  2. In the year 2001 the six Toa Mata arrived to Mata Nui to destroy the evil forces that were threatening the inhabitants of the island and now... they WILL RETURN. Using Cyan sprites from "Legend of Mata Zuto" and the cutscenes from "Legend of Mata Nui" I'm recreating the events of the "Toa Mata Saga". Trailer Follow the project on IndieDB ! Some captions:
  3. Please note this was posted in Games and Trivia with prior permission from Black 6 and Windrider. ~Kughii, 6/21/2014 Arena: A Bionicle Constructible Combat Game Core Rule system published on June 21st, 2014 by Kughii* Look for a tutorial video of the rules coming soon! ~Kughii, 6/21/2014 Turn your Bionicle MOCs into epic warriors and wage bloody combat against your foes, or work together to complete a set of goals dictated by a Game Master. Battle with and against your friends in a turn-based combat game where the powers of the six elements clash against steel, looking an opponent in the eyes often proves fatal, and kanohi can deter some of the strongest blows. Arena is a game for two to eight players and takes a minimum of ten minutes to play, though larger games will run on average thirty to forty-five minutes. Included in the .pdf digital download are the complete Core Rules, along with four basic character sheets. Currently these rules are hosted on Google Drive. You are allowed to view and download, though not edit, the .pdf. You will also need your Bionicle collection, a form of measuring distance, Lego bricks in White, Red, Yellow, and Green, and a place to play. _____ After three years and several editions I am proud to present to the BZPower.com community a set-based game for Bionicle. These rules have been an effort to create a balanced combat game where any race, any power - canon or otherwise - can exist. Although the Core Rules only offer six kanohi, six elements, and six vision powers I plan on releasing several expansions to fill in gaps. In the meantime, if there is something you want for your character simply talk with your fellow players until some agreement is made. This game is as much about creativity as the little pieces we use to build the characters involved, and I would love to see any house rules you make in the comments below, as well as photos of your characters or stories of memorable experiences. Leg godt! During the open beta at Brickcon 2013, a group of four wonderful BZPower members played several games and gave feedback. I want to thank Kakaru, Kopakanui, XCCJ, and Based Goomy for the fantastic spirit and creativity they showed during the play test. *Please note these rules, excluding any and all terms and licenses owned by The Lego Group, are free for anyone to play but they are my creative property. Do not sell these rules or otherwise use them for any commercial purpose without my express written permission. Thank you. Feel free to print out the rules for non-commercial purposes as long as credit is given where it is due.
  4. Bionicle RPG Forum Text-Based RPG Contest 31 It's that time again! Get those creative muscles flexing and make an RPG. No theme, just make whatever awesome Bionicle idea you have! Here's how these contests work: The contest will be run every four (4) months, or three (3) times a year. All members are welcome to enter the contest. Each member can only enter one (1) Text-based RPG entry. The only exception to this is that RPG Contest staff will not be permitted to make entries. There will be three winners selected in every contest. The winners will be the three RPGs with the most votes after one or more rounds of voting (depending on the number of entries).Whether or not a given RPG wins or not, it will be allowed to run in future contests, with the below conditions and restrictions. For and RPG that lost a contest, the creator must make an attempt to alter and improve their entry before entering it in the next contest. If an RPG has won four (4) consecutive contests that it has entered, it can not enter the next four contests. It does not, however, have to be altered before being entered again after its break, although the creator can do so if they desire to.Example: A RPG wins two contests in a row. It is not entered in the next contest. It is entered and wins the fourth and fifth contests. At this point it cannot be entered into the next four contests.Other restrictions as a result of other rules or administrative action may prevent a member from submitting an RPG.At the end of the four-month interval between contests, if an active RPG does not win again, it will be closed. If a former winner wins again at a later date, the creator of the RPG can choose to continue in the old topic where they left off or start over again in a new topic. If the creator or members of a winning RPG break the RPG forum rules, that RPG will be closed. The next runner-up from the previous contest will be allowed to run for the remainder of the term. The offending RPG will not be allowed to participate in the next contest. If a winning RPG has no new posts for three weeks, that RPG will be closed. The next runner-up from the previous contest will be allowed to run for the remainder of the term.TBRPG Entries The following is what determines a Text-Based RPG entry. The creator of each entry must provide at least: A brief introduction to the RPG.A description of the setting - the time and place the events occur.A history of what has happened leading up to the current situation. The characters and creatures involved. Does this take place in the canonical Bionicle Universe, or is this your own island with its own heroes and villains?A description on how you plan to further to story.Does it follow the actual Bionicle story or take place in a setting of your own creation? Is there an outline on where you plan for it go?Will the players be allowed to choose the direction the story takes? Is there an ultimate goal or quest, or is it merely a world for members to inhabit?Requirements for those wishing to participate in your RPG.Will members be taking the role of existing characters or characters you have created? Can they make their own characters? If so, what sort of restrictions will be placed on them? What sort of equipment, masks, stats, etc will members get when they begin?Rules determining how players will interact with the environment and other characters. How will the winner of battles be determined? How will members buy and upgrade their equipment? Will members level up? How will they gain experience? The above information can be submitted however the creator prefers. It does not have to be delineated in this way, as long as it is all there. Contest Procedures Here is the format the contest will operate under: Members will have approximately three weeks to draft and submit entries.Entries will be posted in the Contest Submission thread. 6. So, a couple of old friends of mine are in town this weekend. I've known one since my earlier school days and the other is his girlfriend (and they are adorable <3). Anyway, all day today, he, his dad, his girlfriend and his dad's old friends played D&D. I had to work, but I joined in this afternoon once my shift ended. The recap I got went something like this: All characters started in a forest, and after searching around, they found only one single town in the entire area with a castle. The castle was mean and did not offer any lodging, so they went to an inkeep, who took them in reluctantly after they mentioned they were broke. So, he was angry, but whatever free lodging, and then they learned about a cave system from the locals where adventurers would enter, but never return from. So, naturally, they all decided to loot the place and explore. Then they got some treasure and paid the inkeep their bill and kept going back for no reason other than to survive. They fought an Ogre and a horde of goblins and won, and when I came in, my character (as played by his girlfriend who is awesome at keeping three characters alive) was injured slightly. So, I started the game when we went to a chapel to get healed by acolytes. Then we went into the caves again and explored, found some treasure in the Goblin Leader's room (they beat the Goblin Leader earlier) and then I used my infrared vision (as I was a half-elf warrior) to scout ahead to check if anyone was coming. After a while of this, we ran into eight gnomes who shared some information about the unexplored corridors ahead among other things. They were interested in using the caves (which had many dead ends) for mining, as they thought the cave system we were in showed signs of being mined previously. They mentioned around forty hobgoblins ahead past a secret door, and they heard them coming so they started to run away, so we started to run away, but we weren't fast enough to outrun the hobgoblins. Anyway, we could outrun the gnomes, but we decided to stay and fight the hobgoblins in order to help save the gnomes. The gnomes decided to stick with us and help us battle. One I named Sir Puff n' Stuff of Fluff and Stuff, who sadly was killed shortly after his naming. The other, Sir Pointy, was an archer who climbed upon my shoulders and fired arrows at the enemies as I swung my battle axe and took out two hobgoblins with ease. Then I spent forever trying to kill the Leader of the Hobgoblins who had super thick armor and required a roll of sixteen or higher on a twenty sided die to hit. I managed to get two hits in while Sir Pointy slowly but surely chipped him away with arrows. Eventually the other members of my party and the remaining gnomes finished off the other hobgoblins (eight males and four females total), and we won. The six living gnomes celebrated as I commented "You know two of you died, right?" Anyway, we ended the day there after looting what we could. We came back the next day to find the Leader of the Hobgoblin's body and one of the females was missing. A trail was left behind in the dungeon, and we followed it to a corner of an empty room. After finding a hidden door, we found two circular rooms. One had a giant bag of seven treasures in it and in the other one there was apparently a bear. After looting the first room, I investigated the supposed bear with my Bullseye Lantern and discovered it was merely a bear pelt which was used by the Hobgoblin Leader as a blanket. Anyway, the trail led outside to another cave opening. We decided to exlpore another end of the caves which we didn't get to before, but as we were leaving, we heard voices coming from the newly discovered cave entrance. Things like "Where is this trail coming from?" I suggested we use the bear pelt as a disguise to scare them back outside of the cave. Surprisingly it worked, and we caught a glimpse of them running away. Five humans. Two with leather armor, three with plate mail. (I was all "rawr!" and they were all "BEEEEAAAAAR!!!" Good times). So after that we explored and looted the cave further after we made sure we were not followed. After returning to town, we learned rumors of a traveling priest who was very charismatic and well received by the town. Everyone but a local Cleric, that is, who got a bad vibe. The priest always traveled with two acolytes in chain mail and supposedly traveled with travelers to the caves. Only the priest and acolytes returned, and the adventurers were never seen again. After that, I sold a keg of brandy to a bartender (I got it from the circular room) for 55 gp. He originally offered 50, but I haggled, despite one of my teammates urging me to just take the 50. Unfortunately I have work tomorrow, so that's as far as I got, which is a shame because we just got into the plot. Anyway, for my first time playing, it was fun! Very imaginative, and I like how the game is mapped out. The only thing is the game pacing is slow and leveling up seems like it would take weeks of playing. GET OFF MY DUNGEON! ~Tekulo <3

  8. Outbreak [Discussion][Profiles] Report of Commander Malik To General Kopaka of The Atero Nuian Republic From Metru Nuva First and foremost, I apologize for not being able to send in my report on Metru Nuva sooner, like you asked me to. An unnatural storm enveloped the island shortly after I arrived here a week ago, and only let up for a short time so I could send this message. Upon arrival, the city appeared to be deserted. I ordered my men to set up base in the Ba-Metru sector of the city, and sent them out to investigate. Quickly, they discovered what had happened in the city, and reported back to me. We readied for a fight, as what they reported was grim. My men had discovered that nearly all of the cities inhabitants had been mutated horribly, being crossed with what appeared to be Rahkshi. In this horrendous form, each of the mutants has access to one Kraata power, of a medium level of strength. There appears to be but one survivor. My men were patrolling Bo-Metru, when the noticed a large figure. Upon further inspection, they realized that it was a being in a modified Exo-Toa. They approached, and began conversation. However, a large number of mutants attacked, and the being stayed behind to hold them off. However, a strange radio broadcast has begun to sound out from Ki-Metru. This was before the Survivor was encountered, and he stated he was not the source. I have ordered my men to locate the source of the broadcast, but they have not been successful. The signal is not strong, and all that can be determined is incoherent mumbling. We do not know what is being said. Plot Summary: A battalion of soldiers arrived to an island city to investigate a distress signal sent out. When the arrived, they found out the island was crawling with aggressive, Rahkshi-like beings. They are filled with a desire to spread their virus, and do so via biting. Past Events: AMN stands for after Mata Nui. It is currently 10 AMN. -[0 AMN] Pohatu and Kopaka were taken off the Red Star by a reincarnated Botar, along with a few other dead members of the Order of Mata Nui, who wanted to make sure that their organization was fine, and wanted to support it. Hydraxon is best friends with himself. -[0 AMN] Velika blew up the fortress. Everyone inside died. -[0 AMN] However, the Great Being instantly came back to life, as his power gave him unintended immortality, due to the fact he was always in contact with himself. By touching the others in the fortress, he revived them as well. -[0 AMN] After freeing the Great Being from his curse, the inhabitants of the fortress decided to hunt down their killer. After finding Velika and interrogating him, Miserix killed the Great Being in disguise. -[0 AMN] Orde, Zaria, Gelu and Chiara allowed themselves to be captured, and then broke free. They found the machine inhibiting their powers, and destroyed it. They then fled from Bota Magna, heading to where they had received their mission. -[1 AMN] Marendar successfully killed three Toa. A group of Skakdi, however, saw the killings, and decided to take revenge on the murderer. Marendar was only programmed to defeat Toa, and as such did not register the Skakdi as threats. This helped to change the public view of Skakdi, from murderers to somewhat respectable beings. -[2 AMN] In a further attempt to help their public view, the Skakdi allowed for the five Toa Mahri to be freed. However, the Mahri saw how the Skakdi people were not evil, and opted to stay with them, and help form the nation of Zakaz Nuva. -[4 AMN] The Toa Nuva formed a new nation, which they called The Atero Nuian Republic. It is the most powerful nation on Spherus Magna, and has the capital of Atero Nui, a new city built meant to honor the past of both the Glatorians and the MU inhabitants. -[5 AMN] The team that fought the Bota Magna Vorox levied support against the intelligent Vorox in The Atero Nuian Republic. War was waged against them, from which the Republic emerged victorious. The war ended in 8 AMN. -[7 AMN] Light Teridax and Miserix work together to form the Northern States, a generally neutral nation focused on scientific advancement and experimentation. -[8 AMN] An island state in the Great Sea is founded by the Atero Nuian Republic, modeled after Metru Nui. It is christened Metru Nuva. Locations Metru Nuva: The island of Metru Nuva is artificial, and was made as a homage to the city of Metru Nui, in the Aqua Magnan sea. It has the same layout, but the actual elements of the different Metrus are different. In clockwise order, starting with what was Ga-Metru on Metru Nui, the Metrus are Ce-Metru, Ki-Metru, Ba-Metru, Vi-Metru, Bo-Metru and finally Fe-Metru. Each of the Metrus had a dedicated purpose. The Atero Nuian troops arrived to Ba-Metru, in the south. Ce-Metru: The northernmost Metru on Metru Nuva, Ce-Metru consists of buildings with a large floor space, but only one or two floors on average. It is filled with laboratories and schools. Most of the laboratories are in good condition, but one has been completely ransacked. For unknown reasons, it has a very large mutant concentration. Ki-Metru: The Crystal district consists of large, grassy parks, and tall skyscrapers made of different shades of lightly colored crystals. Ki-Metru is very beautiful, and as such it was chosen to be the primary residential district. Due to the fact that there were many, many citizens living in this Metru, it has a large amount of Rahkshi in it. Ba-Metru: The Metru of Gravity was where the soldiers landed when the reached. Before the outbreak of the virus, it was used for the construction of gravity manipulating vehicles, and it’s buildings were large hangars that were spread out. The soldiers have cleared it of a large majority of mutants, and are guarding the borders. They have also converted several hangars in the center of the Metru into barracks for themselves. Vi-Metru: The Metru of Lightning was used for it’s expected purpose - that of power generation. Vi-Metru consists largely of power generation, and as such is mostly small buildings clustered around larger ones. Several different forms of power generation are used, such as solar, hydroelectric and several others. Vi-Metru scares the mutants, and as such they avoid it. Bo-Metru: Large, spaced out domes are the landscape in Bo-Metru. Inside these domes are lush forests and farms, which are used for the dual purposes of growing plants and raising animals. Bo-Metru was used for food production in Metru Nuva, as Matoran and other races began the habit of eating with their mouths, as that was how Glatorian ate. The mutants enjoy it here, and it has a high population of them. Fe-Metru: Large spans of desert, lined with canyons are the landscape in Fe-Metru. Lining the canyon walls are many caves, in which small workshops have been set up. Typically, a single production plant occupies one canyon, but smaller businesses do group together in a shared canyon. Mutants populate the surface of this Metru, but do not enter the canyons. Factions: The Atero Nuian Army: The official army of the Atero Nuian Republic, the army is five hundred strong and has arrived to Metru Nuva to investigate what has happened there. Weapon selection varies widely among soldiers, with each soldier being able to decide upon which they will use. Malik is the Commander of the battalion, and leads it from their base in Bo-Metru. He does not go out into the fight often, but when he does, he the strongest fighter in the battalion, due to the fact he is a Toa, with extreme elemental powers and combat training. Each member of the Army typically wears a dark black uniform marked with the symbol for the Three Virtues on either shoulder. Out of fear of the virus being air born, the soldiers were gas masks. The general design is a glass panel in front of the face, with a breathing apparatus at mouth level. Currently, the soldiers only have the few resources they could scavenge in Bo-Metru and what they brought with them. They are scavenging for more in the other Metrus, particularly Ba-Metru, although they are met with great resistance by the mutants. Goals: -Scavenge more food from other Metrus. -Find the Survivor and bring him back to base. -Locate the Leader and determine why it is different. -Find the radio broadcast in Ki-Metru. -Determine what caused the outbreak and where the virus came from. -Work on a cure for the virus. The Mutants: The mutants used to be a wide, diverse selection of races, but now they are all one. They currently resemble Rahkshi, but have some differences. The first is that they walk around on all four legs, and lack a spine. While mutated, they lose all intelligence and access to powers they might have had while unaffected. Instead, they gain one Rahkshi power of Level 4. They have a sole-minded devotion to spreading the virus, which is spread through bites. They are not playable. Their primary advantage is numbers. Important NPCs: Name: Commander Malik Species: Male Ko-Toa Equipment: Malik typically carries four small weapons - two ice picks, and two hatchets. He alternates between his use of the weapons as a pair, or one of each. He prefers to use the hatchets in combat. They confer no special abilities, other than the ability to channel his powers through them. Personality: Malik is like many other members of his element, being cold and impersonal. He is a rigid authority to the battalion, and rarely shows emotion in front of his troops. When not on a mission, however, he is rather friendly and open, unlike the normal vision of a Ko-Toa. Powers and Skills: Malik is a master of his element, that of ice. He can create ice and snow, manipulate the temperature, and can control existing ice and snow. He has had several thousand years to master his powers. In addition, as a Toa, he has a Kanohi mask. Malik wears the Pakari. His Kanohi grants Malik the ability to greatly increase his strength to high levels, allowing him to lift objects he normally would not and make attacks with greater impact. In addition, he has a scope affixed to his mask that allows for telescopic and heat vision. Appearance: Malik stands tall for even a Toa, and has a slender figure. His armor is colored light grey, with bright blue highlights. His eyes and heartlight are a light green coloration. The Pakari he wears resembles a Sanok, and has a small scope over his right eye. Background: Malik is one of the oldest beings from the Matoran universe, being one of the first Toa made. He patrolled what was the left leg of Mata Nui for nearly all of his life, leaving for events such as the Toa-Dark Hunter war in Metru Nui, and other large gatherings of Toa. Malik was responsible for helping inhabitants of the Matoran Universe evacuate it after Makuta had been defeated, and did not participate in any battles. He defused tensions between the Bara Magnans and the former inhabitants of the Matoran Universe. When the Atero Nuian Republic founded, Malik wanted to be on the front lines of any battle, and to be a leader in the army. After Kopaka was appointed General, he gave Malik the position of Commander. Malik led forces against the Bota Magna Vorox, and led his soldiers to victory. Weakness: Malik unparalleled in combat. Name: The Survivor Species: Male, Unknown Equipment: The Survivor uses a modified Exo-Toa in combat and for his protection. On the left arm of the Exo-Toa there is a laser-firing minigun. The right arm is unmodified. On the back there is an energy katana. On top of the right shoulder there is a small rocket barrage. Personality: Desperate, and willing to do anything to survive. The Survivor has not left his Exo-Toa suit for slightly over a week, out of fear of infection by the virus. He is the last uninfected citizen of Metru Nuva. He was very warm and friendly to the squad that encountered him. Powers and Skills: It is unknown what specific powers the Survivor has, as his Exo-Toa suit inhibits any use of them, if he had any. However, he is very proficient with his Exo-Toa suit, and can use it to decimate swarms of the Rahkshi mutants. In the suit, he can take down many of the mutants. Appearance: The actual appearance of the Survivor is unknown, as his Exo-Toa suit encloses him completely. The suit looks like a normal suit, but it has been modified slightly by the Survivor, namely the laser minigun instead of the cannon, and the rocket barrage on the soldier. Background: The Survivor was encountered in Bo-Metru on a regular patrol. The squad that saw him approached him, and found him to be friendly. They began to talk about the status of the island, and about what had happened. The Survivor revealed he was the sender of the distress signal. However, this meeting was not to last. Within minutes of meeting the Survivor, a massive mob of mutants attacked, at the rear of which was a strange mutant that didn't resemble anything the squad had seen. The Survivor ordered the squad to run, as he could hold off the mass of mutants. Weakness: The Survivor cannot use any powers in the Exo-Toa suit. Name: The Leader Species: Ye-Mutant (Poison), Unknown Gender Equipment: The Leader carries a Rahkshi Staff of Poison. How it acquired this Staff is unknown, but it wields it as a weapon and to enhance its Rahkshi Powers, which it can use without wielding the staff. The bottom end of the staff has been broken off, making it resemble a spear. Personality: The Leader is incredibly hostile to all members of the Army, but is not the stupid beast like the rest of the mutants. It is smarter, and appears to be a strategic genius. It is unknown how it is more intelligent, but it appears to be in charge of the mutants. Powers and Skills: A further distance from the rest of the mutants is the Kraata power that the Leader controls. Its control of Poison is at level 6, being able to make any being severely and dangerously ill with physical contact. In addition, it seems to be incredibly intelligent. Appearance: The Leader appears different from the rest of its weaker minions by being taller, and walking on two legs instead of on four. Its armor is a black with green highlights, and its eyes are red. It is easy to spot as being different from the rest of the mutants, and is unique in appearance. Background: The Leader first appeared directing the horde that attacked the Survivor. The few soldiers who had encountered the Leader saw it in the back of the horde, seemingly issuing commands to the rest of the mutants. In the Leader's presence, the mutants focused on the Survivor, not the soldiers. Weakness: Nobody has actually fought the Leader in close quarters combat. Rules and Punishments All BZPRPG and BZP rules are in effect here. Do not godmod, autohit, bunny or metagame. This and the rule above it are pretty standard. Respect any and all GMs. I, Canis, am the main GM. Zakaro is the assistant GM. Use IC for in character posts, and OOC for out of character posts. Also, please keep OOC to a minimum in the gameplay topic. No OOC only posts in the gameplay topic at all. Keep romance and comedy down to a minimum. This is war, not a bad sitcom or comedy. Toa, Makuta, and Botar’s species are banned. To put it simply, they are all absurdly powerful. In addition, they are all very rare at this point in the in game story. Please use proper spelling and grammar in your posts. It's not that hard. The mutants are not weak. Do not thrash them about like they are nothing. All profiles must be approved by staff. This is to ensure that you don't have overpowered characters. Have fun! Punishments: Punishments will only happen with the more serious rules. Breaking Rule Ten or the less serious rules will not be a Strike. 1st Strike: You get a public warning. 2nd Strike: One of your characters is seriously injured. 3rd Strike: All of your characters are seriously injured. One is killed. 4th Strike: All your characters save one are killed. The last is seriously injured. 5th Strike: Your last character is killed. You are banned from the game. Thank you for playing, and have fun! -Canis

  11. This is the Mess Hall - the place for any out of game discussion or talking. If you have something to say OOC, post it here, not there. Also, this is where you post any profiles you have for approval. Use the following guidelines and profile. Profiles: You may have up to three profiles, but please try to keep the number of recurring NPCs down to a minimum - there are not many military forces on the island at the moment. You may frequently mention someone who is not in the army on the island, and there is no restriction on them In addition, Crystal is open for use by all PCs that can use an element or have an affinity to one. One will not need special approval for their element if they decide to use this element. The prefix for Crystal is Ki. Typical armor colors are pastels and whites.

  14. Approved by Spink Credit to Fantasia at Shattered Mask Productions The Ninjago RPG Excerpts from Jay’s Journal Nearly a year after the defeat of the Overlord: The strangest thing happened today. I was in Ninjago City buying some final supplies for the academy when the sky grew dark. A whirlpool formed in the clouds, focused around the tallest building in the city. Then, from the center of the whirlpool came a bright purple orb. As I looked at it, it appeared there were five shapes in it. The orb flew off, and the skies brightened. A few days after the last entry: Today, The Academy of the Ninja opened, on the same grounds the Monastery once stood. Everyone was there, and many students applied immediately. The five of us ninja will be busy over the next few days. One month after the opening of The Academy of the Ninja: So much has happened in the last few days. We know who the five figures I saw in the orb are. They are evil versions of us five ninja: Lloyd, Kai, Cole, Zane and me. The evil Lloyd, (who calls himself Lord Garmadon) stole Darreth’s crown and united the Skulkin, Serpentine and Stone Army against us. Luckily for us, we aren’t alone. This is where you come in. You will take on the role of a student at The Academy of the Ninja or a member of the Serpentine Tribes, and your enemies. Rules (Credit to Peabody Sam for writing these in Dino Attack. Mostly copy & pasted from there.) Rules are important to the survival of this RPG. Breaking them will result in penalties depending on which rule and how severely it was broken. 1. All BZP rules are in effect here. This means no spamming, no flaming, etc. 2. Do not kill official LEGO Characters. It's alright if you kill your own made-up characters, but if Kai or Sensei Wu dies, I'm going to ask you to change your post. 3. Keep violent descriptions down to minimal. Instead of typing "IC: Swing, swing, swing! He swung his sword at the Serpentine just for fun, and laughed as he saw its guts spill out onto the street!", write "IC: He swung his weapon at the Serpentine, whose life came to an abrupt end." 4. Do not kill other players' characters without their consent. 5. Trainee Ninja are limited to the Ninja Glider. Trainee Serpentine to the Snake Cart, and Standard Ninja and Serpentine are limited to the vehicles outlined in the class section. Any rank can use the vehicles of a rank below them. Elements can never use vehicles of other elements or the vehicles of other factions. Unless my consent is given, they may not use any other vehicle. The same goes for powers. Trainee are limited to Spinjitzu or Fang-Kwon-Do 6. No God Modding. If your character leaps across a fifty-mile canyon, or defeats two hundred Stone Swordsmen single-handedly without breaking a sweat, that's G-Modding. Don't do it. It makes the RPG less challenging. 6a. There appears to be a bit of confusion over the term 'G-Modding'. In this context, 'G-Modding' refers to giving your character ridiculous abilities. Apparently, another definition of 'G-Modding' is controlling other people's characters. The former is what's not allowed, but the latter is allowed in this RPG. Guidelines (Credit to Dino Attack.) Guidelines are like the rules. However, breaking of the guidelines only results in a warning. 1. Instead of adding more PMs to our inbox, if you've got something you want to tell me about this RPG, do so in your post. That’s why the "OOC" part of the post exists. 2. Use "IC" when In Character (describing what your character is doing in-universe) and "OOC" when Out Of Character (to talk and discuss with other BZP members). This way, it is less confusing for other members to read your posts. For example:"OOC: I bought a 9450 Epic Dragon Battle on eBay yesterday!IC: Kai spun around in his Blade Cycle. He dodged the Serpentine Mech, and began to plan a solution to defeat the robot." 3. Please know that at times I can be extremely busy and cannot always attend this RPG. This means that we may not add your character's profile to the character list as soon as you post it. If we have not added your character's profile, do not, repeat, DO NOT hassle us or PM us to get it added. Patience is a virtue, you know, and although I admit that I lack patience, I hope you have some instead. Be considerate. 4. Do not PM your profile to me. Post it here instead. 5. If possible, make your posts medium-length. Epics are not required for each post, but posts with one or two in-character sentences don't add much to the RPG. This RPG tries to see how well you and other members can interact and take control of the story; while this can be achieved through short posts, it take far less time with medium-length posts. 6. If you are planning to leave this RPG, please let us know in advance so we may take your profile down from the character list. If you're only going on break, tell us so that I do not take down your profile. 7. Keep interaction with other LEGO themes down to minimal. It's alright if your character has backgrounds in another theme, that’s okay, but keep it as simple as that. 8. For most vehicles are they are the size of the set. The only exceptions are the Destiny’s Bounty and the Serpentine Bus, these are the size in the show. Try to keep your vehicle real. Don’t just suddenly be in it or have it appear out of nowhere. Physically he looks like Lloyd, but with black hair, pale skin and red eyes. He controls Shadow instead of Light, and dresses in purple instead of green. Shadow can do all of the things that Light can, but is purple. Lord Garmadon posses all four dark elements, and knows the Dark Dragon Fighting style. The Serpentine Kings: Originally the Serpentine Generals, they have received a new title from the new Lord Garmadon. Their Snake powers are the greatest of any Serpentine. The informal leader of the group is Skales, and the lesser members are Acidicus, Fangtom and Skalidor. Each carries a Snake Staff that shows their leadership over their tribe. The Five Ninja: The original ninja, Lloyd, Zane, Cole, Jay, and Kai. Each controls one element. They all teach their respective element at The Academy of the Ninja. Lloyd wears his Green Ninja outfit for casual wear, and his golden suit for battle. For more, go to the Ninjago Wiki. Nya: Samurai X. She now a weapon teacher at The Academy. If need be, she will enter the Samurai X mech again. She knows spinjitzu, but she keeps this a secret. No body knows this, not even the ninja. She also acts as the tour guide for tours around The Academy. Important Locations: The Academy of the Ninja: A school founded dedicated to the art of the ninja. It was built on the remains of the Monastery. It serves as the main base for the ninja and teaches students on stealth, mastery of their element and the art of weaponry. Forest of Tranquility: An average forest that contains a rare element: Relaxum. This element calms one down incredibly, and is being mined by the united armies. It is unknown why Lord Garmadon’s forces want it. To prevent the mining, the Fire Temple has been turned into a citadel controlled by ninja. Ninjago City: The largest city in all of Ninjago. The ninja bought the entire building that their fancy apartment had been located in, and have turned it into a branch of the Academy, where important ceremonies occur and Elite ninja live. Ouroboros: The city of Ouroboros has been completely renovated by Lord Garmadon. It has modern buildings, many walls and defenses. This is the opposite of the Academy: It is the base of the united armies. At the center, where there was once a Slither Pit, stands Lord Garmadon’s palace. The Five Tombs: The five Serpentine tombs have been converted into bases for the united armies. They have electricity and modern comforts. All are heavily guarded and nearly impossible to break into. Hypobrai entrance is located in the Nothern Provinces, and is the laboratory for the united armies. All of the tombs have been linked together, making one giant base. The Caves of Despair: The forces of the evil Lloyd Garmadon are mining a special, practically indestructible metal called Inumium here. To stop the mining, a section of the cave was converted into a fortress. It is very easy to get lost here, and many poisonous creatures lurk in darkness, so you must always have light and a map here. The Nothern Provinces: A barren, frozen wasteland, this is the location of a major battle site. The ninja control the Ice Fortress, where the Shruikens of Ice were found, and the Serpentine have a tomb here. The ninja are trying here to prevent the expirements that the united armies are performing in the Hypnobrai tomb. The Nothern Provinces are off limits to Trainee Ninja and Serpentine Scouts. The Dark Island: The Dark Island is infested with Skulkin, Serpentine and Stone Soldiers. Many cities populate the island, all controlled by the united armies. The forces of evil are mining Dark Matter here, and are refining it. Refined Dark Matter gives one red eyes and pale skin. The only base the ninja have is the Mountain of Light. The mountain that contains the Temple of Light has been turned into a huge fortress. The battles that rage here are very dangerous, so the Dark Island, like the Northern Provinces is off limits to Trainee Ninja or Serpentine Scouts. The Sea of Sand: The second largest location out of all of them, only rivaled by the Dark Island. The Sea of Sand is the blandest of all the areas, merely a desert. What it contains is of note, however. The city of Ouroboros, Ed n' Edna's Scrapyard, the Mountain of a Thousand Steps and the Anacondrai Tomb can all be accessed here. Also, dotted across the sand are many ruins. Factions: The United Armies: After arriving in our universe, Lord Garmadon stole the Helm of Darkness and took control of the Stone Army. He united the Skulkin and Serpentine together with the Stone Army to take over the world. Vehicles of separate factions are generally used only by their respective faction. The Skulkin are living skeletons that come from the Underworld. They have the ability to use elemental powers of the original four elements equivalent to Standard Ninja power. The Serpentine have four different powers: The Fangpyre, turn objects into snakes with a bite; Hypnobrai, mind control enemies; Constrictai, burrow through the ground and Venomari, make enemies hallucinate. The Stone Army are nearly indestructible warriors made out of rock that can only be defeated with elemental powers. The Ninja: The original four ninja has built an Academy to train future ninja. They are the main opposition against the United Armies, as the country of Ninjago abolished it's army many years ago, as there were no opposing sides in any war. At the Academy, there are five different choices of elements: Fire, Earth, Lightning, Ice and Light. Sign Up: If you want to study at the Academy and defend Ninjago, fill out this form. You may have three (3) PCs, and as many NPCs as you want. I recommend you have at least one ninja and one Serpentine. Your PCs have to be ninja or Serpentine, but your NPCs can be samurai, average citizens, Skulkin or Stone Warriors. If one of your characters dies, then you can create a new one. You have the story, you have the enemy, and you have the setting. Go out, and defend Ninjago.
  15. Bionicle RPG Forum Text-Based RPG Contest 30 After a slight hiatus, the Bionicle RPG contest has returned! After taking some feedback into consideration, we've made some tweaks to the rules. The big change is that there will be three contests per year now instead of four. Look for the other changes in bold text below. Aside from that, there's no theme for this contest, to submit anything you'd like! Here's how these contests work: The contest will be run every four (4) months, or three (3) times a year. All members are welcome to enter the contest. Each member can only enter one (1) Text-based RPG entry. The only exception to this is that BZPRPG and RPG Contest staff will not be permitted to make entries. Any entries posted elsewhere or PMed will be disregarded. At the end of this period, no further entries will be accepted. The entries will be grouped into as few polls as possible for the initial round of voting. Each round of voting will last for two to three days (48-72 hours). The format of subsequent rounds of voting will be determined depending on the number of entries. The three entries with the most votes in the final round of voting will be declared the winners.Any questions can be posted in the Contest Rules Thread or PMed to Contest Host Black Six. NOTE - All current TBRPGs must be submitted as entries if they wish to continue running. Entries can be SUBMITTED from now until 11:59 PM EST on Wednesday, January 22nd. 21. Multiversal Collision The universe is vast, ever-changing, eternally expanding. It encompasses many worlds, untold locations, and places in the darkest frontiers never explored by any being. It has long been considered the final frontier, space the one region left to be explored. But there is not just one universe. There are countless alternate realms, realms similar and dissimilar to each other, alike in so many ways, but differing in small, incremental amounts. The system by which they are organized is unknown to most, but it is truly simplicity itself. The closer two universes are together, the more similar they are. Realms side by side will only differ in small respects, in the beginning, at least. As time goes on they will change more and more, until finally, they look nothing alike. Big things have small beginnings, after all. But each world is created in the same way. When a choice occurs in one world, whenever a fork in the road approaches, each world takes its path. But that other path will be taken by a second realm, created in that exact instant. There are infinite worlds, but they are isolated. They are kept apart, never to touch, never to come into contact with each other. We may know of their existence, but we will never reach them. Walls unseen keep us away. Parallel worlds were doomed to remain a theory, unable to be proven, no matter how sure humanity was. Until now. *********************************************************** Three months ago, four worlds were altered forever. Four of the oldest, four of the most different realms anyone could ever find. They differed long, long ago, and any similarities between them are long gone. They had gone through their timelines unaware of the others, unaware that everything was about to change. It had happened too quickly to react. One moment, everything was normal. The next, the sky had been ripped asunder by lightning, and frightening vortexes of color incomprehensible to the mortal mind. The noise was deafening as the planet itself was ripped apart, the ground shook, the wind raced, the very elements of reality turned against each other. When the dust settled, they knew that things would never be the same again. Their world was no longer there. They had been transported, along with a section of unknown size from their world, somewhere else. And they weren't the only ones. Three other times, three other places, had been brought with them, smashed and crushed together into a shape they were never meant to occupy. Things would never be the same. But at the same time, things hadn't changed. As the inhabitants of these worlds gathered their wits, they realized that they hadn't moved. Nothing had moved. Their worlds still inhabited the same place they always had, but they were cut off from the rest of their realm. Where a bridge might once have connected one side of a river to the next, it now connected to another place entirely. Their worlds had collided almost seamlessly. Where one ended, another began. But it did not end there. New worlds have continued arriving since the initial event, integrated seamlessly into this new realm without warning, heralded only by another deafening sound as another crack formed in the fabric of reality. No one knew how they had arrived, or what these other realms were. Some have chosen to explore, and accept this new reality. Others seek to return to the way they were, and find a way to go home. Others have continued on in the same way they were, fighting against each other, incorporating these new places into decades-old struggles. And yet more have decided to use these changes for profit and personal gain. After all. Humanity never changes, -Gameplay- Welcome to Multiversal Conflict. In case you hadn't guessed from the introduction, this game is set in a place where alternate realities have inexplicably collided, bringing together places and societies that have never known of each other's existence until now. These worlds are radically different, in all possible ways. There are four worlds included at the outset of the game, but more may be added as time goes on (See "New World Approval" below}. This game is very, very sandbox. There will be plot elements introduced by the staff, but it is largely up to you to decide how things go. Will you try and correct the damage done to these realities? Will you try and rule them all? Or do you simply wish to explore? -The Setting- The four realms have merged into one world almost seamlessly. Where one ends, another begins. As new worlds are added this trend will continue, with the new world being dropped into position and expanding the landscape. But I suppose you want to know what you're dealing with. Earth Earth is the land most like our own home, but it is not quite as we remember it. This is our world, circa 1940. The world is at war, and this region is no exception. Largely forested, with dense urban populations near the center, this is a world prepared for war. The region is coastal, as it always has been, but rather than the Atlantic Ocean, it borders the channel separating them from the Dominion of Britain. Earth is a force to be reckoned with, despite its somewhat antiquated technology. It's leader, the mayor of the largest city, is wary of the other realms, but retains a sense of curiosity. The largest city is small by modern standards, but it is equipped with factories and shipyards capable of cranking out equipment at a rapid rate. Unlike some of the other realms, its populace has not been caught off guard. After all, they were already prepared for war. Now it's just a different one. Earth borders both the Dominion of Britain, and Erde. It is separated from the former by a large channel, and the latter by a wide river. Earth's leadership has been in the most contact with the Dominion of Britain, seeing them as a familiar ally in an unknown land. There is one very, very curious thing about this land, however. For unknown reasons, magic users are hardpressed to use their skills here. It has been speculated by some that this is due to a lack of naturally occurring magic, but no one knows for sure. Regardless of the reason, magic is much harder to perform, require more energy, and all but restricting the use of any complex uses. (Note: This is more or less Earth in the 1940s. Use tech levels accordingly.) Terra Terra is the most technologically advanced civilization present, without equal in that regard. Their cities are immaculately maintained, and medical technology is advanced enough to cure all but the most severe illnesses, and heal all but the most grievous wounds. Even the technology in their daily lives is light years ahead of everyone else, with biotechnology and mental interfaces no longer the realm of science fiction, but fact.Interactive holographic displays are common, and brain implants are common among the more wealthy citizens. Smartphones are antiques, and tablets a thing of the past. However, this is the least politically stable of the realms. For within this apparently utopian society, the seeds of discord have been sown. The region only ended a long civil war weeks before the event that brought these realms together, and there are those within it that seek to use this change of setting to reignite that war, and change the outcome in their favor. Weapons technology is very, very advanced, with the best example being the Valkyrie System armor. So named by the inventor, it is powered armor that takes many, many forms. The original models were reminiscent of the valkyries of Norse mythology, winged, and with a similarly fantastic armor design, thus leading to the name. Though not all take this form any longer, it is still one of the most common designs. These armors and trhe technologies associated with them are usually mass produced, but skilled pilots have been known to have custom models. The weaponry of this world is highly destructive, and as such, all realms are leery of allowing them to war amongst themselves again. However, the scientifically inclined society is baffled by magic, and cannot figure out how to replicate, counter, or combat it effectively. The two formerly warring factions have but one thing in common; an innate curiosity over anything magical in nature. The war between the two started decades prior, and few truly care about the difference in philosophy that caused it anymore. The atrocities committed by both sides have made it personal, and the two capital cities are eternally at odds. Erde Erde took the strangest turn of these four worlds. Where they advanced in science and technology, Erde turned to stranger pursuits. Nestled in the Draconian Mountains, named for the creature that once inhabited them, is Lorem, the land's largest city. Built on the site of the dragon's former lair, it surrounded by a tall stone wall. A central gate leads into an open air marketplace, surrounded by shops and homes of varying construction, though the most common is stone. By the standards of most worlds, Erde's technology is medieval at best. But it compensates with a high degree of magic, with a wide variety of forms present. Some harness magic from the environment, some from their own energy, and others from higher powers of varying kinds. But one thing is consistent; magic comes with a price. Outside of the mountains, Erde is largely forested, with a few small villages scattered about. Creatures of all kinds and levels of intellect inhabit every corner of the world, some benevolent, some malevolent, and others simply incomprehensible by human standards. Erde is separated from Terra by a thick forest, and from Earth by a wide river. The land has no true ruler, instead, each settlement selects its own through their own methods. The most powerful of these rulers, however, are the council member of Lorem. The council is composed of representatives for the merchants, the warriors, the craftsmen, and every other group of significant size within the city, and makes decisions based on a vote. They are intensely distrustful of technology-driven nations, Terra in particular. (Note: I am willing to give a degree of freedom with the magic and species found in Erde, but they must make sense. As the setting is largely high fantasy in nature, fiction of that setting should be used as a guideline.) The Dominion of Britain In contrast with the lush forests of Erde, or the crisp, clean cities of Terra, the Dominion of Britain is a land dominated by steam-powered marvels. In this world, Britain leaped forward with the Industrial Revolution, advancing themselves at a rapid rate. They reclaimed their status as a colonial power, and continued along their path. The entire land has been industrialized, the landscape dominated by factories and zeppelins. Steam is the power of choice, and it fuels everything from vehicles to factories. Zeppelins crowd the sky, the vehicle of choice for travel and for military. The cities are controlled chaos, the air filled with noise and water vapor. Fashion never truly advanced past the Victorian era, though the necessity of certain items for the safe operation of steam powered devices has changed designs a bit. Electricity is used, but it is mostly reserved for powering lights and telephones. The largest city, London, is easily one of the largest cities in any of the realms, its technological prowess matched only by Terra despite its antiquated methods. The Dominion is ruled by a long line of monarchs, backed by an elected Parliament. It borders Earth and Terra, separated from both by a wide expanse of water. Docks are built on either side to aid in travel, as the inhabitants are quite curious about the realms around them. (Note: The Dominion falls squarely into the genre of steampunk. Use said genre as the guideline for technology and fashion.) Player created worlds will be added to this section as they appear. -Approval- Fill out this profile template, and post your profile for approval in the Discussion topic. Name:Gender:Species:Age:Universe of Origin:Appearance:Equipment:Abilities:Skills:Weaknesses:Bio: -World Approval- If you wish to create a new world to be added, fill out this approval form. Name: This is pretty self explanatory. What is the location in this realm called?Setting: Describe the place. Is it mountainous? Lots of lakes? What are the major locations? Cities? Use as much detail as you can, images or maps if you want.Description (Include any major conflicts, if applicable): What is this land like? Is it a post-apocalyptic world? A utopia? Describe what kind of world it is we're dealing with. The political structure, warring factions, any major issues or conflicts, all of it goes here.Technology Level/Magic System: Technology and magic, no matter how advanced or cool it is, follows certain rules. If there is magic, outline how it works, what it can do, and what its limitations are here. Same goes for technology. World creation is significantly more challenging than it appears at first. I'm going to put the disclaimer right here; if a world is not carefully constructed, it won't be approved. It's not that the staff want to prevent you from creating your own worlds, but we have to make sure they're carefully considered and created. Because otherwise we'll end up with a sea of half-formed places. Worlds should be posted for approval in the discussion topic. Players are limited to creating two worlds, but a third may be allowed if a compelling case is made. Note: Worlds that are not original in nature are tentatively banned. This is a universe where all universes can collide, but they should be original in nature. That said, if you wish to use a universe from preexisting fiction, you will have to make a case to the staff over PM. This should consist of an essay detailing why you should be allowed to use an adaptation of an existing fictional world. -Rules- 1. No godmodding. Yes, there is magic. Yes, there is advanced technology. But each one follows very specific rules as to how it functions, and what its weaknesses are. You cannot autohit (Hitting another character without giving a chance to react), you cannot insta-dodge (Dodging things you shouldn't be able to), you cannot bunny (Controlling someone else's character without their permission), and you cannot meta-game (Your character knowing things they cannot and should not know).2. Use IC (In character) and OOC (Out of Character). For example:IC: Joe ran down the street, glancing over his shoulder hoping that he had lost his pursuers. Unfortunately, he hadn't. OOC: Anyone want to give him a hand?3. OOC discussion belongs in the Discussion topic. Only two OOC-only posts will be allowed in a row before warnings are issues.4. You may have up to five characters.5. Respect the staff. This should go without saying, but any staff members are where they are for a reason. If you have an issue with one of them, or one of their rulings, talk to them about it. If you feel that they are still being unreasonable, take it up with one of the other staff members. They will make a ruling from there.6. This game follows a tiered punishment system. Your first offense will result in an official warning. This is your one chance to shape up and turn back without real consequence. Your second offense will result in severe injury to either the offending character, or a character of the staff's selection if the offense occurred OOC. Third will result in character death. The fourth will result in a temporary ban of duration selected at the time of punishment, and the fifth and final offense will result in a permanent ban. Leave, do not come back. Any one of these steps may be skipped over if the action is severe enough, but a final ban requires a majority vote of all staff members, and can only be administered by either the Head GM or the Co-GM. -Staff- Head GM: The Snark KnightCo-GM: Lord of Adders Black Should the game require more staff members, players may be promoted to Assistants. Both GMs and Assistants are allowed to have PCs, as long as they follow the same rules as other PCs. Staff NPC profiles will be added as necessary.
  22. Congratulations to: [*]Masquerade - Parugi[*]Era - Gravity[*]The Arsenal of the Ancients - The FourteenthThey are the winners of our twenty-ninth Bionicle RPG Contest! They can start their games as they please. Remember, as with the last contest, if the RPG has no posts for three weeks, it will be closed and the next runner-up will be allowed to start their RPG - so go play!As per usual, RPGs from the previous contest will have a week or so to wrap up. I'll probably be jet lagged from BrickCon a week from now and will probably forget to close them until later in the week. Thanks to the data loss, the old RPGs can be considered closed. The new RPGs will have additional time to play since they have to restart. Thanks to everyone who entered and voted!
  23. League of Six Kingdoms Formed After centuries of chaos, trade routes and worker's guilds have been united under an unprecedented new effort headed by the peace-seeking yet self-proclaimed "warlords;" Ehlek, Mantax, Pridak, Kalmah, Takadox, and Carapar. Despite fearsome names, the Six Kingdom Warlords Alliance (SKWA) were formed under the direction of the Great Spirits to ensure peace and prosperity in our time. SKWA leader Pridak takes the stand to address citizen's concerns over new government systems at yesterday's meeting in the heart of the coliseum When asked about current and future political ambitions, the leader of the SKWA and overseer of the great northern trade routes, Pridak, said he wanted only to be a boon to the working class and not a hindrance, citing economic spikes as tied to good government-guild relations. Concerns about military and police force were brushed off with a simple "only law-breakers need worry." The crowd, composed of many of Metru-Nui's hard-working citizens, seemed to visibly relax at this. Not everyone was in high spirits about the new mandatory government; some feeling that the toothy, charismatic leader smelled a little fishy. "So what's the law, yanno?" one carver spat angrily at the podium. "If we don't do somethin' to help you, is that an offense? And if we object, that's another one, right?" It is well known to trade circles, certainly, that the Po-Metru carver's markets are not the most brilliant example of well-to-do citizenry, but once more our fears were quelled as Pridak took the opportunity to address some concerns personally: "We are here to ensure diplomacy and prevent war. I'm sure we can all appreciate the need for safer communication in our markets. To that end, the minor quibbles of day-to-day life are not police matters. I advise you to take care of personal matters and move right along with no fear of retaliation." Pridak will be holding additional public forums in the months to come in order to ensure a smooth transition for citizens under his control. His first step will be to establish patrols along the pirate-infested trade routes between the Ga-Metru ports and Xian manufacturers. "I think this is a good step for everyone," Pridak said. "It's important to keep safety our priority." Ceteran Malivus for the Coliseum Chronicle can be reached through local offices; extension 50464. New contributors may request a free press kit and journalism guide.
  24. Archivist Entry 001.01 Following the announcement of the six warlords' ascension to power as universal leaders of change, it seemed peace was finally at hand. Metru-Nui citizens felt little impact in their day to day existence, and even the citizens of other island nations seemed in capable hands. The brotherhood bore the yoke with a semblance of grumbling, namely for having intruders finally look inside their laboratories. Vortixx factories continued to produce technology under Barraki Pridak's wise hand, and the seasons of commerce turned from Spring to Summer. "We benefit from the mandates on science and technology," a Ga-Matoran teacher named Nokama reported, "since so many of the advances in medicine and EP have been more or less hidden until now. Barraki Takadox had done a good deed in the latest bill." However, this peace was not to last. This morning, two months after the initial declaration and press conference by the six world leaders, Zakaz has declared itself a sovereign nation, under no jurisdiction of the barraki or any other being except the skakdi lords. This may be the only time in history of skakdi coming together as a single unit. Ko Ratsque for The Archivist may be reached through your local filing branch; extension 106876. New contributors may request a press kit, Journalism Guide, and ticket to the Archives of Onu-Wahi. ~~Previous Journal Posting, by the Coliseum Chronicle: HERE.
