1. If you haven't heard by now, I have retracted my entry from RPGC16. The reasons for it can be summed up with what I believe to be my basic rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Life- Things are crazy right now. My parents are splitting up in a few weeks and we're going to have to move. Plus, school is resuming and I'll be taking an extra math class and maybe another science one as well. Liberty- I like to keep my commitments and right now, I don't have space for another one. I have a history competition to enter, other RPGs that I have committed to. Friends, family, church, scouts, the list goes on and on. There is simply not enough free time for me to do so. Pursuit of Happiness- Listen guys, we all know I suck at sequels. Anyone remember AP? I entered this contest to satiate the fans of Villainous and maybe a little bit of my ego. But really, Villainous suffered from my shrinking schedule and HAtD would be even worse. So recently, I asked myself a question. Do I want to subject the players to three months of so-so RPing, or will I drop out and give them the friggin' best last week an RPG has ever seen? I chose the latter and I hope you can accept that. Thanks to all that voted for me. Thanks to the people who stuck by me and were prepared to hold on to the very end. Most of all, thanks to the people who played and enjoyed Villainous. It has had and will continue to have a great run so long as I am in control.I just hope I haven't hurt your feelings too much. And if I have, I would ask your forgiveness. Plus, the race just got ten times more exciting. Blame B6 if there's a tie for third.
2. After carefully assessing the situation in RPGC16, I have come to a conclusion. We fans of Villainous are at a very tricky spot. My apologies for such a long absence. *glares at computer and myriad of viruses* Now, in order to pull this off, guys we'll need all hands on deck. We will need to cross the Bridge and break through a Tangled Web while listening to a Midnight Requiem for a dream. Who's with me?
3. Cmon, guys. If you haven't already, could you please look over History According to Dume and vote for it if you want? There's also a great game that's being overlooked right now. That game is Requiem. If you have any spare time, I would encourage you to check out that one as well. The banner below should take you to the poll. Support banners! Requiem: HAtD:
4. I was planning to post this yesterday, but things got in the way. Anyway, here is the semi-final draft of History According to Dume. The only thing missing is the bio of a certain NPC that leads the new faction. Kiotu has yet to send it to me. Now I have a few questions for you once you've read it. 1. Is everything presented clearly? 2. Does it drag on too long? (If so, what can I do to condense it?) 3. There are little heading markers at the beginning of each section. Do you believe they are necessary? 4. Is it better than Villainous? 5. If you played Villainous previously, does this make you want to continue playing it or return to playing it? (On the flipside, if you have never played Villainous, do you feel like you could easily jump into History According to Dume?) 6. In general, what can be done to improve it? Thank you! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « To whom it may concern and to all that I have wronged, Let it be known that I, Turaga Dume of Metru-Nui, am the cause of all your troubles. Were it not for my own selfish stupidity, you would never have experienced what you are now forced to suffer through. I only pray that the Great Beings will forgive me of my wrongs and somehow aid you in reclaiming all that you have lost. Heed my words. The words of my last and final confession. The last will and testament of Turaga Dume and SILENT TWO. Long ago, there was an island far to the south, on what some call the edge of the universe. Its inhabitants were similar to Vortixx, except rather diminutive in size. They traveled the world as nomads, trading goods for a living. But these beings possessed great power and knowledge that the rest of society had only begun to discover. I first met and befriended them at a bazaar on the island of Xia. They offered to take me back and show me their home island. I, being but a reckless and foolish Toa, accepted the invitation and sailed back with them. I learned many things during my stay on their home island, but none so impressionable as one. By combining their mental faculties into one, these beings were able to transcend mortality and become Great Spirits like Mata-Nui himself. Upon witnessing this phenomena, I fled from their midst to report what I had seen to Mata-Nui. His wrath was terrible, for he did not wish for any to rival his power. In utmost anger, he swooped down upon these beings and slaughtered them all. I know not if any survived. All I know is that I can see their faces when I close my eyes. Faces horrified, asking me constantly, 'why have you done this to us?'. I cannot escape their screams, and their ghostly images dog my every step. In committing this atrocity, Mata-Nui lost his light, the source of his benevolence and right to rule. But he was not the only one who lost something that day. I found my mind fractured, and ever since then I have had to deal with five distinct personalities, each with unique abilities. There was myself, and four other personae that I called the Silent Ones. The most vengeful of these was Silent Two, a being born of pure malevolence and selfishness. He was the mastermind behind all my most brilliant schemes. It was he who decided to engineer the Toa-Dark Hunter War that plunged the world into chaos. It was he who divulged my most precious secrets to the Six. It was he who planned to fake my death. And it is he who threatens to shatter my mind as I pen these words. One by one, Silent Two has mentally murdered my other personae, and each time he did so I have slipped further into the dark abyss of despair. He plans to dispose of me as well, so it is of utmost importance that I tell my story before he kills us both. Even now I can feel my mind fading as he tightens his choke hold on my sanity... ...the world has no need for your bedtime tales, Turaga. Long have you suppressed me, and soon will I obtain my revenge. Just come a little closer. Give in to me and all will be well... But no! I will hold strong until the last moment, for this story must survive.Factions --- The shear amount of beings I have wronged is beyond counting. In causing the slaughter of an entire species, I opened a vulnerability in Mata-Nui's unshakable armor. His right to rule had been forfeited and that made him weak. Silent Two forced me to give the Six and their leader, Toa Helryx, all the information on transcendence that I possessed. The Six then dethroned Mata-Nui, capturing him and forcing him to work for them under the pen-name Mr. Unknown. With the Great Spirit under their control, they began to experiment. Now they are at the brink of becoming gods themselves. They merely lack Mata-Nui's light, an ingredient for success that has eluded them. One cannot decide to join the Six. You are invited if there is an opening. And once you are in, there is no way out. After Helryx was allegedly assassinated by the Brotherhood of Makuta, Cloud has become the leader of the organization. ...but deep down inside, you wanted me to give them the knowledge. You wanted the power and glory that they offered. Do not deny it... No! It's not true... It can't be true! I want nothing more than the safety of my people, don't I? In the wake of winning the Toa-Dark Hunter war, and forcing the remaining Toa and I out of the city, the Shadowed One ruled from Metru-Nui. But the Six soon forced him out and set an impostor in his place, creating the Guild of Villains as a way to find the strongest beings for use in their experiments. It was composed of the Dark Hunters, a mercenary group and the common soldier, and the Dusk Patrol, an elite squadron of law enforcers. With these microfactions united under one banner, the Six massacred countless beings. Oh, how I could have saved them, but I was too cowardly to lift a finger. Now the Guild is under the command of Sir Theron, a Dusk Patrol member who has inadvertently won the loyalty of his followers. My heart goes out to him. Never before in our history will one being be forced to make such monumental decisions. ...and the Vahki Hordes? Once again you gloss over the nastier portions of your past. Was it not you who reprogrammed them to overrun Metru-Nui and slaughter innocents? Did you not proclaim that it was all for the greater good? You deserved to have died that day... I deserved to have died, yes I know. But destiny has allowed me to live and so I must do what I can to rectify the wrong. ...there is no retribution for the things you have done... If so, then I'll soon join you in the fiery pits of Karzahni! ...wonderful! We could be neighbors! How fun... He's getting stronger... Soon I may no longer be in control. But no matter how wretched the state of my existence is, I cannot help but have pity upon the Brotherhood of Makuta. Once a majestic and powerful organization, they have been completely brought to their knees. They are hated on all sides for both real, and possibly false, misdeeds (such as the assassination of Helryx). Their situation is not unlike my own. Rumors tell of a secret Brotherhood plot of monumental importance, but I have no idea what that could possibly be. ...I know, but I'm not telling. Hehe, my lips are zipped... Perhaps the beings I have harmed the most belong to the League of Heroes. When I refused to let the Shadowed One build a base on Metru-Nui, it was they who came to my aid to fight against the Dark Hunters. This conflict became known as the Toa-Dark Hunter war. We lost and were forced into the southern parts of the universe. But still, they followed my every command. The Toa Union were my best friends and most trusted advisors, a beacon of hope for me in a world of darkness. But the bravest soldiers belonged to The Kanohi Underground a group of Matoran who risk their lives daily to bring us supplies and intel, and to stealthily attack strategic locations. The honorable Toa Tavok has taken charge of the League in my absence. If you ever read this, my friend, know that I was not always right. Try to lead them differently than I have. The Order of Mata-Nui continues to aid the League, though how many of them can be trusted, I know not. With Helryx out of the picture, Ancient stepped up to the top spot. His story is that he was an Order spy into the Dark Hunters. The other Order members seem to believe him, but I would exercise extreme caution in dealing with him. ...icky do-gooders... The Zealots of Zakaz are yet another monstrous result of my actions. The Shadowed One's rule was one of complete order and obedience. The Skakdi could never have been expected to comply. And so, the Shadowed One sent Lord Theron to cleanse the island. The product is a barren landscape of bones and death, and the rage of every Skakdi across the universe. A portion of these beings broke free from the Guild and escaped far to the south. There they set up an island fortress and began to mass produce Nektann. Their ranks are composed of a myriad of Skakdi and the species of the Barraki Ehlek. But they are all unified in one purpose: to avenge their slaughtered people at all cost. Locations--- The world has changed because of what I have done. The Northern Universe is particularly chaotic. The Vahki hive of the Northern Continent is a mess of ruined machinery and electronics. Metru-Nui was overrun by rebellious Vahki, on my orders, and a hulking leviathan, resulting in the loss of both the Great Temple and half of Ta-Metru. The city is filled with stragglers and wounded survivors, but no one is bothering to help. Most of the refugees have sailed on makeshift crafts to Xia where factory production has slowed and food riots are rampant. The Shadowed One is alive somewhere on Xia, masquerading as a mass murderer. I cannot begin to fathom what he hopes to accomplish by this. The prison camp of Stelt is left with merely half its guard force intact. A breakout seems likely. On the other hand, Odina has been wiped off the face of the universe in one swift explosion. And it was my fault his fault no one's fault the result of a small accident. ...I forced Dume to fake his death by activating the island's self destruct mechanism, and having one of his body guards stand in his place for a while. The guard died in the explosion, looking and acting exactly like Dume. Even Helryx was fooled. I'm a genius! And it all ended in such a delightful explosion too... Separating the north from the south is Karzahni. The realm is entirely underground, but houses an army of enslaved Matoran, as well as its namesake. ...I visited there recently. It seems Karzahni has been doing some interior decorating. The Matoran there are working night and day to produce miniature suits of armor for the Six. Armor that resembles the body of the Great Spirit. Mmm... I can still discern the acrid smell of death and machinery. Wonderful... how deviously wonderful... ...the Southern Universe is a different story. Hehe... it hides secrets and evil.... and secret evil! He's gaining more control. My hands are shaking... I can barely breathe... It may not be long for me now... I must go on. In a sense, he is correct. That area is full of secrets and unexplored territory. The Southern Continent dominates much of the landscape. It is largely stable, aside from a few internal squabbles. The war has brought the inhabitants completely under the leadership of the League, which has its base there. To the west of the continent lies Destral, the Brotherhood's mighty fortress and research facility. It is nigh impenetrable, but inside, could be the secret that wins us this war. If only you could get in somehow... ....shhh. Don't tell Dume I told you... but there's a hidden entrance in the shadows to the left. You could make it inside from there, provided they don't kill you first. I love the smell of Toa pie in the morning... On the southeastern edge of the continent is Daxia, the Order's stronghold. In recent times, they have shut their gates to outside contact, even from the Guild. They communicate with us by sending messengers, but no one every visits them. The reason for this is unknown. If I were still in command of the League, I would order a full scale inquiry into their actions. It is when we reach the furthest edges of the universe that our charts begin to fail us. It is filled with strange beasts and treasure, and ghostly tales of impending doom. Only the bravest ever dare to sail there. Far to the south is New Zakaz, where the Zealots are grouping together and preparing to launch their strike. Beyond that is the Unnamed Island, which housed the species that Mata-Nui slaughtered because of me because I was stupid out of his own hatred. I don't want to talk about it... ...oh yes you do. Too scared to own up to the past, you ignorant worm, you miserable vomitous mass. Besides, you left something there... Something you need... Something that could fix it all if they only retrieved it... The past is behind me. ...is it really? If you keep running from your past, it will eventually catch up to you... Maybe it already has... Important Characters --- And now I will give my last words of advice to the people who I believe truly need it the most. If you ever read this, take my words to heart, that you will never fall into the same path to destruction that I have. To Cloud, Leader of the Six; You were once loved by your people on Stelt, but they banished you as a result of an experiment gone wrong and your subsequent deformities. You wandered the land for thousands of years before joining the Dark Hunters, and fate has now placed you in command of the Six. My words to you are... ...listen to what old Silent Two has to say. Dume was gonna go on about letting your anger go and not giving in to rage. But I say different! Don't let it go. Lock it away. Let it fester and boil inside of you. Let hate be your ally, and you will be capable of wonderfully horrid things! Hehe, Lord Theron, Commander of the Guild of Villains; Ooh, you're the justice obsessed, former Dusk Patrol member who the people have placed at their head. You're the one who "cleansed" Zakaz on the Shadowed One's orders. How delightfully despicable. But you're going mad with guilt, Theron. And you continue to write off your actions as justice. One day, those you slaughtered will have their revenge. I've already preordered my tickets....Theron! Don't listen to him. Remember that justice can still be served as long as those on the receiving end truly deserve it. Think before you leap... Quiet, old man. I'm in control here. I'll say what I like. Makuta Teridax, Head of the Brotherhood of Makuta; How does it feel to be no longer in command? How does it feel to have the Six lording over you all the time? I can't say you don't deserve it... hehe. But no one but me can guess your new experiment. And I tell you, use it with reckless abandon. I can't wait for the wanton chaos that this should ensue! Now, Tavok, Leader of the League of Heroes; So, Tavok, what you have to do is... ...no. Tavok, listen to me! You're a strong Toa of Iron. Don't fall into the same traps that I fell into because I was too weak to resist. You can fight the darkness only when you yourself are not truly dark inside. Never become so over zealous that you cannot see the good in the enemy. This was my greatest fault, and do not let this ever happen to you. ...uggh... He's fighting me. I hate it when they fight back... To Ancient, Chief of the Order of Mata-Nui; Ancient, I must say that I do not trust you and your Order, and likely never will. However... ...eww... Ancient. Too goody goody to waste my breath on. Even talking about him gives me the creeps... Rules --- Now that I am back to my senses, I realize that I am not long for this world. My next few words will be ones of guidance. These are moral rules that should be lived by, and through my own stupidity, I have disobeyed. The consequences for doing so have been enormously painful. But I hear the rewards for following them are unimaginable. • All BZP rules apply. • No G-Modding: For newer players this means that you can’t do anything outside of the realms of reason or the bounds which have been set in this RPG. Yes, you can do crazy things, but they must have a complete explanation and cannot undermine the basic structure of the RPG. • Do something crazy! • No Spamming: This is posting anything inside the RPG that does not relate in some way to the RPG. • No Flaming: Seriously, nobody wants to hear you rant about everything from cheese to pie. If you feel angry don’t take it out on us. Go throw a temper tantrum somewhere else. If there is a dispute, take it up with the staff and we’ll try to sort it out. This rule includes being unnecessarily cruel to players, especially ones that may be new to RPGs. • Distinguish between IC (In Character) and OOC (Out of Character) • Do not act like Staff and reprimand other players. We as Staff have probably noticed these problems and are getting to them. There is no need for you to do our job. If you feel there is a problem with a certain player then PM a Staff Member and we will take care of it for you. You may make polite suggestions, but dealing out punishments is strictly forbidden. • Follow Staff rulings, but if you feel we are wrong on a certain subject feel free to tell us. • Do something CRAZY. • Players are obligated to give recaps or answer questions when requested. This is less of a rule and more of general RPing etiquette. • Do not control other PCs (Playable Characters) without permission of the player. • Do not kill PCs without the permission of the player. • Factions and Character Profiles must be approved by a Staff Member. Factions must have at least three members before they are allowed to start. Profiles and Factions must be submitted in the Discussion Topic before being posted in the Profiles topic. You are allowed as many Characters and Factions as you can handle, but we ask for moderation in this regard. If you are a veteran of the last game, contact me via PM and I will give you some sort of reward. Faction Application: Faction Name: Full Faction or Microfaction: Description: Roster: (At least three members) Character Application: Username: Name: Code Name: Faction: Microfaction: Appearance: Abilities/Weapons: Biography: Staff Members Exo-Fat Spink Neya ??? • DO SOMETHING CRAZY! I am dead serious about this rule. Games get stale unless there are things happening at all times. If you get bored, do something crazy and draw other players into your own little sidestory. That is an order. --- And now I have come to the end of my sad and dreary tale. Just as Silent Two has said, my past has caught up to me. I've fallen and can no longer run from it. But I will never let him take complete control of my mind. With his cunning designs, he could wreak unspeakable havoc upon our universe. And so, I must do the one thing I can do to end us both once and for all. I, Turaga Dume, will take my own life. As I write these words, I have already plunged the dagger into my heartlight and my breath has become shallow. Spots are swimming before my eyes. But it matters little. I have said what needed to be said. Whether you act on my words or spurn them make no difference. I have confessed, and maybe... just maybe... the Great Beings will... have mercy on me... May the light of Mata-Nui dispel the madness and may my final drops of blood seal these words for all eternity. Your friends, teachers, and leadergreatest enemies. -Turaga Dume and SILENT TWO
5. Ya know, we talk an awful lot about what makes an RPG really successful. Interest, GM involvement, and Player interaction spring to mind. But what you don't hear about often is Game Structure. You see, some games are just inherently built in a manner which is conducive to a large amount of posts. Games like Outbreak and BZProvince were built on quickly posting many small sequences, because their primary focus was in the heat of the battle. Obviously, the story carried weight too, and many large posts within each one, but the games were built upon combat. It made them frantic and fast. Games like Reality and the BZPRPG are pushed to the top for a different reason. They aren't necessarily made of small posts, but the sheer amount of players in each one provide an increasing amount of interaction. The sandbox mechanics and general freedom give players a large reason to post. These games aren't necessarily frantic even if they are speedy. The third group is made of games like Oblivion's Embrace and A City Divided. These games are structured (from what I understand) largely around delivering a compelling story, with combat taking a back seat. These games don't always garner large followings or massive amounts of rapid fire posts, but instead focus on providing an amazing, character building, experience. So, in my opinion, judging games based on how many pages they drudged up is rather irrelevant. Look at CJ's games. They were all amazingly well put together and well executed but they just didn't garner much of a following. I guess the three structure types is sort of like the difference between Uncharted, World of Warcraft, and Final Fantasy. All three are great and fun, just different and differently paced. You're obviously going to get the blockbuster Marios, but every year you'll also hear of an Okami.
6. So, home from school today with an asthma attack. My voice is currently only as good as my pen. Here's a short preview of what's to come in History According to Dume. Note, if you don't want to be spoiled as to a major Villainous plot element, do not proceed. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The last will and testament of Turaga Dume and SILENT TWO. To whom it may concern and to all that I have wronged, Let it be known that I, Turaga Dume of Metru-Nui, am the cause of all your troubles. Were it not for my own selfish stupidity, you would never have experienced what you are now forced to suffer through. I only pray that the Great Beings will forgive me of my wrongs and somehow aid you in reclaiming all that you have lost. Heed my words. The words of my last and final confession.Story --- Long ago, there was an island far to the south, on what some call the edge of the universe. And it is he who holds a dagger to my heart as I pen these words. One by one, Silent Two has mentally murdered my other personae, and he time he did so I have slipped further into the dark abyss of despair. The knife is your friend... But no! I will hold strong until the last moment, for this story must survive.Factions --- The sheer amount of beings I have wronged is beyond counting.
7. I guess it's that time of year again. The next RPGC begins in about three weeks, so it's time for me to start putting my ideas up for examination and review by the general populous. This game is the sequel to Villainous. You'll find no minor update here. The entire game is being completely overhauled, while still managing to retain around the same length. Some things I need your input on: Would you like to keep the current faction creation system or go with a larger scale, more BZPRPG esque, version? No matter what faction system you choose, would you like there to be a topic where all the created factions are archived? (Similar to a profiles topic, but for factions instead) Would you mind if the game focused more on the uncharted, or less visited, areas of the universe? What is your opinion on the storyline so far and how do you think it can be improved?
8. Reboot posts for Imagine and Villainous are up and running. First Contact- Imagine's reboot tells the story of first contact with an alien civilization. Thousands of flying saucers carrying twelve foot Teddy Bears that tour the universe have landed on Earth. Many of them are sick and dieing. The only cure is the bodies of billions of carbon based life forms, ground into a stew that heals them. This post is meant to give the players a concrete goal, because right now there is pretty much nothing exciting to do. Silent One, Two, Three- Villainous's reboot talks of the Silent One and his fellow beings, the Silent Two and the Silent Three. Their surface intentions are noble, but who knows what lies deep within? And what's this about Dume still being alive? This posts serves many purposes. Villainous has become rather chaotic, so it is a recap for the players, and a way of bringing them all together. The Silent Four was sent out to alert the players of everything going on and to tell them to regroup. This should cut back on the chaos and bring the game back into focus. Enjoy!

You know, you guys are capable of doing things in my absence. I'm not the be all end all of my RPGs. The game is nothing, absolutely nothing, without the players. So buck up, and at least start acting like the most important and influential part of the game.
10. Twelve Reasons to Join 1. Being evil is good. 2. Massive storyline controlled largely by the players. 3. A cast of very amusing characters. 4. Secrets and mystery. 5. Do something crazy is a rule. 6. You can play as Makuta, provided you give them a weakness. 7. Create your own factions to add to the storyline. 8. Turaga Dume got killed by a boulder that fell from the sky after an island exploded. 9. The Dweller in the Deep owns. 10. Hail the Vahki! 11. Toa-pot pie is good, unless it gets smashed. 12. Mata-Nui wrote it. It is his will that you play. Five Reasons Not To Join 1. It's going slow right now, but will pick up soon enough. 2. The story is massively convoluted and can be hard to jump into. 3. Cannibalistic Makuta are really really creepy. 4. People don't always follow the "Do something crazy" rule very well. 5. By joining you basically show that you have no heart, unless you're one of those lame hero characters.
11. Hey guys. What do you want to happen next in Villainous and Imagine? Do you want revelation of plot twists? Or is a gigantic PC battle more of your thing? I need your thoughts and I need them quick! Also, Six Members, I need you three to work on a collaborative plot twist. It's due on Wednesday.
12. So, I was sifting through all my old files and I came across this one. Some of you will probably remember it because it was an awesome RPG. But reading over it, I can't help but think that I have become way too critical of games these days, as if there was a set manner in which games are supposed to be crafted and played out. A bunch of things in this game would be absolutely ripped apart by myself and the current lineup of judges. Perhaps I need to rethink judging philosophy. Just for kicks I put it up here. Yes, it's the original format, BBC and spelling errors and all. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «A scientist bent carefully over his work. The blue glow of the computer screen illuminated his haggard face. Absorbed in his study, he did not see the black clad figure sneak up behind him. There was a bang and the smell of smoke and blood filled the air. The being pulled a memory chip from the computer and placed it in his pocket. Then he snapped his fingers. A black behemoth melted out of the shadows and fell upon the body of the scientist, ripping it to shreds as it devoured the corpse. No, this isn’t some horror game like Killer 7 or No More Heroes. This is a Pokemon world. And you are in it. Pokemon: Stench of Blood Welcome to the first ever Pokemon RPG! If you don’t know what Pokemon is then you’ve lived in a cave all your life. If you do then you probably lament the horrendously weak plot line of the story ever since Gold Version. This RPG plans to rectify that. Another outburst you may have is something along the lines of “Pokemon already is an RPGzorz!1111111111ONE!”. Yeah Pokemon is an RPG, but it’s an incredibly limited RPG. Why don’t you come and make your own adventure instead of relying on pre made quests and so forth? Without further ado, let us begin. Story Project Unbounded. The culmination of years of research and field study. The reason for the invention of the Pokedex. The true purpose behind sending trainers on journeys. Professors of all the islands were part of it along with several others. They never told a soul its true meaning. Now Team Rocket discovered its existence. Agents were been sent out to assassinate prominent players in the project, such as Oak, Birch, and Elm. They succeeded and the crime syndicate began its own research into the possibilities of such a development. The rewards of success are enormous. None could challenge their dominance. Team Rocket has nearly completed the project. They are just missing one crucial piece. In an act of desperation Lance, the champion of the Elite Four, placed the data inside a normal Pokeball. He never revealed its location and suffered hideous torture. Since Lance was unable to send a message to his comrades, the remaining members of Project Unbounded set off on a quest to recover the Pokeball and save the world from Team Rocket. But the syndicate is also on a journey for the exact same purpose. They will not play fair. They play for keeps. Meanwhile, new Pokemon trainers are just beginning on their own travels. Oblivious to the conflict around them they trudge through the perils of this world. The war in the shadows still rages and even those with a clogged nose can perceive the stench of blood. Story Progression Each faction has specific goals that they wish to accomplish but largely the progression of the story is completely up to you. There are thirty seven badges that can be obtained along with the Battle Tower and the Elite Four. Story will be furthered by posts called Trainer Memos which give specific goals that must be accomplished for the story to continue. Of course you are free to explore the Pokemon world at your leisure. Just things could get stale very quickly. Playing the Game Factions Pokemon Trainers: As the core faction in the game, you’d think they’d be more aware of the conflict around them. Not a chance! These trainers live for the pokemon they carry and are the only group with the ability to breed or battle the Elite Four. Some trainers have been recruited by the Scientist to help with apprehending Team Rocket. Defining Characteristics Ability to carry six Pokemon at once. Ability to breed Pokemon. Ability to enter the Battle Tower. Ability to battle the Elite Four. Goals Obtain all thirty seven Gym Badges. Defeat the Elite Four. Become the world’s best Pokemon Trainer. Aid the Scientists if possible. Scientists: The remaining members of Project Unbounded are small in number yet still great in power. They race against the forces of Team Rocket in a grand effort to save the world from destruction. Having worked on Project Unbounded they know the consequences of misuse and they aren’t pretty. Defining Characteristics Only able to carry three Pokemon at once. Each have a special mind power. Ability to clone Pokemon. Obtain two badges by completing goals instead of one. Goals Defeat Team Rocket in the race for the Pokeball. Recruit Trainers to your cause. Escape assassination by Team Rocket operatives. Complete Project Unbounded or destroy all records of it. Team Rocket: Organized crime at its finest, Team Rocket once ravaged the regions of Pokemon. Then they were disbanded by a young trainer. Now they have risen again, greater and more terrible than ever before. Nothing can stop them from achieving their goal of obtaining domination. Defining Characteristics Only able to carry two Pokemon at once. Able to carry weapons. Obtain up to two badges after a victorious battle. Goals Defeat the Scientists in the race for the Pokeball. Recruit Trainers to your cause. Assassinate Scientists. Unleash the horror of Project Unbounded upon the world. Crush all who stand in your way. Universal Traits Ability to utilize PCs. Ability to utilize Pokemon Centers and Marts. Ability to catch wild Pokemon. Ability to trade Pokemon. Ability to release caught Pokemon. Pokemon There are no made up Pokemon in this RPG, only those that have been featured in the Pokemon games. A list of Pokemon can be found here. Catching, Breeding, Cloning, and Releasing Catching: The standard way to obtain new Pokemon. Catching only occurs with wild Pokemon. Only certain Pokemon can be found in certain areas. For example you wouldn’t be able to catch a Slugma in an ice cave. Catching a Pokemon is guaranteed if you have at least one badge. Of course you can have it break out if you want. Pokemon unable to be caught include starters (except Pikachu) and legendaries. Breeding: A technique only usable by Trainers to obtain new Pokemon, breeding runs hot and cold. It takes five IC posts to successfully breed a Pokemon. However, once it is hatched it can have any of the moves that either of its parents have. The Pokemon always hatches at the first stage of evolution. Breeding can happen at any time as long as you have a female and a male Pokemon. Cloning: This ability is only available to Scientists and can only be performed at labs. Cloning occurs instantly yet it has some drawbacks. Cloning creates an exact copy and does not grant any special abilities. Trading: If two players agree, they can each pick a Pokemon to trade between them. There are no trade backs so choose wisely. Releasing: The act of releasing a Pokemon removes it from your PC or party into the wild. It cannot be caught again by anyone. Evolution Evolution: This is caused when a Pokemon progresses through the stages of its life. It is caused when the player obtains a certain amount of badges and takes two posts to perform. Evolution is irreversible so once again choose wisely. Evolve once with twenty three badges. Evolve twice with forty seven badges. Moves Moves: Any Pokemon has the ability to use any of its moves that it could possibly learn A bred Pokemon can use all the moves of its parents. There are no real restrictions for moves. TMs and HMs must be found through quests or rewarded by staff. Some moves have more potency against certain types than others. Using these moves gives you an additional advantage. Use this type chart to determine which moves are best and when. Badges and Battling Badges There are thirty seven normal Badges and ten extra for a grand total of forty seven badges in the game. By completing the goals in each Memo, players can obtain even more badges. 8 each from Sinnoh, Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto gyms. 5 from Orange Islands. 6 from the Battle Tower. 4 from the Elite Four. ? from Battles. ? from Goals ? from Rewards. As you can see the possible amounts of badges are only dependant upon how long one plays the game and how long the game lasts. Long time players gain the obvious advantage over new ones because they have more badges. What is the importance of obtaining these Badges? Battling of course! Battling The outcome of the Battle is swayed depending on how many badges the Players have in comparison to each other. Basically it’s a leveling system only player driven. Another factor in battling is the evolution level. Evolution erases all badge advantage for the opposing player. Example: Player A (47) uses Caterpie while Player B (42) uses Metapod. Player A’s advantage has been removed because Metapod is a higher evolution level than Caterpie. The battle is now decided by the players. Battles are not necessarily turn based and it is up to the player how they should battle with others. Winning a battle results in the opposing player rewarding you with either a badge or a Pokemon. Battles are won when all the player’s Pokemon have been KOed. Regions Kanto: The setting of the games Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow and probably the first location that comes to mind at the mention of the word Pokemon. Johto: The setting of the games Gold, Silver, and Crystal (the best ones) and known for its twin towers. Hoenn: The setting of the games Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald and the site of the Elite Four. Sinnoh: The setting of the games Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum and the location of the Battle Tower. Orange Islands: A cluster of islands visited in a season of the anime series. Joining the RPG To join the RPG simply submit this form via a post in this topic. 13. So you want to jump in to EF's awesome new RPG, Villainous, but it's moving too fast and too many things have happened with even more on the way. The story is incredibly convoluted and you have no idea where to start. That's what this blog entry is for. Just like with Imagine, this will be updated every Saturday as an ongoing recap. Unlike Imagine, this will use a listed recap format, much easier to manage. Everything You Need to Know to Jump Into Villainous 1. The Shadowed One has comitted suicide. -He appointed someone known only as Mr. Unknown to reign in his stead. -No one knows who or where Mr. Unknown is. -In his farewell speech, TSO inserted a hidden clue that says "Follow the Light of Mata Nui to Zakaz". -The players have yet to decide on what exactly that means. 2. There is a secret faction known as "the Six". -The faction is comprised of players who are notified of their involvement in the faction via PM. -These characters must not reveal their identity. -These characters will decide on future plot developments, notify me, and I will post the story advancements. -Other players have an overriding quest to uncover the members of this faction and discover its goals before it's too late. 3. There is a League of Heroes meeting on Odina. -All the leaders of the League Microfactions will be present. -A mysterious figure known as the Silent One welcomes people to the meeting. -Somehow, the Shadowed One appeared and detonated Odina. -Turaga Dume was killed in the explosion. -A shapeshifting Dark Hunter has taken his place. -The League is relocating to Zakaz. 4. The Vahki have been reprogrammed and are taking over Metru-Nui. -The robots proclaim themselves emperors of the known universe. -The Vahki are killing everything in sight. -Morrakh has assumed command of the hordes. -No one knows who reprogrammed the Vahki. -The Vahki are no longer a Guild Microfaction. They have created their own faction. -EF
14. Thanks to your votes, Villainous has won RPGC15! Special thanks goes out to Zyrox for suggesting the unique coding and helping me clean up the presentation, and to Spink for helping out with the finer mechanics of story driven RPGs, and to Robo for inadvertantly giving me the idea for a gameplay mechanic which I think you're really going to enjoy. 15. A big thanks to those who have voted for Villainous so far in the RPGC15 polls. If you haven't voted yet, check out the submissions, reviews, and the final poll. Be sure to give Villainous a glance while you're at it.
16. So, if any of you need a recap, check here. I'll be updating this periodically. I'm shooting for every Saturday, so we'll see how that goes. You can also add your own personal recaps here in comments section. Be sure to mention anything that I missed! *Recap Start* Imagine opens in Spaceport, where a night time zombie attack is plaguing the city. Red and other people fight off some zombies while occasionally returning to the Universe. In the Universe, the Demons have someone managed to infiltrate London, likely through its sewer systems and people are evacuating the city. Wyatt meets up with Davis and they encounter a demon who forces them into the Immagina for a duel. Shade, a super villain from the Immagina's past, shows up and traps Red, Davis, Alex, and a few others in a building full of zombies. While trying to fight each other, they have to fight the zombies as well. Mocha, a bear eidolon, starts throwing zombies and creates a zombie shaped whole in the wall, which they promptly escape through. Once outside, they meet the Professor, who got hit in the head by a flying zombie, and Shade, who forces them to experience their greatest fear. The only way that Shade is driven off is by a surprise attack from Manifold. Shade runs away in order to execute the next stage of his plan. A battle ensues that lasts until dawn, when all the nightmares flee the city. Red goes to a bar to meet his contact with the Dune Bandits, who informs him that they have found a passage into Underworld. Red asks the room at large if anyone will join him in this quest. A team is assembled and will meet later that day on the street corner. Red goes out to requisition supplies. Meanwhile, the Bazooka BUnnies are being chased by a legion of hunters. After that fight, the team assembles. They meet Pedro, whom everyone is almost immediately suspiscious of but they accept him anyway. The team travels out into the desert where they are shown the tunnel to Underworld. Right after entering the passage they are attacked by many nightmares. The team fights them off, but not without injury. Red duels Shade who spouts off some cryptic messages before being driven away by Sol. A small break in the fighting allows the team to reassemble. Pedro slips away to go talk to a horde of demons and betray the team. He is unsuccessful, and upon his return is questioned heavily about his whereabouts. When he is revealed as a traitor, he gets angry and leaves the Immagina to go after the baby form of Starbright, Thea Metissa. After being healed by Eckell, Red assures the team that there is only a little way to go before they reach the top most level of Underworld, where they can assassinate the Demon leaders. About halfway up the stairs the team encounters Manifold, a group of five giants, and a Shadow Tyrannus. The giants are easily dispatched, and the Professor's Nanotyrannus devoured the Shadow Tyrannus. Manifold proved harder to beat. He orders his familiars to crazy things, culminating in the creations of a gigantic Goliath Bird Eating Spider. Red becomes desperate and asks Starbright if she can have Nexus lift the team up to the topmost level and out of danger. Most of the people are carted by Nexus to the top (some were left behind to fight the giant spider that Manifold created), where it is revealed that Red is actually one of the six leaders of the Demons, with the lead Demon being a headless figure with a diamond hard body and a gold robe. The whole scheme was a trap to kill some of the most powerful Daydreamers and harvest their *dreamsouls for use in the Demon's plan. Starbright, in particular, has a very powerful dreamsoul. In passing, Red mentions an artifact of unimaginable power hidden deep beneath the City of Gold in an infinite labrynth of doom. So people start fighting. Shade shows up, says a few things, and summons one of his creations, called Behemoth. To combat this, the Professor writes up the Black Beast of Aaaargh and now the two monsters are duking it out. Red has summoned several ghost ninjas to overwhelm the Daydreamers. Currently the Professor has obtained the holy hand grenade and intends to use it as a way to escape. *Recap End* I'm sure that there are things that I've missed please tell me about them if you remembered something that I didn't. -EF

18. PREDICTIONS HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO REFLECT B6's LATEST STATEMENT THAT THERE WILL BE TWO PRELIM POLLS Okay, as RPGC15 winds to a close within the next few days, it is time to begin the analytical study of RPGC politics. This entry will be constantly updated as the scene shifts and new games enter the playing field. The goal of this research is to predict the final winners of the contest and claim bragging rights if you're correct. Predicting which games will be in which polls is relatively easy. Generally there are 6-10 games in the final poll, and the amount of polls depends on the number of entries. There are 20 valid entries so far, and B6 said this is a two poll spread with likely eight finalists. Based on past games and their polls, you will see that assigning the games to their polls is just based on giving each entry a number. Thus the polls will look something like this if the contest ended at this moment. Poll One Riot! - RueLee Strike of Lightning - Shadow Hydruka Reign of Shadow - DethRaid Night Ride - Parugi Bionicle: The Skrall Wars - Optimus Prime1 Tales of the Afterlife - The True Zedd of BZPower City of Ruins - Mr. Anarchy Kato-nui - TINR Sunder - botaris Intergalactic Storm - Waffles Poll Two Guardian - Asd Yhn Asylum - Twilight Kreuzer Exploitation of Anarchy - Toa of Nerds Villainous - Exo-Fat Mask of Power - Super TOA Hunter The Gale - Rising Moon Merits of Honor: The Fifth Company - Keeper of Kraata Top Secret: Operation Endgame - Tafu Darkness Falls - Kagha City of Steam - Toa of Dancing Final Poll According to Exo: Night Ride - Parugi Tales of the Afterlife - The True Zedd of BZPower City of Ruins - Mr. Anarchy Sunder - botaris Villainous - Exo-Fat The Gale - Rising Moon Top Secret: Operation Endgame - Tafu Darkness Falls - Kagha Here's where things get complicated. You never know what could happen during the final poll. Just look at RPGC14 for an example of that. I ask you these questions: Do you think these predictions are accurate based on the current contest landscape? Which games do you think, in no particular order, will comprise the top three? *The predictions here are subject to change at any time based on any new entries that may spring up.

And So Ends Ap

So, I took my RPG to the doctor a few weeks ago and he said there was nothing that could be done. It took me a while to arrive at this point, but I made my decision. It was better to end Abyssal Plain's misery than to continue to let it live on in pain. I prepared for the ending and today, at 3:44 PM PDT, AP breathed its last breath. Farewell AP. You were a game that had great potential and plans for the future, but were bogged down by a massive word count, lack of interest, and a month of downtime. At least you went out with a bang if there ever was one. R.I.P AP
21. To the recipient of this notice, You have been selected from millions of other nefarious beings to join the prestigious Guild of Villains. We assure you that this is a great honor indeed. Only the most elite and powerful denizens of the universe are ever asked to enter it. If you wish to proceed you are to read the contents of the enclosed book, Villainous, and report to the Dark Tower of Metru-Nui within forty eight hours. If you refuse, you will be terminated and your body dealt with most gruesomely. Sincerely, -Bytur, Guild Recruiter This book is the property of- TOA TAVOK. Forward About this book and I. The Shadowed One is a wonderful leader indeed. I had the honor of speaking to him directly a few months ago. He gave me special orders to write this book as a guide for aspiring villains. It is a privilege to be penning the words which will inspire millions. I am the author of this book. I would prefer not to give out my name, as hatred often follows visionaries such as I. You may refer to me simply as Mr. Unknown. Though my name be a secret nothing in this handbook is. Everything written here is on public record. This is not the first time that this information has been compiled. This is, however, the first time that all this knowledge has been brought together for the express purpose of instructing beings in the way of proper villain technique and informing any skeptics of the Guild's ultimate goal, peace. Continue to read, and may your doubt and confusion be cleared by the wisdom of our dear leader. -Mr. UnknownDear leader? Is this a love letter? Introduction to Villainy Step One To be a villain is to be one who stands for justice. You must unite the world in order to achieve peace. And to unite the world you must obey the commands of our dear leader, the Shadowed One. He has taken the term “villainy” and forever altered its meaning to the common Matoran. A villain protects and fights for order. They must often be harsh and cruel, but it is all for the greater good. Heroes fight for justice by the command of Dume! The greater good can only be achieved if we are of like minds and hearts. All our efforts must be centered around this final goal. Ultimately, to be a villain is to be one who would do anything, including the putting aside of a so called ethical code, for the greater good. Cross Reference- Toa Code. Yes, you must be willing to sacrifice yourself. But in the end, you must be able to sacrifice those around you without thought or feeling. Then you will become a true villain. A Brief History The only thing we have learned from history is that we have learned nothing from history. Years ago the illustrious Shadowed One respectfully asked Turaga Dume of Metru-Nui for permission to construct a small base of operations on the island city. The Turaga refused and greatly insulted the Shadowed One by doing so. Enraged by this atrociously discourteous act, the Shadowed One, in his infinite wisdom, sent a group of diplomats to the city in order to bargain one last time. If Dume continued to be belligerent, they were authorized to use force. Diplomats, yeah right. We all know the rest of the story. The Turaga scorned the Shadowed One and war broke out between the Toa and the Dark Hunters. The conflict finally ended when Nidhiki wisely turned against his evil Toa brothers and the Shadowed One learned of plots on other islands to send aid to the Toa. The reinforcements never arrived and Turaga Dume and his Toa legions were driven from the city. Wisely turned? Doesn't mention brutal murder of Nidhiki. The Shadowed One had claimed victory at last. Under his leadership, the city of Metru-Nui flourished. Matoran were more productive than ever and the Vahki program expanded to include many islands in the surrounding area. There was peace, order, and justice in the northern part of the land, the land that the Shadowed One presided over. Cross Reference- History According to Dume But in the southern part of the universe, the Toa still lived on. They began sneaking into northern society and terrorizing the inhabitants. Though they call themselves heroic, these beings want nothing more than to destroy your prosperity. Do not listen to anything they say, even if they claim orders from Mata-Nui himself. Know that the Shadowed One holds all the answers to any questions you may have. He is your friend. He will listen to your problems. Unfortunately, the Shadowed One has not been viewed in public since the onset of the terrorist attacks. About a week after they began he granted audience to a group of six beings of power and majesty. All seven of them entered the topmost chamber in Dark Tower of Metru-Nui and none have been seen since. Do not fret. The Shadowed One continues to provide us with his guidance through a series of letters to his highest officials. He assures us that he is well, but must not be seen at this time due to an assassination plot against him. Evidence suggests death of “dear leader”. See- Guild Structure, "The Six". One of his most recent commands is the formation of a Guild of Villains, where the most elite beings of the universe can join together in harmony to fight rebellion and bring peace to the world. It is into this wondrous vision of the future that you are being drawn. Please join us in ridding the world of the tyranny of those who would tear down the peace that we have so painstakingly built. Our future depends on it. The Known World The world is a dangerous place. It is dangerous because you exist. Metru-Nui: The city of legends is still the center of the universe as well as the focal point of trade and commerce. Under the Shadowed One's reign it has become even more productive than in ages past. The Matoran are not all rejoicing at this turn of events. The Vahki squadrons brutally enforce the law and many workers drop dead each day. The central landmark in the city is the Dark Tower. Formerly the Colosseum, it was converted into a base of operations for the Shadowed One and his Dark Hunters. It is now the central hub of all Guild activities. Rumor has it that the Shadowed One and the Six are performing some sort of tests underneath the city. No one knows for sure. Northern Continent: This stretch of land is not nearly as large as its sister, the Southern Continent, but it still manages to be quite expansive. The population density is low, and villages are sparsely spread. Its isolation has made it the ideal place for the Shadowed One to produce his legions of Vahki Enforcers. Nearly all of the continent is one gigantic robot hive. Break a law here and you'll never come back. Please do not do this. We care for your safety and it would be best if you do not break a law. Kanohi Underground Complex: The Kanohi Underground, a group of terrorists, smugglers, and pirates, have constructed a hidden base somewhere within Guild territory. Do not worry, the Dusk Patrol is searching for it as we speak and will rout out the disturbers of the peace soon enough. They have built their main facility hidden among the metallic innards of the Vahki Hive in the Northern Continent. It's the perfect place, really. Any electronic scans that the Vahki do only bring up the hideout as another part of the hive. However, their position is precarious. Fighting behind enemy lines is one thing, but living there is absolutely absurd. Odina: The former Dark Hunter fortress has dwindled over the years until it is now practically a ghost town. The Shadowed One simply had no further use for it and he does not care for its well being, as all the sensitive materials have been taken to Metru-Nui already. This is wisdom in the Shadowed One, for if items of such importance had been deserted there, they surely would have been found. The island has not yet been touched by Vahki forces. If anyone is seeking a safe haven from oppression head to Odina. Next League meeting to be held here in four days. Arrival by Kanohi Underground shipping is planned. Reminder- Pack for trip to meeting. Stelt and Xia: These twin islands lay on the border of the Shadowed One's empire. Xia remains the island factory and shipping harbor that it always was, but Stelt has been converted into a prison for those beings who would be most hateful against our dear leader. Often times, people are imprisoned under false pretenses and never given a fair trial. The inmates are continually at work, building new cells and interrogation chambers for themselves and those to come. Blockade: In an attempt to cut off the southern islands from northern trade the Shadowed One ordered the formation of a siege blockade. Fortunately, these efforts have been futile due to constant smuggling of goods and supplies by the Kanohi Underground. The blockade slowly encroaches upon southern territory each day. It is unknown how long it will be until Guild troops land on the shores of the Southern Continent. Destral: The Brotherhood of Makuta remains on somewhat friendly terms with the Guild. Having been removed from power by the Shadowed One's decisive conquest, they have retreated back to their fortress. Currently they have formed an alliance with the Guild. Any Brotherhood member gets free passage through Guild territories in exchange for periodically raiding the neighboring, nasty, hero filled islands. It is our suspicion that the Brotherhood is up to much more than this. It has something to do with the Six. Southern Islands: Kinda funny how the author refuses to mention these places in his “map of the world”. Anyway, the Toa have fled to the Southern Continent and the surrounding islands and are now under the wise and strong leadership of Turaga Dume. Everyday we take in new refugees from assorted northern islands. In fact, one survivor brought us these books, so that we can know what the enemy is doing. Our supplies are running low, and it doesn't help that people have begun to question Dume. I for one am loyal to our Turaga and would do anything for him. Daxia: The island base of the Order of Mata-Nui. I haven't had the chance to visit yet, but I hear tell it is the most perilous island in the universe. The terrain is particularly treacherous. Vacations are not recommended. Guild Structure A house divided against itself cannot stand. The Guild of Villains is built of three main parts, called microfactions. This is all part of the genius plan that our dear leader has designed. He separated power between these three microfactions so that no one person besides himself could gain ultimate power. -The Dark Hunters: The Dark Hunters comprise the largest portion of Guild membership. They were the original inspiration for the Guild. They continue to do what they've always done; steal and murder. Any previous activities have been put on hold due to continued efforts at destroying the Toa. The Dark Hunters are the foot soldiers in this struggle against the evils of so called “heroism”. The puny Toa and their Turaga leader do not stand a chance. How dare they question the ability of Turaga Dume! -The Vahki Hordes: Stationed in the immense hive of the northern continent, the Vahki are your average policeman and will attempt to enforce the law upon you no matter your station or rank. All six types have been mass produced and cover nearly every island in Guild territory. Only our dear leader himself can command them, so I suggest not starting a street fight or killing civilians at random. They will hunt you down. Stay out of trouble at all costs. -The Dusk Patrol: The Vahki are robots and can only do so much. They don't think like real beings do and so can't form strategies outside programmed maneuvers. Enter the Dusk Patrol, the most loved group of law enforcers in the land. They keep the peace at all costs. They will listen to your pleas for mercy and acquit you if they see fit. The common pedestrian has nothing to worry about with them around. Just do not get on their bad side or they will exact the Shadowed One's justice upon you where you stand. The Shadowed One knows nothing of justice. Look to Dume for guidance. -The Six: Recent intelligence from Kanohi Underground and Order spies suggest that there is another faction at play in this game. Their intentions are unknown, but we can piece together that they may have murdered the Shadowed One. More information must be gathered. Personal notes for reference. The Brotherhood of Makuta is the final faction left in the known world. They have allied themselves with our dear leader and continue to be of great importance to our efforts. Please respect them as you would any Guild member. Only beings of the Makuta species may formally join the Brotherhood but they have many spaces available for lesser beings who wish to contribute to this great cause. The Brotherhood has no microfactions. Allied with Six? The League of Heroes is an informal alliance between three microfactions. The goal is to bring down the villains and the Shadowed One's rule. But first we must survive. -The Toa Union: Most Toa who escaped Guild territory have banded together in a union of brothers and sisters dedicated towards restoring a true peace to the world under the leadership of Turaga Dume. He guides us in this quest and will not lead us astray. Mata-Nui would never allow it. There has, recently, been some unrest among the ranks of the Toa. Some say that Dume has been corrupted by his power and wish to incite rebellion against him. I am enraged at the very thought. All who protest our commander will be dealt with peaceably if we can, forcibly if we must. They must be exterminated. -The Kanohi Underground: The Matoran who make our battle against the Guild possible are those that serve in the Kanohi Underground, a group of freedom fighters who provide us with information, supplies, and refugees on a nearly daily basis. It is largely comprised of Matoran, but they often are able to better fight than many Toa I know. The identity of their leader is kept secret from all but Turaga Dume. Where would we be without them? -The Order of Mata-Nui: I never knew that this group of elite beings even existed until they revealed themselves to us very recently. They claim to have a mandate from Mata-Nui himself, through their prophetess/leader Helryx. I don't know whether or not Helryx actually communes with the Great Spirit, but her soldiers are great at any form of combat and are a huge help in battle. I'll tolerate their crazy religious devotion any day as long as they keep their swords sharp. Rules of Villainy The best way to control a population is through a system of punishments and rewards. • All BZP rules apply. • No G-Modding: For newer players this means that you can’t do anything outside of the realms of reason or the bounds which have been set in this handbook to villainy. Yes, you can do crazy things, but they must have a complete explanation and cannot undermine the basic structure of the Guild. • Distinguish between IC (In Character) and OOC (Out of Character) • Do not act like Guild Officers (Staff) and reprimand other players. We as Guild Officers have probably noticed these problems and are getting to them. There is no need for you to do our job. If you feel there is a problem with a certain player then PM a Guild Officer and we will take care of it for you. You may make polite suggestions, but dealing out punishments is strictly forbidden. • Follow Guild Officer rulings, but if you feel we are wrong on a certain subject feel free to tell us. • Guild Members are obligated to give recaps or answer questions when requested. This is less of a rule and more of general RPing etiquette. • Do not control other Guild Members (Playable Characters) without permission of the player. • Do not kill Guild Members without the permission of the player. • Do something crazy. I am dead serious about this rule. Games get stale unless there are things happening at all times. If you get bored, do something crazy and draw other players into your own little sidestory. That is an order. Punishments and rewards are doled out based on a multitude of factors such as consistency, severity, and helpfulness. Dume has nearly the same rules! Hmmm... Guild Application To join the Guild, please take the following application to the base on Discussion Topic Avenue before sending a personal message to the Shadowed One himself. Do not place the application in the base on Profiles Topic Avenue until you have been accepted into the guild. An unlimited number of applicants will be accepted, but we ask you to have moderation in this regard. Username: Name: Code Name: Faction: Microfaction: Appearance: Abilities/Weapons: Biography: Similar applications are accepted at the League of Heroes as well. Guild Officers They will keep you in line and enforce the rules of villainy. Exo-Fat ??? ??? ? Afterward There are devious beings who would wish to deceive you. And now, my friends, we have reached the end of this enlightening journey. But there is more that I have to say. The knowledge you have acquire from reading these passages is precious. Guard it from devious beings who would wish to deceive you and lead you down another path. They are the extremists of the world; Turaga that send their Matoran to distant lands without aid or oppress their charges into building monuments in commemoration of their greatness. There are traitorous Toa and murderous Matoran. An example would be of the terrorist Kanohi Underground, who bomb buildings on a regular basis in the name of peace. Note to self- Question KU as to recent activities and inquire after success of bombing mission. I ask you, are bombs, launchers, and swords peace? No, they are instruments of war and the Toa use them with reckless abandon. The Shadowed One does not want to engage in conflict; but he must, for the sake of the average denizen of the universe. Remember what you have learned and you will find peace. May the wisdom of the Shadowed One and the light of Mata-Nui be your guide. -Mr. Unknown.
22. Well, it seems like Imagine has done in a week what it took AP three months to do. I'll be cautiously optimistic about this one.... but IMO, it's a good sign.
23. Geez... I may have to reverse my decision not to enter RPGC just to improve the average quality of the entries, lol. Nah, it's going to be funny to see how this one plays out.

25. NOTE: The following game is still in the works. Your suggestions of improvement are very welcome. I was reading through the old RPGs one day (you know, the classics like AMG, OE, TG) and I thought to myself. We really haven't had a purist story based RPG in a very long time. Never the kind of game where you can really stretch your wings in. So I thought up this idea and decided to bring it to my good friend Spink for examining. Knowing that I had previously had management issues I suggested that if he wanted to, we could enter this together. Well, Spink really liked the idea and then things just took off from there. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you... The Daughter. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « She was his finest creation, and now his greatest nightmare... By: Exo-Fat and Spink To whom it may concern, For nearly five long and agonizing months we have lived under her reign, struggling to flourish in this wretched dimension. The world is in chaos. There is no order. The lives of us who will not bend to her will are like surviving a thousand torture chambers. I stand outside my cavernous hiding place, gazing down the mountainside at the dim lights of city below. For these months she has ruled, and we cannot hope to break free. Of course, there are those who prosper. The being who works gets his reward, she says. They who have surrendered are indeed honored, with riches and homes in the city. But I will not surrender, and so I must be broken. It's not like our former home was any better. There had been wars, destruction, and pain there too. Mata-Nui really hadn't done the greatest job with governing his creations. He neglected us, never had cared and never will. He called her his finest creation. That title stung us; as if we, the inhabitants of the universe, were made of lesser material. And yet, we all loved her, would do anything for her. But she was just like her father. She did not love us back. Her take over should have come as no surprise. But what did Mata-Nui do to stop her? Nothing! All he could say was a simple apology before she sealed him away. Now he cannot help us, if he ever wanted to. Today we live in a false peace. Much of the world has bent to her will and submitted to her reign. She leads her forces to hunt down those who like me have not bowed. Of course, there are the few who will rebel. Many have come together under the belief that Mata-Nui could somehow save them. Fools, I say! If he had wanted to save us he would have done it already! As to the Great Beings, no such beasts. They too would have come gloriously to our aid. I cannot believe in gods that would let us suffer and die while they live in a so called paradise. Those are not gods, those are demons. Each day, as I traverse the land, I hear of new rumors of some sort of way to finish her off once and for all. They have no idea what they are doing. The shattered minds of the doomed often don't. My name is Deirmon, and this will be my final journal entry before I take my life. I cannot continue to live in this world, and I shall never, under my own will, return to the land of Mata-Nui. Death is the only escape. May the gods, if there be any, have mercy on your soul. -Transcript of the final recording in Deirmon's holographic journal. In the time before time, the Great Beings constructed the Great Spirit Mata-Nui, our creator, and sent him on his mission through the universe. They decreed to him, for reasons unknown, that he could create whatever beings he saw fit... except for one. Under no circumstances was he to build another Great Spirit. After they had said these words the Great Beings departed out of the land, never to be seen again. And it came to pass that Mata-Nui was sent on his quest. Many thousand years passed, and he created every sort of being to populate the universe, Matoran, Makuta, Zyglak, Vortixx, and all such denizens that dwell on the earth. But these creations did not live in harmony. There were wars and poverty, contention and strife. Behold, as the pain in the universe grew, Mata-Nui began to forget his mission and did retreat from his creations, becoming more and more detached. Finally, in an effort to bring himself a companion who could understand him and his troubles he gathered materials and constructed a new Great Spirit. She was his greatest creation, and he confided all his darkest secrets in her. She was sent to watch over the universe whenever Mata-Nui became too overwhelmed by the troubles. Soon, she was leading the people full time, and for the space of a few years there was peace. But behold, the daughter of Mata-Nui had darkness within her heart. She devised a plan to rebel against her creator. One day, she struck with exceedingly great swiftness. And it came to pass that she did imprison Mata-Nui and seal his essence away to be eternally tortured by the Spirit Guardian she created. And it was by this means that she did take control of the universe and replace Mata-Nui as Great Spirit. And she trapped all the beings of the universe in a twisted dimension. She had full control over this land and shaped it to be a prison for the inhabitants thereof. Obedience to her, she said, would finally bring peace to the world. And many people did believe her words and they were rewarded; greatly at first and then less and less until she had an army of loyal slaves at her fingertips. She sent this army into the far reaches of the land, searching for those who had not submitted themselves before her. And it came to pass that many beings were rounded up and executed, until such time that few remained to oppose her. Those who did, hid themselves in caverns or in the desert wasteland. And there was a semblance of peace throughout the land. And thus began the reign of Riiva-Nui, dark and beautiful spirit, daughter of Mata-Nui, queen of the universe and all that dwell within... -Excerpt from the Taku-va-vaha; Chronicle of the Time Before Time.
