  1. Title says it all. Among my computer files, I have a huge collection of fan-created games, some of which may be very familiar to BZP members. I am willing to dump all of these games onto the web, provided I can find a suitable file storage website (any recommendations?). 2. Here are some of my favorite MOCs, mini sets based on the light cycles and Recognizer from 1982's TRON and its 2010 sequel TRON: Legacy. Enter the Grid (the contraption at the bottom is a rack for the light cycles) The cycles are, in order, the ones piloted by: Kevin Flynn, Tron, Ram, Sark, Sam Flynn, Clu, and Rinzler, with the eighth one being the "vintage" cycle. I actually had a hard time finding all the parts for these. Some of the cheese slopes and colored 1x1's were quite rare and only available now on Bricklink.
  3. So, after about a year of preparation and learning, I am ready to start my major goal, which is BIONICLE Legacy, a saga meant to have a feel similar to how the BIONICLE story felt, but still feel new and different. Legacy will be divided up into three trilogies (each trilogy will have its own set storyline and you will be able to understand the story if you're new), and two prequels. Each book in a trilogy will have chapters and comics that come out monthly will be scenes of that chapter. So at the end of each season, that will be the end of a chapter. I won't be accepting guest stars or PGS because a) I want it to take place in a semi-canon universe with canon/semi-canon characters. b) I work with a script I write at an earlier date that cannot be deviated from. I do have where I have made tests and posters, but they are too big to be posted directly. I'm trying to make it as professional looking as possible, since errors distract the reader from the story, the most important part. Summary? You want a summary? Ok. New Dawn takes place on the island of Mata Nui around 250 A.G.C. (After the Great Cataclysm). The Matoran are getting a bit tired of Makuta's threats and attacks, when a hurricane ravages the island. But the hurricane didn't leave just damage. A new variable has entered the equation of island power that could rival Makuta's. Will it help, or harm the Matoran? And can Makuta work it into his plans? That's all you get, you have to read it now! Prologue to BIONICLE Legacy Comic #0 Chapter One: The Storm Comic #1 (NEW!) Comic #2 (coming soon!) Comic #3 (coming soon!) Comic #4 (coming soon!) I begin production on the comics this month, I couldn't really do it during the school year. Comics should come out around August/September, depending on what I get done this summer. However, I do have comic #0 I could upload around...late July, depending on how much hype there is. And I'll try to upload pre shot's, without characters or text to satisfy anyone who needs a visual update. I would also like to thank everyone who worked on the MNOLGSCCK, the DSS, and the Rayg Kit, including notable mentions such as Matoran Onknu, Takuma Nuva, Roablin, Ghosthands, Damaracx the Mad Scientist, and anyone else who has contributed anything at all to these kits. If it weren't for them, this project would be much, much harder. Comments and criticism are always welcome! And keep checking back for more updates!
  4. This is the first chapter. Quite frankly, it's not as good as later parts, but I've done my best to do a rewrite and improve on it. Chapter 1: Fall of the Toa Part 1 Introduction Neuriz watched as Toa Balta hurled a fireball. As the deadly red and orange sphere flew toward its target, a Skakdi holding a spear, Toa Defilak suddenly turned and used his own power, launching a blast of air. The blast caught the fireball in midair and changed its direction, and it hit another, powerful looking Skakdi holding a scythe. The fireball exploded, but the fireproof Skakdi statue was not damaged. The two Toa were practicing against Skakdi Statues, not real Skakdi, thought they might face real Skakdi in the future. "Wow," said Neuriz, a Su-Matoran born on Spherus Magna, who was observing the Toa training exercise. "Someday, I want to be a Toa so I can be a hero like you guys." Hearing the comment, Turaga Kopaka, once one of the noble Toa Nuva, walked up. "You don't have to be a Toa to be a hero, you know." "How would you know?" The Su-Matoran asked. "You were always a Toa. Well, until you became a Turaga, anyway. You were born a Toa. Besides," he added, "Toa have elemental and mask powers." Hearing the conversation, Balta walked up. "I wasn't always a Toa, though," he said. "Back when I was a Matoran, I once lived on an island called Voya Nui. We didn't have a Toa. When the Piraka invaded, searching for the Mask of Life, they enslaved all of the Matoran but six of us. We had to fight them ourselves. Then the Toa Nuva arrived." Balta nodded toward Kopaka. "They faced the Piraka, and were utterly defeated--twice. It took the Toa Inika to stop the Piraka, and even they could not defeat them." Neuriz looked at Kopaka. "You... were defeated?" "Toa are not infallible, Neuriz," the Turaga Nuva said. "But still, it took Toa to defeat the Piraka," said Neuriz. Balta sighed. "I think you should talk to Solek," he said. "Ask him about the Great Fall." As Neuriz ran off, Kopaka said, "Is that wise?" "He needs to know," said Balta. "You should know what happens when Turaga keep secrets from the Matoran. Besides, someone’s bound to tell him sooner or later." Kopaka nodded. "Our Turaga did keep secrets from us, back on Mata Nui," he said. "But their secrets were not as dangerous as ours." Neuriz found Solek in his home in Av-Kara. The Av-Matoran was working on constructing a Kanoka Disk Launcher. He looked up when Neuriz entered. "Greetings, Neuriz," he said. Neuriz looked at the launcher Solek was building, and wondered what it could be for, but he didn't ask. Instead, he said, "Balta said I should ask you about the Great Fall." Solek stopped working and looked straight at the Matoran. "Are you sure?" "Positive," he said. "All right," Solek said. "I think we should go to the Amaja circle. That's where the Turaga tell their stories." Long ago... Axxon, powerful member of the Order of Mata Nui, slammed his axe against the chains. He expected them to shatter. Instead, Axxon found himself thrown backwards. He slammed against the wall. The chained Great Being, who had introduced himself as Colin, laughed. "I could have told you that would happen." Vezon, an insane half-Skakdi, had used the Olmak fused into him to bring the Order of Mata Nui members Axxon, Brutaka, and Helryx, the Makuta Miserix, the Toa Lewa and Tuyet, the Matoran Hafu and Kapura, and the mysterious being Artahka from the void of space(where they had been teleported by Teridax) to this tower on Bota Magna, and asked them to help free the Great Being. According to him, the Great Being had been chained here by his brethren after the Mask of Life had given him the ability to bring everything around him to life, which had driven him slightly mad. After a debate, during which Lewa had flown off, the beings had decided to free the Great Being. Unfortunately, that was easier said than done, as Axxon had just found out. "How do we break them, then?" Helryx, the leader of the Order of Mata Nui, asked. Colin started laughing again. "If I knew that, would I still be here?" Brutaka walked up and observed the chains. "We know how we can break them, but it won't be easy." After a recent encounter with Antidermis, Brutaka seemed to know strange things, and had started referring to himself as 'we'. "We need six different elements." "We only have water," said Hafu. He was referring to Tuyet and Helryx, who were both Toa of Water. "Hafu and Kapura can provide the Fire and Stone," said Brutaka. "They do not need to be Toa. Our sword can provide electricity." Brutaka's sword, a gift to him from Axxon, could deliver an electric shock. "Miserix can use one of his elemental powers, and Artahka can make something that will give us a sixth element." "Why can't Miserix just use two of his powers?" asked Helryx. Brutaka shook his head. "The elements need to be from six separate beings." After a few minutes of preparation, the group was ready. Helryx, not trusting Tuyet, grabbed the chain, followed by Kapura, Hafu, and Miserix, who had decided to use his Plasma power. Artahka touched his newly built gravity staff to the chains, and Brutaka touched his sword to them. "As one," said Helryx. "Ready, set, now!" All six beings focused, as Brutaka and Artahka focused their weapons. Hafu, Kapura, and Helryx could feel the electric shock from Brutaka's sword, and fought hard not to let go. Fortunately, the shock was diminished from having travelled through the chain. Hafu expected a bright flash, or maybe a small explosion that would throw them back, like what had happened to Axxon. Instead, the chains simply vaporized. Down below, a Great Being was preparing to destroy the tower and the beings inside, as a part of his plan to eliminate the most powerful beings. Suddenly, there was a rumble. The Great Being panicked and backed away from the tower. Something was going wrong. Up in the tower, Colin stood up for the first time in centuries. "I am free at last!" he said. "Now, finally, I can--" Unfortunately, before Colin could finish, there was a large rumble. Before anyone could react, the tower began collapsing around them. The Great Being took off running. The destruction wasn't perfect, and there was a chance the inhabitants would survive. Velika did not want to be around if that happened, especially if the survivors included Colin. Even though he was an Onu-Matoran, Taipu loved the jungle. It was a peaceful place, and beautiful. He had often missed the jungle on Le-Wahi. Now, wandering through Bota Magna, he felt almost as if he had gone back to the island of Mata Nui. He didn't even worry about getting lost. At least, the jungle was peaceful until there was a loud rumble. Curious, Taipu went to investigate. He didn't find the source. Instead, he found a large beast, resembling a wolf. The wolf growled, and Taipu started running away. Hafu got up, pushing the rubble off of him. That hurt. He saw Kapura nearby, also digging himself out. Several other inhabitants were nearby, half-buried in rubble. Of Colin, there was no sign. "Did we do that?" said Kapura. Hafu shook his head. "I don't think so. It looks like someone sabotaged the tower." Before Hafu and Kapura could wonder who that might have been, they heard footsteps nearby. A moment later, Taipu ran out of the jungle, followed by a pack of wild wolves. "Hafu! Kapura!" He said. "It's so great to see you guys again! Now can we please get out of here?" Reluctantly, Hafu and Kapura joined Taipu. Eventually, the three of them lost the wolf, and rendezvoused with Taipu's friend Solek. The four of them searched the jungle, but they were unable to find the remains of the tower. "I hope the others survived," said Kapura. "I agree," said Hafu. As Colin walked through the jungle, he began contemplating his plan. Now that he was free, he had found out from a Skakdi that Mata Nui had completed his mission, and had reformed the shattered planet of Spherus Magna. Unfortunately, that meant that the Toa were now loose on Spherus Magna. Colin wondered whether Marendar, the being created to destroy Toa in case of a Toa revolution, had been released. A short time later, he found out as he found Marendar. The powerful being had not yet killed any Toa. Colin wondered if Marendar had been released or had simply escaped, but it didn't matter. It wasn't too difficult to destroy Marendar, and Colin took from him the device used to incapacitate Toa. Colin's plan was simple. All Toa had to be stopped. They were too powerful. Fortunately, according to the Skakdi Colin had spoken to, the Makuta, more powerful than Toa, had already been killed, except for Miserix. And he may have been killed in the tower's collapse, though Colin doubted it. Now all Colin needed was some way to amplify the device's power. Someday, he knew, the other Great Beings would thank him. The Spikit was unhappy. It had not been fed, and it was looking for food. Right now, its eyes were on a Ga-Matoran named Vhisola. Then, Toa Gali leapt between the two. She fired a blast of water, hitting the Spikit and stunning it. "Thank you, Gali," said Vhisola. Gali opened her mouth to respond. Suddenly, the Toa of Water collapsed, crying out. "Gali?!" said Vhisola. "Toa Gali!" As Balta watched, the stone lifted toward the wall. Building the new villages was much easier having Toa of Stone around. Right now, the Toa lifting the stone was Toa Pouks, one of the Toa Hagah. Suddenly, Pouks grunted, and the stone fell. Pouks tried to lift it again, but it didn't budge. Every time he tried to use his power, it hurt. He sat down. "Toa Pouks?" said Balta. "Are you all right?" "Yeah," he said. "I guess I'm just... tired." It came suddenly. Toa everywhere lost their powers, and grew weaker. No one could figure out what had caused it. Some Toa were affected more than others. The Turaga were puzzled. Some Matoran believed it was a plague, like the dreaming plague that had struck the Iron Tribe Agori and Glatorian so long ago. Others suspected that the Agori or Glatorian were somehow behind it, and some suspected it was something on Spherus Magna that was causing it. Hafu and Kapura, however, began to suspect a different explanation. "Could it be the Great Being?" Hafu said to Kapura, Taipu, and Solek one day. "They... made the Toa. Surely they know how to... shut them down or something." "Then he must be stopped," said Solek. "How?" said Kapura. "The Toa are powerless." "You don't need to be a Toa to be a hero," said Solek. At first, Hafu and Kapura had rejected the idea. Perhaps the Toa would get better, they believed. Then minor threats such as individual Skakdi or rogue former Dark Hunters became major threats. With no Toa to stop them, these beings ran rampant. Order of Mata Nui members did their best, since none of them were Toa (save for a Toa of Sound named Krakua), but they had mixed success at best. After a Skakdi destroyed the construction area of Av-Kara, Solek met with Hafu, Kapura, and Taipu again. "That does it," he said. "That Great Being needs to be stopped." "How?" said Hafu. "We don't even know where he is." "When you wish to get rid of a sea spider, the best weapon is another sea spider." All four Matoran turned to see Velika approach. Solek knew the Po-Matoran from Kopaka's stories. He was one of the Matoran from Voya Nui. He was a mysterious being, who always spoke in riddles. "What do you mean?" he asked. For the first time in a long time, Velika spoke normally. "I, too, am a Great Being. I was placed in the Matoran Universe as an... observer. Now, I see that Colin, whom my brethren chained so long ago, is loose. He must be stopped. And I may know how to find him." Velika had his own reasons for wanting to help the Matoran. He had his own plan, and it did not involve the incapacitation of the Toa. Colin had to be stopped. If that meant Velika had to reveal who he was prematurely, so be it. As for him being placed in the Matoran Universe as an observer, that wasn't exactly true. He had transferred into Velika's body of his own free will, unknown to the other Great Beings. However, the Matoran did not need to know that. Naturally, the Matoran were shocked. Velika did not answer their questions, and made them promise not to tell anyone else. All four Matoran agreed. The plan was soon made. After gathering sufficient Kanoka disk launchers, Cordak Blasters, and other tools, Solek, Hafu, Taipu, Kapura, and Velika were prepared to set out. Originally, it was going to be just the five of them, but a Ga-Matoran named Macku, an old friend of Hafu, Taipu, and Kapura, had found out what they planned and had insisted on coming. Solek had at first refused, but Macku's friends had insisted, and finally, Solek relented. "We don't tell her about Velika, though," said Solek. "The fewer people who know that, the better." 6. Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Kopaka and Pohatu glanced at each other warily. Both had heard Turaga Vakama’s tales, and both recalled that in the tales Mavrah had died, preferring death to living without his precious Rahi. Surprisingly, it was Kopaka that found his voice first. “The only Mavrah I know of is dead,” the Toa of Ice said coldly, “drowned when the Toa Metru fought off his horde of Rahi.” “I am that Mavrah,” said the Onu-Matoran. “And I can tell you that I’ve had plenty of time to regret that choice. Don’t you know where we are?” “If we can trust our ‘friend’, then we are on the Red Star.” Pohatu responded. “That said… he did vanish rather quickly.” “Your friend?” the so-called Mavrah asked. “He goes by the name of Gaardus, and supposedly used to be a Matoran.” Kopaka answered. The Onu-Matoran visibly tensed, glancing back at the door nervously before responding. “I know him,” Mavrah said. “He’s not welcome much, here.” “Why not? What did he do?” Pohatu asked. “Those beings, the Kestora – they said much the same as you have.” “Gaardus is the reason we’re stuck here,” Mavrah said bitterly. “When you die down there, you’re supposed to come up here and be repaired before you’re sent back down.” “Except Gaardus didn’t do that,” Pohatu guessed. Mavrah nodded. “He was… frightened, I guess. When the Kestora finished fixing him he broke loose. After that, I’m not sure what happened – but Gaardus was suddenly teleporting out of here and the Red Star shut down. You can come up, but you can’t go back down.” The two Toa Nuva shared a glance. Pohatu shrugged, not knowing what to make of the situation. Before either of the Toa could speak again, however, Mavrah held a finger up to his mask, shushing them. As they stood still, the sounds from before came to a stop directly outside the room they were in. “Oh no…” Mavrah whispered. Kopaka and Pohatu readied their weapons as the door swung open without so much as a creak, but neither of them was prepared for the shape that wedged itself through the open doorway. It looked like a Visorak gone horribly wrong, a mismatch of limbs, none of which were the same size. It had purple slits where its eyes should be, and two long arms with hideous claws. “Well, one isn’t so bad, right?” Pohatu asked. He ate his words when a second, third, fourth, and a fifth creature all entered the room after the first, each of them unique in the arrangement of their bodies and all of them bearing that same resemblance to the Visorak. “What are those things?” asked the Toa of Stone. “They have no name,” Mavrah responded, “but we call them ‘Mutant Visorak’.” “I suppose it fits well enough.” Pohatu said. “Ssssilence…” one of the creatures hissed. “You have broken the rulessss… you musssst be punisssshed.” “Please don’t tell me that the Mutant Visorak are talking,” said Pohatu. “Visorak don’t talk.” “These ones do.” Mavrah told him. “The Kestora created them as a way to hunt us down – they’re created by submerging two different Visorak at once into a pool of Hordika Venom mixed with Energized Protodermis.” “Ssssilence…” the creature hissed again. “So I freeze them and we get out of here,” Kopaka said, shrugging and raising his weapon. Before he could attack, one of the creatures lunged at him with the speed of lightning, fastening its jaws onto the Toa’s shoulder. Kopaka flung it away and blasted it with ice, but the Mutant Visorak shrugged it off as thought it were a slight breeze. “What is going on here?” Kopaka demanded, turning to Mavrah. “The process made them immune to most elemental powers,” Mavrah told them, “and some of the others – earth, for instance – weren’t exactly useful enough to resist them. You won’t find many Toa aboard the Red Star anymore.” “My turn, then.” Pohatu decided. But before Pohatu could even begin his attack two of the Mutant Visorak leapt in his direction. Using his Mask of Speed he dodged around them, only to run right into a third that instantly pinned him to the wall. Activating his Mask of Strength, Pohatu tried to push the creature off – but to his astonishment, the Kanohi failed to activate. “Let me guess,” the Toa of Stone managed as claws closed in around his throat, “mask dampening powers?” Mavrah nodded as he ducked underneath one of the creatures and dove across the room to Kopaka, pulling him away from a sneaky attacker. The Toa of Ice smacked a creature away, but there were too many for him to battle with no powers at his disposal. It was like a nightmare encounter with the Bohrok-Kal. “I refuse to die here in the dark, cornered like a rat.” Kopaka snapped. “You don’t have much choice,” Mavrah muttered beside him. “They’re – augh!” Kopaka lunged around and grabbed Mavrah by the shoulders, trying to pull him away from the Mutant Visorak attempting to drag the Onu-Matoran away. “Face it, we’re doomed. Just let me go.” Mavrah said. “No.” Kopaka swung his sword around and dug the point into the leg of the creature, which let Mavrah go with a howl of pain. “At least they feel pain,” Kopaka growled. “Sssstop ressssissssting… you cannot win!” one of the Mutant Visorak hissed. “Your friend already ssssuccumbssss to our power.” Kopaka risked a glance over to Pohatu, who was struggling feebly in the crushing grip of a Mutant Visorak across the room. Kopaka glanced to Mavrah and shrugged before throwing the Onu-Matoran against the room and into the beast holding Pohatu. The creature merely flicked Mavrah away, and the next moment Mavrah was being held to the floor in a kneeling position by two more of the Mutant Visorak. Kopaka sighed at the failure of his final plan. “Your time hassss come,” the creature before Kopaka said. “Come quietly, and perhapssss we will sssspare you ssssome pain.” “I’ll die before you take me,” Kopaka said. “Nobody ever diessss…” the Mutant Visorak said, “not until the very end.” Kopaka swung his sword at the creature but was immediately disarmed. Refusing to admit defeat, he blocked the creature’s first attack with his shield before he was caught in the side by a whip-like appendage and spun into the wall, crashing to the floor. As he recovered himself, he found the Mutant Visorak standing above him. “All of the greatesssst Toa fall to ussss in the end,” the creature told him. Kopaka stared up into the slits that passed for eyes and waited for death to take him… only to reel in shock as the Mutant Visorak suddenly went rigid, trembling violently and screaming so loudly it reminded Kopaka of the Makuta in Karda-Nui. Sparks burst all over the Mutant Visorak as it lost all capability for speech, the trembling stopping as it slumped to the ground, silent. Glancing around the room, Kopaka saw that the same had happened to every other Mutant Visorak. Mavrah was unsteadily getting to his feet and Pohatu was leaning against the wall, breathing heavily. “What happened?” Kopaka asked Mavrah hoarsely. The Onu-Matoran pointed towards the doorway – Kopaka followed the motion to a Toa standing amidst the bodies of the creatures, electricity crackling in her palms. Judging from the nature of the attack and the colour of her armor, Kopaka figured she was a Toa of Lightning. “You’re lucky I showed up,” the Toa said, stepping inside and offering him a hand up. “Lightning is one of the few elements those foul things don’t have an immunity to.” “Thank you,” Kopaka said grudgingly. “I suppose I can now officially welcome you to your worst nightmare, the Red Star,” Mavrah said. “However, you can say hello to one of the few decent survivors- and the only Toa left that can take down the Mutant Visorak. Her name is Nikila.” ----------------------------------------------------- Down on the planet below, the remains of Tren Krom were watched by another pair of eyes – belonging to a Toa of Air. Lesovikk did not dare to leave his hiding place, not yet fully understanding the situation. After hunting down Karzahni he had been knocked out – when he had woken up his weapon was gone and Karzahni was dead. Following a trail, he had managed to catch up to Kopaka Nuva and Pohatu Nuva and followed them here, knowing they suspected him as the guilty party. What he had not expected was for Tren Krom to explode, all the while searing an image of the Red Star into his mind. Kopaka and Pohatu had beaten him to the scene and they had then been teleported away by a figure calling itself Gaardus – who had reappeared moments before, alone, and flown away… leaving the fates of the two Toa Nuva in question. Whatever is going on here, it’s not good, Lesovikk thought. If something can kill the likes of Karzahni and Tren Krom that easily, does a Toa stand any hope of defeating them? Crouching down next to the remains of Tren Krom, Lesovikk went over the situation in his head. Kopaka and Pohatu had most likely informed someone that they were tracking Lesovikk down – but they had not had time, to his knowledge, to go back and start telling people that Lesovikk was a suspected murderer. He could use that to his advantage. I need help from somebody more powerful than I am, he decided, which means I need an audience with Tahu. The Toa of Air stood to his feet, glancing in the direction he must start walking. He had never wanted to be a hero, not since his team died. However, it was beginning to seem like fate was not going to give him a choice. If only he was in time. To Be Continued. Review here. New chapters posted four days early on solismagna.com!
  7. Title pretty much says all. What did Steve Jobs mean to you? He had to have effected you in some way, I mean without him computers wouldn't have a GUI most likely, or if they did it would be years behind. --- As for me... I've read biographies on Mr. Job's life and philosophies and it has touched me and has help create goals I have for my future. I will deeply miss hi,m and his visions about people and technology.
