1. Hello everyone! Well it´s finally here, the second episode of my series BIONICLE: Rise of a Phenomenon which talks about BIONICLE in 2001, thanks a lot to everyone who watched my previous video, it´s thanks to you that I made this and I hope I can continue all the way through every year of BIONICLE's history, please feel free to leave any comment or suggestion, If you'd like to see something for the next episode or just tell me if you enjoyed it. https://vimeo.com/64123122"]BIONICLE:Rise of a Phenomenon 2 And if you missed my previous videos here are the links: https://vimeo.com/57107849"]BIONICLE:Rise of a Phenomenon Introduction https://vimeo.com/57101149"]BIONICLE:Rise of a Phenomenon 1 Thank you very much LordofBionicles
2. Basically, with this track, I tried to recreate the same feeling the music in, say, the Mata Nui Online Game had. I personally think it turned out rather well, but I'm interested in what you guys think. So, here it is: Teh Songzorz
3. So I was thinking about Rahi and the Matoran Universe, and how they're a part of the MU's artificial ecosystem. And then I thought about how Matoran are really important for Mata Nui's health, and so the GBs/Mata Nui would surely want them to be working smoothly and without much bother. Of course, if they die, or are damaged, there are systems to solve that (Red Star, Karzahni), but ideally they shouldn't really be needed much. So I was just wondering, why did the Makuta make such nasty Rahi that would more than occasionally attack Matoran/sentient species? I'm not talking about Teridax on the island of Mata Nui, since the Makuta were already "evil" by that point, and Rahi like Visorak which were basically mass production weapons for the Brotherhood. I mean when the Makuta were new, not considered evil, given the job of making animals that would help (my theory now) maintain some kind of "Protodermis Cycle" (sort of comparable to the carbon/nitrogen cycles on Earth). Did they then also think "Hey, let's make these Rahi prone to attacking the workers who do the important stuff that needs higher sentient intelligence to do in our synthetic ecosystem, because that will surely help too". Were Rahi always meant to be aggressive to Sent. Species? Sure it was never a huge problem, there wasn't really ever a significant loss of life (I wonder if the Kanohi Dragon/Tahtorak/First Rahi may have been exceptions) but surely dangerous Rahi could only have been bad for sent. species? So yeah, why did the pre-evil Makuta make Rahi that would kill Matoran?

This is my entry for the Titans vs. Monsters contest. Enjoy! * * * Mata Nui, a spirit in control of a giant robot, leaped over a volcano, and changed that to a midair flip at the last second. "Sir, you are being incredibly irresponsible." A Glatorian pilot warned. "His name was Sam, and he wasnt a fan of Mata Nuis antics. Focus on your mission of reuniting Spherus Magna." "Do I have to do that right now?" Mata Nui said, landing smoothly. "Relax. I have 43,000 years. Besides, if you beings back on Spherus learned how to relax and have a little fun, like the aliens on Cetari IV, then you might be able to stop killing each other and making planet-wide explosions. He smiled, cutting a flat section of rock from a nearby mountain." "Sir, dont you think you should-" "This planet is uninhabited. I checked." Mata Nui carried the stone slab up another nearby mountain, taller than the other one. Snow swirled about him as he casually posed, his left foot holding the slab against the rock. "Incredible vantage point. This planet makes Spherus Magna look small." "Which means that planets bigger than Spherus Magna can exist. This is exciting! New knowledge to report back to the Great Beings." Sam elbowed Dan, his fellow pilot. "Come on, Mata Nui discovered something." Dan groaned and rolled over in his sleep. "I have no idea why I agreed to this mission." Mata Nui ignored them, holding his arms up and bending his knees. A slight leap, and his was sliding down the hill on the stone slab. Wheeeeee! The ground rumbled. The giant robots head looked nervously at the volcano, and the Great Spirit lost concentration on what he was doing. He fell backwards, splaying his hands out to catch himself. The stone slap kept sliding down the hill, into the maw of a giant black-and-purple being with yellow eyes. It reached out with its jaws, snapping, and Mata Nui rolled out of the way. He fired a palm-mounted laser at it. "Mata Nui!" Sam exclaimed. "That being could be a valuable source of information for the Great Beings!" "Sorry," Mata Nui said. "Reflexes." The laser cut into the being, showing pale pink flesh. Howling in rage, the monster stood up and clocked Mata Nui on the chest. The giant robot soared through the air and landed with a thud. Mata Nui got to its feet, brushing himself off. No sooner than that then the creature hissed straight in his face. "Can we like, fly away now?" Dan said. "I really would like to live." "Sensor readings indicate that this creature eats planets, inhabitants and all, and uses Energized Protodermis for fuel." Mata Nui said, backing away. "That's why this place is uninhabited - the people fled." He turned to the creature. "Sorry to disturb your home. We'll be leaving now." The black creatures scales rippled. Then its arm reached out, grabbing Mata Nui's arm and pulling it into his mouth. Mata Nui fired his palm-mounted laser again. The creature roared but didn't let go. "Um, you said that the creature uses Energized Protodermis for fuel?" Sam said. "We have much Energized Protodermis on board." Mata Nui caused earth to grow out of his arm, blocking the creatures jaws. Flames erupted all over the robot to try to break the creatures grip, but to no avail. Its jaws bit down with a sickening crunch. "Hull breach! Hull breach!" Sam yelled. Dan groaned, putting his hands over his helmet. Mata Nui kicked the creature. Black syrupy stuff covered Mata Nuis foot. That was when he remembered that his body was still covered in flames. Angery, the creature opened its jaws to reveal a badly mangled arm. Mata Nui quickly extracted the appendage, which was covered in black slime, only for the creature to punch him in the face. Unfortunately, the things fist stuck to Mata Nui's face. Water gushed over Mata Nui in a giant wave, stretching out the adhesive. Mata Nui felt himself being lifted up and slammed down the creature was beating his head into the ground for fun. His sensors indicated a smile. A bolt of plasma severed the connection. The giant robot hit the ground. "Ideas?" Mata Nui said. "Camoflage system?" Sam suggested. "That usually works." Mata Nui nodded. A few seconds later, a heaving mass covered his face. The Bohrok emerged quickly, cleaning up the mess. The creature paused. It seemed like he was fascinated. Thats when Mata Nui kicked him in the gut, sending him flying with his gravity powers. The Bohrok cleared his vision, and he stood up. The creature sprawled on the ground, dazed. Mata Nui kicked him again. "Stop," Sam murmured, annoyed. Dan sighed in relief. Using the power of Gravity, Mata Nui hurled the creature into a nearby star. "May you never terrorize any planets or people ever again." "How about us?" Dan complained. "Do we qualify?" "Sure," said Mata Nui. "Anyway, procrastination was fun, but we have a lot of work to do. Sam, I want you to run over the observations on this planet while the Matoran fix my arm. He paused. And when youre done with that, run though the Cetari I observations." "Sir, we have never been to Cetari I." "Well, that's next. But first, I really need a nap. He lie down on the planets surface. Look at those stars. Do you think we can visit them all?" "Maybe, "Sam muttered, "when you finally decide to grow up." The End
5. After Mata Nui's destiny of Reformation was revealed and completed, a niggling question began to develop itself in my mind, and no one seems to have commented about it so I may as well do it. Not to mention some related, irritated plot comments/questions that will drag out for ages after the main point (sorry). I'll begin by asking you to place yourself in the shoes of the Great Beings during the Core War. *Dramatic Narrator voice * The mysterious, powerful substance, Energised Protodermis, has been discovered oozing from deep within Spherus Magna's core, possessing properties the likes of which even your hyper-advanced race has never encountered (even though you’ve lived on the planet for thousands of years apparently you never actually bothered to find out what is under its crust). What's worst, the people of the planet have begun warring over it, in a ferocious, planet-wide conflict. Although you try diplomacy in order to quell the fighting, you always fail, and the very Element Lords that you created to help lead the planet’s people are at the forefront of the Core War’s continuity. Amongst the violence to which you are impartial, you begin investigating the substance’s nature. Your experiments find Energized Protodermis is extremely volatile and unbelievably energetic, and that if much more leaks to the surface through mean of extraction, it could (somehow) lead to the entire planet literally blowing itself apart. Such an event would cause death on a scale of billions (no idea on what the population actually is but needed a dramatic number). And, as the war progresses, you see this is now a virtually inevitable fate. As retired rulers and (sort of) patrons of this world, you begin planning for the worst. From the very substance around which the war orbits, you begin constructing a salvation of unimaginable scale: The Mata Nui Robot. What does this pinnacle of engineering and technology do? It saves everyone by being a giant space ark that can easily carry vast populations around to other habitable planets? LUL NOPE *Initiate horrific punctuation due to the following resembling serendipitous thought chains. It fixes the planet! (Whose pieces don’t realign under gravity anyways because plot. (Not to mention, how the Karz does anyone survive being on a planet that blows apart? Surely that much force would flatten you if you were on Bota Magna for example, right? How does the atmosphere stay intact?)) So there it is: Why didn’t the GBs try and save anyone but themselves (BS01 says they left Spherus Magna, presumably to another habitable planet)? Why bother going to the trouble of fixing your planet after everyone’s dead when you could save everyone before it happens, take some EP with you for further experimentation and just move to another planet? Were they so angry with the fact the Core War happened that they condemned ENTIRE RACES to death or a horrible life wandering barren deserts? Because judging by Mata Nui’s job it seems more like the cared about the planet rather than its people. Are they really that cold? If the MU project was to collect data to know how to fix Spherus Magna, that would suggest that there might be other worlds with EP. If not, collecting data on planets with fundamentally different structures (No EP) and compositions seems a bit odd. Why bother looking at other planets’ chemical mixtures if in the end you’re just going to tractor beam your planet back together? Of course, Mata Nui looked at other cultures too (Meaning tantalising prospects of Bionicle characters meeting other aliens) so was it more about getting alien technology, and some pro-tips about stopping planet wide war (it’s interesting they didn’t end up in a Cold War situation seeing as they had really amazing tech on Spherus Magna) the Great Beings didn’t have/already know? Surely the priority order would be “save the world, research later”? Even though it was supposedly "research first so we know how to save the world". This of course leads to a really big question: If the Great Beings know what they want to create (how to Reform the planet), but don’t know how to make it work exactly (hence sending Mata Nui to collect random space data) why didn’t they just make another Mask of Creation (or an equivalent device) to tell them how to do it to save them about 100,000 years? You could argue they may just not want to use that since it takes away the thrill of developing, planning and creating, but one a matter as important as THE END OF THE WORLD they may put that feeling aside. The fact that they can make a Mask of Creation presents some very interesting possibilities too, but I won’t go into that. As for the “MU Ark” idea, I guess you could argue taking a bunch of warring people and putting them on a giant Megazord would probably not lead to an immediately peaceful co-existence (it doesn’t even need to have been the Mata Nui Robot, I just refer to it since it proves the GBs were capable of interstellar travel) since they would just keep fighting and probably kill each other by the time you got anywhere. Then again, would that actually leave more dead than the Shattering or not? We don’t even know how many people or percentage of people the Shattering killed. But surely the GBs would still save some people? You could argue that they may have done so but we just don’t know about it, but for the sake of the debate we’re disregarding that possibility. And how did they get away with taking the amount of EP (probably comparable to the mass of the Moon, judging by the MU's size) that must have been needed to synthesise the MU while everyone else was dying to get mere scraps of it? If extracting the EP was causing the planet’s instability, does that mean the GBs were the biggest contributor to the Shattering? Surely taking that much mass would also effect the planet’s centre of gravity, which may even cause other worse disasters like the planet’s orbit unbalancing causing it to fall into one of the Solis Magnan binary stars or out the system entirely? You could counter this idea with the “Bionicle-Physics-Is-Not-Real-World-Physics” card. To that, I will express my immense displeasure towards Greg for doing that; to me it feels like a lack of imagination. I believe it started with Jaller being able to make flames underwater, and ever since it has been a rock to hide behind when convenient. A good sci-fi can do literally anything and blag a sciency sounding excuse (seriously, check out the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Doctor Who, heck, even real world Quantum Mechanics lol). For example you could say the GBs had tuned gravity generator at specific points on the planet to keep it stable, make the Shattering survivable, maintain atmospheres, and keep the pieces together in predictable orbits (i.e. how Bara/Bota/Aqua Magna didn’t fly apart but settled together nicely in a stable orbit around one another for 100,000 years). But, I digress. This wasn’t meant to be so much about the answers/theories but more the questions...perhaps it wasn’t my destiny c: So waddya guys think? Have I completely missed something? Are there good points among my terribly articulated thought-like question/counter-questions? If anyone can tell me, it’s the members of BZP...Or Greg, but he seems to have vanished GB style. Thanks for reading, and peace! :3
6. So, I recently read the final comic that Bionicle published, and I noticed something. Why did Teridax just beat Mata Nui around when he could have hit him with a giant bolt of Chain Lightning? Why couldn't he have used laser beams the size of mountains coming out of his eyes to vaporize MN's head? (Ys, I am aware that Teridax did use gravity to bring the other pieces of SM back, but why did he stop there?)
7. So, after the Matoran were awakened from Makuta's spheres by the Metru, how much did they remember? Did they at least know their names, or was that where the "corrupted names" (no idea what else to call them) come in? Did they have any vague memories of anything? Or did Teridax's spheres cause a complete wipe sparing only basic motor functions?
8. BATTLE OF BROTHERS One thing that I want to address before you read this story is that this is not a fully-written story in the sense of a story you may normally read from sources like a book, but a detailed explanation of how the story would have been written if it were fully fleshed out into a complete story. Also, this story only focuses on Mata Nui and his battle against Teridax. It does not go into detail on the battles that were waged inside of Teridax. With that being said and done, I hope you enjoy my version of how I wanted the story to end. I accept all forms of criticism and will ingore any hateful or flame responses. Essentially, the tribes would contribute to help bring together the parts of the prototype robot. In that time, Mata Nui would come to help and train the Glatorian in their newfound elemental powers and tell them of his own history, where he comes from, what he used to be and what happened to him. Initally, he would tell them that although as pwerful as he could be with the Ignika, he can't face the battle that lies ahead and that he fears that Teridax will come looking for him and what he may do to everyone if he fails. He asks that even though they had not known each other very long, that it would mean a great deal if they were willing to help Mata nui in his journey. The Glatoran would come to accept Mata Nui's offer, stating that nobody should have to suffer what Teridax is capable of. A few months would pass as Mata Nui learns to control the Prototype robot (and instead of transferring his consciousness into the body, he would pilot it like a robot like those seen in Pacific Rim), though in the beginning, they would be having trouble finding the necessary amount of power it would take to re-activate the robot. A flash of inspiration comes to Mata Nui as he walks close to the robot's hand and declares "Unity!". The Robot would come to life, running on it's own provided energy. When it comes time to leave Bara Magna, all the Glatoran and Agori would be inside the robot as Mata Nui makes final preparations. Kiina would walk in and talk to Mata Nui about him fulfilling his promise and that although she may sort-of miss the home she has known for many of her lifetime, she is very excited at the prospect of a new world to visit. Mata Nui would confront her that this is no ordinary trip to someplace new, but a battle that she may not come back from and asks if she is really sure she wants to come along. Kiina replies with a salute and replies "To Karzahni and back, I'll follow you. We all will follow you". Mata Nui smiles back and Kiina leaves. Mata Nui would exclaim "Duty!" as the Robot activates it's flight system and leaves Bara Magna, heading towards Aqua Magna where Teridax is still occupied with everyone inside Mata Nui's original body. They would arrive in a surprse attack on Teridax by catching him off-guard by hitting him in the head. Teridax would stagger but straighten up and turn to look at the opposer by stating "You dare attack me with such a weak attempt of an attack!". Mata Nui would reply back that it is comparable to Teridax's cowardiness and his lust for power, referring to the recent take-over of his original body. Teridax would come to the realization that the other robot is Mata Nui and questions him on how the Karzahni he is back here. Mata Nui would rush at Teridax and tackle him, causing them both to fall towards the ground. Doing this, Mata Nui would transmit all of the Glatorian into the Matoran Universe, while leaving the Agori to stay inside and help keep running the prototype robot. Teridax would punch mata Nui off of him and the two would engage in an epic battle with both utilizing the available powers that both of them have. In the end, both would be heavily damaged, though Mata Nui slightly more than Teridax. Teridax would tower over Mata Nui, who is kneeling in exhaustion. Teridax would exclaim that "At last, my brother kneels to the one true being who deserves this power" and that although he put up a good fight, it is time Mata Nui accepted his true destiny. Something deep snaps and awakens inside of Mata Nui. As Teridax pulls for the final blow, Mata Nui's eyes begin to brighten. Teridax throws the punch but Mata Nui catches it effortlessly and crushes the hand, sending onto Teridax a great pain. Mata Nui would question where all this power would be coming from but soon after senses where the power is coming from and who it is from, which happens to be coming from all the inhabitants of the Mata Nui robot who deny Teridax as their ruler. Mata Nui would be greeatly inspired and stands up, revilatized with energy as the Ignika he is wearing also glows with an intense brightness. Teridax would exclaim that something like this is impossible and runs at Mata Nui. Mata Nui would charge his right fist with all the power of the Prototype Robot, the Ignika and donated to him by the Matoran Universe. He pulls back his fist and shouts with all his might "Destiny!" as he punches right through Teridax's stomach and sends energy into the robot. This energy overloads Teridax, who loses control over the Robot and his essence es destroyed down to every atom, finally ending his life. The original Mata Nui robot begins cracking up as pure light seeps through all the opening of the Robot as it explodes in a mighty explosion so great that the shockwaves were felt throughout all the planets of the once great Spherus Magna. As the battle has finally ended, Mata Nui is glad that it's finally over before he collapses in exhaustion and loses conciousness. Mata Nui would then wake up an unknown specified amount of time later in a room he does not recognize. He would get up, looking around as he questions where he is before locking his gaze upon a door that leads outside. Mata Nui would open this door, his eyes blocked by sunlight before hearing and seeing every Matoran Universe inhabitant who opposed Teridax cheering for Mata Nui. Ackar, Kiina and Gresh would come up to Mata Nui and say that he's done it, that he's ended the reign of Teridax once and for all. Mata Nui would questioned what happened afterwards, to which Ackar replies that after the battle, they went to retrieve Mata Nui, who was unconcsious but very much alive. Mata Nui then gazes out upon the cheering crowd and thinks. He finally comes to a decision and asks for silence from the crowd. He adresses a speech, saying that he does not want to be seen as a God, nor does he want to be seen as a Hero. All that he wants is to be accepted... accepted as one of them and nothing more and that although Teridax may be gone, they still have new challenges ahead that will face them and he asks for their cooperation one more time, in the hope that together, they can build a new world, one where everybody is accepted, a world which will not be exploitable to those of great power, but a world which runs itself with it's inhabitants. He knows this is a great task and would not force such a great task upon anyone. He asks who will join him in this new quest, this new Unity, Duty... and Destiny. One person would start clapping, which is joined by more and more until everyone is clapping. Mata Nui is filled with joy at all those who will be helping rebuild for the future of a better world. Mata Nui would then ask if Toa Tahu would please come up to him. Tahu would approach, slighty nervous and Mata Nui would hold out his hand for a fistbump. Tahu would recipricate the fistbump, saying "It's a honour to meet you." while Mata Nui would hold out his hand for a handshake, which Tahu accepts. Mata Nui would then say "No, the honour is mine".The end. Author Notes 1. In my opinion, Teridax's original death by smashing his head was lackluster. In this version, I wanted to spice it up a bit and give it more of a "final" feel to getting red of the big bad of Bionicle. 2. If you are wondering why Mata Nui doesn't try to reason with Teridax, I have put Mata Nui as one being fed-up with Teridax. If written properly, I may have gone into detail on Mata Nui's final choice. 3. In this explanation, the prototype robot needs to be in contact with something to teleport individuals inside of it unlike it's successor, where it can teleport things inside of it without physical contact. 4. Okay, the part where the inhabitants of the MU "donate their energy" to Mata Nui seems a bit farfetched, but in a world as large and rich in fiction like Bionicle, I personally don;t see anything wrong with it. 5. If you are wondering how everyone survived the final blow dealt to Teridax, Mata Nui transported everyone inside of Teridax to inside of himself to keep them safe from the after-effects. Note 3 explains this teleportation method. 6. Tahu being nervuous, while may seem a bit out of character, would be understanable in a situation like that. It's Mata Nui after all, the being that they have been fighting for and to save his life. 7. I never liked Mata Nui just going into hibernation in the end of the original story, which is why I have him stick around in this version of the ending.
9. We all know how Mata Nui was dying and the Toa Mahri saved his life. The reason we are most commonly given is that his coma led to him almost dying. This would make sense, as normal people commonly die after being in a coma for too long. However, I think there is an alternative reason why. Metru Nui is the most vital spot in the MU. Without people working in the MU, Mata Nui will die. The Toa Metru evacuated the Metru Nui Matoran to the island of Mata Nui outside of the MU because of the damage the Visorak left behind. They lived for a millenia on Mata Nui and when they return to Metru Nui, they find out that Mata Nui is dying. I think Mata Nui was dying because the Metru Nui citizens evacuated Metru Nui, and no one was working there. With no one working in the most vital spot of the MU, Mata Nui started to die. Feel free to edit my theory and note my mistakes. Thank you.
10. BS01 states on their page on the Rebuilding that the Turaga showed the Matoran of Mata Nui how to rebuild themselves after the defeat of the Bohrok-Kal, with knowledge given to them by the Rahaga. My question is, why on Earth didn't the Turaga show them how to do this earlier in the 1,000 years they spend on the island of Mata Nui? I'm pretty sure it would have helped them a lot. X-Ray
11. After 6 months, here's finally a NEW TOPIC I made this drawing last summer, but I got to upload it only today. Here we go! [Click the thumbnail] This image was inspired by the songs 'Monday' and 'Beyond Monday' by The Glitch Mob, I suggest listening to them. I wanted to show a different aspect of the Toa Mata. I wanted them to look more aggressive, combative, powerful. I wanted might, motion (probably because I was looking at some parkour videos). I hope I was able to reach my aim, and of course I hope you like it. The drawing itself was made with a pencil, then I worked on it with Photoshop. Got something to say? Comments and criticism are appreciated, please leave a post EDIT (17/06/2013)Not sure anyone will ever see this, still... here's a coloured version I made some time ago LINK
12. A semi-setstyle Tahu inspired mostly by the D'Anda comics. His right arm is a bit messed up but I'd like to say it was twisted out of shape by a Bohrok or a lava surfing accident or something of the sort. I don't know why I neglected to put in the flame sword.
13. so a question for anyone who can answer it. how did Mata Nui discover new planets without the planet's inhabitants knowing? Bonesiii said in another topic that it was Camouflage, but how do you conceal something that massive? you could say that Mata Nui (island) did it, but it only covered his face. it's been bugging me how he did it. and i'm fairly certain that the inhabitants didn't know, otherwise at least one of the planet inhabitants would have surely started to attack it.
14. For as long as I can recall, it has been a goal of mine to be able to animate my own videos like the ones seen in Mata-Nui Online Game. Recently, I've begun planning a short film in the vein of those done by Templar that accompanied the BIONICLE.com news updates in 2002 and 2003. With the help of funds generated from http://www.bzpower.com/board/index.php?showtopic=7145]my B/S/T topic and the fact that Adobe gives you a discount if you are a student, I have acquired Flash. With this vital tool in hand, I have been able to begin animating. What I have to share today is a short test animation of Kapura. In it, I am familiarizing myself with Flash and Templar's animation style. Kapura goes through several different motions that are common to Matoran/Tohunga. ....I'll stop boring you with words now. The animation is below: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/VezokofZakaz/Flash/kapura.swf]Kapura Issues I am already aware of: - There is a strange and distracting clicking sound after some of the usual mechanical sound effects. - The frame rate is too fast. I will have to do a bit of tinkering to figure this out. As you probably know, this is also a problem with any of Templar's animations on modern computers. - Kapura's flame burp was too small and quick. It needs to be made more noticeable, and more closely timed to the sound effect. The symbols used are all the original creations of Templar Studios, and the sound effects are theirs as well, provided by that project of BIONICLE media. All due credit goes to them. Enjoy! Feedback is greatly appreciated.
15. Ignika - life. From a simple mask, it became a number of forms upon the journey to save the Great Spirit. I was running pretty low on spare parts to work with by the time I built him - the Matoran and Mata Nui-renditions had been done for a good while by that point - but I still wanted to get it done. I tried to show a progression through the forms here, where certain aspects were added-upon as the Mask carried on - this is mostly in the spear, the hips and legs, and the shoulders. Thanks for viewing.
16. "Photography is an art, I try to take good pictures wherever I go, But in the island of mata Nui everything is picture perfect its hard to take a bad picture" G'day blokes! on my recent trip to other dimensions i could not help but to stop by on Mata Nui and take a few pictures being the photography maniac that I am, Here is the beach lewa washed up on http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/tobduk/irl/dsc01633.jpg very nice cove, very nostalgic for me, it harkens back to the days of mystic canisters. 17. Soooo after only a year and 2 months...I finally have the next chapter up in my comedy, Mata Nui High School If you'd like to check it out and let me know what you think, that'd be great! Until then, remember disco is in this year! -Jordboy1
18. HELLO BZPOWER COMMUNITY!! It has come to my attention that apparently (quote from BS01) "Onua later saved a dozen Matoran by using his tunneling skills to create an escape for them, encountering and defeating a Doom Viper along the way." Does anybody know when this happened or when it was mentioned. This supposedly happened sometime during the quest for the masks. The Bionicle Encyclopedia Updated says that no Doom Vipers were ever seen on Mata Nui. Could someone please offer a clarification?
19. They intended to make a third robot but didn't. So do you think they expected their giant robot project to reform Spherus Magna would fail, or if they expected the prototype robot to be restored and used in place of it?
20. The Adventurer's Guide to Mata Nui The Adventurer's Guide to Mata Nui's article on itself states that it is a collection of articles on different places, people, and objects in the Mata Nui robot, as well as a guide to see the wonders of the robot for less than 30 widgets a day. It also says that you should go to your local bookstore and buy one now, instead of the Encyclopedia Mata. One wonders why it says this, as you can only read this article if you've bought one. Unless you have a penchant for being chased out of bookstores by Matoran yelling “THIS IS NOT A LIBRARY!”, in which case you need serious help, and you should check the article titled “Psychiatrists”. One of the most remarkable things about the Guide, and one of its major selling points, is DON'T FREAK OUT, written in large, friendly letters on the cover. One of the few good pieces of advice most see during their daily lives, it comforts more than all the articles in the Encyclopedia on ash bears put together. The Guide has this to say on ash bears: Ash Bears: Getting thrashed by an ash bear is much like downing a Muaka's Bane from Tomar's bar in Ta-Koro. You don't smell good, feel good, or look good in the morning. They can be avoided by staying out of their territory, which is marked by an angry, 3 bio tall bear. The Guide goes on to say that instead of roaming the dangerous forests of Le-Wahi, you should go to Tomar's and have a Muaka's Bane. Same result, but much more enjoyable in the meantime, as well as very reasonably priced. The Encyclopedia, in a long series of articles, states the feeding habits of Ash Bears, mating habits, and overall nothing of use to any but an Archivist. The Guide's note on the Encyclopedia is: Encyclopedia Mata: An exhaustive compilation of useless information gathered by a bunch of ninnies who are only good for stealing money from more worthy publications and feeding to your pet ash bear. Oddly enough, the Encyclopedia stated the same thing about the Guide. Until it was conclusively proved that going to Tomar's saves lives. The Guide won the following copyright lawsuit, and now enjoys the ability to legally put copies of their book on top of the Encyclopedia on store shelves. This tiny tidbit of extra rights after such an expensive battle has been taken by many to prove the uselessness of existence, and that everyone should just run into the forest and hang upside down. The rate of lunacy, suicide and people lost to Ash Bears has been raised tremendously. Strangely, so has the number of customers at Tomar's. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Final word count: 456 So yeah. The actual story will begin next chapter, this is an introductory post. I might have guest stars once the story gets going, but currently you can suggest articles for me to work in. Comments and constructive criticism appreciated!

22. http://gand.bandcamp.com/track/bohrok]Bohrok This is an ambient/minimal/drone piece inspired by the scene in the Mata Nui online game when Takua finds the Bohrok swarms. It was mainly inspired by the music from those games (particularly the Kahu-riding sequence and the Mangaia music) as well as by Tim Hecker and Daniel Lopatin's recent collaborative album Instrumental Tourist. I may do more of these.
23. It’s all finished, Vakama thought, looking out from his window at the glory that was New Atero. The Matoran had not had peace for this long since the days when they still lived cluelessly and peacefully inside the body of the Great Spirit Mata Nui--perhaps in their entire history. It took a while to get the Original Thousand* from Mata Nui used to living among other species, but after a few years they warmed up to it; there were no real conflicts aside from a few street fights; there was a stable government that he was glad not to be a part of. He had announced his decision not to be part of the Council with none of the backlash he expected, as three of the other Turaga felt the exact same way as he did; the remaining two, Nokama and Onewa, were now sitting high and comfortable in the Coliseum above New Atero, discussing the acquisition of land with a bunch of disgruntled Srakan and Glatorian diplomats. Vakama’s mind turned to the other Turaga. He hadn’t seen Nuju in ages; Whenua and Matau were retired, as he was, and living in other cities. He had heard rumors that some of the others were still meeting. He didn’t really care; though he was once the leader, he was now the excluded one, and the others had used this peacetime to vent some of their personal problems upon him. The Three Virtues were considered by all--including, increasingly, Vakama himself--an old myth. Nobody really needed to unite for any reason; there wasn’t any Great Spirit to take care of anymore; and there hadn’t been any Toa for three thousand years, so most people assumed Destiny in its ultimate form had been achieved. “Not an unfair assumption,” Vakama said to himself, shrugging as he thought of his last argument with Nokama.A knock came on the door. Vakama was surprised. He picked up his staff and hobbled to the door. It was a Toa; Vakama recognized him as Kooms, the leader of the local Toa team. Why would a Toa want business with me? Vakama wondered. He could only think of two reasons: that he was under arrest or that he was being summoned to the Coliseum. He wasn’t sure which one sounded worse.“Walk with me,” Kooms said. “Don’t worry, you’re not under arrest.”Coliseum then, Vakama thought to himself. He began to brace himself for the inevitable shots the other Turaga would take at him. Thankfully, Kooms led him away from the Coliseum, down the street towards the chute station.“There’s going to be another Time Slip,” Kooms stated casually, not even looking at Vakama. “A Time Slip?” Vakama inquired.“Do you remember on Metru Nui when everyone woke up and couldn’t remember a thing?”“Sounds like the morning after every Naming Day.""No, this is serious. Six months of history disappeared. You certain you don't remember it?""No.""Well, it happened, and it's about to happen again."“How do you know?”“Mask of Balance. Whenever something’s off in space or time, I’m the first to know about it. I felt it about three days ago.”“Why are you telling me, then? And where are you taking me?”“We’re going to the Bronze District. I’ll explain everything once we get there.”The two arrived at the chute station and hopped on the express chute south towards the Bronze District. Vakama had not been to the Bronze District in at least several years that he could remember; it was one of New Atero’s poorest neighborhoods, set on the periphery of the city, and was mostly home to Skakdi and Telkerrians who had settled in New Atero after the Great Exodus out of the Matoran Universe. To his memory, Vakama had never seen a Skakdi until his first time in that particular district; he had heard that they were violent and unreasonable, and to be safe, he never interacted with them. They disembarked from the chute. The Bronze District wasn’t half as bad as Vakama remembered. Rather than small iron shacks, there were rows of brightly-painted houses; there were a few Skakdi on the street but mostly Le-Matoran and Ga-Matoran. The Skakdi moved in tight-knit groups; the Matoran were aloof and did not seem to interact much with each other. Vakama could hear music; there appeared to be some sort of small street fair a few blocks ahead.“Is that where we’re going?” Vakama inquired.“Actually it’s this left.”Kooms led Vakama into a small, deserted alley between two of the painted houses. It was empty except for a few trash cans; a small catlike Rahi darted out from behind one and climbed a fence into someone’s yard.“This is our spot.”Kooms gestured to an inconspicuous pink-and-white house. He knocked on the door, very loudly. As soon as the door creaked open in response, Vakama was greeted by a blast of loud music and the smell of burning erriax flowers; he registered the Matoran at the door a few seconds afterwards. It was Hafu.“Hey, Vakama,” Hafu muttered; he carried a piece of paper in his hand, which he idly scanned. Turning to Kooms, he inquired, “Are you here for the meeting?”“Yes.”“You guys just made it in time. Come in.”Hafu’s house was filled with long, elaborate strands of Kiratan thread; countless small sculptures lay around, some mounted on furniture and windowsills, others haphazardly placed on tables. A rope hung curiously from the ceiling and lay coiled across the floor. The smell of incense and erriax flowers was overpowering. It was the house of an artist, albeit either a very lazy one or one so devoted to his craft that everything else was neglected. Another Matoran was sprawled on one of the couches, seemingly asleep, but there didn’t seem to be anyone else there.“I’d like to see the new machine you’ve been telling me about,” Kooms said to Hafu.“Well I’m about to show you,” the sculptor said with a half-smile. He walked over to one of the sculptures, a huge Mata Nui head, and rotated it; at first Vakama thought he was adjusting its position, but there was a click, and a massive trapdoor fell open beneath the rope. The rest of the rope unraveled and dangled down.“A Hafu original,” Hafu said.“You’ll have to explain to me how that works at some point,” Kooms said.“It’s simple. The statue’s attached to a lever, when I turned it the support beam fell. Are we ready to head down?” Hafu suddenly exclaimed to the room.“If we’re all here,” Kooms answered.Upon peering into the pit, Vakama was surprised at its shallowness; it was only about six feet deep, enough for a Matoran to stand in but not most other entities. Another small door was set into the wall. The Toa climbed down effortlessly, while Hafu and Vakama had to rely on the rope. Hafu came down first and took Vakama’s staff as the Turaga slid down, burning his hands from the friction. Vakama and Kooms were equally shocked to see what lay behind the door. Behind it was a small flight of steps that descended to the floor of a vast space, at least the size of the main square of Ta-Koro back on Metru Nui, though with a ceiling not much higher than that of Hafu’s house. It looked to be an old reservoir or storage room, most likely of Agori origin; clusters lightstones set into the floor every twenty feet or so illuminated the place with a harsh glow undercut by spaces of darkness. “What is this place?” Kooms asked.“It’s an old Agori reservoir. Must have dried up millenia ago. I put in lightstones and built the trapdoor. Nobody except me and my friends know about it. And now you do.”They walked through the vast space; there was still a slight smell of erriax flowers. As they moved deeper, Vakama became aware of the voices of people, then of a large group of at least twenty; most of them appeared to be Toa, but there were also several Matoran. The shapes became clearer. Takanuva was there, along with Jaller, Hahli, Kongu, Hewkii, Nuparu, Tahu, Gali, and Kopaka; Vakama wondered for a second why the others were not there before he remembered that Pohatu and Lewa had been on a mission for several months and that Onua was now a Turaga serving on the council of a distant city. Vakama recognized all the Matoran, for they were part of the Original Thousand who had come with the Toa Metru from the Old City to the island of Mata Nui. Kapura, the master of traveling great distances by walking very slowly, was there; so were Macku, Taipu, Midak, Tamaru, the hermit Kantai, and the Chronicler Kopeke. There were also three Toa Vakama did not recognize: a tall Toa of Air, an even taller Toa of Water, and what Vakama was pretty certain was a Toa of Sonics. Vakama was dismayed to see Whenua, Matau, and Nuju, but thankfully Nokama and Onewa were not present. Kooms addressed the crowd.“By being here you are sworn to secrecy. It doesn’t matter, because you will soon forget everything you learned here. When, I cannot say. If you reveal anything you have learned here to anyone else, you are endangering Matoran society and may potentially cause rioting and widespread panic.“Most of what I have already told you about the Time Slip is a lie. The Time Slip is an initiative by the group I represent, the Order of Mata Nui; it is being engineered specifically to erase the period between the first Great Cataclysm and the second, the one that occurred so recently when the body of Mata Nui crashed here and we left it to inhabit this new world we call Spherus Magna. This is so that the nature of the Great Spirit is kept secret from the world. The history of the Matoran Universe during that time is safe with us; however, none of you were in the Matoran Universe at the time. You were living on what you called the island of Mata Nui. Thus, your memories of this time will be lost if they are not preserved.“We have gathered every single scrap ever written about the island of Mata Nui in this room, accounts from the two Chroniclers Takua and Hahli. They stand before you as Toa, soon to have no memory of how they became such. But we need more. This is why we have called each of you here to provide as many of your memories of living on that island as possible. Unless you choose to leave, in which case you will forget every memory you ever had of Mata Nui with no hope of retrieving them, each of you will be given one day to recount as much as you choose. Tell stories; do not merely rattle off facts. We must know through your experiences, not the trivia you have acquired. These records will be kept by the Order, and if you come to us and ask, you may view them. I willl make sure you do not forget that piece of information. However, your memories will still be erased. You will not be spared by the Time Slip. This is only for safety. You will be as clueless as the rest of us. “And I would like to apologize deeply, to every single one of you, and assure you that this will never happen again. Not if we make sure it never needs to. Thank you.”The members of the crowd had been silently staring at each other in shock for a while, and they immediately burst into uproar upon receiving this news. Vakama had stood there silently, soaking up Kooms’ words; he had suspected this even before the Toa had begun speaking. As soon as he had seen the Toa of Sonics, and remembered where he had seen that face before so many years ago, he had realized the full truth.Review topic (and information on footnotes): http://www.bzpower.c...?showtopic=7436
