  1. I've noticed many of my golden pieces from 2003-2006 turned dark in time, and I really wish I could do sometthing about it. When my Avohkii went dark I bought another one but soon enough the new one went dark as well. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I believe it's because my house is quite humid. Is there a solution, a way to revert the process? My Lhikan mask turned dark, but years later it went back to its original color without explaination. So far I've tried bicarbonate, lemon juice, ammonia, peroxide, soap, salt, leaving the piece in the sun for a couple of hours, casting the piece in boiling water, putting it in a peroxide glass and leaving it in the sun. No results at all. Here are some pictures of the pieces: 1 2 3 4 So, what do you think?
  2. Does anyone know why Kopeke's appearance changed so drastically from the MNOG to his 03 toy? I would like to know if there is an explanation.
  3. What is your favorite group of Bionicle sets? By that I mean like the Toa Inika, or the the Piraka, or anything like that. Why is it your favorite? Personally, my favorite would be the Toa Mahri. I really liked watching the team develop from the beginning, and the Mahri designs were awesome. They were able to look like a unified group but still have unique designs.
  4. We know what the sets of 2015 are: the Toa, the Protectors, and the skull villains. But, what about 2016? What do you want for wave one, wave two, and the small sets? Personally,I want more villains in wave two. Makuta is a must, in my mind. We saw a glimpse of him in Episode 0 (that's what I like to call the episode titled "The Legend"), but I want to see more of him in the role of the supreme villain. As for wave one, The Toa again, but more in tune with their elements. Lewa has more jungle-esque pieces, Gali has a flowing water motif, Tahu has more flame, etc. As for small sets? Villagers. Make them small. Barebones, not much armor. Little to no tools. Why? So we can have 12. 12 little villagers with their 6 leaders. 2 per element. We've seen villagers in episodes 0 and 2, but what if we actually got a few of them? That'd be a whole lot of world building for what, 5 bucks per set? See, 2001 didn't have the same issue we do now. They had villagers (McToran) and leaders (Turaga), plus their heroes, the Toa. That gave the Toa extra incentive to save the island. Now, all we have is the Protectors, and that's less interesting. What do you guys think?
  5. Hi, guys! Have you noticed that in the Legend video (aka Episode 0) where Ekimu has blue eyes while his set form has yellow eyes instead? I did, and I also noticed that this eye color switch happened to the Protector of Stone when in his set, his eyes are blue while in the webisodes, his eyes are yellow. I wonder if there is a connection between these differences. Maybe that both of the characters had accidentally switched eye colors. I mean, each of the other Protectors in their sets have the same eye color as his or her respective Toa. Here how it is: PoF and Tahu -> blue eyes PoW and Gali -> yellow eyes PoJ and Lewa -> yellow eyes PoI and Kopaka -> blue eyes PoE and Onua -> yellow eyes For the Stone guys: Sets: Pohatu's eyes are yellow while PoS's are blue. Webisodes: Both of them' eyes are yellow. This is quite strange. Does Ekimu meant to have blue or yellow eyes? What about the Protector of Stone? Did Lego make a mistake in the sets or the webisodes? (Well, since I already have the Protector of Stone set and when I get the Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder set, I could switch their eye pieces.) What do you guys think about this?
  6. Old school Bionicle fan here! I’m trying to collect all the new sets. I bought all the current Spring sets and the hero packs. Are there any limited edition sets that are more difficult to find? I swear I read somewhere that there are special limited edition masks that were released earlier this year. Is this true and where can I find these masks? The comics have not returned to the lego magazine, correct? Thanks BZP people,
  7. Hey guys & dolls! It's your good ol' pal huh! And i have some stuff for ya... Just a few facts (pls read) - These sets are 100% complete except these cases : Pohatu w/o stone, only one green Zamor for Piraka, and those "great" black rubbers, which like to die after some time (and some yellow for Visorak too) - They are used, but clean & w/o broken parts! - Prices are for each piece/set - SOME cans/boxes & instructions available - let me know, what you want & i'll check - I do ship worldwide (buyer pays shipping & PP charges)! The costs depend on weight, but aren't high, so don't worry! I should mention, I'm from the Czech republic. Delivery time shouldn't be longer than 14 days (never happened to be longer and I've sent stuff to various countries). - Cash only (via PayPal) - I have a positive trade record here : Mask Collector, Munty, shadowonua, Ulragunner, Turtex, Miras, Reya, Vraiment, 55555, Kayru (if i forgot someone, pls, post it here!) - THERE WILL BE MORE! 8. Hello, you Lego Fans. I've been getting a lot of requests about letting there be an Official Set Review Topic. I've decided to give that entire thing an amiss. We're gonna do something a little different here.We want to see review topics. Lots of 'em. We want to see new sets. We want to see old sets. We want to hear what you think about your favourite Lego sets. We want to hear what you don't like. Now before you go all post crazy, I want to lay down a couple of guidelines. Some rubrics for your topics, if you will. I want to see you craft no less than 200 of your best words into each review. There will be no "lol I think this spiderman set is pretty cool".Pictures! I want five quality pictures of the product you're reviewing. This surplus of 5000 words does not count towards the aforementioned 200 word limit.I would be supremely pleased if you could follow BZP's review format when posting. You can get yourself acquainted by reading this instant classic review.Hero Factory set reviews belong in the Hero Factory Discussion forum. Bionicle set reviews belong in the Bionicle Discussion forum. Everything else belongs here, in the LEGO Discussion forum. And as always, make sure you're following all of BZPs defacto rules like no spamming, keeping all your images under the 500kb rule (linking them if you can't), etc.I'm going to leave this topic open so you can ask questions, sing praise or tell me just what a terrible idea it is to let people post opinions just, like, everywhere man. ~Makaru

    Old LEGO

I was cleaning up my room a bit and dug around in a few boxes. To my bemusement, I found an old Exploriens' box! While this is the oldest box I haven't recycled yet (I've recycled everything except Bionicle canisters, which up until recently were used as parts storage), the oldest set I still have built is a RoboForce vehicle that is sitting on my shelf (gathering dust). The Exploriens are my favorite LEGO Space theme, but I suppose at some point in my childhood I felt the need to take this set apart but was never compelled to do so to the RoboForce one. At this point I don't really feel like I should, if only to keep a bit of my childhood around (as well as a variety of figs). Also unearthed was a tub of Bionicle things I didn't miss: Piraka spines, Kanoka, Rhotuka, Kraata, Zamor, and some torsos from 2008 and on. I reorganized my Bionicle collection late last year but never said, "huh, I wonder where those Piraka spines are." But, I know they have building potential. (I wonder if the Rhotuka and Kraata are worth anything in my BrickLink store....) Oh and I found the LEGO Club BrickMaster CD with Bionicle comics #1-25 on it! Now I can reread most of the story (seeing as how I have no idea where in my house the physical comics are, despite now wanting to bag and board them). Just another day in the life of an AFOL! -CF
  10. Hey there, a few days ago some of my friends asked me to showcase how my bedroom feels like. So, I'm taking this oportunity to showcase all my Bionicle sets here as well! Enjoy! Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muJK17OKmaY&feature=youtu.be UPDATE: I've installed a new Shelf!
  11. The title says it all, what's your collection like and/or sets you wish you'd gotten.
  12. Hello everyone, I haven't been active on here for a while, but maybe some of you remember me from a year or so ago. Anyway, I'm currently looking for buyers for two items I've listed on Ebay: the Skopio XV-1 and the Axalara T9 Battle vehicles. Both sets look to be 100% Complete, and I have one of the Axalara's instruction manuals as well. Current Pricing: Axalara T9 - Complete: 49.99 USD Skopio XV-1- Complete: 75.00 USD OR BEST OFFER. Would really like to sell these, so if anyone's interested in either or both please send me a PM and I'll provide a link to the Ebay listing. Currently accepting Paypal only. I also have several non-LEGO items currently for sale on Ebay, including a Foil Shining Latios Gold Star Pokemon card - 94.00 USD or Best Offer. Very rare, often priced at 129.99 new, and this card is in mint condition. If anyone's interested in this item or any other items other than the two BIONICLE sets, please send me a PM and I'll link you to my entire Ebay inventory. Thanks, Varkanax
  13. Hello and welcome! >>>BACK!!!V2.0! Yup, finally got around to re-posting my topic after the major forum downtime. So, here we go again! :biggrin:V2.01! Re-posted after the forum monster ate it after 28 days. Once upon a time I was a very dedicated Bionicle collector, and a Lego master builder extraordinaire (or at least I like to think so ) and over the years I purchased a great deal of Lego until I had a very near complete Bionicle collection. While I wish I could hang on to them, if only for memories sake, my interests are rapidly changing and my room could use some things cleared out of it. As you can probably guess by my long list of owned sets, these take up a good portion of my room and closet and some extra spending money would be very useful to me right now. And so I am finally moving on and selling this gigantic collection of mine. And what better place to do it then our lovely BZP forums! ALL sets are in top condition (with two exceptions explained IN DETAIL below the set list) and ALL come with the original instructions and canister (if they came with one). I have gone through each and every set and checked that they are complete and in good condition. EDIT: After digging out and locating all my old canisters, and I have discovered that they did not survive the years as well as the sets did. The canisters themselves are still in fine working order, but many of the stickers are peeling slightly. This seems most major in the Toa Hordika and the Piraka. If you'd like I can tell you the condition of all the canisters you are purchasing. Now, for the most part, I am only interested in cash. I do not wish to trade for other Bionicles or LEGO Bricks, because that would defeat the purpose of selling this entire collection. The only thing other then cash I am interested in is anything bass or electric guitar related, or other band things (E.g. Drum stuff, microphones, cables etc). To put it all in a list… I WANT:Money/Cash/More Money! USD ONLY PLEASE! Band related stuff (E.g. Not in any way that they cannot be built, but I have lowered the price of both sets to compensate for this. The first is Lesovikk. The problem is that two of his arm/leg joints have cracked slightly at the socket. I have a few pictures below, hopefully you can see the problem. You can still get his arms together, even if it does look like it's going to break.PICTUREPICTUREThe same problem occurred with Toa Ignika, this time it happened three times, once to one socket, and twice to another. Again, I have included pictures and again, it doesn’t really do anything besides give you a scare when connecting his arms together.PICTUREPICTUREA rather unfortunate accident involving Kopaka (Toa Mata) occurred very recently. In a turn of events that I don't fully understand, his sword was snapped into two clean pieces. Lucky superglue works extremely well on Lego pieces, and the sword is repaired. The small crack in the blade can only be noticed upon close examination. However, like the other sets, price has been knocked down because of this.SOLD!PICTUREPICTURESuccessful Trades (Out of date. 14. Ignore this. Nevermind...
  15. So...If any of you are Transformers fans, you may know about the rapid rise of third party companies and their plethora of products. If you do not know what I'm talking about, third party products are products produced by companies completely separate from the official company. (In Transformers case, Hasbro). These products are usually higher quality figures that fans want to own or sometimes even supplements to officially licensed figures. I'm pretty sure everyone out there wants at least one set of either a character that was never represented as a set by lego, or perhaps an updated version of a previously released set. Now, my question. Can you see third company parties rising up in the future? I mean it wouldn't be too hard for a fully fledged company to make sets (considering the average amount of time/money/engineering that goes into making 3rd party tformers, bionicle sets aren't stretching the imagination by any means). Do you think Bionicle has or will ever have a big enough fandom to necessitate the formation of a third party company? And if this hypothetical company did produce sets, would you buy them? Or would you remain loyal to Lego?
  16. There is no doubt that certain HF sets are more appealing (as well as contain more useful parts for MOCing) than others. So my question is: which sets did you get multiples of, and which ones would you have liked to? My brother got us a second Furno XL (we share our LEGO but most of the stuff is mine since he's growing less fond of it.... today's youth ), and I bought 2 copies of Thornraxx when I got it.
  17. In my last entry, I shared my first two BIONICLE 2015 set reviews for The New Elementary. Now, I can share the third and final (for now, at least). Check out my review of 70778 Protector of Jungle, 70780 Protector of Water, and 70781 Protector of Earth right here! In addition, I've managed to draw something I'm really proud of for the first time in months! Check out my drawing of Gali - Master of Water right here in the General Art subforum! I'd love to draw some other BIONICLE characters, including maybe one of the Protectors I got, though I might want to wait to see if we learn anything more about their individual personalities in case that might inspire a particularly fitting pose.
  18. Two of my BIONICLE 2015 set reviews for The New Elementary have now been posted, with a third still forthcoming. I received six BIONICLE sets from the LEGO Group to review for that site: three Toa and three Protectors. Check out my review of 70788 Kopaka - Master of Ice right here! Check out my review of 70784 Lewa - Master of Jungle and 70786 Gali - Master of Water here! And finally, because I was lucky enough to receive these three particular Toa, you can see my attempt at building a 2015 version of Toa Kaita Wairuha right here! What's more, I recently finished writing an article on the BIONICLE theme's triumphant review for Blocks, a British-based magazine for the LEGO fan community! I believe it will be appearing in the January 2015 issue of the magazine. I am thrilled to have had this opportunity to own, build, and play with these new BIONICLE sets, and for the opportunity to share that experience with the LEGO fan community! My hope is that the articles I've been writing will not only inform BIONICLE fans about the new sets, but also perhaps educate other LEGO fans about just what it is that makes the BIONICLE theme and its return such a big deal for so many people.
  19. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this. You're looking through the LEGO catalogue, and come across a set you like the looks of. But, of course, you're strapped for cash. Plus you don't really want to go out to town or whatever to buy it. So what do you do? Obviously, go to the downloadable instructions page on LEGO.com, look up the set you liked, and build it out of your collection. I've done this pretty much as long as I can remember, and it's particularly fresh for me right now, since I just built the new B-Wing last night. There are, of course, some pieces that I won't have, or have the right colours of, so sometimes it can end up looking a little different - although I must admit that I do enjoy the challenge of figuring out which piece or pieces to use instead of the one it says. But what have been your experiences with it?
  20. I really wish the new sets come out in christsmas, instead of January (would be a good día de reyes gift, though XD). It would've made more sense, with all the holyday spirit and extra money. What do you think? Having a brand new [insert name of the first set you're gonna buy] sitting under your tree? Or having a Bionicle-less christmas?
  21. You can find pictures of the Protector sets here. I think that all of them were well designed, despite the fact that they all have the same face. But which is your favorite? Vote away! Edit: Technically, it's the Protector of Jungle, not Air. Fixed.
  22. I was just in my room playing with Breez Flea Machine, a set that I got at the LEGO store last week. It's been on my wish list since before it came out, because I really love its design. The LEGO Group really showed great creativity with this year's Invasion from Below sets and I think it totally paid off. Generally the set meets all of my expectations. Non-traditional design? Check. Its tripod build and heavy use of Technic really help it stand out from previous Hero Factory sets. It's also helped by its bulky leg armor and tiny feet, which give it a very nimble look (though with only three legs and such a tiny footprint, it can't hold TOO many different poses). Great parts? Check. The Bright Yellowish Green square shell detail pieces are great. It DOES have a lovely printed shell like the other machines, though it's a different size and color than usual. The mini-heroes in general have great designs, and Breez is no exception. I'd be amiss if I didn't also mention the cool new cocoon petals! Awesome functions? Check! At first I was a little bit disappointed with the claw, because it snagged every time I tried to flick it so I thought I'd be forced to extend it manually with the "Hand of God". Laaaaame. But then I realized that it was just the winch that was getting caught. If you unwind the winch before firing, it works like a charm! Then you can use it as a grappling hook, and the set even includes a zip-line piece that came out during my childhood, so Breez can slide down the cable to traverse a gap! It also works nicely for grabbing and retrieving the cocoon. Plus, she even comes with a click-shooter — the first one I've gotten in a set, though I bought some from a vendor at Brickfair back in August. For those who aren't aware, these are tiny handheld shooters that fire a 1x1 round plate with surprising distance and power when you press the trigger. Considering how bulky, obtrusive, and difficult to integrate many previous LEGO shooters have been, this thing feels like a dream come true! The variations on the concept coming out next year will hopefully have similar efficacy. But then there's something else. A regular flick missile launcher. And when I was playing with the set earlier, I couldn't help thinking this was probably one of the set's least impressive functions. Don't get me wrong, I love flick missiles! Or I did, back when they were one of the most compact, least obtrusive, and most versatile launcher designs. This year the LEGO Group introduced lots of amazing new launchers, including the click shooter. With a basic click shooter already in the set, I thought a pair of flick missiles would be kind of pointless and superfluous. It's not like they'd even work that well just slapped on the side of the set like that, right? Well, it turns out I was wrong. Maybe I've been wrong for the past five or six years of my life, in fact. Maybe everything I know is a lie. Because just on a whim, I flicked that missile, expecting it to fly maybe eight or ten inches. And instead, like some kind of miracle, it sailed three or four meters, over my twin brother's bed, and landed in the far corner of the room. I actually thought it had misfired and gone straight into the ground before I heard it land on the other side of the room. I was flabbergasted. Flick missiles aren't supposed to work that well. Not from my experience. Probably not from MOST people's experience, judging from all the hate I see for them in reviews. Surely this had to be some kind of fluke, right? After I found the missile, I returned it to the launcher and decided to try again. This time, I kind of screwed up. Instead of launching one missile, my finger accidentally hit both. Great, another misfire, I thought, before I heard yet another click of a tiny plastic missile hitting something hard on the far side of the room. I found the first of the two missiles in the closet, about as far away from where I launched it as the previous launch had taken it. I still haven't found the second. Maybe I could get a blacklight to help look for it, since it does have a convenient fluorescent green tip. It didn't land in either of the trash cans over there, so it will have to turn up eventually. But wherever it ended up, today I learned something amazing. Discounting the possibility of witchcraft, or the possibility that the last hour and a half of my life has all been some crazy dream... my flick game is surprisingly strong.
  23. Usually I build a set and take it apart a few days later for the pieces. And while the Milano has plenty of great pieces I want to use, I decided to spare it for a while and show it off. While usually any sets I decide to keep around are displayed on my shelf, the Milano is pretty big. Luckily I've got this plant hook in my ceiling to take advantage of! I've hung stuff before at the LEGO Store displays I've done, so I knew fishing line would work and the best way to coordinate it. Looks good! -CF
  24. I was thinking about all the recent news articles, and I thought of this: Could Lego bring back the sets (not the story, but the sets) of old themes under the same banner, like Lego Legacies or some other name, using modern Lego parts but maintaining the old themes' aesthetic qualities? For example, they could produce a few Exo-Force, a monorail train, and maybe a few Fabuland-style sets (maybe even a couple Galidor ) under this name and sell them. I'm thinking that this would not be big (maybe only 1-3 sets per year, and perhaps in limited release) but it might be a good idea to appeal to parents who remember the old lines, and little kids who like trains. What do you think of this idea? Would you like to see this idea? Would it actually be possible? Or is this another one of my crazy ideas? Vote and discuss away!
