insert banner here in the future When I was about thirteen, I tried my hand at comic-making. My comics were pretty well-received and I made a lot of them, but I look back upon them with scorn. My sense of humor has drastically changed over the years and I figured I'd succumb to the pull and get back on GIMP. Here's my newest attempt at comics. Serious Intro I understand that having access to my previous work is going to be necessary in order to understand everything, so I'm gonna go ahead and link you to my old Brickshelf. They're pretty bad and have the "lol so rAnDoM" style of humor, but they're there if you want to see them. Thank you for visiting and have fun. 2. Welcome one and all to, what I like to call my "official" return to the Comic Forums. Page: 1 Page: 2 Page: 3 Page: 4 (I'll fix this post... at some point.) Hope you guys do return... It's going to be good... I like to believe xp
  3. I am looking to buy physical copies of the Hero Factory comics, as eBay searches only bring up 5, 6, and 7. As a result, I am much more interested in getting copies of 1-4, but would not be opposed to a bundle of all the comics. Please let me know if you have copies that you would be willing to sell. Open to negotiation, but please stay reasonable. Most comic book database sites have these books listed at or only slightly above MSRP. Thank you!
  4. I have two questions concerning the comics: 1: were the comics only distributed in Lego Club magazines 2: Seeing as the comics were published by DC, could the Bionicle universe be part of the DC universe. I do remember the Toa Mata had a cameo in a Green Lantern comic.
  5. 'Ello, fellow BZPeople! Welcome back (or, perhaps, for the first time), to my comics! Sprite comics and hand-drawn comics are too mainstream, so I'm one of those that opts for doing Photo comics, a wide array of MOCs to tell the story. In addition to the main series, two of the characters, Cyrahk and Thulk, run an "Ask Clog" named after themselves. This can be found down towards the bottom of the post. These guys do need help to run their segment, so send them your questions and they'll answer it as soon as they can! NOTE: Please post your questions IN THE TOPIC. It makes them much easier for me to find and keep track of. NEW! --> I have recently announced my upcoming movie for this series, set to air either late 2015 or early 2016. It's still in the works right now, but it is coming. The story is all planned out, the script is in progress, and I have a few voice actors selected. I will be making a separate topic specifically for this over in Fan Created Media as soon as I have some more preliminary material to discuss, as well as to open up the floor for casting. My representatives on this project are Axilus Prime and Toa Varova (both current Guest Stars); my consultant for casting is joev14; my assistant director is my cousin, Meyres the Anchorman. The only public material I have for this currently is a poster depicting some of the main characters. The image can be found here. Hope you enjoy both of these! 6. Hello, I posted a topic for these earlier this year but it has since died; so this is a re-post of this topic. Anyway, I have quite the haul of Bionicle sets that have been packed away for years and I'd like to get rid of them for more space and money towards my gaming collection; as such, I am not looking to trade for other sets. Ideally I'd like to part with everything, so with that said here is what I've got: Strikeouts indicate sold items, while bold indicate on hold items. 2001 8531 Pohatu 8532 Onua 8533 Gali 8534 Tahu 8535 Lewa 8536 Kopaka 8537 Nui-Rama Toa Mata Promo Mini CD x1 8540 Vakama 8541 Matau 8542 Onewa 8543 Nokama 8544 Nuju 8545 Whenua 8546 Power Pack (No original box. I'd definitely like to sell these to anyone who may be interested in any of these or would perhaps even want them in bulk just for the spare parts, I just want to get rid of it all. This will probably be the last time I post this topic, anything I have left over will just get sold in a lot locally. Note: I'm also willing to trade for items on my gaming wish list. Thanks!
  7. Does anyone have a copy (ideally in good condition, but I'll take anything for a reasonable price) of the McDonald's promotional comic "Challenge of the Rahi" that they'd be willing to sell to me? The only copies available on BrickLink are sold out of a Russian shop with a $26.01 minimum buy - while the copies themselves are only $2.37.

  9. Hello, I posted a topic for these several months ago but it has since died; so this is a re-post of this topic. 11. Baltimore Comic Con happened last weekend, and I went with 55555 to join in comic merriment, find some deals on comics, and meet Bionicle comic artists Stuart Sayger and Pop Mhan. We succeeded in all three. When it comes to the comics, I found some deals on Skottie Young variant covers! I didn't think I'd be able to afford the Young variant for Doctor Strange, but it was only $3.33! I also got Charles Soule to sign the She-Hulk variant, which was an awesome run and ended too soon. And when I handed Louise Simonson the cover with Apocalypse on it, she exclaimed, "Now THAT's Apocalypse!" probably in reference in Fox's poor choices in limiting Oscar Isaac's potentially amazing movie performance this past summer. (Louise Simonson created Apocalypse in X-Factor #5 in 1986, which is a feat unto itself because for a woman to be in comics and to create an iconic comic villain back then was unprecedented.) The Supergirl art is by Mike Maihack, who is awesome. While I also found some great deals on comics and graphic novels (I jumped into the Valiant universe this weekend, buying some graphic novels from the Valiant booth which had some excellent salespeople to get me started), I also added some value to a comic I owned: Getting the first printing, first appearance of Spider-Gwen certified and quality rated by the Certified Guaranty Company. The 9.2 is Near Mint, and this particular issue will fetch me over $100 when/if I put it on eBay. I'm quite pleased with myself. Finally, I got to meet Stuart Sayger and visit with Pop Mhan again (met him last year). Sayger was awesome to chat with, and 55555 and I spent almost an hour interviewing him for BZPower (news story coming soon) and chatting about Bionicle and artwork. He's so cool, and really passionate not just about making comics but about being a part of Bionicle history! He and Mhan signed some comics for me, which may or may not be made available to members to obtain in the future. He was also selling prints, so I bought a few favorite comic characters drawn in his unique style. When I pulled out Bionicle V2 #5 and opened it up to the first page, where my Piraka Fusion creation was, I asked, "What can you tell me about this?" He said a kid built that, won a contest, and mailed it in to him to draw to appear as part of the story. I was that kid, I told him. And he flipped out! He was ecstatic to meet me, who built the model that appeared in the comic for a page. He started asking me about my building style and what I remember from the contest (this coming after questions about his art style and his memories from the Bionicle art job). And before we left, he said he wanted to get a picture of me with the comic! That pretty much made my weekend. Unfortunately I did not get to all the authors I wanted to visit to get comics signed. Which is ok, because the panels I attended instead were the real value of the convention experience. Deals and lines for autographs are other perks of the entrance fee. What is really important is to not set high expectations to get everything signed, but take the opportunities if presented. Right now my first thought is "don't bring anything to get signed next year" (which my back will appreciate), but I'm sure I'll have second opinions on that by then. Until then, I'll have to figure out how to show some of these off in my room! -CF
  12. This is the topic for my planned comic series, "Bite Sized Doom." Bite Sized Doom is about Pohatu and five original characters: a Toa of Ice called Pavaak (my personal avatar, shockingly), a Toa of Shadow named Albuxx, a Toa of Fire named Izalk, a Toa of Water named Katura, and a Toa of Jungle named Tohoko. They are fighting an original villain called Delta, who can mutate his enemies. It's going to take place in my own version of the reboot, where there are a few differences: the existence of Toa of Shadow, the existence of Delta, and there being more Toa than the original 6. It's going to be primarily satirical.
  13. So, a while back, my cousin, Meyres the Anchorman, posted a topic asking what you'd like to see if LEGO ever did a Marvel-based series of Collectible Minifigures, similar to the Simpsons or LEGO Movie ones. Well, this evening, he and I discussed what we might like to see in a DC version of the same. However, after a few minutes of discussion, we deduced that it would be beneficial to have a New 52 series and a pre-52/Silver Age series, to give collectors and fans a lot of variety. Together, we devised 2 or 3 complete series from both timelines for your consideration. After you've read our thoughts, feel free to add to it and let us know what characters/versions you'd like to see in ABS form. Series 1: New 52--We figured we'd go with this one first to give current fans a set of familiar figures that would be immediately recognized and coveted Green Arrow--He's one of my favorite DC heroes, so of course I picked him. Plus, it'd be cool to see him standing next to his Pre-52 version Agent 37/Grayson--Meyres' pick for a cool New 52 character, and because he likes the Grayson character Black Hand--I figured we need another Lantern character that isn't Hal Jordan Jimmy Olsen--who said they all had to be heroes or villains? Supporting characters are just as important. Captain Cold--The only difference here is that I'd like to see an iteration closer to his CW version, because he's easily my favorite character in Legends of Tomorrow Ares--According to my cousin, he counts as a Wonder Woman villain. So, yeah, he would compliment.... God of War Wonder Woman--it's nice to have different versions of a character we've already seen in sets. Reverse Flash Cisco "Vibe" Ramone--Like Captain Cold, I'd want to see the CW version, or something close to it Kyle Rainer--because he's another significant Lantern character Red Hood--would compliment the Agent 37 character as another member of the Bat Family, as well as adding another villain Cyborg Superman--would be cool to see in plastic form Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer--would compliment the Green Arrow character Booster Gold--Because why not? CW Flash--Because the outfits between timelines are very pretty similar for Barry Allen, and the CW version would give us a dark red and gold Flash instead of normal red and bright yellow. Orion--Another of Meyres' picks that I know little about Series 2: Pre-52--The second series would encompass the earlier versions of the characters to give the die-hard fans a nice throwback to days long past Jay Garrick/Flash--This would give us a distinct contrast to the Barry Allen Flash, whose outfits are fairly similar across his iterations. This would give us more variety Red Robin--another iteration of Robin that hasn't appeared in any sets Bronze Age Green Arrow--As I said before, it would be cool to see the contrast between his classic and modern outfits Hush--appeared in the Batman 3 game, but would be nice to see in plastic Black Canary--enough said Alan Scott Green Lantern--would really give it some variety 90's Superboy--I agree with Meyres that this one would be a nice addition Silver Age Braniac--Would be an interesting take on the character. The Question--Because that's why. Silver Age Red Tornado--Not the coolest one in my opinion, but if he was good enough to make it into B3: Beyond Gotham, then this would be fine Talia Al'Ghul--Because another Batman character should show up, and we need more female characters Raven--A well-known member of the Teen Titans, and would give us a purple hood piece Bizarra--The Bizarro version of Wonder Woman would also be a nice addition to the lineup Zatanna--we both agreed that one magical young woman wasn't enough, and Zatanna was a significant JLA character and would make a great addition to the character lineup Deadman--Dunno who he is, but Meyres seems to think he'd be good. Miss Martian--Appeared in B3: Beyond Gotham, and I think she'd be a good compliment to Martian Manhunter, who we've already got two iterations of.So, there you have our idea for a potential Collectible Minfigures line of DC characters. What are your thoughts? EDIT: Whoops, almost forgot to add the third series we thought of. Introducing.... Series 3: Batman--You wondered at our lack of mention of Batman in the other two lineups, right? Well, we found a solution for that.... First Appearance Batman--A different version of that Bat than we're used to, his cape more closely resembled wings, and this one regularly used guns and wasn't above killing 60's Batman George Clooney Batman '89 Batman DCAU Batman Arctic Batman Sensor Suit Batman Power Suit Batman Dark Knight Batman LEGO Movie Batman Brave and the Bold Batman Blue Batman Darkest Night Batman (Lantern suit) Electricity Suit Batman Batzarro BatfleckEnjoy.
  14. I was dissatisfied with the lack of Krana so I created some. Click here to infect your comic characters. Personally, I think that the Vu is the best looking Krana I made while the Su was my least favorite. I also hated the Bo because I couldn't fit crucial details onto the face. Comments & Criticism welcome.
  15. No, I'm not talking about Legends of Taladi Nui, hopefully... This is something else entirely; Terrible comics, by slightly less terrible people! So far, the ladies and gents' we have onboard on the project are: - Me! - ZippyWharrgarbl - Zahaki - Itaki (also known elsewhere as Encune) Potu miiiiight also join in, but she's very busy right now, so we probably wont see her much if she does. I've also asked a few others if they're interested, ill update the list accordingly if more people join; Basically, its going to be a fun little comic series from me and a bunch of my BZP-artist friends, where its more about the humor then the quality of things. Theres also no deadlines set for anyone to make comics, since people often get quite busy; that being said, the topic may get slow at times, but ill make sure that it never dies completely Also, the way I see it... The more members of the series, the less of the odds there are that we'll all be lazy at the same time, and nothing will get done The name right now im thinking is literally going to be 'Terrible Comics', though that's not set in stone if someone comes up with something better! (Are you a cool peep' that likes drawing, but doesn't have the time to make your own comic series? Drop on by when things get rolling, chances are we'll accept new artists and fan comics along the way!) EDIT: By the way, more or less making this post the 'HQ' of the comic until its posted; don't hesitate to say hello, and throw some ideas around if you've got any! (One such idea I talked about with Zippy was having an 'MSPaint Monday', where we must attempt to make something by just using said program; I myself quite like the sounds of this ) --Akaku: Master of Flight
  16. Sorry lads! Games, School and life has a funny way of distracting one from things... and making one forget there was a certain website he used to frequently go to. Anyways, I don't know if you've heard, but me and Inferna are going to the Brickcon this weekend. Super excited, as I've never been to one before! Would be super awesome if I actually got to meet a bunch of BZPers there, the only ones I've met so far other the Fern' is my good friends Kini Hawkeye and Kagha. I'm not bringing anything this year (since I'm pretty sure its waaaaay too late for that), but I might send in a few of my old creations next year, assuming I'm able to also make it then. So yeah. see you guys there! And in other news, I've been spending the past week planning with Fern, making an old story of mine a few of you may remember into something rock solid that wont die with me not knowing where to take it because I was originally more or less making it up as I went along. The Story in question? Legends of Taladi Nui. Her help is definitely the biggest motivation for finally continuing it, though the idea for me picking it up again recently started with General Zahaki mentioning to me he was going to be starting up his comics soon, and the deal we had that once one of us did, so had to the other. I'm not sure if he's going to take his from DA' to here, but you can expect to probably see my series show in both sites in question (I'm also taking a Graphic novel course, which is turning out pretty cool. I never knew I knew so much about making comics! Super excited ) --Akaku: Master of Flight
  17. This is the rebirth of a previous topic of similar name. So, just list down the last book you read, maybe put a description and/or review (hopefully spoiler-free), and produce small comments or conversations about books listed here (usually based off of someone's description/review). Alright, I have a few. New 53 Aquaman Vol. 4: Death of a King By Geoff Johns In short, this book was epic and was flawless, and along with Throne of Atlantis it was written like a movie and as such should be used for an Aquaman movie. It needs to be the plot for a movie. Arthur Curry also grows a beard in this (finally!). The art in the book was beautiful. Death of a King was the last title for Geoff Johns run on Aquaman and finishes up just about every plot line introduced since the reboot. Aquaman and The Others Vol. 1: Legacy of Gold By Dan Jurgens Legacy of Gold had an interesting story and was an adventure, though not nearly as epic as Death of a King. It explored more backstory to King Atlan and the complete origin of the Talismans of Atlan. The story I felt could have been done better at times (like I am curious on how the really old man Legend had children). It was cool to see some paranormal stuff (especially rooted Apache myths), like seeing Vostok again as a ghost, as well as seeing Arizona get featured (I even went to the featured reservation earlier this year ). The coloring and art in-general on this book was great, but it felt lacking in comparison to the main-line Aquaman graphic novels. New 52 Batman Vol. 2: City of Owls By Scott Snyder It has been a while since I read this one, but from what I remember I loved this. City of Owls concludes the plot from the previous book Court of Owls, but there is a third Owl book that comes after Batman Vol. 3, so I am intrigued by what that story could be. And I was shocked by the revelation of Mr. Freeze's origin. Maybe he isn't so innocent after all... Great art as always, the detailed edginess fits Gotham City very well. New 52 The Flash Vol. 1: Moving Forward By Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato Great story, very well written for being the two authors first time writing. A nice change for me from the edgy Batman and the rising to power story that is Aquaman, as it is reminiscent of older comic books, not heavy with overly serious themes, even though it just barely touched on a couple. The title pages are even nostalgic, shwoing artistic ways to write out the following into the environment, "DC comics presents: THE FLASH! In... *insert title here*". Just nice little things like that are weird in a good way. There a couple of references to Flashpoint, but if you never read those like I haven't then you should be fine (I only have the animated movie to go off of). If you want smart writing that literally has a fast pace and beautiful art work, please do go read this. Absolute Sandman Vol. 1 by Neil Gaiman First off, this book is huge and heavy (I have it in hard-cover), it was hard to read it sometimes because of this and other times when I walk around the house with it I felt like I was holding a holy book of some sort. ; okay, now that that is out of the way.... Absolute Sandman Vol.1 is a must-read, and is very mythological. It gives insight into the metaphysical properties of the post-Crisis DC Universe and stands well on it's own if you are not involved with the rest of DC Comics. The art has shown it's age sometimes but for it's time it is great. But the writing is even better, forging a story that will no doubt be carried down hundreds of years from now and even further. Half-way into the book I forgot about Dream's brief contact with the Justice League and felt that I was in a unique world. A word of warning though: this graphic novel, or omnibus, whatever, is very mature. It has nudity, brutal killings, graphic fictional depictions of Heck, and discusses mature themes, so tread carefully. If none of that stuff bothers you, go right on ahead and read it already! I am currently reading Absolute Sandman Vol. 2. So, everyone else, post what books you read recently! Doesn't have to be as thorough as what I did, just read something.

  19. Baltimore Comic Con is coming this weekend, and I am getting more and more pumped with anticipation with each day! On Friday I'll be hanging out with 55555, and on Saturday I'll be going solo unless a friend actually replies to my texts. There are plenty of exciting panels happening, so it's just a matter of if I can get in to see the awesome comic creators talk. So I guess it's a matter of getting in line in time. There's a talk about the 90s X-Men series New Mutants, one about comics as myths and working mythology into your story, Mark Waid talking about writing great characters, a spotlight on Waid and Charles Soule, looking at the science behind superheroes and their powers, and more! I also hope to get a handful of comics autographed by some favorite creators, like Mark Waid, Scott Snyder, and Charles Soule: That's five issues by Charles Soule, two by Greg Pak, two by Scott Snyder, two by Mark Waid including my Kingdom Come graphic novel, and a few others by some more cool comic creators. And eventually I'll get some of these signed works of art framed. I'm hoping to get some cool works of art in Artists Alley too. So we'll see what happens by the end of the weekend. And I'll be back in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. A beautiful part of the city! If you're going too, drop me a message! -CF
  20. One day My cousin, The 1st Shadow, and I were discussing about the possibility of my own comics and now here I am doing my own series. It focuses on me as an anchorman running a news show. 21. ANOTHER favorite topic from Bonkle? Yes. What is your favorite moment from BIONICLE? It can be from a book, comic, movie, pack-in flyer, or whatever else. Personally, this scene always hits me in the feels: I love this so much.
  22. Baltimore Comic Con is happening at the end of September, and I'll be going! So far it sounds like 55555 is planning on going too, but it'd be cool to hang with anyone else attending too. Hopefully we'll be getting a hotel to stay a night and attend two days (Friday and Saturday, unless he has other plans), so if anyone else wants to join us and keep costs down, let me know. Right now it's planning logistics with Fivey, figuring out what/if I'm cosplaying, and which comics I need to bring to get autographed. But until then, I'm eagerly awaiting the convention that is coming way too quickly to keep up with my MOCing schedule: BrickFair VA! -CF

I will be moving to a picture comic style, due to being easier for me to make a lot in short amounts of time. *Transfers fake memories about the comics ending properly into everyone's minds* Oh! And to clear things up here was Season 2's planned storyline: Solares is elected as a hero to save the village from the Tooa, the Toa of the other dimension. The Tooa are very dumb and ruin everything and end up always hurting people, so they were locked up underground. The story was to take place after they escape. Comments and criticisms welcome! 24. A few days ago, another topic like this got closed because someone necro'd it. I figured that there should be another one, since I just now found an error: Sorry for the poor quality. http://i.imgur.com/rOynxTu.jpg?1 UPDATE 3/21/15: Thank you to Dragon11603 and Sir Kohran for pointing out additional things. 25. I've noticed some (minor) errors in the comics/graphic novels and would like to share them. Most of you probably noticed, and could be done on purpose but I'll post them anyway as I found some funny.
