  1. It's been ages since I've actually put something here in BBC, so I'm going to post a big one now! Over this past week, I've made quite a few MOCs, most of them being experiments in making small custom bodies. My Matoran design: Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/RandomBioMOCs/img_0038.jpg Back: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/RandomBioMOCs/img_0039.jpg Tyxama, Turaga of Fire: Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/RandomBioMOCs/tyxama_front.jpg Back: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/RandomBioMOCs/tyxama_back.jpg Sanmaka, post- Spherus Magna reformation female Toa of the Green Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/RandomBioMOCs/sanmaka_front.jpg Back: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/RandomBioMOCs/sanmaka_back.jpg Sanmaka was an experiment in building a titan-scale torso, and although it could do with a bit of tweaking, I'm happy with the overall result. The reason why I didn't make her sword any longer was because I wanted her to look like a soldier, and a short sword helps that along, and the excess amount of black on the hands was intended to look like gloves.
  2. The Mara Mech The Mara mech was created by the Organisation of Kopu. It was found by the Matoran Mikori who used it to escape the war ridden area. http://i.imgur.com/RbTsJLK.jpg Mikori http://i.imgur.com/My7b0cu.jpg Edit: Large pictures linked; please keep posted images in BBC to 640x640 pixels and 100 kB. -Wind-
  3. Sexism aside, if you were a Matoran/Toa, what elemental faction would you be apart of and why? 4. Vote away! My favourite is the MahToran build, basically because it introduced 0 new pieces, and used previous ones in a very innovative way, even though the Avtoran build is one of the builds that I use most often when I'm making Matoran MOCs.
  5. I made these a long time ago, like 4 years ago, but they've been "buried" with my other MOCs so I finally took them out and re-built what was lost, and here they are! Here's a group shot. I haven't made the Ga-Matoran or a Ko-Matoran yet, but they're next. Le-Matoran Ta-Matoran Po-Matoran Onu-Matoran Ga-Matoran Ko-Matoran How to build one, I think the picture is pretty clear on how to build it. Another group shot. A full group shot. C&C appreciated. Thanks for viewing! EDIT: I added full group shot and Ko and Ga Matoran.
  6. Click for Tiribombastic! 'Tiribomba' is such a fabulous Matoran name, I decided he had to make an appearance in Nuva, and thus the first all-Matoran episode of the series was born! It's no technical masterpiece - I had to make the whole thing in two days, as I would then be packing to go to university (which is where I am now) but I'm pleased with the dialogue, especially one little nerdy name-drop (see if you can find it). Thanks to ChickenBond for voicing Tiribomba at the last minute, and for doing so with such enthusiasm. What do you guys think, should Tiribomba become a recurring character? This episode also features a new title sequence that I'm very proud of, and is (I think) more novel than the one I was originally using. In addition, check out BIONICLE: The Untold Chapters, a playlist of of short films from various creators set in and around the adventures of the main BIONICLE storyline. A big thank you to Ids5621, TheBohrokMan and Vrahno for allowing me to add their films to this collection! Hopefully this will increase over time, with films from all across the BIONICLE saga. The next few episodes are written, but they may be a while away. Like I said, I'm now at university, and while I can still make animations I'm not 100% sure whether they'll be as frequent. I'm already limited in terms of printing new backdrops, and most of my brick buckets are at home, on the other side of the country. However, I plan to get to the next few episodes of Nuva and, as always, their releases will alternate between my YouTube channel and the Custom BIONICLE channel, so subscribe to both to stay up to date! If you have any feedback or suggestions, or things you'd like to see in a future short, feel free to post them! I'm constantly trying to think of ways to improve the series, or even ideas for a new series - would anyone want to see Metru? The next episode is called The Seventh Stone, and you can read more about upcoming episodes here. Don't worry, I won't post any spoilers . -Jam Pot
  7. https://www.flickr.com/photos/114035403@N02/sets/72157647895428858/ The one on the left hails from the town of Mediellan in the center of the White Dune Sea, near Onu-Koro. This matoran staunchly defends his hometown from violent rahi under the Makuta's influence. His name is Naiit. The other, Lelan, is a rug merchant in the iron and adobe landscape of the shoreside city of Dondo. Comments? Criticisms? I welcome all!
  8. This is my first contribution to BZPower in a while. Here's a random matoran for you all. Tell me what you think! link
  9. (I put this here, since I don't see much more of a place that I can put it. Staff, if you see fit to move it, please do so. An impromptu prototype set release isn't something we exactly... have a section for.) In addition to being god of the known universe (just kidding), I have actually been a intern for The LEGO Group for quite some time, working as a general researcher for statistics pertaining to the sales of sets, as well as consumer-prompted products (such as Ideas). LEGO had, obviously, seen the call for the return of BIONICLE, and actually began planning its return about a year after its end. Being in my position in the company (not to mention my interest in BIONICLE as a whole), they provided me with some prototype sets, which I could give them feedback on. (Bear in mind, from this point on, this is a prototype set, not the final design. Much, or all, could have changed.) It has now been about a week and a half since LEGO officially announced the return of BIONICLE, and they contacted me the other day, saying that I could release pictures and information about the prototype set that they gave me. So, with great excitement, I bring to you the "LEGO BIONICLE Small Set Size" prototype (boring name, I know, but I'm not allowed to actually tell you the character's name). View the whole gallery here once it's visible, or click on each photo below to see the full-size image. (Sorry, I don't know how to rotate the photos in Brickshelf, or if you even can.) || || || || || || || In the first two photos, I'm just showing the all-around design. In an attempt to give some of the "old feel" of Bionicle back (stylized as BIONICLE, but I'm just going to write it as Bionicle from here out; I like the look better, and being an intern gives me some flexibility with some things). In the third and fourth photos, I'm showing one of LEGO's new innovations with the joint pieces. Technically, they're called "stress relieving fractures", but basically what they are is just small breaks in the joint that cause them, basically, to not break further. Personally, I found those nice. Not having to worry about the eventual snap of the joint that slackens the entire appendage. The fifth photo is just showing the pieces. I think all of you should recognize at least most of them. You'll notice that the weapon-like thing (technically, it is a "defense tool") is kept intact; this is another new concept that LEGO is introducing with the advent of the "new" Bionicle. Some of the more complex sections of the sets actually come pre-assembled. Obviously, they can be taken apart, but they come pre-built to not confuse younger fans. The sixth and seventh photos show the general building process - just building the body, then attaching "tools" and such. The eighth, obviously, is the necessary FACE OFF against a Bohrok*. Anyway, that's about it! I hope you all enjoyed this special preview into the possibilities of 2015 LEGO BIONICLE sets! *(This Bohrok is actually a semi-MOC that I've had for... over three years?! Wow. Anyway, you can see it here.) Whoops, forgot to link the photos. Fixed, now! yes yes yes this is all a prank i admit it
  10. This MOC is actually a recolour of another MOC of mine (Poa) which was inpired by MOL itself. As you can see, this Takua is using the MOL colour scheme too (Very little blue and more grey). I actually tried shoehorning more blue on the MOC (such as the blue inner thighs, the feet and blue feet greebles), but to me it didn't look right. The concentrated blue on the face looks very striking in this case imo. gallery CC greatly appreciated
  11. I've seen around online pictures of Takua and Hahli in 2001 matoran form, but I cannot recall ever seeing those two for sale anywhere. So my question is, were those two ever sold in that form, or are those just Jala and Maku with different masks on, and had their identity changed? Thanks guys.
  12. Hi, everyone! I have for you some hand drawn Matoran pictures! Huzzah! So I drew these by sorting them into their occupations on Mata Nui. Lava Farmers: Clicky Left to Right: Aft, Aodhan, Tiribomba With these guys, I decided to add some darker hints on their color schemes. If you look closely, the yellow has specs of black to represent ash, due to their profession. This is also indicated somewhat in Aft's mask. Sailors: Clicky Left to Right: Kai, Pelagia (This one didn't turn out as well as the others, my apologies). For the Sailors, I emphasized on giving them strong-looking legs (hence the term 'sea legs'). Sanctum Guards: Clicky Left to Right: Talvi, Pakastaa I made sure to boost the bodily intimidation for these two. Since they are guards, I decided it would be best for them to look very tough and large. I'm going to be uploading more Matoran jobs on this topic soon.
  13. So why can't matoran of magnetism or gravity, or any of the others live in Metru-Nui? Now I do know that those elements were made later in canon after Metru-Nui and originally weren't there but was their separation ever fully explained in the story? Why do all of them have to live in separate villages? Why are only fire, water, air, earth, stone and ice united into one big super-city? Are Metru-Nui matoran like racist or something? Now I can understand why SOME tribes would be kept separate, like the De-matoran (sonics) due to their incredibly acute hearing which forces them to make as little noise as possible, making them stay separated from other noisy beings, but the other seem like pretty normal matoran by their descriptions. Was their some sort of event in history that made them decide to stay apart or is that simply the way they live (socially and geographically)? Or is it the Great Beings that purposely kept the matoran separate, since they're the ones who laid the foundation for Metru-Nui, and if so, why? Or does it have something to do with the Mata-Nui robot? Did they simply spread matoran throughout the robot body so they could keep it working in that particular area? But these matoran seem to live in pretty simple villages, only Metru-Nui has been proven to have a direct impact on the robot's health, and plus the most of the other southern islands have no known inhabitants to do any sort of work there. Is Metru-Nui simply not big enough to fit most of the other matoran in the universe? It seems like a pretty big city, I feel like it could hold more residents there. What do you guys think? Am I simply missing some sort of important canon material? Are matoran really racist? BTW: !!! I do realize 'racist' probably isn't the right word in this situation but the idea works for what I'm trying to say here. !!!
  14. This tiny Matoran could be a failure of Karzahni...or he could be something I threw together one night night and wanted to share. Either way, I'd love to hear what you think of my simple MOC. 15. MetaToa

    Reign of Crime

Review topic here Chapter I The Interception Nimbau walked reluctantly in the moonlit rainforest, a mile or two away from his Koro. The countenance through his dark green Kualsi showed utter defeat. He was walking back home after a long week, yet he getting there was not his top priority. He walked in a slow, meandering fashion, the silver tip of his Protosteel scythe dragging in the ground. He was walking on a large, well-trodden path that was regularly maintained. Above him was a crescent moon and a cloudless sky dotted with millions of stars. On both sides of him stood vast trees draped with curtains of vines. Babbling brooks could be heard echoing throughout the jungle. All would have seemed peaceful if one were not returning from what Nimbau was returning from. Suddenly, a cold, menacing voice came from behind him, chilling him to the core. “Hello, Toa of Air,” it said. Nimbau halted abruptly and glared at the dirt below him. He felt both sad, scared, and furious. “Can’t you guys just stay in your miserable little prison? I’m really not in the mood right now.” “I’m afraid not,” said the voice. Nimbau turned around, slowly and loathingly. As his eyes fixed themselves on his Skakdi adversary, his heart gave a rush. “You!” he shouted. He lifted his scythe. “You know what you’ve done to me?” “Oh, I know. But you should ask yourself,” said the red Skakdi: “is it fully me who did it, or yourself?” Nimbau paused before speaking. “You had the weapon,” he said. “You deserve my full wrath. And I’m going to give it to you.” Nimbau brandished his weapon and charged at the Skakdi. He whipped his scythe behind his back, aimed it at the Skakdi, and swung it back, expecting to hit him, but was instead parried by the Skakdi’s Fire Staff. The Toa of Air jumped back a few steps, then leapt onto the nearest tree branch and into the cover of darkness. A few rustles of leaves were heard, and then all was quiet. The Skakdi scanned the branches, his eyes narrowing. A few minutes passed. “You can’t hide forever, Toa,” he said with a loud, clear voice. He looked behind him and scanned the tree branches there. He progressed a few trees over and cleanly sliced through the tree with one powerful cut. A metallic ringing sounded as the Skakdi followed through. The tree wavered, hung to one side, and crashed to the ground. The Skakdi grinned and channeled a flame through his staff. “Better be quick, Toa,” he said, “or your happy little forest is going to be a whole lot less happy.” He waited for the Toa to respond. After a minute with no answer, fire erupted from his staff like lightning from the sky and the fallen tree burst into flames. It crackled and smoked as the flames greedily consumed its wood. It was not long before it was nothing more remained but a charred limb. “That was just a demonstration,” said the Skakdi. “My patience is growing slim, though. Better show your ugly little—” The Skakdi was interrupted with a piercing blow from behind him. “I have a Kualsi, ignorant Skakdi,” Nimbau snarled. The Skakdi got up, smiling menacingly. He carelessly spun his Fire Staff, a flame still licking the air at the end of the blade. “So I’ve seen,” he said. He turned around, still spinning his staff. Nimbau pounced at him, but the Skakdi abruptly turned around and knocked him to the ground with his staff. Nimbau summersaulted backwards, grabbed the staff, and knocked the Skakdi’s feet out from under him. The Toa of Air leapt up and over the Skakdi, holding him by the neck and pinning him there. The Skakdi forced Nimbau up and threw him into the tree. There was a loud thump, and Nimbau’s body was cratered into the wood. The Skakdi smashed the Toa into the tree repeatedly, each indent in the trunk and each thump sounding louder than the last. The Skakdi threw him into the tree for the third time, and it crashed into the mossy forest dirt. Nimbau was lightheaded, and his vision was blurring. He shook his head and tried to get up, but before he could, he felt the cold metal hands of the Skakdi grip firmly around his neck and slowly lift him into the air. He then heard a snarl and growl, and he found himself being thrown, where he could not tell. His vision was addled immensely; all he could see was bright lights. That was strange. He had felt sure that it was night. He crashed into something hard, but he did not care anymore. He was going to be with his teammate. Everything would be fine. If he could just slip into the darkness… “No!” he shouted suddenly, recalling abruptly what the Skakdi had done. He swung his scythe back and forth wildly, his vision not yet fully restored. He felt a sharp pain on his head, yet he would not let up. He could not let the Skakdi get away. He must keep fighting. For his team and Tanewa, he could not give in. His scythe met something hard. He found hope in this and hit it repeatedly. He heard a cry of agony and a thump. His vision slowly came back, and the red Skakdi came back into focus. He was on the ground, holding his eye. “Ready to go back to the Shadowlands?” asked Nimbau. The Skakdi turned his head violently. His right eye was missing. He growled. Nimbau raised his scythe. The Skakdi pounced. There was a flash of red, and then all went black.
  16. I've been somewhat neglecting to post things here as my Flickr account fills up, but I figured I'd make a topic for Irohka. I've been planning to do some special stuff before making the topic, but it's become apparent I won't have time. You'll still enjoy it though (I hope). I'll post Ourus a bit later (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check my Photostream below). "Toa" Irohka You should read my story given in the album (also comes with design commentary), but if you just want the summary: When Irohka's island is attacked by Dark Hunters, the few Matoran who escaped, including Irohka, modified a worker mech that they had been designing to be their first "Toa." Irohka was asked to pilot it, and the first thing he did was throw the Dark Hunters out of his village. Though many attempts have been made to get in to find a mysterious cave, Irohka has always been there to defend. Yeah, the story in the album sounds better. Quick Links: Irohka Toa Mech (Empty) Main Image Comparison Shot So, anyways, comment, critique, and enjoy, as always.
  17. There seems to be a strong lack of more in depth information about the parts tub 8713, and I'm curious because it seemed to have McToran discs, masks and body pieces, so could you potentially make the McToran sets out of it?
  18. So, recently I've been thinking about the Kestora and what they do, and I became curious regarding their origin and nature. Frankly, we know little about them, and here are the facts we know so far, according to BS01: Sapient species created by the GBsPurple and black armor (irrelevant info really)Wear Kanohi masks but cannot access the powerNo powers2 populationsCity of Silver DimensionRed StarBoth populations seem to have little regard for other lifeformsCoSD Kestora invade a city and laugh at Takanuva's faceRS Kestora are "morbidly curious" and have no problems dissecting MU beings Now, that I laid out some of the facts regarding Kestora, I would like to to present you my 3 hypothesis, which might have little evidence, but do seem to follow a pattern. Hypothesis #1: The Kestora were based on the Bone Hunters. Now, I know this sounds weird, but this is what I have in mind: the GBs seemed to base most of the species they created in the MU on an already existing species on Spherus Magna. Matoran and Toa are examples of species that the GBs created to inhabit Mata Nui. Also, while they didn't directly create the Bohrok, they surely impacted their inception and based their form on a former creation, the Baterra. Based on this, I think that the Great Beings wanted to create hardy, resilient, diminutive creatures that would be more aggressive, morbid, and able to perform the "dirtiest" job in the Universe. Since the Bone Hunters have a culture of piracy and "survival of the fittest" ideology, the GBs decided to base their morticians/undertakers (for a lack of better word) on this violent race on Spherus Magna. Hypothesis #1.5: The Kestora were based on the Skrall This one is a bit more far-fetched. Most of the reasons I gave for Kestora being based on the Bone Hunters applies to the Skrall: both species are violent, militaristic, xenophobic, etc. However, the Skrall come in as candidates as their culture is much more... "swarmish" as the workers pretty much do whatever for the greater "good". Hypothesis #2: The Kestora are Matoran prototypes. This one is my personal favorite. So lets begin. First of all, the Kestora wear masks and seem to look similar to Matoran, however they are powerless much like the Agori which they were based off of. The idea that they came before the Matoran and are their forefathers also comes from the fact that the GBs creations tend to be quite violent. Helryx, Orde, Karzahni, Zyglak (even if they were and accident), Fire Emblem, Tren Krom were all very... Cold, and seemed to have hot tempers. The Kestora are this way as well. They don't care for other life forms, and are purely focused on their tasks. My idea is that the GBs saw this, they noticed how violent and brutal this things were when they first activated them, so they decided to shove some of the population in a pocket dimension, and used the rest for a morbid task that would fit their nature. Another reason they might have abandoned them in favor for the Matoran might be due to their absentmindedness. References: BS01 (Kestora, Great Beings, Toa, Matoran, Agori, Glatorian, Skrall, Baterra, Red Star) Please read the evidence I provided for the hypothesis you wish to respond to, but if tl;dr is your case, here's the summary: #1: Kestora are based on Bone Hunters cuz they're both violent little creatures. #1.5: Kestora are based on Skrall due to the shared swarm-like mentality. #2: Kestora are Matoran prototypes and were originally based on Agori, but were replaced by Matoran as they were too morbid/violent/aggressive. Thanks for reading.
  19. I would like to bring up the topic of Matoran anatomy, namely to what extent they are organic and to what extent they are mechanical. Also, the plasticity of their bodies and armor is an interesting topic. Three Matoran are able to merge together to form one being known as a Matoran Kaita, and six Matoran are able to merge together to form a Matoran Nui. I have a theory that their armor also has a certain plastic (no pun intended) level, given the fact that in the Matoran Spheres they shrink. What do you think about this? Do you have any theories of your own regarding the anatomy of the Matoran?
  20. So, just a few confusion I've had for a while, regarding Takanuva's actions in MoL (maybe not the book, I haven't read it). In the film, Takanuva goes to confront Teridax in his lair, and, since none but the Turaga knew about Metru Nui, his only motive would have been to stop Makuta from doing all the evil and destructive things he had been doing, with an extra stake of avenging Jaller's death, plus he probably would have assumed that beating Makuta was part of his destiny. Now, maybe he was initially confident that he could beat Teridax, although it seems crazy he would want to take on a Makuta that the 6 Toa Mata could not collectively handle so soon after becoming a Toa. So, first question: 1. How much time did Takanuva/Takua wait before going to face Teridax? The film makes it seem like he went to Mangaia within like a day after becoming Takanuva, but this seems crazy to me considering that it took the Toa Metru so long to really master their new forms and powers. Sure, he would have had the Turaga and Nuva to train him up, but there's no evidence of this in the film. It'd be like going to face a game's final boss without completing the tutorial level! Now, granted, he is a Toa of Light, and so his powers are very effective against Shadow, but I understand that Shadow is likewise very effective against Light? So if the Mata/Nuva's non-opposite powers made made the fight like a fist fight, where you can usually hit your opponent a good few times before they go down, wouldn't Takanuva and Teridax's 'opposite' powers make the fight into more of a knife fight, were one good blow can mean game over for either side? I get that Takanuva is basically an anti-Makuta weapon, but surely Makuta are also anti-Takanuva weapons. It would have just heightened the stakes. I get that Makuta in general would be pretty scared that you have a new player on the field = that can basically use a metaphorical knife against them, and someone like Teridax would be much for defensive as a result, but Takanuva's Light powers were still Toa-level, and a Makuta's Elemental Shadow powers always seemed to be on a higher tier than a Toa of Shadow would be. So: 2. Why would the Brotherhood of the Makuta be particularly scared of a single Toa of Light? Really, the Makuta should, in my mind, still win in a one vs. one like 3 times out of 4, so I don't see why Takanuva was so terrifying for them in general as just one guy. Can someone justify it for me in other terms? Considering all of the above, and just general common sense considering a Makuta is a serious threat to anyone (let alone Takanuva): 3. Why the Karz did Takanuva think it was a good idea to summon ALL the Matoran into Maktua's Lair?! What if he had lost the fight? Makuta would have had the Matoran right there! Sure the Toa Nuva would have probably been fighting a battered Teridax and thus won, but it seems so irresponsible of Takanuva to risk things like that. Surely, if he was so keen to fight Makuta alone, but was still worried that he might lose, it would have more sense for him to have the Nuva on standby to finish Teridax off? Even if Teridax's plan required Takanuva to be alive for later, there was no way for Takanuva to know that. It seems like it was just a lazy way to force the Matoran to return to Metru Nui, but since Takanuva wouldn't have known about Metru Nui, I cannot think of a single good reason to get Hahli to summon the Matoran.
  21. Ok, so there are a few adventure books between Voyage of Fear and Web of the Visorak that I never read, so if my questions get answered in those, that's why I don't know them. 1. How did the Toa Metru know about the Toa Mata? I should assume Whenua read stuff about them in the Archives, so that isn't really a hard question, but I might be wrong? 2. What made the the Turaga think tell legends of that toa team only? Yeah, Vakama told legends of Lhii, but that isn't the same as prophecies of heroic toa (whom the Turaga never met, mind you) falling from the heavens. 3. How did they know what the toa would look like before they came? Again, I should think it would be part of the Archive information, but how could remember the last detail of what they look like, seeing as how, they don't appear as what the Toa Metru imagined to be toa. 4. How influential were the Toa Mata in Metru Nui? No one ever mentions them or the prophecies that they will fall from the sky at all in the 2004 saga or anything I've read of the Toa-Dark Hunter War or Kanohi Dragon Attack. However, they were idolized in Mata Nui. What gives? 5. If the Toa Stones were made to create new toa: a. How did they work in the beam from Kini Nui (the one that launched Takua in the air, giving him amnesia on Ta-Wahi beach) to reactivate the Toa Canisters? b. How did the Turaga know that would summon the Toa? c. Why didn't they do that about 1000 years before? d. Why didn't the first one Takua find turn him into Takanuva? 6. Why the Toa Mata specifically? For all they know, a destined Matoran could stumble on a Toa Stone, become a Toa, and the Turaga would be like, "Oh. Well, you're not Tahu, Kapura, so this is a bit awkward. Want to go find some masks?" Which brings me to my next question. 7. If the search for the Kanohi was meant to be tests for the Toa, then the Turaga had to expect that a toa would rise from their own people. So why bother with all this emphasis on the Mata if they weren't even expecting the Mata? And if they were expecting the Mata, why hide the masks? It's paradoxical! Ok, I think I'm done with my list of demands questions for now.
  22. Most fans who were following the story in 2001 were familiar with The Legend of Mata Nui, as the Turaga told it to the Matoran of Metru Nui who had emigrated to Mata Nui by that time. As a quick refresher, it goes somewhat like this: "In the time before time, the great spirit Mata Nui descended from the skies like a burning star, bringing we, the Matoran to this island, and gifting us with the three virtues: unity, duty, and destiny. We named this island after the great spirit himself in his honor, and it was a paradise for some time. But, Mata Nui had a brother; the dark spirit Makuta. Makuta had followed his brother to our paradise, and he was jealous of all the praise that he received from the Matoran. So, Makuta cast Mata Nui into a deep, dark sleep... There might have been a segment predicting the arrival of the Toa Mata, but it doesn't matter much to my point, as the types of words and the heavy use of simplistic metaphors is present in that section too. The legend is known for being very simplistic, greatly condensing and metaphorically describing much of what we actually know to have happened in the canon during the months preceding, during, and immediately after the Great Cataclysm. If a person were to lose all every single one of their memories, than they'd practically be an animal, with little to no human intelligence. This is regularly done on purpose to many of the droids in the Star Wars universe, and not only do they lose their memories of past events that they witnessed or learned of, they lose their abilities to read, write, talk, and assemble or disassemble even simple mechanical objects; in short, they need to be re-taught everything. If the Matoran of Metru Nui really lost every single one of their memories, than they would have very little intelligence for several months, or possibly years of their time on Mata Nui; it would depend on how long it took the Turaga to reteach every individual Matoran everything, or for the Matoran to teach themselves. During the period in between being liberated from the pods in which they were "sleeping" and having completely mastered everything that they needed to relearn, the Legend of Mata Nui story would have been useful in explaining their predicament in simple terms: basically, that there's a guy named Makuta, he's evil, and he hates you, much like a parent would do for a very young child. The Legend of Mata Nui was crafted to be very simple because Matoran with complete memory loss wouldn't be able to understand a more complex version. This could also explain why the majority of the technology on Mata Nui was many times more primitive than that of Metru Nui prior to the Great Catacylsm; the Matoran would have had to start from the most basic tools and work their way up in terms of developing new technology, which was probably further stunted when Teridax's rahi attacks began in full force. We don't know how long it took the Matoran to invent their chute system after they had begun to live in Metru Nui, but it easily could have been tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years; human civilization has been around for roughly 11,000 years, and we haven't invented a chute system for transportation just yet.
  23. Do any of you have these two parts? I would be willing to buy them or trade for them. I bought a used Makuta set at Goodwill for $3 and these were the only two parts missing. Thanks! Flat Silver Avohkii Pearl Dark Gray Technic Block
  24. I was on the Matoran Civil War page on BS01, and I noticed something about the sides. Po-Metru, Le-Metru, and Ko-Metru aligned together, while Ta-Metru, Onu-Metru, and Ga-Metru formed the other alliance. Going forward another 80,000 years or so, the Toa Metru emerge. From the outset, Onewa and Matau strongly disliked Vakama, while Nokama strongly favored him. Whenua leaned slightly towards Vakama, while Nuju leaned slightly away from him. This is exactly how the Matoran Civil War turned out, and this points to island-wide racism between the Metru, because these disagreements between the Toa started as soon as they met, which points to them being predisposed to these opinions. Thoughts on this? Other instances of this sort?
  25. This guy was the product of my collective attempts for different build structures. In the end, I pictured him being the longest living resident of Karzahni. Some aspects of the build may be used again in the future.
