathan Evo, Julius Nex, and Rocka.When they all started out, they all had specific skill sets and knowledge.Take Evo and Nex, for example. "Born" at the same time, but as the series progressed, Nex was treated more like a full-fledged hero, while Evo was always being picked on because of his rookie status (Breakout). And then Rocka comes in and within a year, seems to excel beyond Evo and Nex (maybe even Stringer or Furno), both older than him and (most likely) more advanced in their training.So, basically, what we wanted to ask you guys is what you make of this, and what you think the reasoning behind it was.EDIT: I forgot to point out something else with Evo. Nex retained his personality from Ordeal of Fire, but Evo went from master of his emotions and the ultimate cannon to an unlearned kid with a big gun and almost no idea what he's doing during Breakout. Evo was my favorite Hero from the moment he was introduced, but his portrayal in Breakout just didn't live up to his introduction in OoF.

I've had this theory ever since I first saw hero factory, and now that I'm up to date on it, I am even more intrigued. My theory is this: Hero Factory and Bionicle are both set in the same universe. Seem far fetched? Well here is the story line I've worked out. It is well known that the great beings survived past the destruction of Spherus Magna as there are some whom are still alive in the Bionicle cannon, what I think is that when Spherus Magna broke apart, one great being decided to leave the galaxy all together and create a new world for himself. This isn't too hard to imagine as great beings have free will and cirtainly have the intellect. That beings name was Akiyama Makuro, the founder of the hero factory and, to quote HS01, "[T]he oldest known robot in the galaxy." There he found the same substance used by the great beings on Spherus Magna to create what the Matoran would call Toa Stones, but what he called Quaza. He found that you didn't have to use the quaza to transform a small, simple biomachanical creature into a larger, more powerful one, but you could use cylindrical cores of quaza to fuel robotic husks and give them life, sentience and, in it's pure form, a powerful will to do justice. So, just like a Toa, but without, as of yet, the ability to fully harness elemental and mask powers. So, I have no idea if this is something that Lego is actually doing, but it seems to fit in quite well, if there are any holes in the theory, let me know and I'll try to address them.

As the title and the tags suggest, not a single piece that came out of a Bionicle set was used on this MOC. It uses pieces from 11 HF sets, whose names are too many to list so I'll leave it up to your imagination to guess which ones I mean. I love this MOC dearly as I've been dying to make a war horse using HF pieces ever since the new shell designs came out this summer on many of the HF wave sets. Let's cut to the chase, ladies and gents, and let me show you one of my favorite MOC's to date. I am most likely going to revamp it when I get back to Saudi Arabia for Christmas, so you could well call this an unfinished prototype which looks really good :PHere's a link to the photostream. Haven't posted here on the forums in a while, I know. Been busy building and stuff. Decided to make a revamp of one of my favorites of the new Breakout wave, which obviously is Splitface. Bulked him up, customized his gun, and gave him a larger 'fleshy' left hand. Splitface faced Surge once before the Breakout, Surge's electrical defense tools caused Splitface's hand to swell like a balloon, making his hand bigger. Actually the only reason it's like that is because I couldn't find a 2.0 red hand for some reason But anyway here are some pics. When Hero Factory was announced, every hardcore BIONICLE fanboy threw up in their mouths a little. Gaudily colored heroes pre ordered from a factory to fight the villain of the week? No thank you! What happened to the dark, multidimensional, epic sagas of days gone by? The suspense and intrigue? All we have now are flat, boring characters, dialogue that sounds like it comes from a script, and a Power Ramgers style storyline with little to no improvement on the actual sets. And then Ordeal of Fire happened. Not only do we have a vastly superior building system to BIONICLE in every way shape or for, that is still 120% compatible with BIONICLE, System, and Technic pieces alike, but the story started taking steps in the right direction, too. And now we've built up from Power Rangers to the two words any BIONICLE fan has been fangirl shrieking about: Core Hunter. Let's start at the beginning, shall we?Rise of The Rookies: While series 1 was very childish, it built a very strong foundation for what was to come. It also introduced the light hearted, action packed, and humor oriented episodic style that now defines the HF story. But beyond that, it introduced Dunkan Bulk and his Rapid Fire Metal Sphere Shooter. Why is this significant, you may ask? Does a projectile that fires densely packed metal spheres at high velocity in rapid succession sound familiar to you? Did BIONICLE have frigging machine guns? The answers to those questions should be yes and no, respectively.Ordeal of Fire: Here's where it gets good. We have a gang of druggies who are heavily armed and hopped up on Hero Pod Fuel that brutally smashes Alpha 1, as well as a blood reference ("Ugh, now I have Hero oil on my hands. Nitroblast, get me a washcloth."). Did BIONICLE have their characters leak oil when injured? I didn't think so. And any police officer can tell you that if a gangster is on spthe right stuff, they can get scary, especially if their toting giant freaking uranium tipped drills. But the real gem in this saga is when Mark Surge, dip urging our climactic battle, takes a mother beeping cargo ship and flies it at full speed into a dude's face, smashing him so frigging hard he's entire body is ripped from its limb, leaving a mangled and sparking hand still firmly plugged into the wall. Hero Factory isn't dark enough my left foot. But wait, it gets better.Savage Planet: Here, we have a bat guano insane professor dressed in a skeleton suit run around with someone's skull, driving spikes of energy crystal into the backs of random sentient animals, forcing them to do his bidding while they're still fully conscious of what their doing (see: Raw Jaw). Mind ####, much?And then in the first minute of the show we have a plucky young hero voiced by Spongebob Squarepants of all people get brutally mauled by wolves right on camera in a relatively graphic display. Yep. Real light, guys.Finally,Breakout: Whoo boy, this ones a doozy. We have a homicidal psychopath create a black hole in the middle of the Hero Factory, releasing swarms of criminal scum across the universe to wreak untold havoc while the psychopath himself locks down the galaxy's greatest beacon of justice, stealing their top secret files, and then tries to blow the whole place up while it's still full of civilians. Then we have a schizophrenic murderer try to slam a giant space rock into a space station (also full of civilians), who ends up being impaled by a lightning sword and short circuiting (read: having every one of your blood vessels supercharged with hundreds or possibly even thousands of volts while you're made of METAL, one of the best conductors of electricity out there.) Next up we have a dude who shoots corrosive acid at you attempt to unleash swarms of angry poisonous minions on the world, whose favorite tactic as stated by his online bio is to create a small incision with a laser and pump you full of acid so you melt from the inside out. Then we have Jawblade, a massive shark who not only takes a bite out of Furno and mauls him Fangz style but who also uses Oxidium to rust robots. Imagine having your whole body slowly age and crust over before your eyes until you can't move without causing yourself extreme, excruciating pain. It's like aging and getting arthritis but ten times worse and it happens in undera minute. Voltix pumps Stringer full of lightning ala Surge and Splitface, but instead of impaling and short circuiting him he overloads his Hero Core, so that's basically like having a defibrillator hooked up to a nuclear power plant used on you when your heart is working just fine. The books give us the Doom Box, aka the claustrophobic's worst nightmare, a box that expands to encompass an entire galaxy, then crushes everything inside it slowly and brutally and did I mention it can't be turned off? And finally, Core Hunter. A serial killer that doesn't just kill you, but takes a giant pincer and rips your very heart and soul out of your body and wears it as a trophy.Good luck sleeping at night, kiddos. -
I haven't seen much discussion of the Hero Factory Secret Mission series by Greg Farshtey except conversations I've initiated... and that goes not only for BZPower but also anywhere else I go for online discussion. Have you read the two Secret Mission books that have been released so far (The Doom Box and Legion of Darkness)? And if not, what's keeping you?I thoroughly recommend this series for anyone who's a fan of either Hero Factory or the BIONICLE books by Greg Farshtey, as they're easily the same quality as the BIONICLE books and far superior to any other Hero Factory media to date as far as story is concerned.Chapter Books LEGO Hero Factory Secret Mission #1: The Doom Box was released September 1, 2012 and tells the story of Core Hunter's attempt to assemble the pieces of an ancient weapon called the Doom Box, which once assembled would have the potential to destroy the entire galaxy. The Heroes of Alpha 1 Team pursue Core Hunter across various planets, but find themselves thwarted at every turn. Over the course of the adventure, the Heroes face Core Hunter himself, a fearsome space creature, and a powerful ancient figure with ambiguous intentions. And not everyone lives to the end of the story. LEGO Hero Factory Secret Mission #2: Legion of Darkness was released October 1, 2012. Furno is reviewing the data files on the villains who escaped in the mass breakout, and finds that several were involved in a classified mission from the early days of Hero Factory. Asking Bulk why the mission was classified, the veteran hero tells Furno the story of how he, Stringer, Stormer, and Von Ness aided their team leader Thresher in striking fear into the hearts of the galaxy's villains. But one villain, Black Phantom, came up with a plan to take the Hero Factory down by forming a team of powerful villains called the Legion of Darkness. By the end of the story, a new villain has been created and the Hero Factory has come closer to its permanent destruction than it has in any other adventure, at the hands of the last person anyone would suspect of such a deed. LEGO Hero Factory Secret Mission #3: Collision Course will be released on January 1, 2013. We have no details on its plot, and we probably shouldn't draw any conclusions from the synopsis on Amazon (which is a generic preliminary synopsis that's been featured for pretty much all of the books, and really only applies to the first) or from the cover image (which seems like it just uses visuals from upcoming sets, just as the previous two books used 2012 visuals-- this topic isn't for discussing those, though). LEGO Hero Factory Secret Mission #4: Robot Rampage will be released on March 1, 2013. The same things I stated for the above novel also apply here. LEGO Hero Factory Secret Mission #5: Mirror World will be released on May 1, 2013. We have no further details on it.Young Readers Books The level two reader LEGO Hero Factory: Meet the Heroes and the level 3 reader LEGO Hero Factory: Heroes in Action were both written by Shari Last, published by Dorling Kindersley, and released April 30, 2012. I don't know too much about these books, but they don't really interest me at all because unlike the BIONICLE readers by Scholastic, these just use TV episode screenshots and/or official images of the sets rather than gorgeous hand-drawn illustrations.On July 15, 2013 Dorling Kindersley will be releasing two more readers, LEGO Hero Factory: The Alien Wars and LEGO Hero Factory: Alien Attack, though I'm not expecting much more of them than those already released. You're welcome to speculate about next year's story based on the titles, though I don't think that belongs in this topic.OtherFinally, on July 15, Dorling Kindersley will also be releasing a LEGO Hero Factory Ultimate Sticker Collection. The quality of their Ultimate Sticker Collections for other themes has been great, so anyone interested in that kind of thing might be looking forward to that.So that's the deal. As of the first Breakout wave, Furno has been released as a constraction figure more times than any character from BIONICLE. However, that's not counting the BIONICLE sets with minifigures. In that regard, I believe Hewkii was the winner with ten appearances: 1. Huki (2001) 2. Hewkii (2003) 3. Toa Hewkii (2006) 4. Lava Chamber Gate (as a minifigure, 2006) 5. Piraka Stronghold (as a minifigure, 2006) 6. Race for the Mask of Life (as a minifigure, 2006) 7. Toa Hewkii Mahri (2007) 8. Barraki Deepsea Patrol (as a minifigure, 2007) 9. Toa Undersea Attack (as a minifigure, wearing a Volitak for some reason, 2007) 10. Toa Terrain Crawler (as a minifigure, 2007) Taking that into consideration, Furno has a ways to go before he dethronres the true King of Being Released Over And Over Again.

So I was posting in "Hero Factory or Zero Factory" over in Lego Discussion, where I mentioned that I felt Breakout parts 1 and 2 were my favorite HF episodes, due to the pacing in OoF, corny puns in SP, and plot holes and flat characters in RotR. I was honestly surprised when not one but two posters said they felt Breakout was the worst of the HF television specials, so I decided to make this topic. What's your favorite Hero Factory episode/special/series out of Rise of the Rookies, Ordeal of Fire, Savage Planet, and Breakout? Mine is Breakout, because it had more developed characterization and plot lines than RotR, and dodn't have the pacing issues or horrid jokes as the later two. My least favorite would have to be RotR because of how flat all the characters other than Stormer and Furno were and the weird plot stuff going on with Von Nebula.
