  1. So, I don't know if anyone has brought this up before, but I had an interesting idea. I was reading about the Kingdom alternate universe, and I saw something I had forgotten about: when Vezon passed through that universe, he saw them preparing to launch a spacecraft. Now, this obviously has some pretty huge implications on its own, as it would mean that the beings from the Matoran Universe would obviously come in contact with the people of Bara Magna and Bota Magna. But something else occurred to me: in that universe, Velika had become a Toa. Of course, when Greg wrote The Kingdom, he probably hadn't yet decided that Velika was a Great Being in disguise, and so he couldn't have taken into account the implications of him becoming a Toa. However, knowing what we know now, these facts give rise to some interesting speculation. Some things to consider: the Matoran, and all other beings of that universe, have lived out their entire lives inside the GSR, and so should theoretically not have any concept of anything beyond. For 100,000 years, their world ended at the tops of the domes; on the island of Mata Nui, they shouldn't have thought that the sky was anything different. They would have no way of knowing that outer space existed, as nobody had ever told them anything about it. The only person in the entire MU that knows about the true nature of things is Velika. Also, if events played out the way they did in this alternate universe, Velika would be in a total panic. His goal is to rule Spherus Magna, but here Mata Nui's mission has failed, and Spherus Magna is pretty much doomed. Furthermore, he has no way of ever getting off the uninhabited world of Aqua Magna to return to his loyal agents. He's completely stranded, with no way of seeing his goal through. So, this is my idea: what if the Kingdom's space program was Velika's idea? He could have used his status as one of Turaga Takanuva's prime Toa to convince people that there was a whole universe in the sky, and that they should build a craft to explore it, as a ploy to get off Aqua Magna, return to either Bara Magna or Bota Magna to see his agents, find another way to reform Spherus Magna, and then take it over. I think it makes sense. What do you guys think? Do you think that this could have occurred to Greg, and, had the story continued, we would maybe revisit this universe? I think it would have some interesting story potential.

  3. (This is my take on the events that happened before Bionicle 2015, assuming the mask is the Mask of Creation, which makes the most sense. Also the most I've written in quite a while.) Old Endings, New Beginnings “In the time before time, the Great Beings ruled this planet in peace and harmony, Then the selfish desires of the people split everything apart. A mission was begun to repair the damage, and a people were created. They needed a ruler, a creator, and so my brother and I fought over the right, Not a war of blades, but a war of minds. I emerged victorious and retrieved my right to be that ruler. My brother was always jealous, but he is gone now. Everything is gone. But I’m still sitting here!” The room shuddered as the massive green being pounded on his throne. His pedestal was the only lit thing in the room, though gleams of crystals and metal along the walls revealed it to be much larger. “These Toa believe they have the right to the glory! They believe they have the right to the people! Was it not I who created them? Was it not I who gave them the tools to save the Great Spirit?” The green being was standing now in an indignant fury, his throne and surroundings forgotten. He raised his hand as if expecting something to fall into it, then his mask glowed and stones from around the room fused into a rough puppet. The face had a round mouth edged by lines, and the eyes were narrow slits. Its only defense from the being’s fury was a pathetic-looking flaming sword. At the sight, the being threw the puppet across the room in disgust, and it shattered against a pillar. “They believe I will be safe here. As if there is any power that can defeat me!” His mask glowed again, and crystals in the shadows shuddered and slithered along the ground. “I am Artahka! The Great Creator, Wearer of the Legendary Mask of Creation! Nothing can…” All his anger ebbed away as he looked down to see a massive drill shoved through his heartlight. “No,” was all he could say. “There, there, Artahka. Let’s not get too excited. That’s right, just sit down.” The light that was blazing in Artahka’s eyes moments ago was fading as the titan weakened and collapsed back into the throne. “It’s…you, isn’t it? I remember you. You were the mad one who decided to watch.” “You think me mad? Could a mad Matoran bring down the Great Creator?” The little brown Matoran stepped into the light, a smug grin on his mask. His hunched, broken look gave him an extra feeling of malice. “You were never a Matoran. You’re much more than that.” “You’re right. I never was a Matoran. This body was though.” “Why are you doing this? You are destroying your very creations!” “Oh, Artahka. You’ve been watching just as I have. Haven’t you seen the petty disputes? The deactivations? These machines have gone too far.” Artahka could hardly sit up anymore. “They are more than just machines. You made sure of that.” The Matoran took a casual step away, turning his back on Artahka as if acknowledging he was no longer a threat. “That is true. But at journey’s end, they are still just cells. Little creatures going about their way, never realizing that they are living in and even serving a greater creature, far greater than they could even imagine! They are broken, confused, forced from the life they always knew.” “I have faith they will adapt.” “And if they don’t?” The Matoran turned around, his mask almost showing genuine concern. “Artahka, they need a leader.” Artahka could barely muster the words, but he spit them out anyways. “Not…one like you.” Suddenly, the Matoran jumped up onto the throne, showing agility no one would expect from his form. He forced Artahka’s head back, making the titan gasp in pain. “But I will be the only one left,” he whispered, mask to mask with his victim. The crazed grin on his face showed Artahka he was serious. And seriously insane. Artahka weakly raised a hand, his mask glowing almost imperceptibly. The crystals in the shadows shuddered again. “Oh, don’t try calling your ‘pets,’ Artahka. You are far too weak. You should have stopped me when you had the chance.” The Matoran hopped down, retrieved his drill, and began walking away. “Oh, wait, you never had a chance.” The last sound Artahka heard was the Great Being’s crazed laughter ringing down the halls. As the titan fell, the shadows were ready to greet him. The Legendary Mask of Creation, forgotten entirely by the little assassin, fell off and bounced into the waiting claws just out of the light. The creatures in the shadows pronounced their work good and scuttled off with the one of the most powerful masks in the universe.
  4. Greg's just confirmed that Velika has agents loyal to him on Bara Magna, who have been reporting the goings-on to him over the past 100,000 years. Most intriguingly, he's confirmed -- wait for it -- One or more of these agents are characters we met in 2009 story. I'd have made a poll if I were able, but as I'm frugal with my money, I'm no Premier Member. I invite S&T to review all Bara Magna characters and consider who might have been an informant all along. Savvy? I'm keeping track of who's suspected by whom on this handy-dandy "Suspicion Chart". The rankings are based on the number of posters vouching for or against that character being an informant. I've only recorded votes that used in-story evidence; people who say "not So-and-So, I don't want them to be the informant" will not be counted. Currently, Vastus and Atakus are topping the charts, followed by Metus. The two least suspected people on the planet are Gresh and Tarduk. (First page... excellent. Let the theorizing truly begin.)
  5. Welcome to the tenth and final installment of my new series of Bionicle flash fics, The Biological Chronicle. If you want to read the other stories in this series, you can find links to them in my signature at the end of this post. If you don't know what this is, allow me to quote from the first fic's introduction: With that out of the way, enjoy: 2010 “What do we do if the Makuta go astray?” The Great Being known as Angonce looked up from his workbench at his fellow Great Being, Velika. A half-finished mask lay on the table before him, but Angonce didn't pay much attention to it, distracted as he was by his brother's question. “Why would that ever happen, Velika?” said Angonce. “The Makuta are supposed to aid Mata Nui. They would never even think of rebelling against him.” “You said the same thing about the Element Lords,” Velika pointed out. “And we both know how well that turned out.” Angonce sighed and put down his mask-making tools. “All right. What do you suggest we do?” “We need to design a weapon that can combat the Makuta,” said Velika. “Something that can destroy solid antidermis quickly and efficiently.” Angonce quirked an eyebrow. “A bomb of some sort?” “No,” said Velika, shaking his head. He was clearly deep in thought now, like he always got whenever he was on a roll. “There would always be the danger of the bomb being set off too early and thus failing to destroy any antidermis at all. We need something better. But what?” Angonce thought about that for a moment. He glanced at the mask on his table, which was colored gold, and an idea occurred to him. “Maybe a set of golden armor?” Velika looked at Angonce in surprise. “Golden armor?” “Yes,” said Angonce, nodding. “Golden armor that can instantly destroy all solid antidermis within its vicinity. Not only that, but it could also absorb all the powers of the Makuta that are killed.” Now it was Velika's turn to quirk an eyebrow. “And why would that be necessary? It sounds to me like it would only make the user go mad with power.” “Not if the user is a Toa,” said Angonce. “One of the Toa Mata, perhaps the leader, Toa Tahu. As for why it would be necessary . . . well, I just thought what a shame it would be to lose all of our work if the user of the golden armor managed to destroy all the Makuta. At least we can save the powers, if nothing else.” “Yes,” said Velika, though he did not sound entirely convinced by that. “Yes, of course. But where would we keep the golden armor? After all, while it may never be used, we don't want to put it where anyone could get their hands on it, at least not easily.” Angonce stroked his chin and looked at the half-finished mask before him. Then an idea struck him like lightning. “I know,” said Angonce. “We can put it inside the Mask of Life. After all, we already plan to put the Ignika out of the reach of most beings. Not even the Makuta will be able to get it if we do that.” Velika smiled. “I like your way of thinking, brother. Let's get to it.” - And that's a wrap (unless Bionicle comes back next year, in which case I might write The Biological Chronicle: 2015 as the real finale, but we'll see what will happen, I suppose). Comments, criticism, questions, etc. are all welcome . -TNTOS-
  6. The Kingdom states: Let's set aside Kapura and Balta both being Ta-Matoran and Tanma not wearing the Mask of Light. How the heck is Velika suddenly a Toa? If you're going to tell me he's not a Great Being in this universe, then I'll tell you that then none of the events of that universe should have happened, because Velika was the reason for the Matoran Universe's inhabitants achieving sentience.
  7. Lewa stood around the prone bodies of some of the most powerful beings in existance, facing someone who could smash him with the push of a button, or worse. He looked at the mad Po-Matoran, who wasn't a Matoran. Lewa's mask, which had so often worn a smile, was curved into a grim frown. "And now, for the ultimate solution." the mad being known as Velika stated with obvious insanity. As Velika reached for a switch, something clicked in Lewa's head. "I have to destroy him. even if it means my life." The normally happy, airheaded Toa Nuva was now forced to call upon his last resort. He drew upon his reserves of elemental energy, and forced them out in one massive display of power. Velika cried out too late, as the blast of air shot outward with the force of an atom bomb, upturning everything in its path. The insane Great Being's frail form was thrown about like a straw, slamming into things. A few seconds after the blast of air shot out, the air begain to swirl. And swirl. ANd swirl. It went faster and faster, picking up anythingthat was not uprooted before and tossing it every which way. Lewa was suspened in the middle of the storm, his eyes closed in half concentration, half exhaustion, as he poured every last bit of his power into the storm. His fists were clenched, and all his muscles tense. The storm kept raging on, until finally Lewa's reserves were fully exhausted. The storm died down, dropping everything caught in it, Lewa fell to the ground, and knew no more. __________ Something I wrote on the LMBs.
  8. A tribute to the second coolest Matoran group in Bionicle (Chronicler's Co. being the first, but more on that later). This project has been in the works about as long as Project Reignition (which you could consider this a "Part 2" of), and it all started with me getting Garan in the mail from someone here on BZP (sorry, I totally forgot who). Suddenly, I just had to revamp his silly form (which was actually better than most small sets up to that point, but was also exactly the same as Velika), and after doing that, I noticed that there were very few revamps of the VNRT out there, so I promptly got out my parts and started building. That was about 6 months or so ago. Now that I finally ordered the pieces I wanted to put into Piruk, I could finish it. I also got an opportunity to use my new lightbox again, which turned out so much better now that I read the instructions (let that be a lesson to all of you) So, without further ado, enjoy: Group Shot Garan I want YOU to join the Voya Nui Resistance! Fearless Onu-Matoran Leader of the group who carries a pair of Pulse Bolt Generators. I would have liked to make his eyes, heartlight, and Generator lights purple to match his Piraka Attack appearance, but alas, the pieces don't exist. Garan has also stayed together the longest of all the Matoran, since I only changed his lower arms from light grey to black. Most of the rest have been completely redone a few times. The new Garan has eighteen points of articulation compared to nine in his set version, which was one of my major goals with this project, along with heartlights, fingers, better weapons, and a unique design for each Matoran. Front Side Back Comparison to old build Velika The coolest iceberg is the one that gives little and remains silent. What does that even mean? Secretly a Great Being, this "Po-Matoran" is the inventor of the group, and often spouts seemingly random bits of wisdom. He carries a pair of Power Carvers. Velika ended up as a bit more industrial looking, with a boxy appearance and few smooth edges. No idea why I put the Hordika necks on his sides, just that it looked awesome I guess. His waist also reminds me of Bumblebee from the newer Transformers, don't you think? I'm still not a huge fan of his leg design, but I've already used pretty much everything else with the other Matoran and didn't want to overlap too much. He has eighteen points of articulation (his waist bends, sort of) compared to the original nine. Front Side Back Demonstration of posability I've got it! Comparison And because I was bored Dalu Just try to take me down. A valiant warrior of water who used to be docile like any other Ga-Matoran until her time in Karzahni changed all that. Now, she protects the Resistance with her twin Chargers. Dalu was one of the more interesting builds. Some of you may recognize her knee design from my Hydroenix, most of you won't. She actually came first. Also, her torso was copied from Isirh from a ways back, and it still looks great. I was trying to go for a more feminine, streamlined but armored look with her, so let me know what you think. She has twenty points of articulation (if you count her double-jointed knees) compared to nine on her earlier version. Front Side Back Posablity Comparison Stop fighting you two! Balta Balta is a hopeful and brave Ta-Matoran who can also act as a secondary inventor of smaller devices. He wields a pair of Repellers, which he's used even on the Piraka a few times. Balta's original look was ugly. He was wide, and had Bohrok Eyes in wierd places, and his arms were all wobbly. Sadly, mine isn't much better. I had some problems getting some new ideas after building practically every other Matoran, and I've never been too pleased with him. The arms aren't bad, and I like the back, but the waist is weird. Still, he's much better than a lot of my previous MOCs. He has seventeen points of articulation (sadly no waist) compared to the original ten (if you count the shoulders). Front Side Back Posability Comparison Kazi The Red Star sure is pretty tonight. Well, that's one thing on this island. Kazi is a cold and sarcastic Ko-Matoran, although more talkative than others of his element. He wields twin Echo Forks. Kazi was an interesting case, as his set didn't even have any sort of hip joints, but I was determined to make him look similar to his set counterpart, so I used the Hordika necks as legs and gave him some more joints in his waist to compensate. It ended up making him look like a bodybuilder, but I blame Karzahni. Also, turns out that the trans-medium blue 1x1 round studs were only in like 3 sets, so I had to use light blue. At least it matches his eyes. I was actually surprised how well he showed up against my background. It was nice. He has seventeen points of articulation (two in each of his hips) compared to the original seven. Front Side Back Posability Comparison Stargazin' with the other hardest color to photograph. Or maybe they're trying to avoid each other. Piruk I'm n-n-not playing with m-m-my claws, I'm j-j-just a b-b-bit camera shy. A rather nervous Le-Matoran spy for the Voya Nui Resistance. He has Shredder Claws attached to his hands that he has a bad habit of sharpening when nervous. Luckily we got him calmed down before finishing the shoot. Piruk was the last one I made, the most expensive and the most fun. I figured that he needed some kind of power generator for those massive claws (which are actually copied from my Lageris hands), so I gave him a Mata Head generator and some Mahri tubing, which actually worked out great with his color scheme. He's so much fun to pose, and I really love those HF 3-length double sockets, so I'm glad I ordered some from Bricklink. He has twenty-five points of articulation (if you count his finger joints) compared to nine on his original set. Great improvement there; nearly 300%! Front Side Back Posability Attack! Comparison Well, finally got that out of the way. Now I have some more pieces for the many projects I have going on right now. Huge "thank you" to my guest stars: the Nuparu Inika Groupie and the amazing shapeshifting talents of Aldrak! Give them a big round of applause! I hope you enjoyed, my next post should be the Chronicler's Co. since I finally retrieved all of their masks from Bricklink for only $30 or something. Goodbye! Piruk! You better not have ruined another picture! Of c-c-course not, G-G-Garan.
  9. Okay, so we all know that Velika was a Great Being the entire time. I was just thinking that everything that happened in the storyline was his PLAN the entire time. Let me explain. The Great Beings sure did seem to mess up a lot of their creations, didn't they? For such brilliant minds, their inventions had some pretty big flaws in them that none of them seemed to notice in the developing stage. I was thinking that Velika might have actually sabotaged or modified those creations into what they are now. A big example of this is with the Matoran, Toa, etc. How does an AI glitch bring about the incredibly complex personalities of ALMOST EVERYTHING IN THE MATORAN UNIVERSE?! Furthermore, how do beings originally built to just be drones maintaining a giant robot have destinies? That just does! Not! HAPPEN! ...Unless of course, if it was Velika's plan to re-program all of them so that everything would play out like he wanted it to. You could argue that certain things that happened to him in the Matoran Universe wouldn't be beneficial in the long run, but where did it get him? One of only a few Great Beings left, on a world that's still trying to adjust to major changes, where he has arguably far more sanity and intelligence than almost anyone. In other words, prime conditions for him to take over, with him none the worse for wear. I could definitely be wrong, but it just seems to make a lot of sense to me.
  10. A bit of something new for me. I wanted to try something like this a long time back but I didn't know what to do. Given a lot of the mysteries of the Bionicle universe, especially those from the serials, I think there is something to work with now in addition to some of the already existent ones from the main storyline. Here we go... And before you ask, with this particular case the host is covering, there are going to be constant updates, so this first case isn't finished yet, before anyone asks. Hydraxon: In the eve of one cold night, there had been reports of various deaths that all had something in common. Tonight we investigate one of those deaths, which would be the death of Karzahni, as well as review the life of the deceased. I’m your host, Hydraxon, and I like wearing this trench coat. Join me, and you might be able to help me solve a mystery. *Insert “Bionicle: Unsolved Mysteries” title sequence.* Hydraxon: Sometime in the waking dawn on the newly reformed planet of Spherus Magna, a somewhat dull mission turned into a frightening experience when two lone Toa discovered the deceased body of the insane ruler known only as Karzahni at the bottom of Iron Canyon. From there, his body was brought in and examined by our team of specialists. Tahu, fire expert Tahu: I can definitely confirm he wasn’t burned. Trust me, I know these things. I like to burn stuff. Gali, healing expert Gali: Karzahni had seemingly fallen to his doom based on a large part of his injuries. To fall from Iron Canyon would yield great harm to one’s self alone, but it gets worse. Hydraxon: The two witnesses who discovered Karzahni had this to say… Kopaka, strategic specialist and loser in love Kopaka: Not only did Karzahni fall to his doom, but he landed on this little knife thing that was somehow waiting for him at the bottom of the cliff. Pohatu, weapon specialist, napkin collector, local athlete Pohatu: Actually, that’s an air sword. Kopaka: … Who carries around this little stub and calls it a sword? Pohatu: >_> Kopaka: Oh… right. But that’s different! Pohatu: Anyway, this is the Air Sword, usually carried by Toa Lesovikk. Hydraxon: Toa Lesovikk, as a fallen Toa, had personal issues with the demented tyrant and sought to personally bring justice with his own hand. However, several months earlier, he was robbed of that chance when Karzahni was arrested by the Order of Mata Nui, taken in by the member known as Botar. Unfortunately, we were unable to get an interview before his untimely demise, as Botar denied privilege for any questioning. Pohatu: Lesovikk just wanted to take matters into his own hands, for what he feels would be retribution for a lost chance being a hero. Kopaka: Personally I think he’s just out of his mind. Even if Karzahni was the way he is, why go out and push him to his demise? Hydraxon: While imprisoned by the Order of Mata Nui, Karzahni sought institution to help aid his shattered mind, which was made more insane by the ruthless Makuta Teridax. We have recreated the scene with these non-paid interns cosplaying as those who were involved. Karzahni’s mind shredding re-enactment “Karzahni”: I know about you Makuta and now I’m going to instill fear into you. *makes noises, puts hands on box head meant to represent Kanohi Olisi* “Teridax/Maxilos”: You made a big mistake Karzahni. I don’t have nightmares. I give them instead. So take this for your trouble! *he makes noises, holds out his broom and aims it at “Karzahni,” who falls over and starts yells in pain.* End of recreation Hydraxon: It was from there, Lesovikk himself wanted to take matters into his own hands as the tyrant made a hasty escape and tried to show him some pretty pictures with his kanohi mask power. From there, he was taken in by Botar and put into a mental institution. We managed to get a hold of some file footage straight from the Order as documentation of Karzahni’s progress on his mental health. Sessions did not go so well. A warning to some of our more sensitive viewers. Session #1 Therapist: Why do you feel the need to run from conflict? Karzahni: I never run away! I always stand and fight! Therapist: And yet you quit everything else you’ve ever done. You know, you’re only a failure if you never try. [awkward pause] Karzahni: Retreat! Session #7 *Karzahni is wrapped in a straight jacket* Karzahni: The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round. Session #15 Karzahni, still wrapped up: Have the lambs started, Clarisse? Session #22 *Karzahni is locked up in a dark room* Karzahni: Fergalicious definition make them boys go loco… Session #28 Karzahni: Where’s my rubber ducky?! Session #32 *Karzahni is standing on his head* Karzahni: Who turned the world upside down?! I can’t take it anymore! Session #38 Karzahni: Is that you, Carly Rae Jepsen? End of footage Hydraxon: It was because of this lack of progress, Karzahni was deemed a lost cause and later sent to the Pit to live out the rest of his imprisonment. Turaga Vakama, wise elderly type figure Vakama: He wasn’t really good at rebuilding Matoran, either. The other Turaga and I had to fix the ones he had in his realm after they were relocated. One more thing. Makuta actually named a plant after him, which tried to attack me. One more thing. He was meant to be a tale everyone said just to frighten one another. I never thought he actually existed. Tahu Tahu: His injuries are fake. Gali Gali: How do you explain that? Hydraxon: Somewhere out there, the murderer is still at large and is evading capture. Some believe he has gone south, changed his name to Vesolikk, and tried to create a new life for himself. He is seven feet tall with orange eyes, and was last seen wearing a Kanohi Faxon and green armor. If you or anyone has seen him or have any information, please call us. Coming up next… a glowing red object in the sky known as the “Red Star.” What secrets are linked with it? Later on, we take a look at a closer encounter with the Zyglak kind.
  11. This is the fourth installment of my 8-part short-story series. I am particularly excited to post this one, since I spent a lot more time on it than the previous three. So here, it is, Web of Karzahni! Web of Karzahni The wearer of the Olisi, the mighty Karzahni, stared around in horror. Dozens, no hundreds of Matoran were surrounding him. His Matoran; the ones he had made into his slaves. He turned his head back and forth, once again trying to raise his hand to strike them down, but to no avail. For some strange reason, his feet were riveted to the ground, and his hands were stuck to his sides, as if held there by glue. And the screaming, all around him, he heard shouts of pain, of anger, and of vengeance. There was one scream though, that towered over all the others, an earsplitting screech, one of distress and terror.Karzahni scanned the crowds of Matoran, searching for the source of this scream. After a while though, he realized that the scream was not coming from any of the Matoran, it was coming from him.Karzahni looked around as the Matoran converged on him, piling up over his body, beating him with their fists, and tearing his armored plates off. He screamed even louder as he was ravaged by them, why couldn’t he move?!One of the Matoran, one of stone, came into view, in his hand he held a hammer, and on his face he wore a Kanohi Komau. Karzahni stared at the Matoran, he recognized him from somewhere, and for some reason he was even more horrified by the Matoran’s presence. His eyes widened, and he let out one last scream that echoed around as the Matoran raised his tool, and brought it down on Karzahni’s heartlight… … Karzahni’s eyes snapped open. He looked around; he was sitting on his throne in his own realm. He tested his left arm, then the right; yes, he could move them both freely. Everything seemed normal once more, all except one thing; he was still screaming.Karzahni looked down at the ground, and immediately understood why any being would be screaming now. A Po-Matoran, who wore a Komau on his face sat at Karzahni’s feet, his eyes still closed. After a moment, the Matoran looked up and opened his eyes. Karzahni managed to say through his screams, “What … are … you?!”The Matoran replied, “You cannot explain sight to one who is blind.”Karzahni threw out a hand, sending the Matoran hurtling across the room. He pointed at the Matoran of stone and screeched, “Get him out! I never want to see him again!”Two Matoran clad in dull gray armor that may have once matched the colors of their elements grabbed the Po-Matoran and dragged him away, though the servant of stone put up no resistance.Karzahni watched him go, his screams finally dying down in his throat, whether this was because the Matoran was gone, or because he was growing hoarse he did not know.As the three Matoran disappeared from his line of sight, Karzahni remembered back to when this Matoran had first arrived. His name was Velika; he had come from a land he would not reveal, though his homeland was of no interest to Karzahni, so he hadn’t bothered to force the information out of him.The Matoran’s friends had sent him here because they believed him to be insane. Karzahni dismissed this notion almost immediately, and had attributed Velika’s problems to laziness. But whenever Velika had been told to work, he had replied with strange riddles, and showed no signs of complying. Karzahni had punished him physically, but when it showed no signs of changing the stubborn Po-Matoran, Karzahni had been forced to use a different approach. He had ordered Velika to be brought to him, and commanded him directly to work, giving the Matoran one last chance to comply, but the Matoran had simply said, “You cannot teach a Gukko to fly by striking it.”Karzahni had activated his mask power, but then something had changed. Karzahni’s Mask of Alternate Futures was supposed to create an alternate reality within a dream that Karzahni chose based off the target’s past, but instead, Karzahni himself had ended up within his own alternate reality, with Matoran surrounding him. That wasn’t supposed to happen. Velika was supposed to be the one experiencing the nightmares, not him. Karzahni shuddered, and tried to push the thoughts out of his head, but he would never truly be the same… … Velika hit the ground and slid several bios across the dusty ground. He glanced back behind him at the two Matoran who had thrown him. It made him so sad, thinking of how helpless and defeated they must feel.He turned and looked at what lay in front of him: a tunnel, with a worn out and barely visible inscription written at its entrance. Even if the words had been clear, nobody would have been able to read it; nobody, except Velika, for it had been he who had etched the letters into the stone so long ago. He walked up to the inscription, and fury built up inside him, for the inscription read, “The path of hope.”Velika walked into the tunnel, following its straight and narrow path, reflecting on the incident he had had with Karzahni as he went.Inside this body, Velika still possessed the ability to negate mask powers, and even had the ability to use them against a target if he concentrated enough. But alas, that was all he was capable of.Being inside a Matoran body had its limits, but when the time was right, Karzahni would pay for what he had done. Velika hated to kill one of his own creations, but the tyrant would be too much of a danger to the plan if he wasn’t disposed of at some point. He considered Artakha, Karzahni’s ‘brother,’ though he had not had a chance yet to see him in his new form, Velika figured that he too would be a problem, and would have to be removed as well.Velika turned his mind from his plans for correction, and decided to think about what had gone well. He had managed to leave the land of Karzahni without being forced to hurt any Matoran or the Manas that guarded the entrances, and was now on his way to the island of Voya Nui, an island that would become a very important ground in the future. This was not by accident either; it was because the island housed one of the most powerful objects in the universe, The Kanohi Ignika, the Mask of Life. It would be Velika’s mission, if possible, to protect the mask from those would wish to use it for evil, and guide the rightful heir to the mask.Velika smiled a little as he thought of the herald, a Ko-Matoran named Matoro. Unlike any other being in the universe, Matoro’s mind was designed and based off of a Great Being, one named Angonce. Matoro would, if the plan succeeded, bring the mask to the core of the universe and enter the Codrex. There he would reawaken Mata Nui. Velika stared ahead, pushing all these thoughts away, and focusing on the long journey that lay before him…
