  1. some revamps Ive been working on, suggestions welcome. I think they are mostly finished though. I intend to do the whole team at some point or another. I have already done bulk but I'm working on a true-scale fib mech for him.
  2. Hi, guys! I know that Hero Factory ended sadly, but let’s be happy about HF something else. You see, this year, 2017, is the 5th anniversary of HF’s storyline called Breakout in 2012. So, let’s celebrate the 5th anniversary of the 2012 storyline. I heard that some of you guys liked the theme considered it to be your HF theme. Let me tell you the Breakout storyline: It’s about when Rocka captured a villain named Voltix, Voltix used Von Nebula’s Black Hole Orb Staff, which was in the prison room in the Hero Factory building, to create a portal that freed all of the villains, including the 2010, 2011, and some new ones, and then they are escaping through the portal. The Alpha 1 Team tries to stop the villains, but they failed, as all of the villains went through the portal and got away. This breakout is said to be the worst time that the Hero Factory organization had ever faced. The Heroes’ new mission is to find and recapture the villains. The Heroes got new upgrades to adapt to their surroundings when finding and recapturing the villains there. They also got new Hero cuffs, which can fly, find their target, and cuff it. This mission requires all Heroes except Rocka, who has something else in mind, so he chose to stay in the building. Here’s the list of Alpha 1 Team’s members and the respective villains that they are capturing: 1. Evo vs. Toxic Reapa - this happens in Toxic’s home planet, which is a jungle planet called Z’Chaya, where Toxic Reapa plans to turn his cocooned members of his species into his army. Toxic Reapa can shoot toxic substances. 2. Surge vs. Splitface - this happens in a HF communication satellite, surrounded by big meteorites in space and which has people, where Splitface plans to destroy the satellite, but he argues with himself on how to do it because he has a split personality (lol. ). Splitface has two personalities, one for his right, mechanical half of his body and the other for his left, organic and mutated half. Each half is armed with a preferred weapon. His right half is armed with the Shredder Claw while his left is armed with a gun that shoots a dangerous substance called Infecticide. 3. Furno vs. Jawblade - this happens in Jawblade’s home planet, which is a water planet called Scylla, where he plans to collect a substance called Oxidium to make Heroes rust to defeat them. Jawblade is a shark-like villain who is armed with two blades called Magma Blades that were actually Furno’s Dual Fire Shooter. 4. Stringer vs. Voltix - this happens on a misty planet with power containers, where Voltix plans to create a powerful electric weapon. Voltix has electricity powers. 5. Stormer vs. Speeda Demon - this happens on an icy planet, where Speeda plans to rob people there. Both Stormer and Speeda ride motorcycles as they race against each other. Stormer is in his new XL form, which makes him the size of the Hulk from Marvel. Speeda has four arms and is armed with two long swords and those devices that shoot electricity. 6. Breez vs. Thornraxx - this happens in Thornraxx’s home planet, which is a hive planet where he plans to recruit an army of members of his kind. Thornraxx looks like a wasp. 7. Nex vs. XT4 - this happens in XT4’s home planet called Mechna, where he plans to turn his fellow XT4 units into his army (that’s revealed in a guide book in 2013). He has has four arms, and each of the arms is armed with a weapon. 8. Bulk vs. Core Hunter - this happens in Makuhero City, which is where the Hero Factory building is, where CH plans to remove Hero Cores from Heroes there to kill them. He is a former Hero who gone rogue, like Von Nebula. He is armed with a tool called the Hero Core Removal Tool that can remove Cores from Heroes, and a gun. Along the way, Evo is upset that he failed to stop the villains from escaping, but Furno wants to help Evo by giving him advices. While the Heroes are away and Rocka investigating the prison room to examine the Black Hole Staff, with its orb part was destroyed when Voltix used it, a Hulk-sized villain named Black Phantom, who planned the Breakout and used it as a distraction to get the Heroes out of the Hero Factory building, sneaks inside the building, imprisons most of the building’s staff members there, and takes over the building as he activates the fail-safe shield around it. Black Phantom is armed with a big weapon with a mace and a blade and a spider-like drone called Arachnix, which can multiply, shoot energy from its mouth, and cane be used as a gun. Rocka notices the situation, so he goes to deactivate the shield, even though that one of the staff members named Nathaniel Zib is suspicious of Rocka’s secret intentions and abilities. Black Phantom also plans to steal Hero Factory’s plans to create an army of evil versions of Heroes who are powered by an evil substance called Anti-Quaza, which is an evil counterpart of a good-hearted substance called Quaza, which is used to create the Heroes. Black Phantom also has some inside him, and he used it to shut the staff members down like computers. When Stormer, Evo, Furno, and Surge finished with their tasks early, they notice the shield, and Rocka turns it off. Rocka tells the Heroes about the situation, even though that they are suspicious of his secret intentions and abilities as well. Rocka answers that he secretly works for a special Hero team called the Hero Recon Team (who are sort of introduced in 2011), and the Heroes like it. The Heroes go to fight Black Phantom in the building’s Assembly Tower to stop him from creating his army. Rocka defeats Black Phantom by overloading him with power from the tower, with the help of Evo. Later on, as some more Heroes returned with their recaptured villains, the mission continues (even through the events of the Brain Attack storyline in 2013). When the Alpha 1 Team, Nathaniel Zib, and their boss named Mr. Makuro were talking about the breakout, they learn that the breakout was used as a distraction, so Black Phantom was able to deliver the Hero Factory plans to an unknown villain before he was defeated. They are worried. Meanwhile, this villain opens his laptop, which reveals the plans, and he is happy that he got them for his evil plan to create a factory that creates villains. That went unresolved (even though that the plans are also used to help a villain and his army of Brain parasites attack the building in the Brain Attack storyline). Since Black Phantom’s defeat, Breez, Nex, and Bulk are having a hard time with their villains while Voltix is still on the loose. However, Breez and Nex later become successful (mentioned in the guide book). Core Hunter is planning to use a super-powerful and super-dangerous device called the Doom Box to do a ransom. When he is trying to use it, the Alpha 1 Team stop him by having his Removal Tool absorb the Box’s energies. However, Core Hunter becomes more powerful and defeats every single Hero in the tram except Surge. Surge defeats Core Hunter by reflecting the energies back at CH, which causes CH to disappear to his unknown fate. The Alpha 1 Team are having a flashback about the Hero Factory’s beginnings, when the Alpha 1 Team just had Thresher, Stormer, Bulk, Stringer, and Von Ness (before he became Von Nebula). During the time, no one knew about the Factory yet. Black Phantom planned to form his gang of villains called the Legion of Darkness. This group consisted of Black Phantom as the leader, Toxic Reapa, Jawblade, Splitface, Thornraxx, XT4, Voltix, and Speeda Demon (that’s almost every Breakout villain). The Legion were trying to destroy the Factory, but the Heroes were defending it. While the two groups are fighting, Black Phantom secretly revealed to the Heroes that he actually planned to betray most of the Legion except XT4, who is reprogrammed to be obedient to him, so Black Phantom could eliminate a competition that the villains gave him and become the best villain in the villain underworld. However, the Heroes let the Legion know about this, so they defeated Black Phantom before they get defeated by the Heroes. To celebrate, let me ask you this: What are your fond memories about the storyline and/or what do you like about it? For me, I like the Heroes’ designs. They look amazing on them! I like that the designs matched their abilities, like the fire print on Furno’s chestplate. I like that the Heroes also wear their original 2010 helmets again, while I like that Evo’s, Nex’s, and Rocka’s new helmets have the same style as the others and are based on their original 2011 helmets (their new helmets happened because Evo, Nex, and Rocka were never born in the 2010 storyline before they were born in the 2011 storylines. Plus, Rocka’s 2012 helmet is based on any previous storylines (Just saying a fact there), but it looks cool on him.). The cuffs are a great touch since this is about the breakout and recapturing villains, after all. I love their new blasters, which look like Thronax Launchers from Bionicle 2001-2010 because of their new design. I like Evo’s Tank Arm. Looks cool. Evo could have kept his purple color scheme and his arms look uneven by length, though. I like Surge’s lightning sword. Surge shouldn’t use too much green, though. Furno and Breez look alright. I like Furno’s underwater gear and Breez’s flying gear. Their weapons look neat, but I like Breez’s red weapons the best. Rocka looks awesome in his new look. I love his transparent green shield and crossbow. Nex looks alright, but needs some green color scheme. I like his Laser Cutter, though it’s weird that he doesn’t have a hand over there in his set. Bulk looks very cool. I love his shoulder pads and missile launcher. It’s neat that you can attach his Cuffs on his armpits. Lol. Stinger looks alright. He has some nice transparent blue pieces, but why does he keep changing his secondary color? Shouldn’t it be orange, like his 2010 look? Anyway, I like his blaster and those shoulder pieces that look like sound booming things. The blaster looks like a guitar, which matches his sound-based personality, and the shoulder pieces match his personality, too. Stormer looks epic in his 2012 look. He is the size of the Hulk when he is in his Titan set, man! It does match him as the leader of the team when the Breakout storyline is a serious business. I love his sword, and the scout drones are a great touch. As for the villains, Toxic Reapa looks cool. I like his guns, head piece, and those tanks on his back. Jawblade looks great. I like that he has fins for legs and arms. However, his wrist are so thick that I could hardly Cuff the guy, which is not satisfying. I like his tail and blades, though. Splitface looks cool. I like that his black and red colors divide his body into two halves to represent his respective personalities. I like his weapons, too. Black Phantom is mighty epic. He looks intimidating. His weapons and the drone looks very cool. I like his red and transparent yellowish green pieces, and the fact that he is a Titan set, which makes him look like the main antagonist of the storyline well. He looks like a mix of Fire Lord from Ordeal of Fire and Hewkii Inika from Bionicle 2001-2010. Thornraxx is okay, and I like his stinger, wings, claws, and his ball-shooting mouth. It’s cool that Lego is reusing the wing pieces from Bionicle 2001-2010’s Gorast set. He looks weird, though, because he doesn’t have legs, and his design looks weird, too. XT4 is alright. I like the fact that he has four arms and each of them has a weapon, but his body looks abnormally tiny, which kind of makes him look weird. He looks like a love child of Meltdown from the 2010 storyline and Waspix from the Hero Factory franchise’s Savage Planet storyline (Just saying a comparison). Core Hunter looks cool, and I love his Removal Tool, his buff and spiky design, his gun, his mask. However, he has the same thick-wrists problem as Jawblade’s, and there’s a bulge on his back. Voltix looks amazing! I love his electricity-based and power-switch-based design, the red and blue wires, his whip, his gun, his purple pieces, and those horn-like things on his head. His arms are a little stubby, though. Speeda Demon looks very cool, and I like the fact that he has four arms as well, his swords, his electricty-zapping things, and his horns. His motorcycle looks very cool, too, and I like its color schemes, gold pieces, and 2010 Surge’s lightning weapons being used as its exhaust things. The CCBS in the sets are used very well in the 2012 storyline. I wish that Stormer could have included his motorcycle in his set, but it’s a blue version of Furno’s bike in 2010. Plus, Nex needs two Cuffs instead of one to recapture XT4 because XT4 has four arms. Next, the combo models. The ones where each are a mix of a Hero and a villain that he is sent to capture look cool, but they look super-weird. I like the combo with Furno, Evo, and Surge, which is an extra rookie Hero in the team, and the combo with Toxic Reapa, Jawblade, and Splitface, which is a mutated underwater villain that the Hero is sent to capture. The Hero looks epic because of his bulk and blasters. The villain looks like a bigger and deluxe version of Jawblade with feet. He looks awesome. The Lego pieces introduced in the storyline are quite neat. I like the armor pieces, the transparent dark green Glatorian head piece from Bionicle 2001-2010, and the villains’ head pieces and helmets. As for the story and media, I think the story is very good. There is some character developement here and there. It’s weird that Evo went from a calm ninja in the Ordeal of Fire storyline to a worried person in the storyline (though it is revealed why he did that in the guide book), but good thing that Furno wants to help him. Furno is becoming a teacher, like Stormer. Surge and Stringer are funny as always. Stormer and Rocka are very cool as always. It’s neat that Rocka is a part of the Hero Recon Team. Too bad that we didn’t see more of the other heroes, though. The villains are just video game enemies to be defeated, kind of sadly. Black Phantom, Voltix, and Core Hunter are impressive, however. The other villains may be great in their own clever-ness and skills, but they are easily defeated, even though that they are funny. Lol. But, are the extra combo Hero and villain necessary? These guys don’t have character development at all. There are some things that I find annoying about the villains other than the combo characters: Voltix is still on the loose and Core Hunter’s fate is unknown. It’s quite annoying. About the villains from past storylines, it’s cool that we can see them again, but we don’t know what happened to them after the breakout and they aren’t recaptured (however, the guide book says that the Witch Doctor from Savage Planet is recaptured). Plus, we know that Von Nebula was imprisoned in the orb part of his staff, but when Voltix destroyed the orb part to activate the staff, we don’t know what happened to him, but I think that he may the mysterious villain who got the plans from Black Phantom somehow. Zib is a good and funny character as always. Capricorn is funny as always, too. It’s just that. Lol. As for the media, there are two 22-minute Hero Factory TV episodes, which are a two-parter episode called Breakout, two Secret Missions books, and an online game and app game called Breakout. The episodes are fine, and I like the highlights on the Heroes’ helmets and the fact that the characters finally have five fingers in each hand like their sets (the 2011 episodes only show four in each hand). However, there are a little bit of inaccuracies between the animation and sets, but the characters look mostly alright. I like the voice actors in the episode, though I question why people who made the episodes replaced Evo’s original voice actor with a new one. Also, I wish we could see Breez, Nex, and Bulk in their 2012 forms, Thornraxx, XT4, and Core Hunter in there, though, I wish that Vapor from the 2010 storyline could have been with the escaped villains during the breakout (he never physically appeared in the TV show at all, too). There weren’t any more episodes that continued the Breakout storyline to show their adventures or recapturing the other escaped villains, either. Bummer. I think Lego had a budget problems with this, so our expectations didn’t become true, sadly. For the books, they are good. The online game is very fun. I think of it as the best Hero Factory game. I love shooting at stuff and enemies. I also liked the fact that’s you can find codes and use them to get more points in the game, so you can upgrade the Heroes. The codes that you find are on the Hero Cores in the sets and some online content. The app game wasn’t much, sadly, but it has codes that you can use. It’s very cool that both of the games are made by the company who made Bionicle 2001-2010’s Glatorian Arena games. However, the online game is missing two things: XT4 and Nex’s mission in Mechna. Quite disappointing. There’s also comics and Hero Factory’s website contents, but they suffered the same condition as the TV episodes, as they don’t show all of the Heroes and their villains. So, guys, what are your fond memories of the storyline, what do you like about it, what’s your favorite 2012 set, favorite character(s) in 2012, favorite moment in the storyline, what things remind you of the 2012 storyline, and/or how would you celebrate it? For me, well, my favorite sets are Stormer, Furno, Rocka, Stringer, Bulk, Breez, Voltix, Black Phantom, Speeda Demon, XT4, and Core Hunter, and my favorite characters are Stormer, Furno, Rocka, Voltix, Speeda Demon, Black Phantom, and Core Hunter. The things that remind are: 1. The Cybug craziness from Wreck-It Ralph in 2012 (Thornraxx) 2. Stronius and Kopaka from Bionicle 2001-2010 (Core Hunter) 3. Bane from The Dark Knight Rises (Core Hunter) 4. Two-Face from DC Comics and Blitzwing from Transformers: Animated (Splitface) 5. Hewkii Inika from Bionicle 2001-2010 (Black Phantom) 6. The Barraki’s prison break and underwater fight between hero and villain from Bionicle 2001-2010 7. The Avengers movie in 2012 8. Darth Vader from Star Wars (Stronius) 9. Umarak the Hunter from Bionicle 2015-2016 (Black Phantom) 10. Pridak from Bionicle 2001-2010 (Jawblade) 11. The Serpentine from Ninjago being released from their prisons to do evil things in 2012 (the Breakout event) 12. General Grievous from Star Wars (Speeda Demon) 13. The fruit “Thornax” from Bionicle 2001-2010 (Thornraxx) 14. Electro from Marvel and The Amazing Spider-Man movie series in 2012-2014 and probably Ehlek from Bionicle 2001-2010 (Voltix) 15. Jay from Ninjago (Mark Surge and Voltix) 16. Lockdown with his spark-ripping tool from Transformers: Age of Extinction (Core Hunter)
  3. So, apparently sometime in 2012, Lego teamed up with Roblox to make a game that promoted the Hero Factory: Breakout line. It was a team-based scavenger hunt game, one side heroes, and one side villains. Players could get special items and skins for their avatar by participating. I don't recall this ever being reported on by BZPower or anyone else. Does anyone else here have any more information on it, or hands-on experience perhaps?
  4. I think Hero Factory reached its peak in 2012 with "Breakout". We got some of the coolest and most cohesive designs for heroes and villains. It seemed like TLG went all out on the weapons, gadgets, and armor. I wanted to stick to that style when creating a Breez better suited for street-level bagging and tagging. Rocka was a big influence for her gear. I've also been trying to get more accurate proportions with good articulation. Most of Breez's ball joints work well, but I need to fix some areas. You can find more (and higher quality) pictures here: https://www.flickr.c...th/25889770395/ Thanks for looking!
  5. As the title says above, can the Hero Factory: Breakout game still be played now? For me, I started playing the game in the end of the second half of 2012 with my Dell computer, but I got busy with school work until today. When the Hero Factory website got rid of some things, including its oldest online games, in 2013, I tried to continue playing the game, but my computer can't allow me to log in. I tried to play the game in my brand new High Point laptop, but it didn't work for some reason. My laptop asked me what the problem, so I can report it. I did what it said, but I still can't play the game. Can someone help me? Do any of you guys have a similar problem, too?
  6. It's a bit dated, but I notice that there isn't a topic to talk about the Hero Factory Breakout Game, and the update we got for the fall wave slipped under the proverbial radar. So, have any of you all played the Hero Factory Breakout game since the update in August? Did you notice any technical improvements in the Game itself? Any changes that annoyed you? And what did you think of the new levels that were added?
  7. Maybe I'm the only one here who was majorly confused by the Breakout episode of Hero Factory. I rewatched it a few times and here is what I've gathered.WARNINGIf you haven't seen the Breakout episode yet, DO NOT READ. Spoilers and whatnot.>At one point, Von Ness/Nebula met with Voltix and Black Phantom.>Voltix sent some kind of smoke signal out of his electricity shooter things and broke open the Black Hole Orb Staff, releasing Von Nebula and creating some kind of multi-purpose portal thing.>Black Phantom had nothing against the Hero Factory, having done nothing wrong before and was never arrested.>The only thing Black Phantom accomplished was emailing a file containing building plans of the Factory to Von Nebula, most likely so he could make his own "Villain Factory". From the statements above, it can be assumed that Von Nebula caused everything.>Jawblade stole Furno's Fire Guns, which he had when he took part in the Ordeal of Fire, meaning he must have arrested Jawblade sometime between the first encounter with the Fire Villains and his upgrade. Which was a time span of roughly two days to a week.>Speeda Demon, like all previous big villains, knew Stormer's first name.>Rocka was a part of the Hero Recon Team, which explains why he was such a huge part of Savage Planet. It also explains why he was so talented, as a supposed rookie. >Surge, while a veteran hero who is quite the electrician, is still very clumsy and immature compared to the others. He should have grown out of that by now, in my opinion. >Evo is the hopeful, young, aspiring rookie this time around. Good for him, seeing as he barely got a role in Ordeal of Fire. Also, it seems that his original traits have been mostly transferred back. He's more reckless and instinctive in Breakout, which is how I imagined him at first. >We probably won't know what Nex, Breez and Bulk are doing until next year.>Splitface has some kind of schizophrenic disorder and should be reprogrammed to have only onebrain, rather than just be locked up. >Toxic Reapa's species is a bit like the Xenomorphs from the Alien movies. Hatch from eggs as deadly larvae. Incredibly fast, mostly black, and they have corrosive blood (at least in Reapa's case he has poison shooters).>Fire Lord and Witch Doctor were supposed to be in rehab. They weren't.Maybe I'm over analyzing this stuff. Maybe the story really is just covered with plot holes. The purpose of this is to get people thinking. If you have other ideas, I'll be happy to change some of this.
  8. Breez finally came to the U.S., and I'm so happy I got her! The only thing that bugged me was her parts-- identical to everyone else's, which didn't set her aside from the male Heroes. I dediced to draw her how I'd really like her as a set:http://www.flickr.co...N05/7688497908/C&C welcome!
  9. A Breakout“Teddy Bear Hotline – please state the nature of your crisis.”This is the Teddy Bear Factory, where the best Teddy Bears in the galaxy are built. Customized with the latest charm and technology, no matter where it takes them. When 500 wretched villains strike, the galaxy’s most powerful force against evil is ready.Teddy Bear factory – we build Teddy Bears!* * *A malicious toy dinosaur turned from the dull confines of his cell to view what was a sadly common sight – Fuzzball and Rockerz leading another miscreant into storage. Mockery sounded from all directions, including the dolls and Makuta Teridax on the first floor.“Please don’t do this” whined the cuffed teddy. She was of a tasteful shade of black, and her fur was studded with miniature lightening bolts.“Nah, I’m afraid the ride’s over for you, Voltix” said Fuzzball, whose fur was more of a crimson persuasion. He shoved the bear into the cell, laser lines springing up behind her.Rockerz turned to Fuzzball as the crane loaded Voltix’s cell into place. “That black orb staff thing – maybe we should put that thing in a more secure place. It gives me the creeps.”Voltix laughed, a sharp, shrill affair. “It gives me hope, so I can stand on mountains. It gives me hope, to fight another day…” Mesmerized by her musical lit, the boys didn’t notice the black energy leaking out of Voltix’s cell until it was too late.Fuzzball smiled. “Cool! A dimensional portal!” Red lasers blinked out, and various villains leaped to the floor, headed for the column of lightening.Snuggles appeared behind them. “What happened?”“Breakout. All the prisoners are escaping!”“What do we do? There’s too many of them!”Furno slapped Eggplant on the back. “We’re Teddy Bears. That means we stop them.”So Eggplant, Fuzzball, Rockerz, and Snuggles made a number of failed attempts to control the breakout. Snuggles found himself in front of a toy shark, who was making concerted attempts to bite his head off. “notgoodnotgoodnotgoodnotgood.”Eggplant meanwhile headed straight for the dimensional vortex, only to be yanked out by Snuggles, sending the shark crashing into the rift. “You’re not ready for that. What do you think you’re doing?”And just like that, all the Teddy Bears backed up. “So sorry for the damage” crooned Voltix. “Send us a bill.” And with that, she leaped into the swirl and was gone.* * *Zebra stood up in front of the assembled teddies. “This is the greatest challenge the Teddy Bear factory has ever faced. All the villains in our custody have escaped!”Skinny, a blue-tinged bear in the back chuckled quietly. “It’s not as bad as Makuta Teridax.”String Cheese punched him. “Makuta Teridax escaped, you dimwit.”“Fortunately,” continued Zebra, “we insert chips in villain processing, so tracking them won’t be a problem.”Fuzzball nodded. “Follow your nose – the potato chip scent is hard to miss.”“But due to the large number of villains that escaped, we are sending you on individual missions to capture each one of them.”Skinny yawned.“We have new Teddy Cuffs!” announced Zebra, holding one up one with his mouth.“Why bother – the old ones worked just fine” said Snuggles.“These cuffs can be attached or thrown, and will lock on-““Enough!” said Snuggles, snatching up the new cuffs. “I’m going after the shark thing.”Zebra snorted. “I’ve already assigned him to Fuzzball.”“Well, you do a good job, kid” said Snuggles, handing him the handcuffs. “It’s what I trained you for.”Fuzzball waved him off. “Even you know that handcuffs don’t work on sharks.”* * *Snuggles pedaled as fast as he could after his green faced adversary. His tricycle squeaked as he rounded a bend and viewed his opponent on a similar vehicle.A schematic popped up. “I have a reading on Speeda Clown. He seems to be headed to the planetary navigation beacon.”Zebra, on the other end of the com, snorted. “If he gets there, incoming ships won’t know where to go, and he’ll be able to broadcast his face in a blink of an eye.”“Not on my paws” said Snuggles. He frantically pedaled after the speeding clown, activating a pair of devices on the back of the tricycle. Snowballs pelted the being, despite his best efforts to avoid them. After awhile though, the machines ran out of ammo and fell to the ground.“You thought those little machines would beat me?” snarled the clown, amidst his evil clown laugh.“No, but they did slow you down so I could get ahead” said Snuggles.* * *“Why didn’t you launch?” demanded Zebra, standing two feet away from Rockerz.“Mr. Makubear said to stay behind.” said Rockerz, earphones plugged into the back of his electric guitar. “Security reasons.”* * *Meanwhile, a small black spider descended into the prison on a thin web. Above it was a floating being of darkness, indistinctly shaped but nonetheless connected to the spider – it moved along with it across the broken storage unit.* * *Eggplant called in. “I’m in a bit of a sticky situation…having trouble dealing with this…snake…” His voice was strained, and it was clear through the video com link that his fur was stuck together. A spider appeared above the status screen, shoving and nipping Zebra. “Urgh, I hate spiders.” He backed away, nervous. Numerous spiders hearded Zebra and his lieutenants into the center of the floor, putting them in a forcefield.* * *Rockerz wandered away, going down to the empty villain storage unit. The large space, in his mind, would make a great concert hall – a place where he could imagine his audience…But then the door slammed behind him. The controls to open it again didn’t work. He flipped on the com panel. “Hey Zeb, what’s up?”“Why would I tell you?” snarled Zebra. “You spend too much time with the guitar to care.”Rockerz looked around. There was an opening, a way out, but it was high above his head. He needed rope. He didn’t have one. Except…Rockerz looked down at his guitar. Well, a bears gotta do what a bear’s gotta do…* * *Fuzzball dived the best he could, trying to stay out of reach of those powerful jaws. “Help” he whined as his aqua-jet pack slammed him into the seafloor.“You don’t understand why I can here.” roared the shark. “I came to make sure that no teddy bear would be able to stand against me.”“You succeeded” said Fuzzball. “Now stop chasing me.”The world disappeared in a shower of red splotches.“Furr-o-lineum!” crowed Fuzzball’s opponent. “Instantly removes – Hey!”The teddy bear had the shark in an iron grip around its middle, his pack and his legs pushing them to the surface. “Thanks for the help, buddy – now you won’t slip out of my bear hug.”* * *Skinny snorted. The monster he had been sent to capture was arguing with itself. He took advantage of the distraction to fire the computer-cuffs at the beast, only to watch them connect. “Those computers nowdays always take the fun out of things” he said as he grabbed the incoherent babbling mess and yanked him back to the custody of the satellite. Bored, he spilt an asteroid in half on the way back.* * *String Cheese was having his own problems, mostly that he could barely see. “Vooltiix, where arrre yoooou?” he said. The response was an explosion of pain as his body crackled with electricity.“This is an insult of the highest order” she said. “They thought a rookie like you could defeat me?” She let up on her electrical attack, slinking away.“All around the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush” babbled String Cheese, running around in circles. Voltix spun around, trying to zap him, only to find herself gradually surrounded by an ever-frightening mummification of string cheese.String Cheese smiled. “Well, that about wraps this thing up.”* * *Eggplant could not move. He could barely see, as the giant snake bent toward him with a hiss. His fingertip was as…slow…as…molasses…coming down on the trigger…BLAM.The snake screamed writhing away in pain at the energy weapon.“Hey Eggplant – need some help?” Skinny swooped in, placing his foot on top of the snake’s head to keep it there.“This…wasn’t…the rules…of the game.” strained out Eggplant.Skinny turned and slapped the catch on the snake’s holding container. “This isn’t a game, buddy. This is real life.” He grabbed his friend, pulling him along toward an interplanetary craft. “Let’s hope they don’t have to shave that green off. It’s a new fashion, I hear.”* * *Rockerz walked casually up the stairs, chewing on licorice as he went. He had managed to fix his guitar and was tuning it lazily. That is, until a bunch of spiders ran down the stairs, knocking him over. Struggling, Rockerz knocked off a few of them with his musical instrument and resumed his casual jaunt up the stairs, ignoring the spiders that nipped at his heels. Playing a soft lullaby, he entered Mr. Makubear’s quarters. The view from here was impressive. A new song was definitely on order here, just to capture the essence.A red light blinked on the corner of his vision – a slight disruption in the assembly tower mechanisms, nothing to worry about.* * *“Well, all I really had to do was cuff him after that” explained Snuggles. “I did chuck a snowball at him again, though, just for fun.”String Cheese smiled at that. “I had to engage in a tug-of-war with Intergalactic Towing Services. My Teddy Bear Pod was illegally parked.”“Has anyone seen Rockerz?”* * *“What are you doing here?” said Rockerz, looking up at the black void drifting amoung the collections of wires in the assembly tower. Energy crackled, feeding into the black cloud.“I am Black Phantom, and I will steal power from this wretched Teddy Bear factory!”“You must be pretty desperate. Do you like music? It might sooth your nerves.”“Music? What is music?Rocka smiled and began to play. As he did, the black apparition began to drift downwards toward the beautiful sound, leaving the power conduits and his power grab behind.“Get away from there!” Snuggles said, heading after Rockerz.“No” said Eggplant, crashing into Snuggles. “Let him play.”“Look” said Fuzzball, pointing to the Phantom. “He’s dancing.”* * *Zebra looked at the computer files. “Mr. Makubear, this file has been sent to an unknown location.”“Probably just another glitch.” said Mr. Makubear. “We have been having a lot of those lately. It certainly isn’t part of a larger plan or anything like that.”* * *Makuta Teridax turned away from the computer screen. “Look, here’s the plan. We use the information that our operative stole, and build our own factory to create evil villains, which we then use to besiege the Teddy Bear Factory and lure Teddy Bears away from the Factory, allowing us to take control of said Factory and rule the entire galaxy.”Von Nebula shook his head. “I am so bored.”The End
  10. Hello again BZP! I haven't been around much lately, but I've had these MoCs lying around that I've been meaning to share for quite a while. Finally, nearly three months later, I'm actually getting around to posting them. They're not very custom for the most part, as the idea was to make them quasi-setlike, but I do have a bit of backstory to go along with them as well.HEROES:Joseph Shadow, a veteran member of Recon Team, has recently been assigned to train two rookie heroes: Jay Solar and Brian Aegis. He's not entirely thrilled about this as he would much rather be out on the field with his usual teammates, but he finds himself relying heavily on his new companions when the Breakout occurs and Black Phantom seizes control of the Factory- trapping the trio in the Training Spheres in the process!Jay SolarDespite his initial reluctance, Shadow sees a great deal of promise in this young hero and sends him to apprehend Statix, one of the mysterious villains who stayed behind after the Breakout. Armed with a powerful plasma cannon and scope, he is eager to demonstrate his worth, but will that be enough to take on Statix?Brian AegisOnce Solar departs to confront Statix, Shadow takes it upon himself to guide Aegis through the Factory's network of ventilation shafts and storage units to safety from lingering escapees. Just when they think they're in the clear, the two heroes encounter Shadow's old nemesis, Ethan Torch, who went rogue about a year prior. When Black Phantom locks down the Factory, however, Shadow is shut out of the room, leaving Aegis to deal with Torch alone.Joseph ShadowBackThough he doesn't want to leave Aegis behind, Shadow is forced to press on in order to escape the Factory and seek help from the outside. Eventually, he finds himself face to face with the mighty Sonic Boom, an escaped criminal seeking to steal Hero Factory's strongest weapons from storage. Now Shadow must use his Dark Plasma Blaster and energized cable cutters to bring down the titan before it's too late.VILLAINS:Black Phantom wasn't the only villain who stayed behind to cause havoc after the Breakout. Three other notorious inmates infiltrated the Hero Factory in the chaos, each with their own nefarious motives...StatixBackAn electric dynamo with an explosive temper, Statix has the ability to absorb static energy from any device that runs on electricity. He can then channel this energy in a deadly attack, but must periodically release the energy or risk overloading, which could be fatal. It is a delicate balancing act, but one he has become a master at maintaining. Statix made his way to the Factory's basement, where he plans to sap its power grid of electricity and plunge Makuhero City into a blackout.Ethan TorchBackAfter his failed attempt to carry on Witch Doctor's plans for the jungle planet Quatros, Torch was incarcerated by his former teammates. When the Breakout was initiated, Torch opted to sneak deeper into the Hero Factory to track down and exact revenge on Joseph Shadow. Shadow may have been locked out of the battle, but Torch will take what he can get, focusing instead on eliminating the veteran hero's protege, Brian Aegis. Upgraded with parts he found in storage, Torch is now equipped with a plasma cannon, superheated blades, and a hex shield.Sonic BoomBackThis dastardly powerhouse is armed to the teeth with hi-tech weaponry, and his quest for more has led him into the Hero Factory's deepest storage facilities. With an energized whip, modified plasma beam, and generator thorns, Sonic Boom will prove a deadly challenge even for the celebrated Joseph Shadow. If he is allowed access to the Factory's experimental weaponry, it will spell doom for the entire city.tl;dr here's the Gallery. Look out for the second half in the Fall! ...Or possibly winter, given my history with procrastination.EDIT: I didn't even notice, but I guess this can be considered my 800th post special!

  12. Right, my brother got the new Rocka today and I think he's epic. But, flicking through the instructions I found a surprise: in the advert for the core code gamey points thingamajig, there were pictures of a HF game, so similar to Breakout, yet so different.EDIT: Picture now! This game looked interesting. It had pictures of Stormer 2.0 battling minions in a volcano, a green factory and a winter wonderland. The enemies all looked like something I've seen in a leaked picture of the summer I will not name, and there was a powerup bar at the bottom.Intriguing.I think this is a prototype for a second Breakout game, where you can unlock different variations of Heroes (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, Breakout etc.)Reasons it might be what I just said: [*]Black Phantom escapes in the current Breakout game and you don't catch him[*]Breakout is expected to continue through summer[*]It's on the back of Rocka's bag and in the instructions, keep in mind this is a month after the current game was releasedLet's be hoping these aren't prototypes for the current game. What do you think?
